Chapter 35 Himezaki Rieslett ③

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

”Well then, I shall handle the enrollment-or rather, the transfer procedures-on this end,” Chairwoman Minette said. “Starting tomorrow, Himezaki Rieslett-san, you will be a student of our academy. There are a few things I must convey to you before then.”

According to Chairwoman Minette, the academy was fully residential, with students paired two to a room. Naturally, these dormitories were separated by gender. It appeared someone had already gone to fetch the girl who would be my roommate; she was expected to arrive shortly.

While we waited, I was fitted for my uniform and briefed on the school regulations. The rules weren’t particularly stifling; in fact, the school culture seemed quite liberal. However, wearing the academy uniform was mandatory at all times-even when leaving campus on holidays. It served as a formal identification that I was a student of the sorcery academy.

As for the holidays, the calendar of this world operated on a twenty-four-hour day. Six days made a week, thirty days made a month, and a year consisted of twelve months plus five days of year-end festivities, totaling 365 days. The days of the week were named in order: Day of Wind, Day of Fire, Day of Water, Day of Earth, Day of Light, and Day of Darkness¹. The Day of Darkness was the designated holiday. Most people living in the city streets didn’t seem to pay much attention to the distinctions, though.

A knock sounded at the door. It seemed my roommate had arrived.

 ”Come in,” Minette said.

 ”Excuse me-desuwa,” a voice replied.

The girl who entered was a lovely child with pink-blonde hair styled into vertical ringlets. She stood a little over 130 centimeters tall. Her eyebrows were thin, framing green eyes that tended to droop slightly. She bore a subtle resemblance to Chairwoman Minette. Her chest was… well, flat. Given her refined movements, I assumed she was the daughter of a noble or a very wealthy family.

”Um, Grandmother, I heard my new roommate was here…”

”Address me as ‘Teacher’ or ‘Chairwoman’ here, Jessica,” Minette corrected.

”M-my apologies, Chairwoman!” Jessica said, bowing her head.

So, Jessica was the Chairwoman’s granddaughter.

”Now then, regarding your roommate…” Minette began. “This is she, Jessica. Her name is Rieslett, and she is a Visitor².”

”A Visitor?! Is that true?!” Jessica asked, her eyes widening in surprise.

”Yes, it is. Ensure you do not act rudely,” Minette warned.

”Of course-desuwa… oh, wow…” Jessica whispered, staring at me in a daze. Her face looked a little flushed.

”Um, is Jessica-san alright? I’m Rieslett. Due to a variety of circumstances, I’ll be staying at this academy. I look forward to meeting you,” I said, extending my hand.

 Jessica didn’t move.

 ”Hello? Anyone home?” I asked.

”Ah! Please forgive my rudeness-desuwa! E-er, my name is Jessica. The pleasure is mine, truly-desuwa!” Jessica said, finally coming to her senses and gripping my hand. “Oh, goodness… you are so beautiful-desuwa…”

”Beautiful? I don’t know about that. I appreciate the compliment, but I’m just a shut-in nerd in these dowdy clothes,” I replied.

”That isn’t true at all-desuwa! I don’t quite know what a ‘nerd’ is, and while your clothes are a bit plain, it doesn’t change the fact that you are a beauty-desuwa. I’m certain the gentlemen of this world won’t be able to leave you alone,” Jessica insisted.

At her last sentence, my body gave a violent jolt. I still hadn’t completely recovered. The thought of dealing with anyone in a romantic or s*xual capacity was the last thing on my mind.

”Rieslett-sama?” Jessica asked, looking at me with a puzzled expression.

I must have let it show on my face. And what was with the “Sama”?

”Oh, yeah, sorry. Just… a lot of stuff happened. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t dig too deep,” I said.

”I see… everyone has a thing or two they’d rather not have pried into-desuwa,” Jessica said understandingly.

”I appreciate you being so quick to understand. Also, could you drop the ‘-sama’? I’m not that important,” I said.

 ”But Rieslett-sama is a Visitor-desuwa!”

”I know, but… just call me something else,” I pleaded. It was embarrassing.

”Is that so? Hmm… in that case… Big Sister!”

”Gah!” I sputtered. Things had suddenly taken a very different turn.

”Um, I’m an only child, and I’ve always wanted an older sister like Rieslett-sama… is that not allowed-desuwa?” Jessica asked, looking up at me with pleading eyes.

I looked over at Chairwoman Minette, but she just wore a heartwarming smile, clearly having no intention of intervening. Giving in, I scratched my head.

