Chapter 144 The Staff of Perversion

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

”Marsetta-san! This… please look at this circuit!”

The day after she had indulged in self-pleasure while holding Kento’s staff, Satsuki went to visit Marsetta, her senior among the court mages. Her goal was to show her the magic circuit engraved on the staff.

Of course, she didn’t have the courage to show the actual object she had licked all over and rubbed against her chest and crotch, so she brought a simplified diagram she had transcribed onto paper.

”Hmm, what are you talking about exactly…?” Marsetta asked.

”It’s about that ultra-compact flame-enhancement magic circuit we talked about yesterday!” Satsuki replied.

”Ah, I was half-asleep then. Sorry, but if such a convenient circuit actually existed, we wouldn’t be having such a hard time, would we?”

Marsetta scratched her messy hair while feigning ignorance. It seemed that yesterday’s conversation had been nothing more than idle chatter to her.

Certainly, it would be an effective solution if it could be realized, but the possibility of actually achieving it was remarkably low. That was why Marsetta, now back to her senses, apologized to her junior for having indulged in such dull talk, however…

”It exists! Conveniently! Right here!” Satsuki declared.

”Eh? You’re kidding. If such a perverted circuit existed so easily, we wouldn’t… wait, it really exists!?”

It was the magic circuit written on the paper handed to her by Satsuki. Marsetta deciphered it half-doubtingly, but it was indeed a perverted magic circuit that seemed capable of producing the exact effect they were seeking.

At that moment, three emotions welled up in Marsetta’s heart. First, pure joy. The problem she had been agonizing over was being solved; there was no way she wouldn’t be happy.

Second, intellectual curiosity. As someone striving to master the study of magic, she couldn’t help but feel excited by this circuit that embodied a new theory, even in this situation.

And finally, the third emotion—the one that occupied the largest part of her heart. Because of it, her reaction to her junior, Satsuki, ended up like this:

 ”Ugh, gross…”

In other words, she was totally creeped out. Marsetta instinctively distanced herself from Satsuki. After all, no matter how you looked at it, the magic circuit could only be described as the work of a pervert.

Every single line and every accompanying magic character was written in so densely it seemed as if the creator harbored a deep hatred for empty space, yet it was established with abnormal precision. It was the work of someone possessed by an obsession, something an ordinary mage would never touch even if they thought of it.

In reality, it was a joke-like circuit Kento had made out of boredom while minding the shop, but to Marsetta, who had been handed the finished product out of the blue, the creator didn’t seem sane at all.

”Wh-What’s with that reaction! It’s the circuit you ordered, isn’t it?! Please be happy!” Satsuki cried.

”No, well, it is, but… I’m really not good with things where small details are all swarming together like this… Ugh, wow…”

It was a reaction Kento would have called “trypophobia.” Marsetta glanced at it again and, as if picking up something filthy, held the paper with her fingertips and moved it away from herself.

”You don’t have to go that far. The country might be saved thanks to this, you know?!” Satsuki argued.

”Well, that’s true… But anyway, where did you get something like this? It’s not the kind of thing you can just write overnight.”

”Well, um, this circuit was used on a part of a staff produced by the owner of the magic tool shop ‘Harvest’¹…”

 ”Ah, I see.”

Marsetta nodded with a face that said it all made sense. Ever since Her Majesty became obsessed with that shop’s products, a ‘Ddo-Buddy’² boom had arrived at the royal palace. She herself was a prominent ‘Ddo-Buddy’ user, but she had always thought that the magic toolmaker who created such items had a completely different brain from her own.

There was a strange persuasiveness to the idea that such a person might indeed create a magic circuit that defied common sense. Thanks to that, her disgust was somewhat mitigated, and Marsetta found herself becoming interested in this “staff.”

”Alright. Then, for now, let’s assume we’ll manufacture the new ‘Hot-Shot-kun’³ based on this circuit… Can you show me the actual staff?” Marsetta asked.

 ”Eek?! Wh-Why?!” Satsuki shrieked.

At Marsetta’s unexpected request, Satsuki let out a strangled voice. Needless to say, she was hesitant to show anyone else the staff she had made her lover for a night.

