Chapter 205 The Hope and Salvation of All Living Beings Throughout the World

Several weeks have passed since Momo was born. It has been a very busy time. Many people came to our home to bring gifts and kind words, or they sent letters to celebrate with us.
Roughneck adventurers and their wives, guild staff, and people from the back-alley streets (aka the town) all visited. My two masters and their friends came too, along with business partners from the Tasogare Merchant Guild¹ and the Garou Merchant Guild². Even people from the Church of Demon-Subjugation³ and the monastery reached out.
And of course, there were the customers who love our shop’s goods. Regular customers heard the news from somewhere, and the noble or upper-class clients put a lot of effort into their visits. We even got a gift from Her Majesty the Queen….
I remember when Her Majesty’s maid, Muse-san, brought a birth gift as a proxy for the Queen.
”I have a message from Queen Cecile,” Muse-san said. “‘If you were a normal noble, I would give you a rank, find you a wife, or give you a royal treasure. But as usual, I don’t know what you want, and I don’t know what commoners give for babies! Anyway, I had the royal furniture maker build a baby bed, so use it if you need to!’… or something like that.”
”A-Ah, thank you very much…? ” I replied.
I was given a very stylish, high-quality baby bed. It was probably made by the same craftsman who made the desk in the office Her Majesty always uses.
Among all the gifts, this is surely the most expensive one. I think other people chose smaller gifts because they know our house is not that big. They knew big items would just sit in the warehouse.
Still, we plan to have more kids in the future, so a strong bed like this is a good thing to have. Maybe it will become a Harvest family treasure passed down for years….
Another good gift was the stroller from my alchemy teacher, the old man Kogima. He really loves kids, so the stroller is smooth and doesn’t shake. It stays comfortable in the heat or cold. I want to use this for a long time too.
Some people gave cash because they said money is the most helpful gift. Others gave practical things like diapers. Since paper diapers don’t exist here, these hand-sewn diapers are full of heart and make me very happy.
More than the gifts, I am just happy everyone is blessing Momo. Everyone who sees her face says she is so cute. Even though she was just born, she charms everyone. She is truly my daughter.
”Momo-chan is so cute, isn’t she—っ! Her cheeks are so squishy! Was she Mochi-chan instead of Momo-chan!? Haa, so cute…. The cutest in the whole world…. An angel…”
Yes. That is me, currently a total doting father. After work, I wash my hands and fix my clothes before I am allowed to see Lady Momo as she sleeps in the royal bed. Then I just stay there and look at her.
”Master…. I know she is cute, but you are sticking to her too much. You do this every minute you aren’t working…?” Lily asked.
I was scolded by the great Lady Lily, who carried Momo-sama and brought her into this world. But I can’t help it.
Momo-chan is an angel who came to earth, so I must take care of her life here. I am working less now, and even though I can’t produce milk, I want to do everything else for her.
I have to stay right by her side so I can help at any time…! Or really, I just think she’s cute and want to watch her forever.
”Hmm, but I understand how Kento feels. Momo-chan is impossibly cute, after all…. I’ve seen many babies, but were they always this cute?” Laika said.
”Umu, this is the first time I’ve thought a baby was this cute too…. Is this a maternal instinct? Maybe it’s because she is the child of Lady Lily and Kento…” Tania added.
That’s right! Laika, the dog-beastman, and Tania, the elf, are both totally in love with Momo. All the other workers are the same. It makes sense, because Lady Momo is like a light that shines on the whole world….
Satsuki, the court mage, visits every day between her research. Lady Tina Duke Badcage also visits often, even though she is busy with trade with the Coalmine Kingdom.
Aerith from the Garou Merchant Guild comes by too, mostly to smell the baby. Laika and Aerith say Momo “smells like a big pile of happiness.” I agree 100%.
Sister Amelia comes here every morning from the monastery, goes to work, then comes back here before going home. It’s a lot of walking for her.
I wish she could just stay over, but she is leading the monastery building project and has to work at night too.
I guess everyone is busy because of me, but Momo seems to be the one keeping everyone together. She’s an angel. The source of light for the world.
”Waaa!”
”Oh—, what’s wrong, Momo-chan?” I asked.
Since the little lady started to fuss, I picked her up. I smelled her, but she smelled fine. It was just that happy smell. It wasn’t a diaper problem.
