Seven-Sins-Avenger 178

Chapter 178 Sugita Group ㉑

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Lil versus Reese. Calling it a “catfight” would be an insult; this was a total war of attrition.

I lunged, yanking Reese away from that man. She was still too close for comfort, so I pressed the advantage, unleashing a flurry of strikes intended to drive her back. Perhaps she had been overconfident at the start; she barely managed to bring her guard up in time. She was skilled, I’ll give her that – parrying my onslaught with desperate precision. But then, my pride wouldn’t be satisfied if she collapsed this early. My goal was distance, and as long as she stayed on the defensive, I was winning.

”Lil! You… why are you doing this!?” Reese asked, her voice tight with confusion.

I didn’t understand the question. “If you’re asking for a motive… it’s quite simple. You’ve declared yourself my enemy.”

”Enemy? That’s insane! How can you say that!? Why aren’t you… why haven’t you fallen under Kazu’s spell!?”

”Because I love Natsumi,” I replied flatly. “The idea of harboring feelings for a lowlife like your ‘Kazu’ is physically revolting.”

”Kazu is not a lowlife!” Reese screamed.

She tried to slip past my guard, but her footwork was amateurish – no feints, no subtlety. I sidestepped her lunge with a bored yawn. It was truly terrifying, in a way, to see someone as capable as Reese so utterly blinded by infatuation. It was a potent skill, but it held no power over me.

I felt a surge of genuine gratitude toward Natsumi for granting me this opportunity. Dealing with that man would have been a chore, but she understood our hearts. She knew I needed to break Reese myself.

”Damn you! Why… why can’t I land a single hit!?” Reese barked.

She thrust her spear again and again, a silver blur in the arena light, but I parried every strike. I dodged, slapped the shaft aside, and dictated the rhythm. In terms of raw technique, we were evenly matched, and she had the reach of a polearm while I was bare-handed. However, the gap in our actual combat experience was a chasm. I hadn’t spent years sparring with monsters stronger than me just to be bested by a girl playing at war.

”Your movements are too honest, Reese. I can read your intent before you even shift your weight,” I said.

 ”Shut up!”

She poured everything into a final, desperate thrust. It was telegraphed from a mile away. I timed the counter perfectly, driving my palm toward her chest.

I felt a sharp, metallic snap against my right wrist. No – it was a bite. The wolf-head spaulder on her shoulder had snapped shut on my arm. Fortunately, it caught the reinforced plate of my gauntlet. It didn’t draw blood, but the annoyance was immediate.

”Surprised? This wolf isn’t just a decoration,” Reese hissed.

I’ll admit, I hadn’t expected a sentient armor gimmick. She had been holding onto that one.

”Now, Fenrir¹! Pin her down!” Reese commanded.

The gray stone of her spaulder shifted, expanding into the form of a spectral wolf that lunged at my throat. I was caught in her optimal range; if I stayed put, the follow-up spear strike would be lethal. I threw myself into a backstep, but my balance faltered, and the wolf slammed into my chest, pinning me to the dirt.

Honestly… Natsumi is the only person I allow to pin me down like this. If Reese wanted to play with pets, I had one of my own.

 ”Sirius²! To me!”

The white wolf embroidery on my silk cheongsam shimmered and leapt from the fabric. My Heavenly Wolf Sirius materialized in a flash of light, its jaws locking onto the throat of the beast holding me down.

”What!? Where did that come from!?” Reese yelled.

Hardly anyone knew about this. Only Natsumi and our smith, Tatei, were in on the secret. This was the true nature of my White Wolf Battle Raiment³. Sirius tore the spectral Fenrir off me, tossing it aside. The gray wolf scrambled back to its mistress’s feet, whimpering, while Sirius circled back to me, nudging my hand for approval.

”A matching gimmick… you’ve got to be kidding me,” Reese muttered.

”I thought it was just a flourish myself,” I replied. “Sirius! Keep that dog busy!”

A long, resonant howl echoed through the stadium.

The two wolves clashed in a blur of gray and white fur. They were perfectly matched. That left me with Reese. The distance had closed again, and she shifted into a low, horizontal stance. She was holding her spear like a longsword.

 ”Whirlwind Strike!”

She unleashed a crescent blade of compressed air. I dove to the side, feeling the vacuum tug at my clothes. I had forgotten that certain Martial Arts could mimic ranged magic. Natsumi rarely used them, but I’d seen Mihiro and King Leonardo employ similar tricks. The range was limited – maybe fifteen feet – but it was enough to be a nuisance.

She clearly thought she’d found a way to keep me at bay. “You’re helpless without a projectile, aren’t you? Just stay down! Whirlwind Strike!”

 ”Wolf Fang Cannon!” I shouted.

I thrust my palms forward, releasing a concussive blast of ki shaped like a snarling wolf. It shattered her wind blade mid-air. Reese stood frozen, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Yes, I can play that game too. Natsumi used to laugh when I practiced this, calling it a “Kamehameha” or something similar. She even taught me the stance. For someone like me who lacks an affinity for traditional sorcery, this ki-based projectile was a godsend. Its range was double hers, and the impact was significantly heavier. Natsumi had even insisted on naming the move herself.

