The Holy City of Cerafu, within the Lax Empire
”Mary! There you are! I’ve been searching everywhere for you!” Yugio cried out, his voice laced with raw relief and panic.
”Elder Brother Yugio? What happened to the Eight Holy Cardinals’ mission? At this rate, the Lax family will be executed by His Holiness the Pope—” Mary pleaded, her tone shaky with fear.
”It seems our allies from other nations finally arrived,” Yugio breathlessly announced. “Fenrir (Female) somehow managed to pull it off.”
”Fenrir (Female)? Is that the Guardian Spirit of the Lax Family?” Mary wondered aloud, clearly confused.
”Yes, but forget that for now. We need to move quickly, before the Pope of Cerafu can crush us.”

”Ensure that the food supplies are distributed throughout the entire Lax Empire,” a Military Officer professionally instructed. “It’s at the request of the Holy Maiden (Shin-chan).”
”Understood,” Fenrir (Female) abrasively confirmed. “We thank you greatly, as envoys of the Lax Lord.”
”Hmph… I didn’t do anything special, you know,” Fenrir (Female) dismissed with a slight huff of self-importance. “If you want to give thanks, give it to the Holy Maiden (Shin-chan), who had the foresight to stockpile enough food for the entire Lax Empire for years. That Holy Maiden (Shin-chan) is truly, truly kind and merciful.”
”Y-Yes, sir! Our greatest gratitude to the Holy Maiden (Shin-chan), envoy of the Lax Lord! All together!” the Military Officer commanded.
”Our greatest gratitude to the Holy Maiden (Shin-chan), envoy of the Lax Lord!” the people resounded in a loud chorus.
”I’ve paid back the debt, Master. You, Master, will be praised for all eternity as the Holy Maiden Shin-chan who saved the Lax Empire from the famine,” a shadowy figure mused near Fenrir.
”Our greatest gratitude to the Holy Maiden (Shin-chan), envoy of the Lax Lord!” The cries of gratitude echoed.

”The Holy Maiden (Shin-chan) who saved the Lax Empire, huh?” a new voice muttered with a hint of admiration. “The citizens of Lax will never, ever forget their gratitude towards the Master. But what a waste. If you were to defeat the Pope of Cerafu and remain here, you could have become the king of this nation… Such a lack of ambition.”

Underground Altar
I put on the Mask of Recognition and the Cloth of Transformation—and just like that, the transformation was complete. Phew. Though, this new look makes me feel a bit like some kind of Joker 2.
”Shin-sama……”
’Why would a child be here? 3 Celestial Spear’ a voice boomed, dripping with arrogance.
”Aha-ha-ha! Why, that’s because you treated my precious daughter’s life like it was nothing and decided to make her a sacrifice… Could you please just give me back my precious Lala-chan, already?! Don’t think you’re allowed to do anything you want just because you’re a so-called Angel of Heaven! Dark Magic ‘Dark Lance’!”
A white, sticky spear, covered in what looked like mucus, shot out from the Fallen Angel’s wings. What a grotesque and incredibly slow attack, I thought.
”So, this is the ‘Fallen Angel’ of this world, huh? Hmm. The Evil Dragon 4 from six months ago felt stronger. Sacred Artifact Activation: ‘Princess’s Silver Blade’—Full Counter!”
I casually swung the Princess’s Silver Blade once, sending all of the Fallen Angel’s attacks right back at the sender.
”Huh? That’s one of the Seven Sacred Artifacts… GYAAAAAHHHH!!”
Was the Fallen Angel caught off guard? It screamed out, a sound like a death rattle, as its body exploded into tiny pieces. Well, I’m sure it’ll regenerate quickly, though.
”Luna-kun. You can escape with Lala-chan while I hold it off… I don’t want Lala-chan to see any more of this grotesque sight.”
“Nyaa! Understood, Master, nyaa!”
I called out Luna-kun, who had been waiting patiently in my right eye, and sent him off towards Lala-chan.
”Shin-sama’s appearance… he’s become such a muscular and brave gentleman,” Lala-chan sighed with admiration.
“Forget about that, nyaa! We need to escape this basement right now, Lala-nyan!” Luna-kun insisted, scrambling past her. Zoom!
”Luna-chan… but Shin-sama is still fighting. So I must stay here and fight, too!” Lala-chan countered, unwavering in her loyalty.
“Nyaa! There’s a time and place for fighting, and a difference in matchups, nyaa, Lala-nyan! You’re getting stronger, but you have the absolute worst compatibility with that Fallen Angel, nyaa… so leave this to the Master and escape with Luna, nyaa!”
”But I can’t abandon Shin-sama, who came to save me!” Lala-chan shouted, determined.
“W-Nyaahhh! Lala-nyan has been stubborn since forever, nyaa… it’s dangerous to stay here, nyaa! The Master is getting serious this time…” Luna-kun desperately pleaded.
Huh? Are Lala-chan and Luna-kun having an argument instead of escaping? This won’t do! I suppose I’ll have to step in.
”Lala-chan!” I called out.
”Y-Yes! What is it, my Shin-sama!” Lala-chan replied, instantly snapping to attention.
”Wait for me on the surface. I’ll end this fight quickly. Afterward, we can take a private vacation, just the two of us, while we travel back to the Regain Kingdom.”
”A private honeymoon trip for just the two of us, with our first night together waiting for us when we get back,” Lala-chan dreamy declared, her eyes sparkling.
”Um… that’s not quite right,” I chuckled.
“N-No way, nyaa! That’s an unbelievable misunderstanding, nyaa! Why does the Master always attract girls with such twisted ways of thinking, nyaa…” Luna-kun lamented.
CRUNCH!… CREAK!
“G-NYAAAAH! Lala-nyan! Stop it, nyaa! Why are you grabbing Luna’s cute little body with the strength of a vice 5?!”
”Ehehe… it’s so I can escape as quickly as possible, in order to have my first night with Shin-sama—desuwa. 6 For the honeymoon…” Lala-chan cheerfully explained.
”Twin Teleportation 7…” I muttered, activating the Sacred Artifact. Well. Since they weren’t going to escape willingly, it was faster to just blast them to the surface. “…And I suppose the Fallen Angel is fully regenerated now, huh?”
[I REMEMBERED… Three and a half years ago, Alice (Night) suddenly vanished. Six months ago, the Evil Dragon (Luva) also went missing due to the Albion Empire’s coup d’état. Was all of it your doing, Child of Heresy?] the Fallen Angel thundered, its voice now cold and accusatory.
The Fallen Angel’s body is completely back. It looks like a Sacred Artifact that hasn’t released its true power yet won’t be enough to take it down.

• Albion Empire – A nation to the east of Regain where dragonkind is revered as divine. It is currently locked in ‘bloody, territorial chaos’ with the new Demon King’s forces in Schwert.