Laika would have smelled that before she even cried anyway. Maybe she was just tired of three adults looking at her? Or maybe she was hungry.
”Hey, Lily.”
”Yes, yes. Momo-chan, is it time for milk?” Lily asked.
As I walked over with Momo, Lily let out a thrum as she bared her breasts. When I put the baby on Lily’s lap, Momo started to nurse, smacking her lips as she drank the milk.
This is the one thing I can’t do. Man, why don’t I have breasts…? If I did, I could be a perfect parent….
”I never thought I would feel jealous of Lily’s breasts…” I muttered.
”Fufu, it’s a mother’s special right. Though being woken up at night is hard work,” Lily replied.
I watched the Great Goddess Princess Momo eat for a while. When she was full, Lily tapped her back and she let out a cute puff of a burp.
Lily put her back in the fancy bed from Her Majesty the Queen. Momo looked happy and started to sleep quietly.
”Now, about that talk…”
Laika, Tania, and I wanted to keep watching Momo, but Lady Lily had something to say. She spoke softly so she wouldn’t wake the baby.
”Hmm? The part about Momo being the hope and salvation of the world?” I asked.
”Master, what are you trying to make our daughter into…. No, it’s about the maternal instincts. Tania-sama’s and Laika-sama’s,” Lily said.
”U-Us…?” Tania asked.
”Ah—, I see,” Laika said with a nod.
Tania and I were confused, but Laika seemed to understand right away.
”You mean, it’s about how Big Sis wants a baby too?” Laika asked.
”That is exactly it,” Lily replied.
””Ah—…”” Tania and I said at the same time.
We looked at each other. I forgot about this because I was so busy with Momo. We talked about this before she was born.
It happened just like Laika said—we got so busy with the baby that we forgot everything else….
”I’m glad you both love Momo, but you should think about yourselves too. Don’t you think Momo looks so cute to you for a reason?” Lily asked.
”Umu. Well, I think that’s true…. I see. I want a child like Momo too…” Tania said.
”Yeah—. I’m after Big Sis, but…. Right, I can have a baby too…. A baby for Kento and me…” Laika added.
Tania and Laika both touched their bellies. I saw the rings on their fingers.
”So, Master, please do your best, okay? I will watch Momo,” Lily said.
I nodded. It was time for me to do my duty as a man….

Summary:
Weeks after Momo’s birth, the Harvest house is full of visitors and gifts like a royal bed. Kento is a total doting father, watching Momo all day with Laika and Tania. Lily points out that the girls are so obsessed with Momo because their own maternal instincts are waking up. • Lily – the sl*ve and primary experiment subject for the magic shop, ‘Harvest.’ She has striking pink hair, Blue eyes, medium breasts, which the Protagonist associates with being ‘wanton’. She has a working knowledge of magic, which she kept hidden from the slave trader.
• Kento – The owner of the magic tool shop ‘Harvest,’ which discretely sells adult goods. He’s a former overworked, ordinary salaryman from modern Japan who was suddenly transported (isekai’d) to this fantasy world. He has dark hair and an unremarkable appearance, typically wearing a plain, slightly suspicious-looking shop owner’s clothes looks like Kazuma Satou from certain series. He has a minimal amount of magic power, enough to craft his specialty items.
• Laika – The beastwoman dog.
• Tania – An Elf adventurer who, despite her race’s reputation for low sex drive, is secretly quite passionate. She initially seemed ‘wasted’ (emotionally dry) to her friend Raika, but was easily introduced to the pleasure-items sold at ‘Harvest.’ She is easily embarrassed and attempts to maintain a dignified facade, despite her recent, frequent purchases. She wears practical but light armor over a simple cloth tunic and short pants, highlighting her grace and agility. Her primary relationship is one of friendly senior-junior with Raika.
• Satsuki – A talented Court Mage who was forced to analyze the shop’s adult magic tools. Miranda’s granddaughter. Now she’s the new worker at Harvest, a development she finds both humiliating and surprisingly fulfilling due to the rapid progress in her research under Kento’s guidance. Has long black hair, palace mage robe, and staff.
• Aerith – A wolf beast-person and Ouka’s daughter. She is intensely attracted to Kento’s creative genius and is not shy about showing her interest. Have gray fur hair and tail, wearing elegant dress.
• Amelia – The Sister of the Church of Demon-Subjugating, who usually buys from Kento, has light blue hair.
