Chapter 51 The Silent Night’s Secret Surveillance and the Weird Ways People Use Secret Rooms

The Alys Magic Academy at night is, like, a total Dream World, right? A place where human wishes and weird desires totally run wild.
I managed to get this True Mirror by borrowing the power from the Ruler of the Mirror World ¹ (Carrol-san, the super smooth one). It’s hooked up to every single mirror here at the Academy. I use it to keep an eye out for any trouble students—the Perverts and the Weirdos—or anyone cooking up some wacky scheme while I’m here. Being the Shadow Ruler of the Academy, it’s just my duty, you know?
”Well, well, well. I’m sure it’s a perfectly peaceful night at the Alys Magic Academy, but I guess I’d better start my surveillance check anyway! Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who’s behaving strangely? Show me!”

The room was absolutely plastered with all kinds of photos of me, covering the ceiling and walls. W-wait, what the heck? Are they, like, plotting some evil thing to kill me?
”Haa-haa-haa… as expected of Harusu-sama’s room. It’s absolutely bursting with love for Shin Seyfried-jou… Haaannuannngh!” Siris gasped, his voice ragged with obsession.
”Haa-haa-haa… Right? Right, I told you so! Siris, try to relax your whole body, would you? Can’t be gentle if you’re all tense. Nyuhooooh!” Harusu bellowed, sounding far too intense.
…What are these Seniors (Perverts) doing? They’re under the covers on a single bed! That’s so scary! And why are they both wearing masks with my face taped on them? Are they even bigger Perverts than I thought? They’re butt-naked, panting like crazy! They must be practicing some kind of wrestling move under the blanket. Yeah, totally.
”…Yep. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Next, please! Move it along!”
Honestly, it was totally out of the ordinary, but my grandpa always taught me not to mess with the truly weird folks when I was little. Ignoring them is definitely the best move.
”Oooohhhnn!! Shin Seyfried-jou ohhh! …Wait, sorry. Harusu-samaaa! You’re the…” Siris wailed, correcting himself in a breathless hurry.
”My wife, Seyfried, ohhh! Exactly! We are two men who love her, so we must practice for the A-to-Z of how to deal with Shin Seyfried-jou! My wife, Harusu, ohhh!” Harusu commanded.
…I just stumbled upon the forbidden love of those Seniors (Perverts). This is the absolute worst!
Shaking that off, let’s go peek at the Student Council next!
”Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, what are the no-pants people up to now? Spill the tea.”
(Roger that, boss!)

”So, the exchange program ended up only being for our Academy because of the Albion Empire’s civil war, right, Lilith-senpai?” Yorn asked, her voice soft with disappointment.
”That’s just how it is. Yulize-san, the student council president of Lugios Academy, suddenly graduated to become the country’s Supreme Leader. And that guy, Rhinos, the vice president, ran off saying something crazy about loving female Orcs! When the people in charge leave, it’s only natural for the exchange talk to collapse, Yorn.” Lilith stated, her voice sharp with logic.
”…I was supposed to get a tour of the Albion Empire’s Baby Dragon Cafe from Yulize-san! I was so surprised she’d just graduated the moment I got there. We were finally going to be friends… Don’t you think that bratty little monkey is pulling the strings behind the Albion Empire’s drama, Lilith-senpai?” Yorn wondered aloud.
”Stop with those silly ideas. No matter how strong Shin Seyfried is, he can’t beat a Dragon-type. They’re the strongest species in the whole Alysphia (World), and that country has the Five Purple Dragons and Nova’s Army… It was some terrorist who kidnapped the Senate and disappeared, leaving the country leaderless. And now, the famous Lin Dracov clan is leading things again, just like a thousand years ago… Stop with the weird guesses. You’ll get us wiped out.” Lilith warned sternly.
PISH! (A quick, sharp flick echoed.)
”Ouch! That hurt… Why did you flick my forehead? That’s mean, Lilith-senpai.” Yorn complained, rubbing her head.
”I was just guiding you, that’s all… Now, hike up your skirt. I need to check the Pleasure Crest that brat branded on you. I’ll hike mine up too, of course, Yorn.” Lilith murmured, her tone softening.
”……Yes, Lilith-senpai.” Yorn whispered obediently.
”You big dummy… The rule is to call me Elder Sister when we’re alone… My Yorn.” Lilith corrected, her voice husky.
”…Yes… Elder Sister Lilith.” Yorn replied, her voice now a breathy admission.
……BZZZT! (The mirror signal cut out.)
I guess I shouldn’t watch the rest of that Forbidden Something-or-other. So that’s it! In this world (The Real World), Yorn-chan is on the Lilith-senpai route! It’s all forbidden love, huh?
”Well, forbidden love or not, I’ll be forcing Yorn-chan onto the Alexia route for the sake of avoiding my death flag, you know… Alright, let’s refocus. Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, show me which Perverts are acting suspicious next!”

