Volume 10 Chapter 9 Girl Knight Stands Up⁕

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The Unsetting Sun will rise from east to west aboard a black ship.

Gaze upon the ship, and find pity in its fragile peace.

Board the ship, and gnash your teeth at the glory of victory.

The young dragon awakens, its upstream wings turning the earth upside down.

The dead king has his coffin stolen, and the hero dreams a fleeting dream.

Climb to the capital through every hardship.

The gift from the fallen hero is your eternal victory.

* * *

 ”What’s that?”

She leaned against a huge rock—bigger than any person’s body. Under the blazing sun, a girl with flowing golden hair lay sprawled out.

”It’s an oracle. The king has finally made his decision.”

 ”About time we hit back?”

”Yes. The final battle is set.”

The girl hopped down from the rock with a bounce. Her iron boots clanged against the stone. She made cheerful footsteps, then stretched with a big “Mmm…”

 ”Suuuuu…”

 ”…Sir Tiet?”

 ”WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!”

The tiny knight let out a cute roar from her small body. Her loud shout echoed all the way to the misty mountain across from them. Her high-pitched yell, like a kid’s tantrum, rang wildly through Mount Foburne.

 ”Ahh, that feels better.”

”Wh-wh-what?! What was that all of a sudden?!”

 ”Stress relief.”

Her usual stoicism cracked as she suddenly burst into energetic stretches, surprising the priest.

One, two, three. She squatted down, stretched her legs, twisted her body, rolled her neck. The girl knight suddenly started doing stretches. The priest furrowed his brow at her wild freedom.

”Tell me before you do it!”

”What? Did you piss yourself in fear? Be honest. I won’t tell anyone but the king.”

”You’re gonna tell the king!! I didn’t piss myself!!”

”Anyway, why’d you come all the way to this mountain? This is my turf.”

”That’s what I’ve been saying! It’s to urge you to march!! The oracle from Trios came down, and King Stras has decided on the final battle with the Demon Lord’s Army!!”

Tiet chuckled at the priest’s desperate face. She raised her hands like it was a joke, but the priest glared at her with puffed cheeks.

This Mount Foburne, south of Dragon Domain Riverside, was truly the girl’s territory. It was the place where she once ran with her friends and defeated the Evil Dragon. A spot full of memories. This was where Tiet’s family slept.

It was odd for the priest to come alone to such a remote place. But he knew it was her domain.

No creature here could match the girl, and none dared oppose her. Small dragons that sometimes snuck in froze like they’d been stared down by a snake when they saw Tiet. Shout “Wah!” to scare them, and they’d collapse, wetting themselves right there. Fierce wild animals would foam at the mouth and faint from just her glare. After all that, the area became like a dragon’s home—no monsters came near. It was a kind of safe zone.

”This oracle feels different from the usual ones.”

”Something weird happened during the ritual, they say. The shrine maiden acted possessed and spoke these words in an unknown voice. The Sanctum was in an uproar because it was so different from before. I wasn’t there, so I didn’t see it.”

”Hmm. Maybe all the past ones were fake prophecies in disguise, and this is the first real one?”

”Sir Tiet! Don’t say such reckless things!”

Tiet didn’t trust her own country’s Sanctum at all. She crossed her arms with a smug look, puffing out her small chest. Her “Hmph” came with a superior stare—she probably thought it looked dignified. But the priest’s eyes were cold. He treated her like a cheeky kid.

She never admitted it, but she was still just over 140 cm tall. Her words had a knightly ring. But as a knight—or warrior—her face and voice were way too cute.

She’d punched countless adults who teased her to make them understand. Only when she gazed at the eastern sky at dusk did she show a grown-up side.

”The Unsetting Sun… something about rising, right?”

”You’re not interested at all, are you?”

Ignoring the priest’s retort, Tiet looked up at the sky.

The sun meant Anna. Anna’s coming back. No doubt about it. My genius hunch says so.

…Does that mean that guy’s coming too?

She closed her eyes, thinking for a few seconds. Then she opened them, grinned wickedly, and kicked off the ground. The girl knight ran. She couldn’t stay still anymore—her speed shot up to a blazing rush in seconds.

