Volume 6 Chapter 13 Bodynard
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
She moved silently, feet landing softly as she swung from branch to branch, using hands and feet with equal ease.
The thick branch beneath her bore her weight without budging, swaying ever so slightly—as if it were natural, as if she belonged.
Blending into the shadows, she held her breath, melting into the landscape.
Her hair fluttered lightly. She scanned every direction with her thin tail raised high, eyes sharp and alert.
Her ears twitched suddenly. She shifted forward, then sideways, straining for any sound. Once satisfied, she leapt down, landing with a roll and twisting as she hit the ground.
”It’s fine. It’s safe here,” she said.
”Are you a cat?” the other asked.
Mina, the girl with golden hair that extended into ears and a matching tail swaying behind her, smirked. “I’m a cat Beastkin, duh?”
Her attire caught the other’s attention—a short, half-sleeved coat cinched at the waist with a band. Delicate floral patterns scattered across it, emphasizing mobility and showing off her long legs.
Her features and those unknown ethnic hints marked her as non-human. Not a Human, but something else entirely.
Mina’s mouth curved into a crescent moon. Realizing she was being watched, she clasped her hands behind her back, dipped her waist slightly, and bent forward—emphasizing the gap in her outfit.
”Ugh, you’re so annoying. Let’s go.”
Her cheeky, provocative grin faded when a hand ruffled her hair.
”Ahh,” she replied in a fake sultry voice, lips puckering in a pout.
The moon hid behind clouds. Without its light, the forest darkened, shadows thickening. Unease crept back.
”Oh—over there! Looks like a cave!” Mina pointed.
Only darkness filled the spot she indicated.
Taking a step forward, the other immediately found a slope and a hole blocking the way.
This forest sat near Beniiro Volcano. She’d assumed flat terrain, but they were on the mountainside.
”That’s a Walt Wind Hole. No beasts come near here. Well, except Monsters down below~” Mina said.
This place was safe for the night. If they stayed above, Monsters wouldn’t emerge.
Still, it was pitch dark. But that was normal for a natural cave.
”If you’re going in, you’ll want some kind of light,” Mina muttered.
A sudden thud pulsed like a calm heartbeat, followed by a dazzling, almost blinding flare.
Mina held two fingers up, igniting a thick branch she’d picked up, then led the way.
Looks like Klock can do… nothing.
She used to be a newcomer at the brothel, but it turned out she could do everything—stronger than Klock.
The shock hit hard as they headed into the cave.
”There are a few exits here. They connect to Kakeura Village~” Mina explained.
Her tail never drooped, always reaching for the sky as she led on.
The firelight revealed damp walls. Striations like pyrite fault lines etched the rocky surfaces.
The tunnel was wide and tall enough to walk upright.
”The village’s south, so… it’s a bit away from Boorinel,” Mina said.
”Well, no complaints. I wouldn’t get here without eating and drinking first. Thanks for letting me stop,” the other replied.
Strange sounds echoed from deep inside—the wind slicing through the cave with an unpleasant howl.
So, as Mina said, there was a passage here. But the fact that you could also descend beneath—this was an odd structure.
”That was rough. Never heard of a dragon attack before,” Mina said.
She explained she’d been attacked by a dragon en route to Boorinel.
Her companion fled by cart. She’d fallen in the fight and been left behind.
Technically, the cart was probably destroyed, and her sisters flew off, but explaining was a hassle.
”What about you? What were you doing here? The shop… well, since you’re here now.”
”…Yeah. I quit the shop,” came the quiet reply.
A weird silence settled between them.
She’d been in a tough spot at the shop. It made sense.
”Right now, I live in Kakeura Village… and I come here sometimes—for training or… y’know, hunting Monsters.”
Mina glanced behind her, sneaky.
The word training—was she hesitating because it sounded unladylike?
She clearly excelled in martial arts—her fight earlier proved that.
Honestly, it was impressive. She had no reason to be shy.
”Whoa, didn’t expect you to be that strong. Thanks—really helped me out,” the other said.
Mina’s cat ears froze briefly.
”Ehehe… ehehe~” she chuckled, turning away to hide her face.
But happiness shone through. Her tail’s tip lifted, flicking rapidly side to side—thrilled.
Beastkin. Too straightforward.
He looked forward and hid his face, but his joy showed.
The tail’s tip flicked quickly, swaying side to side—so obvious.
Beastkin. Simple to read.
He wondered if Humans would look like that if they had tails.
”So, um… until we reach the village, huh? Mina’s gonna be your bodyguard!” she declared proudly.
She spun around, bent over again, and squinted while glancing back—bending so low it seemed her flat chest might peek through the outfit’s gap.
