…Did the heroine of the story, my absolute favorite girl, just casually suggest something utterly crazy? Still, I ain’t got any allies in this situation, so getting Alexia on my side is a must-have.
”I-I understand, Alexia… I promise that when we return to Alys Magic Academy, I will sleep in the same bed with you—and only me naked, while you remain clothed.” I took both of Alexia’s hands and gently squeezed them, like a true gentleman. Treating her like a refined lady always makes Alexia easier to win over.
”Hawawa! ² I’m so happy, Shin-kun! Starting tonight, you’ll only sleep with me, no yo. It’s a promise!” she cried out.

”Calm yourself, Karentisia-hime,” Fenrir urged, her voice measured. “The Master ain’t acting out of malice, I figure. Besides, why are you so angry about a childish mischief from his youth?”
”Mind your own business, if you would, Fenrir,” Karentisia snapped, her tone haughty. “My lapdog, my pet, played a trick on me, its master! I must punish him. And that Sacred Artifact, which is so important to me, the lapdog has it!”
”The Sacred Artifacts choose their own masters… and I warned you to simply toss that artifact away,” Fenrir dismissed, a hint of exasperation in her voice.
”T-that Sacred Artifact is precious to us, the Royal Family, don’t you know! Just because you’re the Guardian Beast of the Sea of Trees, why do you get to tell me what to do?” Karentisia challenged.
”…Just stop getting involved with the ‘Princess’s Silver Blade,’” Fenrir firmly advised. “If the Master manages it, the King of the Fairies won’t interfere so easily. It’s safer that way.”
”Why would the King not interfere just because the lapdog (Shin) is managing it?”
”We’ll talk about that later at my tavern… Ah, wait, Princess Karen. The Master looks like he wants to apologize over there. Just make up with him for now. He looks uncomfortable, doesn’t he?”
”The lapdog (Shin)? He thinks that attitude is enough for me to forgive him? You lapdog…” she muttered.
While Fenrir and Karentisia-chan were arguing, I successfully completed my preparations.
It’s my ultimate survival skill, my true identity that even some student council president out there would surely approve of: the Dogeza, crawling and prostrating myself on the ground!

Hee hee hee! Good! It’s working! My heartfelt apology—or the very convincing performance of one—is piercing Karentisia-chan’s pure, kind heart.
Even that certain student council president is probably smiling right now. I’ve dodged the ‘scorched earth’ dogeza! One more little push and I’ll have Karentisia-chan completely won over.

Shin’s strategy is to isolate and emotionally manipulate his targets, which is why securing Alexia’s forgiveness first, even at the cost of a slightly compromising sleeping arrangement, was crucial before tackling the harder target, Karentisia, who is being rationalized by Fenrir.

• Right – An upperclassman frustrated with ten-year-old Alexia’s presidency who initially supported Lilith (‘Lili-tan’) for the role. He represents the ‘cute girl fetish’ faction, rips up the magic paper in anger, and engages in heated debates with Left about the academy’s bizarre political landscape and student obsessions.
• Fim – The Pope Cera’s chief aide and the de facto second-most powerful man in the Lax Empire. Yellowish hair. He is a self-important, theatrical man with a perverted obsession with the young hero, Shin. He wears expensive suits, which are quickly destroyed when he transforms. His loyalty is twisted and ultimately self-serving, seeing the Empire as his personal playground.