She left the priest behind, but their business was done, so he could go home on his own. A horse she passed on the way must be his—it bolted in fear when it saw Tiet. Guess the priest would have to walk back.

 ”Klooooock, you iiiiiidiotttt!!!!”

She yelled at full volume toward the mountain. With no people around, she unleashed a sonic blast at the eastern sky. It hit the animals like a disaster, but Tiet didn’t notice the power of her small body.

”Not even a single letter! Flirting with Anna in Beast Country… I won’t forgive you!!”

The girl raced down the mountain at insane speed. Her iron boots slammed the ground with surprising force for her stature, shattering rocks into dust all around. Trees by the path toppled, and monsters unlucky enough to cross her got kicked flying.

The carefree holy knight girl returned to the battlefield, guided by the oracle. The next day, buzzing with wild energy, she finally faced an enemy general on the western front.

”Seventh seat of the Council of the United Kingdoms. They call me Asura Prince, Sir Bors. You’re amazing, kid. Charging straight into a sea of monsters all by yourself. This time, I’ll be your opponent. Cute little miss.”

”What’s with this weak-looking guy? This is an enemy officer?”

The western front was about to erupt.

* * *

 ”Good morning, Master♡”

 ”…Morning.”

The day had just begun. But Klock made the sourest face he would all day. He figured nothing else could make him frown more. Not after seeing her.

Her dazzling look came from the sunlight bouncing off her. A demon girl in dreamy-cute maid clothes smiled like a sunflower, bright from the morning.

”Perfect clear skies today. Is this what they call date weather?”

There had to be better words. Her choice hinted at an invitation—he couldn’t shake that feeling.

Kispe tottered closer. She stopped so near they almost touched. She pressed in, looking up at him with puppy eyes.

 ”Too close.”

 ”Yes.”

 ”That’s not a yes!”

 ”You love it, right?”

She clung to his arm like a lover. Like it was the most natural thing. One hand reached out. A shiver ran through his crotch.

 ”Hey…”

Her claws scratched lightly—crisp sounds. Through his pants, a sweet tingle reached his dick.

 ”Cut it out.”

 ”Why? I’m your slave. Don’t hold back—take me♡”

”No one in this world could handle you.”

She’d teased his dick right from their first meeting—a naughty girl. He swatted her hand away. Yesterday’s exchange proved she was too much for him. Better keep his distance from Kispe.

”Don’t say that! I really want to serve Master…♡”

 ”I’m good.”

Kispe looked up at him with narrowed eyes, grinning like always. She leaned in sweetly and scratched his dick through his pants again with her claw tips. Didn’t care they were outside.

”So, what happens if I drag a provoking girl like you to bed?”

”Then, I’ll report to the Hero that you’ve made me yours—to celebrate our new relationship♡”

She winked, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

”You’ve got a real nice personality, huh.”

She said it so boldly after all that touching. This woman’s teasing could drive someone to murder. If she were human, she’d probably get stabbed dead already.

”After that, which woman did you sleep with?”

 ”Huh?”

”You got hard thinking of me, right? Couldn’t just leave it like that. How’d you take care of it?”

An insane question hit him. He wanted to knee her in the gut and drag her to his tent to rape her senseless. His temple veins throbbed—pop, pop.

”Or did you do it alone? If so, I should’ve at least given you my panties. Sorry I wasn’t thoughtful enough.”

”The thoughtfulness you need ain’t there.”

”Or maybe with someone else? The Hero’s not back yet. So, that maid girl? The cute cat one? …No, it’s the goldfish Goddess priestess, right? Has to be. I smelled it a little when I saw her earlier.”

She covered her mouth and giggled softly. She looked so proper, but her words were filthy dirty talk.

From the morning, she dug into his sex life like it was fun. Klock turned away and sighed.

”Hehe♡ Actually, I couldn’t cool down after that either… Embarrassing, but I had to handle it myself… Kyah♡”

She leaned close and whispered in his ear. Kispe sharing her masturbation story. Her soft voice. Her breath brushing his skin. Her claws still teasing his dick with sweet scratches.

