And that night was the most crucial, most revered Descension Festival this whole nation held. It was a mad ritual intended to summon the Heavenly Apostle by sacrificing one innocent young girl.
On the night of that very festival, four fierce life-or-death battles were erupting across the capital.

In the streets lined with white towers, the belfry of the Clock Tower chimed, its sound echoing across the town. Engaged in combat beneath it were a giant clad in silver armor and a world-weary old soldier.
”OOOOHHH! ¹” the Giant roared.
”…No consciousness left, are you? Even as a corpse, you still worship the Holy Maiden, eh? Farewell, old friend…” the veteran soldier muttered somberly. The old soldier blocked the gigantic spear the giant swung down with his own minuscule dagger, before launching a counterattack.
”UOOOHH!” the Giant shouted.

The Seraphim Grand Cathedral
Inside the sacred building dedicated to the Heavenly Apostle, the Current Dragon Kin Leader was locked in combat with a beautiful nun.
A sharp CRACK reverberated!
”Why in the world is the Supreme Leader of the Dragon Kingdom sneaking around in here?” the nun demanded.
”Well, I’m here to save ² my precious friend, of course! Hakua Ryūgi ³: ‘Albino Scale’… KISHAAAAAH!” the Dragon Kin Leader bellowed.

The Holy City Cemetery
Two young girls—a silver-haired tomboy beauty elegantly wielding a collection of golden axes, and a maid in pitch-black attire who expertly controlled her maid uniform—were engaged in a fierce sword fight against a young man dressed as a Holy Knight.
”I’ll be taking that beautiful girl for myself! All the wedding preparations are already complete. All that’s left is to exchange a kiss with her at tomorrow morning’s sunrise!” the Holy Knight declared arrogantly.
”Shin-kun is my precious, destined person! I don’t need any more rivals, no! And besides, Shin-kun has the proper parts. He’s a boy who looks like a girl!” Alexia shrieked possessively.
”Alexia-sama, we absolutely cannot let a pervert like this near Shin-sama! We must eliminate him here and now, definitely!” Layla cried out with fierce devotion.
”Ha! You’re joking again! Jealousy isn’t becoming when I’m about to steal the one I love! Such a terrible thing for one of the Sky Blood!” the Holy Knight taunted.
”I’m going to slaughter you… for Shin-kun!” Alexia snarled.

The Holy City’s Underground Cathedral
There stood a Saintess in pure white death shrouds, a being with pure white wings, and a boy wearing a black hood and mask.
”Shin-sama…” the Saintess whispered.
”Why is a child here? [Heavenly Spear]!” the winged being demanded coldly.
”Ah-hahaha! That’s simple! It’s because you lightly regard my precious daughter’s life and plan to use her as a sacrifice! Will you give her back? My precious Lala-chan, I mean?! Don’t think that just because you’re a Heavenly Apostle, you can get away with anything! Dark Magic—[Dark Lance]!” the masked boy screamed maniacally.
A tremendous BOOOM echoed!

These four battles were all caused by an event that happened a few weeks earlier: The disappearance of a single Saintess—a catalyst that plunged the Byakuya Descension Festival into a chaotic war.

Shin Seyfried’s Private Room in the Regain Kingdom Alys Magic Academy
”Shin-kun, you’re so cute!” Alexia cooed.
”Shin-sama truly does grow cuter with each passing day, doesn’t he?” Layla sighed dreamily.
”P-Please, both of you, stop it! I’m a boy! Those cute clothes don’t suit me, and I’m not going to wear them!” Shin protested desperately.
”Shin-kun! Tsk! You mustn’t defy your big sisters!” Alexia scolded sternly.
”That’s right, Shin-sama. Since you’re so adorable, you absolutely must dress up!” Layla added sweetly.
Dear beloved Father,
Half a year has already passed since the battle in the Albion Empire. And my foresight in constantly refusing to enroll in the Alys Magic Academy when I returned has surely been proven right.
For the last six months, my body hasn’t grown at all. In fact, I seem to be getting more and more lovely every day, just like my Mother.
In stark contrast, my roommate, Alexia Churidince, and my exclusive maid, Layla Crescent-chan, are growing into beautiful, adult young women every single day.

At the Alys Magic Academy, I’m still getting weird affection from seniors like Harusu Shubelt (the pervert), and Alexia, Layla-chan, and Hollow treat me like a dress-up doll every single day. I’m not some cute blonde gyaru ⁵ girl, you know!
I’m supposed to be Shin Seyfried, the villainous heir who stands against the protagonist (Alexia) and the other heroines! I’m the destined loser—the one who’s supposed to be tall, wear an evil smirk, and eventually get decapitated by Alexia, filled with her hatred.
But look at me now! I have this cutesy appearance. When I first enrolled in the academy, my reputation was terrible. I was called a brat and a wild monkey.
But since I removed the likes of Alice, the Student Council President, and the delinquent seniors, new troublemakers (Alexia, and the other heroines) have risen to power. They start huge brawls both inside and outside the school without a care, and Nero and I always have to calm them down.
Because of that, the teachers at Alys Magic Academy have started to trust me, and with my adorable looks, they’ve begun to absolutely dote on me! It’s the worst!
In contrast, Alexia and the heroines have become famous as the academy’s problem children throughout the Regain Capital. When we go into the city, people actually get scared of them—mostly because of Hollow, though.

”…Dufu? T-That voice! Is that the Toxic Beautiful Twins? You two? C-Could it be that Shin-sama swapped with me again without me knowing, dufu? That’s not fair at all~!” Harusu Shubelt squeaked in sudden terror.
Grab! Grab!
”Where do you think you’re going, Shin-kun? You’re going to take a bath with us right now!” Alexia demanded.
”Yes! Alexia-sama is correct! We’ll give you a thorough cleaning, Shin-sama!” Layla confirmed with crushing intensity.
”Ah, the pressure is too much! Someone help me! Shin-sama, come back, dufu~!” Harusu Shubelt wailed.

Shin and Lala’s Secret Room
”And! Successful escape!” Shin sighed. “I felt like I heard the shriek of Oathbook’s soul, but I guess it was just my imagination, right? Yeah… Huh? Wait. Lala-chan, were you in the secret room?”
”Heh?! S-Shin-sama?! When did you enter the room?” Lala gasped.
Huh? What’s wrong, Lala-chan? You were reading what looked like a letter and crying?
”…What happened, Lala-chan? Did someone do something to you?” Shin asked worriedly.
”N-No, this is just sweat, just sweat~ desuwa! Shin-sama… Please don’t worry, no harm will ever come to you, absolutely not,” Lala insisted formally.
”Harm? …Did something happen, Lala-chan?” Shin pressed.
”N-No, nothing… It’s quite late tonight, so I’ll return to the girls’ dormitory now… Good night, Shin-sama. I’ll see you again tomorrow morning,” Lala said softly.
”O-Okay. Good night… Lala-chan. See you tomorrow,” Shin replied.
”…Yes. My beloved Shin-sama.” Zzzzzz…
Lala-chan said that last part, then used spatial magic to return to her room in the girls’ dormitory. That was the last exchange Lala-chan and I had in the Regain Kingdom.
After that, we couldn’t meet often because of various separate matters.
…One week later, Lala-chan vanished from the Alys Magic Academy and was declared missing.