Something about Mina was changing—she was polished now.
She’d seemed stiff before, like she was trying too hard.
She should be about Tiet’s age.
Back then, she felt like a little girl tossed around by Klock—used however they wanted.
But now, she wasn’t just scheming—
”Ah, Sir Klock, where are you looking~?” Mina stepped back dramatically, hiding her chest with her hands.
”Huh? What? I’m not peeking at what you don’t have,” he said.
”Ah, so mean! You’re lying! You definitely looked at me dirty! Girls can sense that stuff, you know~!” she protested.
She hopped onto a rolling rock and giggled from above.
Still a kid, he thought, briefly exasperated.
Like a child pretending to sulk but actually teasing.
Even with her past, she was still a girl her age.
But then he noticed her eyes—they weren’t childlike.
Those eyes had studied him many times before.
The gaze that sizes up a man—the look a woman gives, something a child never would.
”…So, how far are we going? Not all the way, right? Just close to the exit on the village side?” she asked.
”Nope,” he said. “I thought we could go a bit farther. It’s a bit wide, so let’s head to the exit after taking a break. Oh, but you should avoid getting too close here. Monsters might come up from the maze below.”
She shifted the topic.
Immediately, she jumped down, stepped closer, and started walking—so whimsically, like a cat.
”…Maze?”
”Yeah. This place is next to a volcano, a small mountain without a name, right? It looks connected, but strangely, there’s a giant forest under the mountain.”
A forest beneath the mountain?
He met her gaze involuntarily at the peculiar story.
”Balumishiru Maze. It’s where these Monsters with crazy horns wander—one of the most dangerous areas around here. They definitely won’t come out of the maze, so if you leave them alone, it’s safe. But anyone less capable won’t make it back alive.”
Sounds like they’d come to a mysterious place.
He’d never heard of a forest under a mountain. Does nature even create something like that?
And the terrifying Monsters that dwell there.
When thinking of deep underground and Monsters, people associate one word.
”Maybe, the Abyss?” he guessed.
”Hmm. They say it might be that…”
The Abyss—the place beneath the world.
Above the sky are the gods; below the earth lies the Abyss. Paths to the depths have been confirmed worldwide, but the Abyss is home to Monsters of terrifying strength and ferocity, a forbidden land where humans cannot tread.
Suzette said they were focusing on investigating the Abyss in the Demon Continent, but roads leading deeper exist in the Beast Continent and the Human Continent too.
The famous spot in the Human Continent is the massive hole in Balboha-neis of the Kingdom of Stras. Apparently, the dragon near the ley line was an Evil Dragon, and rumors of its Abyss-affliction spread as far as Crotopone.
Afterward, they continued through the dark cave for a while.
The topic dried up quickly. They could have walked in silence, but Mina kept chatting.
She was already lively, but now it felt like she’d tripled her energy since the shop. What had she been doing? Where was she living? What work did she do? Was she married? Questions swirled.
It was nice she was chatty, but handling a young girl was tough.
Still, she seemed more suited to running in open fields than being trapped in gloom.
That poor girl who’d been unjustly slapped after all her effort seemed gone, and that was a relief.
”How about here? You can see a bit outside, so you’ll know if the sun’s up!” she suggested.
”Ah, nice. No, isn’t that a puddle over there? Bugs or something?”
”They shouldn’t be here this time of year~”
Despite being a cave, a spot of weeds grew.
It looked like part of the cave exposed from the mountainside, letting sunlight in.
She plopped down. The stone floor was softened by short grass cushions, making it more comfortable.
With this, she could manage a night here.
”Hey, hey. When we get to Kakeura, can I introduce you to my friends?”
”Huh? Oh, sure,” he said.
”They’re Dog Beastkin, but thanks to tips from a Human man before, they managed to come back. Are Humans mostly nice, like Sir Klock?”
”That’s not true,” he said with a sigh.
Even though it was midnight, Mina was full of energy.
Humans and Klock weren’t exactly nice, but she brushed that off and yawned widely.
Exhaustion piled up.
It seemed more from tumbling off the wagon than the walking.
”Are you going to sleep already? Don’t you want to talk a little more?” she asked, walking up cheerfully.
Mina got close to Klock, who sat cross-legged, leaning against the cliff wall.
A girl’s white thigh pressed right in front of him.
He wasn’t sure if it was a folk costume, but it looked too short.
Her exposed skin, up to the base of her legs, looked like it might show the border with her butt if she bent over.
As his consciousness blurred, his shoulder suddenly shook.
She’d sat next to him—quickly shaking her ears and leaning against him.
Like a friendly stray cat settling on his lap.
”…Sir Klock,” she whispered.
”Hmm?”
