Chapter 434 Factory Tour ①
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Rose!” Kento called out.
”Whoa there…!” Rose yelped.
After a lot of back-and-forth, I’d finally settled on a simple name for her. I grabbed the “Holy Figure” Loire-Rose¹ by the shoulder and hauled her back. I didn’t have any ulterior motives; she was just about to wander face-first into a section of the wall that was literally structural dust. She, of course, didn’t see it that way.
”Easy there, Kento-kins,” Rose teased. “You’ve already got a house full of wives and kids. Are you telling me you’re still not satisfied?”
”Like hell I am! The wall’s collapsing right there,” I snapped. “You’ll get shredded if you catch yourself on it.”
In the short time we’d spent together, I’d completely lost my sense of “polite reserve” around her. Between her attitude and her total lack of boundaries, there wasn’t much room for formal courtesy.
”See? Look at that,” I said, pointing at the masonry.
”Oh, wow. You weren’t kidding. It’s a total wreck. Yikes, talk about a hazard,” Rose muttered, her blue eyes wide as she looked at the crumbling exterior of the Canarias Convent².
I understood her surprise. The place was falling apart because the leadership was so frugal they refused to spend a dime on actual repairs. Their philosophy was hardcore: every spare cent went toward charity. It was a noble sentiment, but I really wished they’d put a little more thought into the “not-getting-crushed-by-falling-rocks” aspect of their public image.
”The rumors about their penny-pinching were true,” Rose said. “Since Sister Amelia’s ‘miracle,’ donations are probably going to skyrocket. Think they’ll finally put some of that toward a renovation?”
”Doubt it,” I replied. “These Sisters are dyed-in-the-wool. They’ll probably dump every bit of it into the Stampede³ relief funds.”
”Hmm, makes sense,” Rose mused. “Maybe the reason Ames can pull off actual miracles is because they’re all so committed to the bit…”
To be honest, I still didn’t quite get the mechanics of how the Clergy’s power actually scaled. But hey, if a Holy Figure was saying it, it was probably true. The Sisters at Canarias Convent definitely had an “expert” aura about them. Even compared to the Holy Labor Corps that helped us take down those two Great Dragons, these nuns looked like they could kick some serious ass.
”So? What are you actually here for?” I asked.
”Patience, patience! First, I want a VIP tour of where the Harvest gear gets made,” Rose said. “It’s becoming a pretty massive revenue stream for ‘The Firm,’ you know~”
”Fine, fine. I hear you,” I said.
So it was a corporate inspection. I led her toward the workshop. The stuff made here was a huge part of my shop’s bottom line, which means the Church was also raking in a tidy profit. Sure, the money got diluted as it trickled up to the Archdiocese and the Holy City, but it was still big enough to be one of Rose’s primary slush funds. I wondered what the street price for a “D**do-Buddy”⁴ was in the Holy City. Every time the nuns come here on “pilgrimage,” they buy them in bulk while raving about how “cheap” they were.
”Alright, we’re here,” I announced.
”Yep, yep. Thanks for the escort, Mr. Guide. Coming in~” Rose chirped.
I held the door for her, revealing the workshop where the Sisters were busily at work.
”Whoa… so this is the factory…” Rose whispered, looking genuinely impressed.

It was the same look the pilgrims got. I guess all those care packages of new products I’ve been sending her actually paid off.
”Oh? Kento-san, what brings you-Wait, WHAT?! Is that Her Holiness?!” Amelia shouted, nearly dropping her tools.
”Yeah. I’m stuck on tour-guide duty today,” I said. “Sorry to bug you, but we’re going to look around.”
”Yaho~ Ames! Hope you don’t mind us crashing the party!” Rose waved.
As the room started buzzing, Mother Shireen-the boss of this operation-stepped up. I explained that Rose wanted to observe, and she graciously gave us the green light. Rose then insisted that Amelia join us, and the three of us started the tour. I was still wondering what her real angle was.
”This is where we process the aphrodisiacs,” Amelia explained. “Holy Arts⁵ can only replicate a few of the formulas so far, so we still have court mages helping with the heavy lifting.”
”Huh… so you can do some of them now. That’s actually huge!” Rose said.
Satsuki, the court mage, was mid-process nearby. She gave me “the look”-the one that asked if I was adding another girl to the collection-but she kept her mouth shut and kept working. This used to be my job, then Tania’s. Now, the Sisters were nearly ready to handle the whole catalog. Rose seemed to smell the money; she was practically cheerleading the workers.
”Over here is where we manufacture the D**do-Buddy line,” Amelia continued. “This is our highest volume area. New recruits always start here.”
”Ohh! Here it is! This is the main event!” Rose’s eyes lit up.
The triplets-Tetra, Metra, and Netra-were leading a small army. They were methodically pouring the liquid into molds and snap-freezing them into shape using Holy Hardening Magic⁶.