”It’s fine. Go ahead. I never had a sister either,” I said.

”Really?! You can’t take it back now-desuwa!” Jessica said with a beaming smile. She suddenly lunged at me-it was more of a dive than a hug. I fell over from the impact, and Jessica began nuzzling her head against my chest, burying her face in me. “Hehe, Big Sister… Big Sister…”

She was so happy, yet I felt a strange sense of unease. It’s just my imagination, I told myself. It has to be!

”Jessica, I know you’re happy, but let’s get back to business,” Minette said, clearing her throat pointedly.

Jessica snapped to attention, pulling away from me and standing up straight. I followed suit. Her face was quite red-likely from being caught acting so childishly by her grandmother.

”My apologies, Chairwoman. What is the business at hand-desuwa?” Jessica asked.

”I want you to show her around the academy, Jessica. I should be doing it myself, but I have administrative work to finish,” Minette explained.

 ”I don’t mind at all-in fact, I’d love to-but isn’t class still in session-desuwa?”

”The basic magic lecture? I’ve already tutored you privately on those subjects, so you can afford to skip. I’ll let the instructor, Philneed-san, know,” Minette said.

”In that case, I accept with pleasure-desuwa!” Jessica replied.

”This way, Big Sister!” Jessica urged. I followed her, giving a quick bow to the Chairwoman before leaving the office.

After the tour, I found myself in our dorm room, finally taking a shower. I had realized during the tour that the standard of living here was shockingly high.

The academy grounds were grand, but the layout was very similar to the school I used to attend. There were classrooms, a sports field, a gym, a cafeteria, and a library. There was even a magic research building. That wasn’t the surprising part, though. The toilets were Western-style, complete with bidet functions, and the faucets provided clean, hot water.

Outside of the fantasy aesthetic, it felt remarkably modern.

The dorm room was a standard double: two desks, two beds, a private bathroom, and a small kitchen. And most importantly…

”Big Sister, you must be tired. Why don’t you take a bath-desuwa?” Jessica asked.

A bath! My father loved baths, and that had rubbed off on me. Back home, I’d take one twice a day.

I stripped down in the changing area and threw my clothes into the washing machine-another thing I hadn’t expected to find. I stepped into the bathroom. The tub wasn’t huge; I could stretch my legs, but it would be a tight fit for two people. Still, I was grateful for any bath at all. Jessica had explained how to use it, and it was straightforward. I turned the tap, letting the hot water flow.

”Ah… that feels so good… I’m finally human again,” I sighed.

The bathroom was stocked with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. It felt just like home. As I was rinsing off under the shower head, the door opened.

”Big Sister, let me wash your back for you-desuwa,” Jessica said. She was completely naked.

”Wait-whoa! Don’t just come in like that!” I yelled, spinning around to hide myself.

Even between girls, it was embarrassing. Jessica, however, didn’t seem to care about being seen. Her hair was down now, no longer in ringlets. She was at that age where she was just starting to develop; her chest was small but budding, with tiny, pale pink nipples.

”I’m sorry, Big Sister. But surely it’s fine for me to wash your back-desuwa?” Jessica asked.

”I… I guess… but at least ask first,” I muttered. Honestly, it was hard to reach my own back properly. “Alright, go ahead.”

”Of course-desuwa!” Jessica chirped. She lathered up her hands and began to scrub.

Then I felt it. Something soft and supple pressed against my back. Two distinct points were rubbing against my skin, moving up and down. It definitely wasn’t a towel.

”Hmph… haa… does it feel good, Big Sister? Haa… haa…” Jessica panted. Her hot breath hit my neck.

This was it-the classic trope of a girl using her breasts to wash someone’s back.

”Haa… Big Sister… Big Sister…” Jessica’s voice became thick and heavy.

Since the incident, I had developed a deep-seated aversion to anything s*xual. I hadn’t even been able to bring myself to m**urbate in the month since it happened. Even if Jessica meant this as a kindness, I couldn’t handle it.

”Jessica, stop that. Just wash my back normally,” I said firmly.

”I… I’m sorry, Big Sister…” Jessica murmured dejectedly.

She finished washing my back with a towel. Afterward, I washed her back and hair in return, and we soaked in the tub together.

”Ah… soaking in the tub with Big Sister… I’m so happy-desuwa…” Jessica sighed, leaning against me. I stroked her head, and she blushed a deep red, looking blissful.

As an only child, I found it somewhat nice to have a ‘little sister.’ At the time, I truly hoped we could stay this close forever.