”Well, I could technically make it with just this, but I might miss something. Besides, if you only show me a part of it, I’m going to want to see the whole thing.”

 ”Th-That might be true, but…”

Marsetta’s reasoning was sound. Satsuki found herself at a loss for words. Surely, if she were in Marsetta’s position, she would think the same thing, but that didn’t mean she wanted her to observe the object she had rubbed against her chest and crotch.

She had heard rumors that during the infamous Inquisition incident, the women of the Beast-person Association had apparently staged a protest while boldly brandishing ‘Ddo-Buddy’ units…

”Ah, is that it? Don’t worry, I won’t go borrowing it and claiming it as my own achievement. Besides, if I were to announce it, it wouldn’t be persuasive, and if I plagiarized it, I’d be found out immediately.”

 ”N-No, that’s not the issue…”

With her unconsidered concerns being dismissed, Satsuki’s avenues of retreat were being blocked one by one. Driven into a corner, she decided to seek help from someone other than herself.

”Oh, right! This… it doesn’t belong to me! The one who brought this staff in was an Elf adventurer named Tania!”

”Tania! You mean that Tania? Perfect, I’ve always wanted to meet the legendary Elf, the ancestor of our country’s mages. It’s fine, I’ll negotiate with her directly, so Satsuki, just introduce us.”

 ”Ah, ugh…”

In the end, she was overruled, and Satsuki found herself forced to introduce Tania to Marsetta…

* * *

”It’s an honor to meet you, Tania-sama,” Marsetta said with a bow.

”Mmph, there is no need to be so formal. I am currently just an ordinary adventurer,” Tania replied.

”No, please allow me to show my respect as one who follows in your footsteps. Your many legends are still passed down among the court mages.”

”Heh, I hope they aren’t stories of recklessness or infamy.”

”Not at all. They serve as a reminder of how a mage should be…”

Tania and Marsetta faced each other cheerfully. However, Satsuki, who was about to have her ‘companion’ inspected, watched the scene alone while breaking out in a massive cold sweat.

 ”U-Um, Tania-san? About that staff…” Satsuki stammered.

”Ah, you said Kento’s circuit was needed to counter the enemy.”

”R-Right! So surely we can’t show the actual thing, can we?!”

”What are you saying? If this is the only solution, we have no choice but to let the person in charge see it…” Tania said calmly.

And unfortunately, contrary to her wish, Tania casually took the staff out of her bag and handed it to Marsetta.

 ”Ah, ahhh…!” Satsuki cried out.

”Why such a reaction, as if it’s the end of the world… It shouldn’t matter if we just show it to her. I’ve washed it thoroughly, after all.”

”Washed it…?” Marsetta asked, tilting her head.

”Th-That’s between us! Please don’t worry about it…!” Satsuki interjected quickly.

Satsuki screamed, Tania remained indifferent, and Marsetta tilted her head in confusion. Thus, the staff was gripped in Marsetta’s hand. Satsuki covered her face and watched through the gaps in her fingers with a pained expression.

”Haa… the real thing is even more amazing… This circuit is so elaborate. It’s almost as if it’s saying, ‘If I go this far, I’ll surprise everyone, won’t I?’”

”Ah, he actually said something similar. He called it a ‘work that would make anyone marvel and stand agape.’ He’s a man who can’t do things halfway, or rather, he gives his all even just to kill time…” Tania explained.

 ”To kill time…?”

”Yes, he made it as a distraction while minding the shop. In his case, that does not mean he cut corners.”

 ”I see…”

As they spoke, Marsetta brought her face close to inspect the staff. Satsuki felt her face turning beet red as the very parts she had rubbed her chest against and licked yesterday were being observed in detail. Was there any strange smell left? She was terrified that Marsetta’s nose might start twitching.

Fortunately, perhaps because Marsetta was focused on deciphering the circuit, no such thing happened. But when she lifted her face, Satsuki couldn’t help but exhale loudly and almost collapsed weakly.

”What on earth is the matter with you…” Marsetta asked.

 ”N-No, it’s nothing, really…”

”Well, whatever. Anyway, it looks like we can resolve the shortage of magic power with this. We’ll start manufacturing the new ‘Hot-Shot-kun’ immediately. If you’d like, Tania-sama, would you care to assist us…?”

