Chapter 40 The Grand Conspiracy and a Stalker’s Honeymoon Yuri Adventure
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Mini-summary:
The opulent halls of Regain Kingdom’s nobility hide a vile political conspiracy led by the greedy Count Fongior, who schemes to betray the powerful Seyfried family for power and lust. Meanwhile, the protagonist, Shin, seeks sanctuary for the dragon priestess Yulize in the secret non-human black market run by the Great Elemental Fenrir, who reveals the true, protective depth of Shin’s chaotic strength. The chapter closes as Shin embarks on a solo mission to the hostile Albion Empire, only to find his travel plans hijacked by the possessive Lala, and the cannibalistic Albion Senate mobilizing their ancient weapon, Fafnir, for a coming ‘feast.’

Regain Kingdom’s nobles, an arrogant bunch, made their homes in sprawling, luxurious estates, nestled on the high ground as if looking down on the rest of the castle town.
In one of the larger mansions, a group of titled nobles had gathered in a private room. They were holding a clandestine meeting—a discussion that tasted of treason.
(Regain Royal Capital, Fongior Count Family Estate)
”The Seyfried Duke family has amassed too much power, far too much,” Count Fongior growled, his voice thick with contempt. “To offer that strength not to us, their fellow nobles, but directly to the Royal Family and their cronies… we’ve been utterly humiliated.”
”And for that, they offered us even more power—the free cession of the Albion Empire’s Lindowurm Territory,” an obsequious noble murmured. “The Albion Empire’s gutsy, ain’t they? Giving away a territory that borders their own lands, of all things.”
”They’re establishing a smaller, temporary parcel. It’s called the Rhythm Territory, and they plan to station Albion troops there, running constant military drills,” Fongior explained with a smug flick of his hand.
”The Albion side is desperate, then. Is their hatred for the Seyfried Duke family that deep?” a second noble inquired with a cautious tilt of his head.
”The Seyfried Territory is nigh impregnable. In recent years, while almost every surrounding region—save for the Scarlet Territory—has been crippled by war, famine, disaster, and monsters, the Seyfried lands have seen a surge in population, self-sufficiency, and stable public order,” Fongior declared. “I hear they even support neighboring territories across the border! Let that continue, and they won’t just be a Duchy—they’ll be a new nation!”
”Hahaha, aren’t you overthinking it, Count Fongior?” a skeptical noble snickered, arrogant in his dismissal. “Hyde Seyfried’s wife, Her Excellency Christina, the Chancellor, is right there in the capital! Do you honestly believe that man could pull off such an outrageous feat with her watching?”
”He doesn’t have to. His retainers will move for him,” Fongior hissed, his eyes gleaming with a mix of greed and lust. “Before that happens, we cooperate with the Albion Empire’s Senate to seize everything from Seyfried… and to finally claim that beautiful Chancellor, Her Excellency Christina, for myself.”
”And for that end, we’re using the exchange student program, spearheaded by the Churudince family, to take noble children as hostages? And once those nobles have ruined their position, we will step in to seize control of the Regain Kingdom, using Seyfried’s power as a foundation to eventually consume even the Albion Empire?” the obsequious noble summarized.
”Well, that’s the general script, but the exchange student part is a lie. Once they’re handed over to the Albion side, their supposed hostages won’t ever come back,” Fongior admitted with a dark chuckle. “But in return, we get the Lindowurm Territory.”
”Lindowurm Territory… a land where dragon species and monsters endlessly clash, a place that will never prosper,” the noble mused with a nod. “Still, land is land. It’s a good thing for Regain Kingdom’s borders to expand.”
”Indeed. We shall gain everything, and in the end, we shall conquer all. We will outwit the Regain King and those Albion Empire Senators, and claim every last thing for ourselves…” Fongior gloated.
”Yes, Count Fongior.”
”All for the glory that will be ours…”
(No way that flabby old geezer and Chris are compatible, nyaa. But Master was totally right, there really were these stupid noblemen here, nyaa. Luna’s gotta show Master everything she saw later, nyaa…)
A black cat with odd eyes silently slipped out of the room.

