Chapter 254 Goddess Aurelia ②

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

It had been five days since I subjugated the Demon King. After bringing Hina, Demon King Medinilla, and her subordinate Tsunami along, I picked up the Vertical-Horizontal duo and used teleportation to return home.

Hina’s training was progressing smoothly; she seemed to recognize me as her brother now. When her mind regressed to that of a young girl, she would cling to me, calling me “Onii-chan,” but at her actual mental age, she was clearly too embarrassed for that. At most, she’d call me “Ani-san.”

Right now, the members of the Clan ‘Renegade’ were all gathered in the dining room. Aside from them, there was the Vertical-Horizontal duo, of course, along with Annamaria, Mariana, Orcus, Amanda, and even Medinilla and Tsunami. The only ones missing were Marl, Jessica—who was looking after her—and Sarubia and Farisa, who weren’t particularly close to the group yet. Amanda looked startled when she saw Medinilla, but I decided to let that slide for now.

”So, Hero… ahem, Sieben-sama, you said you had something important to tell us…” Mariana was the one who broached the subject. To begin with, it was rare for everyone to gather like this unless it was a New Year’s party or some kind of event. Especially with a Demon King sitting right there.

”Right. For now, I have some good news and some bad news. Which do you want to hear first?”

”The classic move is to start with the good news, right?” Honoka suggested.

”True,” Mihiro added with a wry smile. Well, they weren’t wrong.

”Then the good news first. I’m bragging a bit here, but… it looks like Lil is going to give birth very soon.”

 ”That really is good news!”

”Yeah, I wonder what kind of baby will be born?”

A warm atmosphere filled the room. Lil, the mother-to-be, looked delighted as she stroked her large, swollen belly. But she really must be different from a normal human. It hadn’t even been six months since we found out she was pregnant, and she was already going into labor. Come to think of it, Orcus’s child was born in about ten days. And they grow at an incredibly fast rate.

”Also, as you can probably tell by their presence here, I’ve established a friendship with Medinilla. From now on, they are our allies.”

”Nuhahahaha! Indeed, I am the Demon King Medinilla noja! You can consider yourselves in the safest of hands. However, my Lord, it wasn’t just ‘friendship’—it was my marriage into your house noja!”

”No, that’s not right, is it?! Since when did you become Goshujin-sama’s wife?!” Honoka was right. I had absolutely no memory of making her my wife. To be more accurate, it was Servitude… she became my servant, which is completely different from being a wife.

”What are you saying? My body and soul belong to my Lord… therefore, it isn’t strange to call myself your wife noja!” Medinilla puffed out her non-existent chest with a smug, triumphant look. Is that how it works? (That is how it is noja!) …Stop reading my thoughts.

I thought Mariana, of all people, would be more furious, but she was surprisingly quiet.

”It is a fact that the Demon King succumbed to Sieben-sama. It is the victor’s privilege to do as he wishes with the loser. Besides, if this is what Sieben-sama has decided…”

I see. So, because Medinilla is my property, she doesn’t intend to complain about it.

”And then… I guess it’s that I’ve become a Transcendental¹. This part isn’t really a big deal, though.”

”IT’S A HUGE DEAL!” Everyone gave me a collective reality check. For the record, “Transcendental” refers to those who have reached Level 100. They are also called Demi-gods, those who have one foot in the realm of the divine. Either way, they are the stuff of legends. That shitty Goddess probably capped everyone at Level 99 on purpose. Why she did that is something only she knows.

* * *

 ”Dear, about the bad news…”

”Right. First off, the Goddess found out I exist.”

”Huh? Didn’t she already know? How is that bad news?” Mime asked. To the locals, that made sense. Goddess Aurelia was the only god in this world, an absolute existence. What did it matter if she “found out”?

”Hmm… I guess I have to start from there. Everyone, listen closely.”

I told them everything that had happened up until now. That I was a summoned Hero. That I was betrayed by the classmates summoned with me and died once. That after dying, I was entrusted with a request by a different god.

”Though, I’d actually forgotten about that god myself. I remembered because I became a Transcendental, I think.”

”Whoa… so there are other gods besides Aurelia-sama…”

”In the country where I used to be—Japan, before I was summoned—there are eight million gods de-gozaru. I’ve never seen them, though de-gozaru.”

”Eight million!?” Alisha was stunned by the number. We say “eight million,” but it just means “countless.”