After rebuking her junior, who for some reason was looking pathetic, Marsetta turned back to Tania. However, Tania slowly shook her head in refusal.

”It’s a kind offer, but I’ll pass. I think it’s better for me to carry out my patrol duties properly.”

”Is that based on your experience as one who has continued to protect this country, Tania-sama?”

”No, it’s a more realistic matter. Rumors of the ‘Pink Devil’ have been spreading little by little…”

That was the name of a warning passed down in the territory of Duke Badcage. The captured enemy soldiers called them the mysterious group known as the “Pink Clan.” The emergence of an uncertain military force can sometimes bring about fatal results.

”I cannot afford to let my guard down right now.”

Tania said this while picturing her lover and his slaves whom she had left behind in the royal capital.

 —

 Summary:

Satsuki brings a diagram of Kento’s complex magic circuit to her senior, Marsetta, to solve a magic power shortage. Marsetta is both impressed and disturbed by the ‘perverted’ complexity of the circuit, which Kento made out of boredom. Despite Satsuki’s embarrassment, Marsetta insists on seeing the actual staff, which Tania provides without hesitation. While Marsetta prepares to build new magic tools, Tania declines to help further, citing the mysterious ‘Pink Devil’ rumors as a reason to stay on high alert.

 —

 Character Insight:

Satsuki’s internal conflict highlights her transition from a serious mage to a ‘Ddo-Buddy’ enthusiast, showing the psychological toll of keeping her secret. Marsetta represents the ‘professional’ perspective, where even her disgust at the circuit’s complexity is overridden by its undeniable utility. Tania’s refusal to help with production shows her strategic mind; she prioritizes the actual defense of the realm over research, sensing the shift in the geopolitical landscape caused by Kento’s products.

 —

 Behind the Scene:

The ‘Pink Devil’ and ‘Pink Clan’ are references to the users of Kento’s adult goods who have inadvertently become a terrifying force on the battlefield due to the unexpected side effects or power levels of his ‘toys’.

 —

 T/L:

1 Harvest: The name of Kento’s shop, which translates to ‘fruitful results’ but in this context refers to his collection of magic/adult items.

2 Ddo-Buddy: A brand of magic adult toys sold at Kento’s shop, often used by high-ranking officials in secret.

3 Hot-Shot-kun: A localized name for a specific magic tool or weapon, likely intended to be mass-produced for the military.

4 Beast-person Association: An organization representing non-human demi-humans, known here for a bold public demonstration.

5 Duke Badcage: A high-ranking noble whose territory is currently the source of alarming military rumors.

Notes:

• Marsetta – A senior court mage and specialist in magical weaponry. She has disheveled hair tied back, wears glasses, and has deep dark circles under her eyes from lack of sleep. She hasn’t eaten in two days and is under heavy pressure to find a countermeasure for the enemy’s weapons.

• Satsuki – A talented Court Mage who was forced to analyze the shop’s adult magic tools. Miranda’s granddaughter. Now she’s the new worker at Harvest, a development she finds both humiliating and surprisingly fulfilling due to the rapid progress in her research under Kento’s guidance. Has long black hair, palace mage robe, and staff.

• Kento – The owner of the magic tool shop ‘Harvest,’ which discretely sells adult goods. He’s a former overworked, ordinary salaryman from modern Japan who was suddenly transported (isekai’d) to this fantasy world. He has dark hair and an unremarkable appearance, typically wearing a plain, slightly suspicious-looking shop owner’s clothes looks like Kazuma Satou from certain series. He has a minimal amount of magic power, enough to craft his specialty items.

• Tania – An Elf adventurer who, despite her race’s reputation for low sex drive, is secretly quite passionate. She initially seemed ‘wasted’ (emotionally dry) to her friend Raika, but was easily introduced to the pleasure-items sold at ‘Harvest.’ She is easily embarrassed and attempts to maintain a dignified facade, despite her recent, frequent purchases. She wears practical but light armor over a simple cloth tunic and short pants, highlighting her grace and agility. Her primary relationship is one of friendly senior-junior with Raika.