Oh? Is that the Girls’ Dorm? Lala-chan looks like she’s fast asleep, but are Hollow and Karentisia-chan practicing wrestling?
”Swoosh… Swoosh… Shin-sama, I love you so much… Sniff…” Lala murmured softly in her sleep.
”Karentisia’s Elf ears… they’re truly beautiful, aren’t they? I’m going to lick them.” Hollow whispered, her voice low.
”Shhhyaah! ² Hollow… Just because we’re alone, don’t be so bold… What if Lala wakes up?” Karentisia gasped shyly.
”It’s fine. Lala won’t wake up from this little noise. More importantly, I’m sorry about today. I got so carried away in front of everyone and really swung at you… Did you manage to dodge it properly?” Hollow asked, her tone shifting to concern.
”Ah, yes, I did. It was a little scary, but I dodged it… Besides, I know Hollow would never actually hurt me seriously…” Karentisia replied, reassuringly.
”Karentisia…” Hollow breathed.
”Hollow…” Karentisia whispered.
Chu…! (A soft kiss sounded.)
……BZZZT! (The mirror signal cut out again.)
Wait, what?! Destiny! Did you just create that Coupling? Just because an Irregular like me is somehow surviving and getting along with Alexia and the Heroines—did the world’s distortion really cause Hollow and Karentisia-chan to get together?
”That’s a shocking twist… B-but, hey, as long as Alexia ends up with any of the Heroines, I get my Happy-Happy-Harpy ending, so I guess it’s fine if the Heroines couple up with each other… Yeah. Be happy, you two. Alright, moving on! Next, Mirror, Mirror, on the wall!”

”Shin-kun’s body is so small and cute! I’m going to wash every inch of you!” Alexia declared excitedly, her voice ringing out.
”Shin-sama! I’ll rub your body for you! Does that feel nice?” Layla-chan cooed sweetly.
”P-please stop! Dyufu! The greatest happiness for me is when Shin-sama gently washes my back, Dyufu!” Shin’s Double protested loudly.
…BZZZT! (The mirror signal cut out.)
…As usual, Alexia and Layla-chan are giving my body double, the Oathbook (Honorius)-kun, a full-body scrub in the bath. I get that sometimes, and it’s so embarrassing because our bodies keep touching in all sorts of places. Don’t Alexia and Layla-chan feel embarrassed?
”Thanks for always being my body double, ‘Oathbook (Honorius)’-kun. I won’t forget your sacrifice… Now, next!”

”Oh? So the Lax Empire has started searching for the former Saint Candidate again, you say, Professor Truman?” Alunote asked, his tone contemplative.
”Aye, Alunote… Apparently, a Lax follower claimed to have seen the Melektorc girl during the terrorist incident in the Albion Empire about six months ago.” Truman explained, sounding serious.
”Whether they were spreading their faith or just snooping around, that’s the question. And why bring this up to me?” Alunote inquired, his focus sharpening.
”Just a thought, that’s all… You have that student in your class, don’t you? The girl named Lala.” Truman noted, his voice dropping slightly.
”Hmm? Yes, she’s an exceptionally bright student. She’s always with Shin Seyfried and Nero, but what about her?” Alunote pressed.
”The rumor is that the student, Lala, is a genuine blood descendant of the Melektorc family. I’m worried about her. Now that the threat in the Albion Empire has calmed, the Lax Empire is reportedly looking for the noble children and Saint Candidates who went missing a few years ago. I just wanted to warn you to be careful so she doesn’t get kidnapped.” Truman concluded, a clear warning in his voice.
…BZZZT! (The mirror signal cut out.)
”Hmph… I appreciate the valuable information and the warning. This should make him more cautious.” Alunote mused to himself.
”Oh? Who are you referring to as him? I haven’t discussed this with anyone but you, Alunote.” Truman questioned, surprised.
”Oh, no, he was on the mirror. A real rascal ³ indeed. Now, I’m quite looking forward to seeing how that little devil will handle this latest situation.” Alunote chuckled, a hint of excitement in his voice.

(Shin and Lala’s Secret Room)
”So, the Lax Empire is moving to look for Lala-chan and the others, huh? Hmm. Okay, first things first, I’ll head to the Grimoire Grand Library’s Restricted Archive to research the Lax Empire. Twin Teleportation!”

I silently warped out of the Alys Magic Academy and headed straight for the Grimoire Grand Library in the Seyfried Territory.

Summary:
The Shadow Ruler of the Magic Academy, Shin Seyfried, uses his special True Mirror to peek into the secretive nighttime lives of his classmates and teachers. He observes funny and intense forbidden love pairings like the ‘perverted’ Seniors Harusu and Siris, and the surprising new Heroine pairing of Hollow and Karentisia!
But his surveillance also catches serious news: the Lax Empire is hunting for the missing Saint Candidate, a threat that directly involves Lala-chan. Now, to protect his peaceful life and avoid his death flag, Shin must quickly use his teleportation skills to research the danger and save his friends.

Shin Seyfried proves his Shadow Ruler role by using surveillance for both his own entertainment (judging the ‘perverts’) and for smart defense against big threats like the Lax Empire. Despite being focused on self-preservation and avoiding his death flag, he shows loyalty to Lala-chan by immediately acting to save her from kidnapping. He really thinks he is in charge of the world’s romance routes, which is very funny.

The Lugios Academy exchange program failed because the president, Yulize-san, was suddenly needed as a national leader, and the vice president went crazy looking for female Orcs. This chapter also shows that Shin’s presence as an Irregular is causing changes in the world’s relationships, leading to unexpected Yuri couplings like Hollow and Karentisia. Shin’s body double, the Oathbook, is sacrificing its dignity in the bath. Alunote, one of the teachers, knows about Shin’s mirror surveillance and is quietly entertained by the boy’s schemes.