”…Your d*ck is hard.”
He realized suddenly, looking down at the tent at the base of his undergarments.
A tired d*ck. His body was fully aware of its exhaustion. It was so naturally hard he hadn’t noticed.
”Sir Klock… You’re too horny because I’m cute,” she teased.
”That’s not true. It’s just a physiological phenomenon,” he replied.
”Really?” she said, annoyance in her tone.
She leaned over and peered at him, face inches away.
He felt the urge to punish her disrespect. As retribution for treating an adult with contempt, he poked her unprotected side.
The cat girl jumped, meowing.
She shifted, then used the momentum to rest her head on Klock’s knee.
Her swollen groin pressed near her face.
Mina lay there, glancing repeatedly at Klock’s crotch.
Her clingy behavior was puzzling.
Maybe she misjudged boundaries, but getting that close to a man with an erection was unwise.
For Klock, dealing with someone like Mina—around his age—was a hassle.
He felt more annoyed than attracted.
Still, her body was fully developed.
She already knew men, so he wanted to advise her to be more aware of the situation.
He looked down at the girl moving her nose up and down and yawned again.
He was sleepy. Very sleepy.
After a moment’s thought, he chose to sleep.
He lowered his heavy eyelids and assumed a resting position.
”Hey… Are you going to sleep? …Oh, would you like me to jerk off your d*ck?” she suddenly asked.
He blinked, confused. You’re supposed to have quit the store.
She no longer needed to flirt with customers to make a sale.
When he reopened his eyes, he saw a girl mixed with anxiety and expectation.
She stared intently, then looked away when their eyes met, pretending nothing was wrong while waiting for his answer.
Teenagers desperately gauge others’ feelings.
As adults, they choose words and politics govern relationships, but youth deals only in feelings.
She was waiting for his consent.
Expecting yes, fearing no.
What did she want now?
The girl’s pale thigh came close, just inches away.
Her outfit—some kind of ethnic costume—seemed far too short. The fabric barely covered her hip joints; bending slightly might reveal the border between her hip and backside.
As Klock’s mind blurred, a sudden shake on his shoulder snapped his attention back.
She had apparently settled beside him, pressing close. Her ear twitched swiftly against his, and she leaned in—like a stray cat hopping onto a lap without invitation.
”…Sir Klock,” she whispered.
”Hm?” he murmured.
”…Your d*ck’s hard,” she said bluntly.
Her sudden remark caught him off guard. Looking down, he saw a tent had pitched at the base of his pants.
It was a classic case of fatigue-induced erection. His body, equally exhausted, had betrayed him—so naturally he hadn’t noticed.
”…Sir Klock, you’re too horny just because I’m cute,” she teased.
”No way,” he said. “It’s just a physiological reaction.”
Her tone turned bratty: “Really?”
She scooted closer, leaning forward to peer up at him.
His irritation flared at her cheeky attitude. To punish her insolence, he jabbed a finger sharply into her exposed side.
The girl yelped like a startled cat.
She squirmed, then seized the moment, resting her head on Klock’s knee without asking.
Her face edged nearer to the swollen base of his crotch.
Lying beside him, Mina flicked her eyes toward his groin.
Her clingy, spoiled manner baffled him. Maybe she always blurred boundaries—her personality’s quirk—but getting that close to a hard man was reckless.
For Klock, dealing with someone Mina’s age was taxing. Honestly, he felt little attraction.
Still, her body was fully mature. Since she already knew men, he wished she’d carry at least a sliver of caution.
Watching her twitch her nose, he yawned widely.
He was sleepy. Bone-deep tired.
After a brief thought, he decided to sleep. He lowered his heavy eyelids and settled into rest.
”Hey… you’re sleeping now, right? …Should I… jerk your d*ck off?” she suddenly said.
He frowned, surprised by the abrupt offer.
You quit the shop already, didn’t you?
He eyed her with suspicion. She no longer needed to charm customers.
When he opened his eyes again, she stared at him, her gaze a tangled mix of anxiety and hope.
She avoided direct eye contact, darting her eyes around—pretending nothing was wrong—while waiting for his answer.
Adolescents read every nuance, desperate to guess each other’s feelings.
Adults choose words and manage relationships politically. Youth only understand by heart.
She waited for agreement.
She hoped he’d say yes—and feared refusal.
What exactly did she want?
”Ah, well… If you do that, it’ll be easier to sleep, so it’s a big help,” he said.
”Ah! Y-yeah, you’re right! It’s hard to sleep with it this big!” she said.
She bit down the instant he tossed her the food.
Lately, the bodyguard work seemed to cover everything.
As he answered, she suddenly sprang up and hesitated before stretching out her slender hand.