”I can’t really wrap my head around that…”

”Well, they’re conceptual gods. They say God dwells in all things. Even a strangely shaped stone rolling around nearby might be treated as a god. Setting that aside, I am hostile toward that Goddess. Mariana, Alisha, if you want to back out, now is your chance.”

Both Mariana and Alisha belonged to different sects, but they both worshipped Aurelia. It wasn’t just them; every inhabitant of this world, excluding the Mazoku², worshipped Aurelia. If they wanted to leave me, I wouldn’t mind. Of course, if they stood in my path as enemies, I would simply mow them down.

”I have offered my body and soul to Sieben-sama. If you are hostile toward Aurelia-sama, I will simply follow you.”

”I am also Sieben-san’s servant. Therefore, I will follow Sieben-san wherever he goes.”

Everyone nodded at Mariana and Alisha’s declarations. It seemed no one intended to leave. By the way, they were surprisingly understanding once I told them the origin of the Clan’s name.

”Still, Mariana and Alisha, you both gave up on Aurelia quite easily. Well, I suppose since you’re under my protection, that shitty Goddess’s poison radio waves³ have stopped working on you.”

”Poison radio waves…?” Mihiro gave a wry smile. It wasn’t just the duo; Hina and the other residents of this world had shown an unusual level of hostility toward the Mazoku. But Honoka, Mihiro, and Reese hadn’t been like that. The difference was whether they were my Kin or Servants. In fact, both Mariana and Alisha had lost their strange prejudice against the Mazoku. Though, since it was rooted in their upbringing and doctrine, it hadn’t been completely wiped away.

On a side note, Tatei and Yokoo were fine now too. Regarding Medinilla and Tsunami, they were getting weirdly excited, saying things like, “She’s a loli-hag!” and “A real succubus de-gozaru!” You’re wrong, she’s not a succubus. And then Medinilla got indignant, shouting, “Who are you calling a loli-hag!?” but no matter how you look at her, she’s a loli-hag noja.

Well, those “poison radio waves” were probably broadcasting an unusual hostility toward the Mazoku and a sense of absolute faith toward Aurelia. That’s why Mariana and the others’ indifference toward Aurelia was proof they had been liberated from them.

”Next, I’ve been designated as a Demon King. Although there’s no such title in the Status Window.”

”To think you’d be called Demon King while I’m still around noja. I am still alive, and I am the Demon King noja. I wish you would stop messing around noja,” Medinilla muttered, her face visibly twisting in annoyance.

Actually, this morning, an oracle descended upon the entire world declaring that I was the new Demon King. And it came with a ridiculous “bonus” attached.

”Well, it can’t be helped that I’m treated as an ‘Enemy of God,’ since I actually am hostile to her. The Demon King designation is one thing, but the real problem is that Greedia has been declared an enemy nation of humanity, just like the Demon King’s territory.”

This was the bigger issue. Almost certainly, Plaudix will declare war. Envyos too. In Wrathria, the King is Leonardo, and above all, Annamaria is there. It would be fine if we could maintain a non-aggression pact, but honestly, I don’t know. Slothset and Glattonios aren’t adjacent, so they probably won’t attack immediately. Even though Lustarika, the sovereign state of the Aurelia Church, is far away, there’s no telling what they might do. And then Greedia. It will undoubtedly be in turmoil over how to handle me from now on.

Everyone’s expression turned somber. Lil, Leki, Orcus, and Amanda, as well as Medinilla and Tsunami, remained unbothered, but the others understood exactly what this meant. Surrounded by enemies. A candle in the wind.

”Well, what will be, will be. Aniki has a plan for what’s next, right?”

”Yeah.” I nodded. Even if Greedia tries to cut me off, it’s not a problem. I can just go to the Demon King’s territory. My military strength is sufficient. However, if that happens, the problem is how Greedia and its citizens will be treated by the rest of the world. I just hope the leadership isn’t so stupid that they can’t think that far ahead.

It was a few days later that Plaudix and Envyos formally declared war.

 Summary:

Sieben returns home with the subjugated Demon King Medinilla and reveals he has reached Level 100, becoming a Transcendental. He informs his followers that the Goddess Aurelia has declared him an enemy and labeled Greedia an enemy nation. The chapter ends with neighboring countries Plaudix and Envyos formally declaring war against him.