* (Royal Capital Underground Black Market, Fenrir’s Tavern)*
”You just dragged her here without any explanation? You’re still such a lawless jerk, Shin,” Fenrir grumbled with a weary sigh.
”Well, if I’m taking Yulize-chan around, it has to be either here or inside the Seyfried Territory, right? When she’s in human form, Yulize-chan can’t exactly hide her immense power, so if we walked around the Royal Capital, some creepy noble would just snatch her up,” I shot back.
Fenrir, in his handsome old man form (the Ikemen Oji look), was sighing while polishing a glass. Seriously, this guy’s movements were so picturesque, even though his true form is just a giant fluffball. You gotta hand it to him, he is one of the Five Great Elementals.
While I was stuffing my face with the Cloud Pig Pâté and Sukuru Salad that Fenrir had set out, I continued to chatter at him.
”I’ve heard that the Regain Kingdom nobility has plenty of cross-dressers and perverts… but I see. That girl is the Dragon Priestess. Then coming here was the right call,” Fenrir conceded with a slow nod.
”…Huh? The right call? Even though you’re a scary person?” Yulize whispered, her voice timid.
”A scary person…” Fenrir muttered, actually looking a little dejected.
It can’t be helped; for a powerful guy, Fenrir is surprisingly easily wounded by words.
”Right? After all, this is the non-human black market where no human can enter! You’re totally a scary person, Fenrir-kun.”
”I am not a scary person, you two… Miss Yulize, was it? May I call you that?” Fenrir pleaded, trying to recover his dignity.
”Y-Yes, Lord Fenrir. I… I’ll call you Lord Fenrir,” Yulize stammered.
Yulize-chan is super nervous, huh? I wonder why. What’s so scary about this total fluffball? It’s a real mystery!
”Shin. You’re being rude to me in your head again, aren’t you?” Fenrir chided.
”Mmm? Not at all! Anyway, this Pâté is delicious. You gotta teach me how to make it sometime, Fluffy Fenrir-kun.”
”…You truly look down on me, you rogue…” Fenrir sighed deeply, turning to Yulize. “Miss Yulize. You made the right choice in picking Shin as your host.”
”Huh? The right choice? Why?” Yulize asked, confused.
”…This one has a broken personality and is the ultimate definition of lawless abandon, but he will defend his allies with everything he has, and he shows zero mercy to his enemies. Just as I once did.” Fenrir declared with a hint of ancient pride.
”Yeah, I guess. You know, I totally beat you up back in the day and pulled out all your fur,” I recalled brightly.
”You beat up one of the Five Great Elementals? Lord Fenrir, is Shin-kun really that strong?” Yulize gasped, her eyes widening in admiration.
”He’s strong, and he’s an immensely perverted man… but he’s strong,” Fenrir confirmed grimly. “Miss Yulize, if you can use your Shadow Dragon Transformation, you should stick with Shin as much as possible. The True Dragon Species in the Albion Empire are easily captured.”
”Spend all day, every day with my adorable Shin-kun? …For the rest of our lives, together?“
BO-WA-WA-WA-ON!
(Yulize-chan, wanna take a bath together?)
(Yulize-chan, that tickles!)
(Yulize-chan, n-no! Don’t touch there…)
(Y-Yulize-chan… this is embarrassing!)
”…Eheh, ehehe… that sounds wonderful. Being with a cute boy, forever and ever.”
”Why are you making that creepy smile? What’s wrong?” Fenrir demanded, unsettled. “Well, in any case, staying with him is the safest option for a while. The Albion Empire is dangerous right now. And if things get bad, you can always seek refuge here. After all, this is the dark world where no humans can enter.”
”No humans can enter? Huh? But Shin-kun… he’s human, isn’t he?” Yulize pointed out.
”Mmm? Me? I’m fine, I’m fine! I’m best buddies with the boss of this place, Footman-kun!”
”Best buddies?” Yulize repeated, skeptical.
”Yeah, best buddies, best buddies! We became best buddies about one second after we reunited!”
(I’m gonna blow up the entire black market if you don’t give me permission to enter here, Footman-kun, with my Death Ball!)
(I-I give you permission! Please don’t kill me!!)
”Still, outside is dangerous. The best bet is to hide within Shin’s body. You might even want to try contracting with him, like Luna did. You can get a lot stronger that way,” Fenrir advised.