His head was going crazy. How could he not touch her now? He could grab her arm, pull her to his tent, yank down her underwear, and fuck her hard. What was wrong with that?

”H-Huh. Even succubi do that, huh.”

”Yes. Succubi are people too. On lonely nights, we think of men sometimes. Last night, I couldn’t stop imagining more time with Master♡ If you’d pinned me down right there… Thinking of you, I lost control and did it over and over…♡”

 ”…”

Kispe rubbed her legs together and squirmed. She looked up at him with those eyes, spilling her dirty details. Her face mixed flushed female heat and that same grinning kid look. Veins bulged on Klock’s forehead—he shook, holding back.

Kispe took his silent hand and lifted it to her chest. Squish. The too-good feeling spread across his palm. No hard bra in the way. Through thin cloth, Princess Asura’s breasts filled his hand.

”See? Still pounding, right? I can’t help hoping you’ll drag me somewhere quiet…♡”

”…Drag you off and fuck you there—what then?”

”Nufu♡ I’ll bake a cake and celebrate♡ And the Hero must join us! Won’t he be happy for our relationship♡”

”…He’d rage and burn the world down.”

His feelings spun wild—he was losing it. Like taunting from a pit trap. Like beckoning from the other side of a crocodile river.

He shouldn’t deal with her anymore. But since he had them, he squeezed her breasts through her apron dress—squish, squish. He saw her lips curve into a smirk.

He grabbed her shoulders and pushed her away without a word. As he walked past in silence, Kispe followed.

”I said I met Lady Primlena earlier, right? She was hurt.”

 ”…Yeah.”

”During the fight with the Vampire army, something hit her from behind.”

 ”I know already.”

Too late for serious talk now. He decided not to deal with her today. Even as an ally, she was trouble. Actually, she’d caused more headaches since joining.

”She said she was fine. So cocky—it was funny. So I poked her wound with my finger. She went ‘Meow!’ and jumped like a cat with its tail stepped on. She was so cute♡”

 ”You idiot!!?”

He couldn’t leave this woman alone after all. A demon confessing her demon tricks. He turned to her—she grinned like always. She just loved teasing and troubling people.

Maybe toss her in a convent once. Hands clasped in prayer to the Goddess for ten years—she might get a little better. Though these days, convents were broke and turned into noble brothels to make money. That’d make her worse.

 ”Do you remember my crown?”

 ”Huh? Crown?”

Her sudden words threw him off. Crown. Maybe her Stellar Skill, Crown’s Companion Star.

”Lady Primlena’s pretty strong, right? So when I heard she got caught off guard, I got curious how she got hurt. I analyzed it.”

She held up her index finger. Her slim white fingertip drew a circle in the air.

Poking wounds, she said. Did she use her elegant middle finger—Lilies—for the analysis?

 ”So, what’d you find?”

He knew Lilies handled investigation and analysis. But not the details.

She smirked meaningfully. What? Klock frowned. A brief silence.

”It was a Forestkin who stabbed her. No doubt from the magic power traces. And it was Magic for sure. In the middle of war, she almost got assassinated by Magic.”

 ”Huh?”

 Assassination. The word hit hard.

”A Forestkin did it? You can tell that much?”

”More like, that’s all I could tell. Lilies analyzes what’s attached, so from the magic power traces, I can see the race.”

So, each race had a magic power pattern? He knew people who sensed magic could sometimes tell races apart. Not weird if she could analyze that.

 ”But why call it assassination?”

 Kispe narrowed her eyes.

”Here’s the thing—the culprit’s a Forestkin. The attackers were the Vampire army. I don’t know if Forestkin turn into dhampir, but if they were the killers, it’d show as dhampir. So it’s not them. She got hurt during the raid, but not by the raiders.”

 ”Wait. No way.”

His heart thumped hard. Bad feeling spread through his body in a flash.

”Forestkin are rare on the Human Continent. So probably none in Orrid. That narrows the suspects. Only one fits.”

 ”…No way.”

”Master. Please watch out for Lady Flavia. She might be a traitor.”

Cold sweat trickled down his back.