 —

 Trivia:

 - Lil’s pregnancy is progressing unnaturally fast, which is normal for this world’s non-humans.

 - Sieben only regained his memories of the request from the ‘other god’ upon reaching Level 100.

 - The term ‘eight million gods’ is used as a figure of speech for an infinite number in Japan.

 - The ‘Poison Radio Waves’ explain why locals previously felt such intense hatred for the Mazoku.

 - Leonardo is now the King of Wrathria

 —

 Character Insight:

Sieben shows growth by reclaiming lost memories and accepting his role as an enemy of the established divine order. Mariana and Alisha demonstrate extreme loyalty, completely overriding their former religious indoctrination.

 —

 Behind the Scenes:

The author notes that this arc will transition into a full-scale war between Sieben’s forces and the followers of Aurelia.

3 Poison Radio Waves (Doku Denpa): A slang term used by the protagonist to describe the Goddess’s mental influence or brainwashing over the population.

Notes:

• Medinilla – The Demon King, a figure from two generations ago, is a petite, loli‑like being with pale blue skin, long silver hair, goat‑like horns, and golden eyes with black sclera; she wears a twilight‑colored dress adorned with red roses. Recently subjugated by Sieben, she now appears as a young girl with a flat chest and, despite her title, claims to be Sieben’s wife due to her servitude.

• Tsunami – One of the Six Demon Generals — the Water General — and the Demon King’s direct maid, with blue skin, goat‑like horns, black sclera and purple irises, a large chest, waist‑length black hair, and high‑heeled maid attire. The strongest of the generals, she serves as the Water Demon General and attendant to Medinilla, having once been the reincarnated human male hero Souichiro Tsunami from Earth. As a founder of Greedia, she now disguises herself in human form to observe parliamentary proceedings.

• Hina – Yamato Hina, the serious and beautiful student council vice-president with long straight hair and sharp eyes, is currently undergoing training under Sieben, and her mental state occasionally regresses to that of a young child.

• Annamaria – The youngest daughter of the King of Draguoth, aged ten. She has long straight blonde hair, blue eyes, and large breasts disproportionate to her height. She wears a tiara and a white lace dress.

• Jessica – Refined speech, pink-blonde vertical ringlets, green eyes, short with AA chest—a Cornaut noble girl obsessed with her sister. Now refuge-bound at the Assassin Guild headquarters.

• Mariana – Second princess of Plaudix and a Saint of the Hero Church, she looks like she should be in class with the students—blonde hair, blue eyes, and wrapped in thin, delicate silk—while trying to rescue Sugita, technically performing a holy act but in an awkward, politically messy move for a royal Saint; she is a follower of Sieben who has offered her body and soul to him, having been a devout worshipper of the Goddess Aurelia.

• Sarubia – A young Elf girl and the sole survivor of the settlement massacre. Has hair and eye colors that remind the protagonist of former companions. Her eyes are red and swollen from crying.

• Amanda – Female bandit leader (Ane-san). 190cm tall, muscular build. Uses mana-extending tonfas. Becomes Orcus’s wife/servant after being defeated. Shows heavy tsundere traits. Known as Amanda of the Crimson Lotus. An Ogre-kin Mazoku with towering stature, bronze skin, red hair, and golden eyes with fangs and horns. Uses tonfas.

• Farisa – Fourteen‑year‑old daughter of Carlos and Elena. Semi‑long red hair and that same soft beauty her mom’s known for. Young, curvy, and gifted—she’s a summoner who can call up the water spirit Undine. Starts out stubborn and tries to keep control, but her emotions crack through fast when push comes to shove.

• Orcus – A former orc born from Yuko Oshiro and an orc. To be exact, he is a High Orc Brave. Now a ‘Rakshasa’ and Natsumi’s subordinate after being defeated. Over 190cm tall, muscular, bronze skin, messy long red hair. Wild, masculine features.

• Marl – A younger‑sister‑type companion to Lil who likes watching the couple from afar. Not the real sister. She was a girl sitting in the spectator seats, temporarily controlled by Sugita’s Steal skill. After regaining her senses, she vomits from the shock and guilt of what she witnessed.

• Ren – Height 169 cm, weight 50 kg. A cool-headed guy with glasses who aimed to be a lawyer. He viewed bullying as a minor issue and stood by while Natsumi was tormented.