”Y-Yes, I understand. I’ll stay with Shin-kun all the time and get strong enough to deliciously devour him… Ehe, ehehe… Droll…” Yulize giggled, her eyes glazed over.
”Phew! Fenrir’s milk is so rich and delicious! Another glass, please!” I exclaimed, oblivious.
Fenrir continued to give Yulize-chan all sorts of advice after that, and for some reason, Yulize-chan wore that unsettling smile the entire time. I wonder why?

* (Alys Magic Academy, Student Council President’s Departure Day)*
’And now, the Skryd Dragons flight is departing with the Alys Magic Academy’s advance study abroad team!’
’ROOAARR!!’
”Oh, wow! It’s flying!” “I’m so excited to travel to the Dragon Country!” “They’ve been enemies for ages; what kind of culture do they have?” “I wanna challenge a Dragon Knight to a duel!”
There were all sorts of people on the airship-like vessel. Wait, no. We’re actually inside the vessel, which is built on the back of a giant dragon that’s soaring through the sky—the Skryd Dragon.
”Farewell, Alexia! Farewell, Layla-chan! I hope we meet again somewhere! Have a good trip, both of you!”
I was happy. I was so happy. Because I was going to the Albion Empire Territory, which was my original destination anyway, and I was getting a free ride as part of the advance team!
”Shin-sama, we’re flying through the sky, desuwa.” Lala purred from beside me.
Why? Well, that’s thanks to the underhanded dealings of President Alexia and Accountant Layla, of course!
”Shin-sama, this is truly a marvelous honeymoon trip,” Lala declared with possessive glee.
This time, I was actually on a separate itinerary from the protagonist, Alexia, and Layla-chan.
”Shin-sama, you should initiate the wedding night,” Lala whispered conspiratorially.
I’ve heard that if I’m apart from them these days, they search the entire academy for me. And yeah, it’s true.
”Shin-sama, that is not allowed, desuwa!” Lala chastised herself playfully.
I never expected to gain this much free time, even if it’s only for a few days. I can even manage to punish the Albion Empire during this short trip! This solo adventure is the best!
”Shin-sama, let’s make lots of fun memories, just the two of us, desuwa.” Lala cooed, putting a heart emoji at the end of her sentence.
”…Crap. Lala the Stalker is right next to me.”
And so, my impromptu escape trip with Lala-chan suddenly began. I’ve gotta stay on guard, who knows what she’s gonna do to me! I mean, there are a few martial arts seniors on board, too. Are they heading to the Albion Empire to join an arena or something?

* (Alys Magic Academy Flight Field)*
’ROOAARR!!’
”Wait up! Shin-kun’s leaving?” Alexia wailed.
”T-That’s not what we were told! Miss Yorn! Elder Sister Lilith! Did you trick us?” Layla screamed, her voice frantic.
”Yes, I did, Alexia,” Yorn stated with chilling calm. “Alexia, you caused an uproar in the Great Cafeteria a few days ago. Turn your rear-end towards me, uniform and all. It’s time for a good spanking.”
”Be silent, Layla! The repair costs for the Great Cafeteria will be charged to Seyfried, so that’s fine. But you? The Accountant, taking the lead in causing a disturbance! You need a spanking! Turn over and take your punishment!” Lilith commanded sternly.
”Himyahn?! Miss Yorn, stop it! Shin-kun is getting away!” Alexia yelped in pain.
”I don’t care about that! You need to properly reflect on your actions, President Alexia!” Yorn snapped.
Pachin! Pachin!
”Hinyuu! I-I’m sorry, Miss Yorn!” Alexia sobbed.
”You, too, Layla. I won’t stop spanking you until you reflect! Brace yourself!” Lilith warned.
Pechin! Pechin!
”Shaaaah! I’m sorry, Elder Sister Lilith!” Layla cried out.
”…And what exactly are you two doing in front of the Alys Magic Academy gate? Honestly… haah,” a passing faculty member sighed wearily.

* (Albion Empire, Deepest Chamber of the Senate)*
In the deepest room of the Senate resided the true form of the Senate itself, a form unknown to all but a fraction of the Albion Empire’s populace: a single body with a multitude of faces and expressions.