Reese should have switched to actual magic, but I wasn’t going to give her the breathing room to chant. Even with Silent Casting, there’s a flicker of concentration that leaves a mage vulnerable. And with the “Idaten” skill Natsumi gave me, that flicker was an eternity.

I recalled Natsumi mentioning that people like Mihiro – who could fire spells with zero lag despite having no natural aptitude – were anomalies. Normally, it takes a decade to master the Ki Battle Method I was using. I’d only managed it recently thanks to Sebastian’s brutal coaching. I suppose I really am a slow learner.

Everyone else had been horrified that I’d learned it in a matter of months.

”Enough games,” I whispered. “I’m finished holding back.”

Natsumi’s order was “don’t kill her.” She hadn’t said anything about leaving her dignity intact.

”I’m coming for you. I hope you’ve said your prayers.”

Reese braced her spear, preparing for a frontal charge. She was looking at my hands. She should have been looking at my feet. I activated Idaten, and the world blurred. At triple my normal speed, I wasn’t a runner; I was a projectile. I blew past her in a gust of wind.

 ”Wha-? You missed!?” Reese stammered.

”Did I?” I held up my hand. I was clutching a handful of reddish-black silk.

A roar of primal approval erupted from the men in the stands.

 ”Wait… is that…?”

Reese looked down. Her “armor” – the reinforced bikini that offered more titillation than protection – was gone. I had shredded the ties as I passed. She stood in the center of the arena, almost entirely exposed to the thousands of spectators.

”AAAH! You… you bitch! Don’t look! Turn away!”

The shame was instantaneous. She dropped her spear, her hands flying to cover her chest and lap, but it was a losing battle. Her backside was completely bare. Above us, the massive magic monitors broadcast her frantic, trembling form in crystalline detail.

”No! Stop it! Turn the cameras off!” she shrieked.

The crowd’s cheers turned into a rhythmic chant of lewd encouragement. I circled behind her, admiring the curve of her spine. She really was quite lovely. I stepped in close and swept her legs out from under her, pinning her face-down against the cold stone.

”Stop! What are you doing!?” she cried out, a pathetic, high-pitched sound.

I ignored her. I hooked my legs under her thighs and grabbed her wrists, hauling her torso upward into a brutal, back-breaking stretch.

”Let’s give the gentlemen a better view, shall we?”

”No! Please! Stop! Not like this!”

Reese’s breasts and her crotch – showing only the faintest hint of a well-groomed thicket – were splayed open for the world to see. Natsumi called this the Mexican Surfboard. It was an exquisite position for public display.

 ”No… no… don’t look at me… please…”

I gave her a sharp shake, making her body jiggle for the cameras. The roar from the stands was deafening now.

”And for the finale… let’s show them everything.”

I forced her legs further apart, exposing her most private depths to the voyeurs in the front row. Reese was sobbing now, her face buried in the dirt, but the crowd didn’t care. They were captivated by the high-definition humiliation on the screens. People were leaning over the railings, some even brandishing expensive opera glasses to catch every detail of her quivering flesh. A literal riot was brewing near the front as men fought for the best vantage point.

 ”Don’t look… please don’t look…” Reese moaned. Then, her voice cracked. “Wait… what? I… I did…?”

The quality of her voice changed. The fog of infatuation had finally lifted, and the sudden weight of reality hit her like a physical blow.

 ”Oh god… what have I done? Kazu… I… no… NOOOOOOOOO!”

She finally remembered. She remembered the betrayal, the arrogance, and the things she’d said to Natsumi. The psychological break was far more satisfying than the physical one.

 ”I’m sorry… I’m so sorry… please…”

I didn’t let go. I wanted her to feel every second of this. She had turned her back on Natsumi, and for that, there would be no mercy – only the cold, hard light of the arena and the eyes of a thousand strangers.

 Summary:

Lil faces off against Reese in a high-stakes arena duel. Utilizing her ‘Idaten’ speed and unique ki-based techniques, Lil systematically dismantles Reese’s wolf-themed armor. The battle concludes not with a killing blow, but with a calculated act of public s*xual humiliation that breaks Reese’s mental conditioning.

 —

 Trivia:

 - Lil’s cheongsam is actually a high-level magic armor called ‘White Wolf Battle Raiment’.

 - The ‘Wolf Fang Cannon’ is a ki-based move, not a magic spell, bypassing typical mana-based defenses.

 - Reese was under a charm or brainwashing effect from Kazu which breaks mid-humiliation.

 - The move ‘Mexican Surfboard’ is a direct reference to a pro-wrestling hold (Romero Special).

 - Lil trained under the late Sebastian to master her current fighting style

 —

 Character Insight:

Lil demonstrates a chilling level of calculated cruelty that stems from her absolute devotion to Natsumi. She values psychological destruction over physical death. Reese undergoes a tragic moment of clarity, realizing her betrayal while in an utterly helpless and shamed state.

 —

 Behind the Scenes:

The author explicitly references the ‘Romero Special’ and Shonen jump-style attacks (Kamehameha) to highlight the ‘Otherworlder’ influence on the combatants’ techniques.

Serves you right, you pathetic pile of trash. Like Lil said, brainwashing or not, she betrayed him. Her weakness let this happen. She deserves punishment.