• Sieben – A young man with black hair and a mask covering his eyes, who purchased Honoka and Ria, is a member of the Octagram Council and head of a guild, currently under twenty, labeled a “God-Enemy” by Goddess Aurelia, operates the national casino, serves as the protagonist and a summoned Hero, has reached Level 100 becoming a Transcendental (Demi-god), leads Clan “Renegade,” and recently subjugated the Maou.

• Honoka – A high‑ranking healer who was once frozen and shattered while shielding Sasaki Natsumi, only to mysteriously revive. She appears as a petite, cute “transistor‑glamour” girl wielding high‑level healing magic, built like a tiny bomb of lewdness with huge breasts. Originally a cold‑hearted slave who mocked Sasaki, she later transformed into a devoted “Goshujin‑sama” maid, obsessively drawn to his scent and desperate to bear his child. Once the obsession of Hidaka, she was later violated by Sugita, leaving her furious and fiercely protective of the protagonist. She often greets with bashful smiles, but the slightest touch triggers a nuclear reaction. Typically dressed in a sleazy maid outfit, her anti‑aesthetic contrasts sharply with the clean uniforms of Lotte and Nadja.

• Mihiro – Post-gender swap of Yuki Chihiro: Height 160 cm, B-W-H: 82-55-80. Futanari. Short haired black hair, handsome.

• Lil – She is a top‑tier beauty standing 166 cm tall with measurements 90‑56‑90, long indigo hair that reaches her waist, a large scar on her abdomen, and sharp golden eyes; she possesses wolf ears and a tail. As a Fenrir/Wolf‑kin woman, she has silver hair in her human form, is the mother of Leki and the newborns Van and Mana, and is strong‑willed and deeply devoted to Natsumi. Currently a member of Sieben’s group in the late stages of pregnancy, she has a large, bulging belly and is expected to give birth very soon.

• Aurelia – A goddess who contacts the class via the school intercom to announce their reincarnation, is characterized by the protagonist and the Administrator as ‘useless’ and selfish, bestows Unique Skills upon others, views the world as a stage or game, and currently inhabits a physical body that possesses memories of the students.

• Mime – Short‑haired, cat‑eyed merc with wheat skin and a tight, athletic build that screams “I lift.” She swings a primitive stone axe like it’s nothing and sticks with the Renegade clan like a pro. She’s all business in a fight, but the second anyone mentions her comrade Marl, the tough‑girl act cracks and the worry shows through.

• Alisha – Fluffy pink‑haired miko with a huge, triple‑digit chest who’s way more dangerous than she looks, kidnapped along with the merchant’s daughter and the rest, is a member of the Renegade clan, wields a spiked morning‑star mace like a fashion accessory, looks gorgeous and holy but when tortured flips into full psychotic mode—chaotic, unhinged, and survivability‑mode only. She is a servant of Sieben who, like Mariana, has shifted her loyalty from the Goddess Aurelia to him.

• Reese – Jessica’s sister. Described by Alice as a beautiful blonde lady. She was previously under the control of Sugita’s skill and left in a state of despair and exposure after the effect ended.

• Tatei – Full name is Tatei Kozoo. Natsumi’s otaku buddy. Used to be tall and solid, now he’s 186 cm of skin and bones after anorexia wrecked him (52 kg, yeah, rough). Has the skill Materialization Alchemy and once crafted gear for the whole class. Ended up making the X‑shaped restraint stand used for Sugita’s execution—dark twist for a guy who just wanted to make cool equipment.

• Yokoo – Natsumi Sasaki’s otaku friend. His appearance is based on ‘Yoko’ from ‘Comic Party.’ Possesses ‘Materialization Summoning’. Accompanied by a Living Armor.

• Tate – Male Otaku friend of Reese. Gaunt and thin, wears glasses. Possesses Materialization Alchemy skill.

• Leonardo – A Major and squad leader in the Wrathfiria military. Large build like a bear with brown hair like a lion’s mane and a thick beard. Friendly and boisterous. Actually, a prince, and now his beard has been shaved.

• Leki – Lil’s eldest daughter, standing at 140 cm with measurements 70‑54‑69, sports dog/wolf ears and appears more like a Siberian Husky puppy than a wolf, resembling a stuffed toy that has recently been transformed into a human form. She now wields a great axe as a weapon and takes on the role of a big sister in this chapter.
