Chapter 79 A Yandere Maid’s Magic Collar and the Elf Princess’s Forgiveness

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

”Well, it’s not like it matters much now, is it?¹ It’s a thing of the past,” Karentisia huffed, her voice still a little flustered. “You’re right, Fenrir. It’s better that I don’t keep a dangerous Sacred Artifact like that. It needs to be freed.”

Freed? What in the world is Karentisia-chan talking about, I wondered?

”At last, the brainwashing from that thing is starting to fade… Indeed. Instead of that dangerous Sacred Artifact, the one that Princess Karen ought to possess is the ‘Fairy’s Bridal Gown’,” the Guardian Beast declared in a powerful, regal tone. “When we return to the Regain Kingdom, my master and I shall cooperate to begin the search.”

”Huh? Are you sure about that? That would mean breaking the Royal Law, Fenrir,” Karentisia asked, her ruby eyes wide with concern.

”I merely wish to wipe clean the slate of my Master Shin’s negligence. The Guardian Beast of the Sea of Trees, Fenrir, declares here and now that it will follow Princess Karen,” the great wolf announced with finality.

”Fenrir… following me?! I see. In that case, maybe I can forgive the Dumb Dog (Shin) after all,” Karentisia mused, a small, triumphant smirk playing on her lips. “Do you think we’ll find the ‘Fairy’s Bridal Gown’?”

”It must be somewhere in the Regain Kingdom. We have no choice but to search.”

The ‘Fairy’s Bridal Gown’? Is that like the Bride of the Heavens kind of thing? I don’t know what’s going on, but does this mean Karentisia-chan is actually going to forgive me? I got a free pass! A free pass! This is great!

”…Fine. Dumb Dog—no, Shin,” Karentisia said, folding her arms and pointedly looking away, clearly embarrassed. “I’m making a special exception and letting bygones be bygones. So, from now on, you will support me as my loyal hound! And if you return the clothes and underwear you stole from me, I’ll forgive everything.”

That’s what she said, blushing bright red as she turned her face away… I won! She forgave me! I’m a free man!

”Karentisia-chan… Yes! Thank you very much! From now on, I intend to wag my tail like Karentisia-chan’s loyal hound, woof woof!” I practically cheered.

”Sh-Shin… Hmph! Hmph! I’m only doing this because you’ve been a help to me at the Magic Academy, that’s all! I’m just making an exception, so don’t get the wrong idea,” she huffed, her blush deepening.

The blush-and-fluster combo from the Tsundere Elf was the absolute best!

”Yes, thank you very much, Karentisia-cha—”

 CLANK!

”Huh? Wait… what? Why is there an iron collar clamped around my neck?” I stammered, utterly confused.

”Yes! This is what I obtained from that suspicious magic tool shop over there to restrain my cheating Shin-sama,” a smiling, yet terrifying, Layla-chan announced. Her brow was twitching, and she appeared before us holding a weapon that looked like a terrifying combination of a mace and a chain-sickle. The sheer pressure she gave off was intense! I was scared!

”Oh, really? You bought it at that suspicious magic tool shop? Let’s see…” Karentisia said, curiously peering at the new device. “Wow! This magic tool, this dog collar thing, it controls the wearer’s magic and actions? That’s dangerous, isn’t it?”

”Yes! With this, I’ll be regulating Shin-sama’s movements from now on. The Madam even told me to control Shin-sama if he ever became uncontrollable,” Layla said with that sickeningly sweet smile.

”The Madam? You don’t mean… my Mother, do you?” I questioned, my voice now shaking.

”Yes… If I press this, a current flows, doesn’t it? Click,” Layla said, completely ignoring my terror and pressing a button.

”W-wait?! GYA AA AA!” I screamed in pure agony as the magic surge hit me.

”Sh-Shin?! Are you okay?! Layla! What do you think you’re doing all of a sudden?” Karentisia cried out, genuinely alarmed.

”Ah, Master… Blast! So, Master’s mother was Chris. In that case, I can help the current Master,” Fenrir said to itself, its voice now resolute. “Farewell for now, Master. We shall meet again another day!”

”Wait! Fenrir! Where are you going?! Are you going to just leave Shin here?” Karentisia shouted, her voice edged with desperation.

”…Hehehe. Shin-sama, let us return to the Alys Magic Academy,” Layla purred, stepping closer. “You must atone for this little adulterous trip and your past crimes of sexual harassment against Karentisia-sama, you see.”

”…L-Layla-chan. What have you become…?” I mumbled, watching my freedom disappear.

And so, while Alexia and Karentisia-chan might have forgiven me for the Lala incident and my past sexual harassment, I ended up getting restrained and captured by the incredibly suspicious Layla-chan using one of her suspicious magic tools.

 Summary:

Just when Shin, the villainous heir, thought he was finally free after securing a flustered forgiveness from the Tsundere Elf Princess Karentisia—who, with the help of the regal Guardian Beast Fenrir, resolved to search for the powerful ‘Fairy’s Bridal Gown’—his brief moment of triumph shattered. A terrifying, sweetly smiling Layla, his yandere maid, appeared wielding a bizarre weapon and a magical iron collar. Shin’s ‘adulterous trip’ had not gone unnoticed, and he was abruptly seized and controlled by the powerful magic tool, all under the mysterious direction of ‘The Madam,’ seemingly his own mother, Chris. His short-lived freedom was over, trading one antagonist for a far more menacing, controlling one.

 —

 Character Insight:

Shin’s relief is short-lived, showing his constant state of paranoia and bad luck, confirming his role as the perpetually-suffering protagonist. Karentisia’s true, softer side is revealed as she genuinely accepts him back, yet her flustered Tsundere nature makes the moment endearing. Layla, the Yandere Maid, escalates her control to a new level, using a horrifying Magic Collar to assert her ownership and enforce rules, linking her actions directly to the mysterious ‘Madam’ (Chris).

 —

 Behind the Scene:

The scene acts as a fake-out ending, resolving the conflict with Karentisia and Fenrir only to introduce a far greater, and more immediately terrifying, threat in Layla. The mention of Shin’s Mother, Chris, as the one pulling the strings behind the maid’s control adds a layer of complexity and foreshadows a bigger struggle with powerful figures in the Magic Academy world. The plot shifts focus from ‘forgiveness’ to ‘escape and control,’ setting the stage for the next major fantasy arc, ‘Sea of Trees of the Fairy.’

 —

 T/L:

1 ‘The past’ refers to Shin’s previous acts of sexual harassment and his involvement with another girl.

Notes:

• Lala – Delusional saint candidate from the Lax Empire who becomes fanatically devoted to Shin, founding a religion in his name and often speaking with the quirky suffix ‘~desuwa’
