Chapter 10 A Fateful Encounter by the Lake’s Edge Dark Desire and Sudden Violence
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
I pushed through the tall, coarse grass, and finally, the lake appeared right in front of me… but my eyes weren’t fixed on the water; they were locked onto the figure standing at the shore.
”…Ami-chan!?” I reflexively flinched.
Standing there was a woman with golden-blonde hair. She had placed a longsword beside her and was squatting right where she was, her back to me. She was, quite literally, relieving herself.
The smell of waste, carried on the wind, hit my nostrils sharply. She hadn’t noticed me yet. I could clearly hear the sound of her urine splashing onto the earth.
Even with her back turned, her legs were spread wide, giving me a clear view of her exposed backside.
I’d never seen a woman in the act before, and I just knew this sight would be burned into my brain for the rest of my life.
”Whoa! Fancy meeting someone out here, wouldn’t you say!” Ami-chan chirped, her voice far too loud.
”Wha—?! N-n-n-no way—!?” The woman gasped, clearly startled.
Ami-chan! Why did you have to shout? I was enjoying a silent, gentlemanly observation period!
Startled by the voice directly behind her, the woman flinched a bit, even while mid-stream. Then, she twisted her neck to look back at us.
”…Huh!!” I stared.
Wow… she was incredibly beautiful.
Her large, sharp blue eyes were practically shining, and they were wide open right now, staring back at me. Her golden hair was styled with long side-locks that framed her face, and the rest was pulled up into a knot on the crown of her head.
I could see the exhaustion etched onto her face, and her clothes were filthy. But still… there was this undeniable air of nobility, a born-rich aura, you know? It was overwhelming.
If she had been in my junior high or high school class, she would have definitely ruled the top of the social hierarchy. She was the type of person I would never have had anything to do with. I understood that immediately, just by instinct.
To see someone like that, a total “normie” princess, in a state of embarrassed panic, legs spread and still peeing—it was more than enough to satisfy my darkest desires.
Ami-chan had once told me that satisfying my urges by crushing the dignity of others was the fastest way to accumulate more Ego Points…
Here I was, a guy like me, getting an eyeful of an absolutely gorgeous, aristocratic woman in a moment of pure, raw indignity. I felt an incredible sense of depravity, and I knew I was actively crushing her dignity right now.
And this rush… damn, it was intense! I think I could get used to this! I want to crush her pride even more!
”W-who are you…!? Why is a person in a place like this…? No, no! Don’t look! Avert your eyes!” she demanded, her voice shaking.
”Well, ma’am… I’d say it’s pretty suspicious for someone to be here, too. You’ve got a sword, and if I turn my back, there’s a risk of you just slashing me, so I can’t exactly not look at you now, can I?” I reasoned back smoothly.
”Ugh…!” she choked out.
She knew the feeling was mutual; she couldn’t turn her back on me either. So she had no choice but to keep staring at me, still urinating.
Which meant her spread legs were still completely visible. The sight of a real, live female genitalia… that was a first for me!
Naturally, even in this terrible situation, I had a tent pitching in my groin.
And now I was sure. Ami-chan’s prediction of a turning point in my fate? It was absolutely tied to this woman.
I watched her finish the entire act. But the second she was done, she pulled up her undergarments, snatched her longsword immediately, and quickly drew the blade.
Uh oh… wait, is this turning into a seriously bad situation?
”You… and a fairy…? Who exactly are you? Why are you in this Demon Forest? This is deep in the territory… there shouldn’t be any people here,” she pressed, the point of her blade steady.
”Well, even if you ask us that…” I mumbled, genuinely worried.
Damn it! To her, I was nothing but a suspicious weirdo who had just watched her private moment! If I gave the wrong answer now, she wouldn’t hesitate to swing that sword. Maybe the fate Ami-chan saw was me being cut down by this beautiful lady!
”We live around here! Who are you?!” Ami-chan shot back impulsively.
”Live around here…? That’s a transparent lie! Who would willingly choose a place like the Demon Forest, let alone this deep within it, as a residence?” she scoffed, her voice dripping with disbelief.
”We do!” Ami-chan insisted hotly.
Well, it was true that us setting up base here was mostly by chance, but still…
Looking at her again, I wondered if she was a Knight or something similar. Her clothing had the markings of a fantasy-game knight’s uniform, and her longsword was covered in rich ornamentation, definitely not cheap junk.
And the way she held the blade now… she looked perfectly capable. She must have spent years training with a sword.
”…If you really live here, do you have any food…?” she asked slowly, her guard still up.
”Huh? Oh, uh, yeah. Meat, nuts, fruit, water, all that…” I answered carefully.
