Chapter 291 Volume ⑥ – Character Introductions

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 Name: Estesia Pordhail

Status: Honorary Mage of the Gradigium Empire

Like Amelia, she bore the illustrious name Pordhail—a young mage destined for greatness.

From childhood, she admired the heroes in tales and legends. Amelia Pordhail shattered the notion that such heroes existed only in stories. Estesia became a fervent believer in heroes.

While training under Amelia, jealousy and anger toward Neil simmered inside her. He often made timid remarks without boasting. During a duel with Amelia, though, she saw Neil shared traits with the protagonists of her cherished hero tales. That realization transformed her attitude completely.

Inheriting the Pordhail name filled her with pride as a mage and a fierce disdain for misuse of magic. Now, ashamed of her poor judgment, she wrestled with guilt that twisted her into an uncontrollable pervert.

 Name: Melgis

Status: Holder of the Spear of Shouhyou

Melgis carries the title from the firm Spear of Shouhyou, dispatching personnel for all tasks—from rough jobs to administrative work—carrying on Grelego’s ideals.

As Grelego’s heir and the organization’s leader, he acted as a shadow, serving the country without personal desires. Beneath that, however, hid a secret wish—to help his father and earn his love.

At first, he aimed to eliminate Golarf, a threat to the empire and Grelego’s legacy. But Neil’s intervention and Liana’s persuasion made him face his true feelings, helping Golarf reconsider his reckless path.

After the incident, Melgis passed leadership of the organization to another and chose to accompany Golarf on his journey.

 Name: Golarf Nim Ruustura

 Status: Founder of Grelego

Lewya’s uncle, a member of the Ruustura bloodline, and one of Grelego’s four founders.

Three hundred years ago, he fled the Nim clan’s village. Certain events drew him into a revolutionary movement.

After the revolution succeeded, he married Rayla and had children. Tragedy struck when Rayla died—because their child bore the Origin [T/N: a supernatural power]. He then sought a way to kill his own child, a quest that haunts him to this day.

He had no awareness of it herself, but the child he took in and raised wasn’t meant to become a tool for the empire. Instead, he protected his own withered heart—scarred from searching for ways to kill his own child. Neil made him realize this truth, and when Melgis confronted him with honesty, he regained hope to live.

 Name: Stella

Status: Toys of Preference (Shikou no Gigu [Preferred Puppet]) prostitute

A prostitute from the kingdom working as a ‘Toys of Preference.’ In truth, she was a low-ranking member of the organization Melgis formed.

Having repeatedly tried to escape unbearable situations only to make them worse, she developed a trauma about fleeing misfortune and became listless toward life.

But meeting Neil reminded her of the wish her parents had for her name— to shine like a star.

After many trials, she left the organization and chose to live her life anew as Stella, not Remia.

 Name: Liana

 Status: Harvest Hoe staff

A girl belonging to Harvest Hoe brought to the frontier settlement by Gibbett. She appears ordinary but actually possesses Mors’ ability to become unnoticeable to others.

Raised by Golarf, she resisted dedicating her life to the empire and never inherited its cause.

Though self-centered, she carries enough justice to intervene when someone is in trouble—sometimes putting others’ safety before her own. She even feels a kinship with Neil.

Because of this nature, she never took up the empire’s cause but secretly supported Melgis and his group using her Mors ability.

”I only gave the bare minimum about the Golarf bloodline in the main story,” I said deliberately, keeping it vague. But since the character profiles include full names, I realize I could have revealed more.

If revealing full names was a major spoiler, I would have kept it vague. But Golarf’s lineage isn’t a spoiler. In fact, if I hadn’t mentioned it here, his full name might never have appeared.

The detailed bloodline settings will be explained when I discuss the elves’ origins in this world… though I don’t know when that will happen.
