Chapter 64 Rescue the Crown Prince!!
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
It had been nearly a month since Ayumu had been forced into the task of saving the Crown Prince. In the process of constructing the centrifuge, there had been multiple setbacks—machines had exploded, caught fire, or simply failed—but all the necessary equipment to refine blood-based treatments had finally been completed. At last, the world’s first heat-inactivated blood preparation, designed to neutralize pathogens, was nearing completion.
(The monkey-type and rat-type magical beasts are cleared… The experimental results from animal testing are stabilizing at safe levels… Perhaps it’s finally time to administer the treatment to Crown Prince Aare…)
To ensure absolute safety, Ayumu planned to start the Crown Prince’s blood preparation in small doses tomorrow. Of course, interference might still occur…

”Damn it! Damn that brat!” snarled the man, a senior researcher from the Magic Engineering Division, his voice trembling with rage. “He acts as if the Emperor himself trusts him! But… ha… he won’t stay cocky for long.”
In his hand, he clutched a small vial filled with poison. His intention was clear: to taint the Crown Prince’s blood preparation and ruin Ayumu’s life.
It was intolerable that someone so much younger dared to command him with such authority. His pride had been shredded. One day, out of nowhere, a completely inexperienced youngster had ordered him around. I didn’t become a researcher for this! he thought. Why must I devote myself to this brat for the Crown Prince, especially with such a tiny budget?
(The Crown Prince means no harm, but that brat can die along with him!)
A vile grin crossed his face as he approached the cryogenic storage unit with the vial in hand. Carefully, he opened it, intending to pour out its deadly contents.

Late that night, in a quiet corner of Yugan’s new city, Livania, a small explosion echoed: boom! The research facility, located in a restricted section of the Imperial Court where the Crown Prince’s blood preparation had been stored, had been the target. Fortunately, only hours earlier, the Empress had secretly ordered the relocation of the storage site, so the blood preparation remained unharmed.
Rumor had it that one staff member had been found dead, their face grotesquely disfigured. The truth, however, would likely never be revealed.

”Of course… I knew someone would try something. And of course, it would be the blood preparation,” Ayumu muttered, walking through the vast gardens of the Imperial Court, a mix of frustration and concern etched on his face.
(And to think he’d go so far as to target the Crown Prince just to get at me…)
Being hated by others wasn’t exactly pleasant, but aiming for the life of an innocent Crown Prince out of spite was beyond unacceptable. Ayumu had enlisted Empress Sarendra’s help to relocate the blood preparation safely, and now he had to report the incident to her. She would undoubtedly be furious.
All he could do was hope that the fallout didn’t reach him directly.
Shuddering at the thought, Ayumu trudged back toward the Grand Palace, mentally preparing the explanation he would have to give Empress Sarendra.
Notes:
• Empress Sarendra – Aare’s mother who expresses quiet resentment towards Aare’s existence.