”Think I could make one?” Rose asked.
”If you can use Holy Arts, you can make one,” I said. “It’s the baseline.”
”I wanna try! Ames, show me how!” Rose cheered.
It was exactly like a factory tour back in my old world. “Alright! Check it out! I did it!” Rose shouted a few minutes later. “Hey, Kento-kins, think we could flip this for a premium? Like, ‘Authentic: Hand-Crafted by the Holy Figure’?”
”It would sell. But no. Absolutely not,” I said.
”Aww, why not?”
”Because it would be a nightmare. People would be stabbing each other over it, and the black market for fakes would go through the roof in an hour,” I explained.
”Yeah, fair point. Too much drama,” Rose sighed. “I thought it was a solid plan, though. We could’ve even got Ames in on it. A ‘Saint-Certified’ Limited Edition…”
Seriously, this woman was way more corporate than holy. I was starting to see the Archbishop’s greasy influence here.
”Look, slapping a name on it just to juice the price is predatory,” I said. “Though, I’ve heard rumors that some ‘extreme’ power-users claim they can feel the difference depending on the maker.”
”Wait, what?! It actually feels different?!” Rose asked.
”No, it doesn’t. It’s a placebo,” I said. “It’s just an urban legend that only the most… uh… ‘seasoned’ pros can supposedly detect.”
”Whoa… Guess I’ve still got a lot to learn,” Rose said, looking oddly impressed.
The factory tour continued, with Rose getting hyped over every little detail. I still had no idea what her real goal was.

Summary:
Kento gives Loire-Rose, the Holy Figure, a tour of the Canarias Convent’s workshop where his adult goods are manufactured. Rose shows a surprising interest in the business and production side of things, even trying her hand at making a product herself. The chapter highlights the contrast between the convent’s holy mission and its pragmatic, profit-driven manufacturing operation.
—
Trivia:
- The Canarias Convent is intentionally kept in a state of disrepair to maximize charitable donations.
- The ‘D**do-Buddy’ products are made using a combination of alchemy and ‘Holy Hardening Magic’.
- Satsuki, a court mage, is still suspicious of Kento’s growing influence over the women around him.
- The Sisters at this specific convent are exceptionally powerful, potentially rivaling combat-specialized units
—
Character Insight:
Loire-Rose displays a ‘gyaru’ personality and a sharp business mind, suggesting she sees the adult goods trade as a vital funding source for her influence. Kento maintains a grounded, protective, and somewhat cynical perspective despite being surrounded by high-ranking religious figures.
—
Behind the Scenes:
The author uses the factory tour trope to ground the fantasy world’s economy in the production of mundane (if adult) items, subverting the typical ‘holy’ image of light novel churches.
—
TL Notes:
Notes:
• Kento – Lord Harvest—the unassuming owner of the Harvest magic tool shop (with a discreet adult goods side). An isekai’d Japanese salaryman resembling Kazuma Satou, with dark hair and basic magic for crafting. Recently triumphed over a Great Dragon; now juggles his harem, tinkering, and ties to Amelia and the Queen at Ddo-Buddy Manor.
• Loire-Rose – The current Saintess—supreme leader of the Great Cathedral with a divine look (white hair, pale skin, blue eyes) and holy powers like manifesting light and blessings. Her modern, playful irreverence clashes with church norms, though she struggles to keep her composed “mask” under pressure.
• Amelia – A light blue-haired Sister of the Church of Demon-Subjugating and Kento’s shy harem member. A newly awakened “Saint” from Holy Sleep, modest and easily embarrassed with red ears and neck. Wears her habit and treasures Kento’s ring on a necklace.
• Slop – Leader of the hound-kin pack; Laika’s father. Has orange hair and fluffy tail.
• Shireen – A high-ranking nun at the convent who tends to modify product specifications on a whim.
• Satsuki – Miranda’s granddaughter—a talented court mage with long black hair, staff, and palace robes. Prickly tsundere companion of Kento who fought in the dragon subjugation. Now humiliated yet fulfilled as Harvest’s new worker, her research thrives under his guidance while she whispers romantic tips to Amelia.
• Tania – An Elf adventurer who, despite her race’s reputation for low sex drive, is secretly quite passionate. She initially seemed ‘wasted’ (emotionally dry) to her friend Raika, but was easily introduced to the pleasure-items sold at ‘Harvest.’ She is easily embarrassed and attempts to maintain a dignified facade, despite her recent, frequent purchases. She wears practical but light armor over a simple cloth tunic and short pants, highlighting her grace and agility. Her primary relationship is one of friendly senior-junior with Raika.
• Metra – One of the triplets. Thick navy hair covering her eyes. Beautiful facial features.
• Netra – One of the triplets. Thick navy hair covering her eyes. Beautiful facial features. Shows interest in Kento.
• Tetra – One of the triplets. Thick navy hair covering her eyes. Beautiful facial features.