”A letter arrived from those foolish nobles of the Regain Kingdom, saying they’ve sent the First Sacrifice.”
”Those creatures are full of nothing but self-interest. They have no idea they’re being used and deceived.”
”But a problem has arisen. The Great Hero, Lin Lindowurm, has gone missing.”
”That one was only ever a tribute to the Regain Kingdom, along with that trash Lindowurm Territory.”
”A territory half-occupied by monsters, where dragon species live as they please? We never wanted it to begin with. What we seek is fertile land. And what is suitable for that is the Seyfried Territory… that’s where the Habitat of the Fire Dragon¹ lies. A delicious, plump Fire Dragon is what we want.”
”Indeed. Such fertile land is rare in the modern age.”
”That’s why we instigated the revolt among the Regain Kingdom’s nobles.”
”We’ve grown tired of the Albion Empire’s dragon species. We want a delicacy! I want a delicacy!”
[All of you, though you have different thoughts within the same body, let us unite our hearts now. The resurgence of Albion is near.] Arch-Senator Luva proclaimed in a voice that was eerily synchronized.
”However, Luva, Chairman. There are a few elements of anxiety.”
”The Regain Kingdom’s counterattack? They sent hostages for that, didn’t they? They practically handed them over themselves, hee-hee…”
”We are also concerned about the whereabouts of Lin Lindowurm.”
”And those Northern Demonfolk… Ah! Wait, we had a treaty of non-aggression for several years, didn’t we?”
”Then, then… has that one returned to the Albion Imperial Capital?”
”Well, then should we use that one to search for Lin Lindowurm?”
”No, no! A power of that magnitude should be used to secure the Lindowurm Territory and the Seyfried Territory! That is our priority, isn’t it, our Luva?”
[Yes, the consensus is decided… You are here, aren’t you? Our modern Great Hero of the Albion Empire, Fafnir.] Luva announced.
”…Yes. Senators, Fafnir is here.”
”Harvest them, harvest them.”
”Our food.”
”Feed our pleasure.”
”The time for the Grand Dinner is nigh.”
”The fertile land shall be ours.”
”Bring us the bait.”
”Hee-hee, our tool, Fafnir.”
”Work until you die.”
[All of this is for us, the Senate, and for our delicious feast… Move, Fafnir.] Luva commanded with finality.
”…As you wish, Chairman Luva-sama, and the collective will of the Senate.” Fafnir vowed with absolute obedience.

Notes and Translator Insights
1 [Fire Dragon] The use of Haiaaru Dorago in the original text is a common way to signal a specific, powerful, named type of monster, often reserved for final boss types in Japanese RPGs. Since the Albion Senate is literally looking to eat it, calling it a ‘delicacy’ makes the most sense. They are basically treating the Seyfried territory as a delicious, rare steak. ↩
Notes:
• Albion Empire – A nation to the east of Regain where dragonkind is revered as divine. It is currently locked in “bloody, territorial chaos” with the new Demon King’s forces in Schwert.
• Lala – Delusional saint candidate from the Lax Empire who becomes fanatically devoted to Shin, founding a religion in his name and often speaking with the quirky suffix ‘~desuwa’
• Lin – Alt’s mentor, described as the ‘Great Hero who sealed the ancient dragon, Albion, who resides in the Dragon Country.’ He is suggested as someone who might possess knowledge of a cure for the dragon race’s strange disease.
• Right – An upperclassman frustrated with ten-year-old Alexia’s presidency who initially supported Lilith (‘Lili-tan’) for the role. He represents the ‘cute girl fetish’ faction, rips up the magic paper in anger, and engages in heated debates with Left about the academy’s bizarre political landscape and student obsessions.
• Lilith – The Student Council Secretary who works alongside Yorn and Mars, pushing documents for Alexia to stamp while sighing at the president’s distracted behavior. She references a past promise involving underwear.
• Yorn – A maid who is easily delighted by Genkaku mushrooms (implied hallucinogenic). She informed Shin of the banquet.
• Luva – The cold, calculating Speaker of the Albion Empire’s Elder Council who proposes using political manipulation and hostages to acquire the prosperous Seyfried Territory.