”…”
We fell into a strained silence. This was my first time having a lethal weapon pointed right at me, and I was genuinely scared.
A thunderous, grinding ROAR broke the quiet.
”Sh*t!!” I shouted.
”What?!” she yelled.
The silence was shattered by the Demon Monster’s cry. Suddenly appearing was the same lion-headed beast we’d met on the first day.
”H-help!!” I cried out.
”Damn it…! Was it tracking me by my scent?!” she cursed.
Looking closely, this one was a whole size bigger than the one we’d first met. Its mouth was full of impressive, wicked fangs.
But I noticed a wound on its right foreleg. The blood wasn’t dried yet; it was fresh.
”W-w-what should we do?!” I stammered.
* * *
This is humiliating…! Not only was I spied on during my private moment by a suspicious man, but now I’m cornered by a Gardaarn here!
And to make it worse, its first roar completely threw off the flow of my Magic Power. It will take time to re-establish the correct balance.
That man has no weapons and no Magic Power. He’s completely non-combatant.
(I can’t die here…! Not after everything…!) her inner voice screamed.
The Gardaarn, a lion-headed demon monster that nests in the deep Demon Forest. The adults are notorious for their specialized roar that can disrupt a target’s Magic Power, making them a natural enemy for any sorcerer.
I stumbled upon this specific one when I first entered the forest. I managed to escape thanks to the ability of my Sacred Sword’s treasure jewel, but that just led me deeper into the woods.
The Gardaarn was focused on me, not the man. Of course it was. I was the one who injured that front paw.
”ROOOOAAAAARRRR!!” the beast bellowed.
”Agh!” I cried.
It seemed to teleport in front of me and swung a huge foreleg. Still unable to gather my Magic Power, I couldn’t dodge the blow.
I managed to block it with my sword, but the weight difference was enormous. My body was tossed aside toward the man, like a cat batting away a small ball.
”Ahhh!!” I shrieked.
It hurt! I hadn’t eaten a proper meal in days, so my body had no strength to fight back!
My only choice was to somehow divert the Gardaarn’s attention to this man, use the distraction to re-balance my Magic Power, and then run!
As I thought this, the sneering face of my older sister, the First Princess, flashed into my mind.
“So you, too, are willing to expend a commoner for your own sake. What, pray tell, is the difference between us?” her voice seemed to echo.
”…No!” I gasped.
I’m not like my sister!
I forced my trembling body to stand. The Gardaarn would lunge at me in the very next second.
”H-hey! Let’s call the Maid!” the man shouted nervously.
”That’s our last resort! The Points are too valuable! Shou, let’s use that Skill we made this morning!” Ami-chan exclaimed with sudden inspiration.
The man and the fairy were exchanging an absurd conversation. Why, in this critical moment, were they talking about summoning a Maid?
”RAAAAAHHHH!!!” the beast screamed as it launched its final attack.
”No!” I yelled.

I had completely lost my chance to escape. At this point, I had to prepare for the inevitable.
Just as I was about to ready my sword, the man raised his arm toward the charging Gardaarn.
”Water Splendor Flash!”
It couldn’t have lasted even two seconds. But I saw it clearly: something shiny and fast shot out from the man’s fingertip.
What exactly…? I wondered, but before I could finish the thought—
”…Eh?“
The Gardaarn that was lunging at me was split cleanly, in half. Literally. The cut was so perfectly flat, bone and all, that it looked like a work of abstract art.
This was impossible with a sword, and even sorcery would have left some trace. But the Gardaarn’s body was divided perfectly symmetrically, as if it had been two pieces all along.
”Oh…” I whispered.
A moment later, a massive amount of blood burst from the cut, and the two halves of the beast crashed onto the ground. It looked like the monster had just realized it was dead and was only then spurting blood in a panic.
Which meant, of course… it was dead.
A vicious Demon Monster, the kind that a whole Knight Order might struggle to defeat after several casualties, was slain by a single man.
”Wow… that’s amazing. It really is magic…” I heard the man marvel.
”Such incredible power! An one-hit kill! The velocity is insane; there’s no way to dodge or defend against that!” Ami-chan analyzed excitedly.
It seemed the man truly was the one who defeated it.
His conversation with the fairy was still completely baffling, but perhaps, given this incredible display of power, it wasn’t so strange that he lived deep within this forest.
…No, wait. It was still extremely strange. There was no logical reason to live in a place with zero trade or human contact.

She has light blue hair tied in a ponytail, mischievous blue eyes, and tiny wings that flutter behind her. Her outfit consists of a provocative high-cut leotard and a short jacket that looks like a miniskirt from the back, leaving her legs bare.
