Seven-Sins-Avenger 295

Chapter 295 Yuki Mihiro

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

I dive beneath the slashes, aiming my rapier to pierce his heart. However, he’s encased in armor so rigid that I can’t even leave a scratch, let alone break through.

”Useless, useless! An ordinary blade won’t leave a single mark on this armor! No matter how many times you try, it’s the same!”

My opponent, Hagimoto-kun, swings his Great Scythe. Because it’s a massive, unwieldy weapon, his attack patterns tend to be predictable. To be honest, I can see every move coming. The only real problem is…

 (My body feels so heavy…)

My physical attributes have been tanked across the board by the effect of Hagimoto-kun’s Unique Skill¹, ‘Sariel’s Protection.’ At my current level, a single hit from Hagimoto-kun would leave me on the brink of death. Instant death is even a possibility. I’m dodging with everything I have. And yet…

A heavy, wide-arced attack packs power, but it creates a massive opening. With minimal movement, I evade and thrust my sword, aiming straight for Hagimoto-kun’s heart… but as expected, it doesn’t sink in.

”That’s why I’m telling you it’s useless! Just give it up already!”

Hagimoto-kun hurls words dripping with mockery and disdain. The white plate armor he wears is fortress-grade; even the joints and the visor slits of the helmet won’t let a blade through.

There isn’t a single exposed inch. The joints look like they have thinner plating, but they repel attacks entirely. They even disperse the impact from weapons like maces. I suppose it’s only natural for someone wearing such perfect armor to think any struggle is futile.

And that’s not all. I’m not the only one on this battlefield. Mei-san and Rei-san are squaring off against Yamihama-san and-presumably-Mayuzumi-san. However, Mei-san’s arrows are being swallowed by Yamihama-san’s darkness; forget a finishing blow, they’re doing zero damage. Conversely, Rei-san seems to be holding the upper hand against Mayuzumi-san. Even so, her attacks appear to be blocked by that same armor.

Reese-san’s opponent is likely Sugita-kun. They have a history, but frankly, things look grim for our side. After all, Reese-san has been stripped of all her equipment. If I remember correctly, Reese-san’s Unique Skill causes her strength to fluctuate wildly depending on what she has equipped. There’s not much a stark-naked Reese-san can do.

Hina-san is facing Jinno-kun. I recognized him and Sugita-kun immediately since they had their helmets off. They seem to be an even match. A series of one-on-one duels has formed between Natsumi’s Apostles and our former classmates… but the truth is, we’re short-handed. Fortunately, Orcus is dealing with Kakei-kun, but even Orcus is struggling against a firearm. But the biggest problem is the one person who is completely “free.”

A bolt of lightning flies. It’s directed not at us, but at the Magic Beast Hunters gathered here.

 ”Kh! ‘Protection’!”

Mercedes-san barely manages to block it-and I mean barely. She’s firing sorcery at people who already stood no chance against our classmates. And it’s lightning, no less. That means the “free” agent is Kodama Satomi-san. She’s acting smug, only using low-tier sorcery for now, but if she drops a ‘Keraunos,’ the people in the rear will be wiped out instantly. I have to do something.

I obsessively target Hagimoto-kun’s heart, thrusting again and again. I’m not repeating myself for no reason. Hagimoto-kun’s Unique Skill is a passive that debuffs the target’s abilities across the board. The issue is that the effect isn’t just on me; it hits every ally in the vicinity. The fact that we can still fight on even terms despite that means our special training in the Demon Realm wasn’t for nothing. At least I’m not forgetting my Skills or anything like that. Compared to that, a stat drop is much more manageable.

But the reality is that we need a breakthrough. Someone-specifically Hagimoto-kun or Yamihama-san, who’s neutralizing our long-range attacks-needs to be taken out immediately. I know I shouldn’t be impatient, but I’m just one move short.

”In that case, shall I provide that extra hand?”

 ”Eh?”

The owner of that voice was wearing nothing but a simple robe, completely naked underneath.

”Whoa!? …What the hell, are you some kind of exhibitionist?”

Hagimoto-kun said. It’s no wonder he reacted that way. A nearly-nude woman appearing right in the heat of battle.

”Hey! Calling me an exhibitionist is just rude! So, Mihiro-chan, who exactly do you want me to handle?”

 The exhibitionist… rather, Carmilla-san, asks.

”What’s with this freak? She one of your friends? Then I don’t have to hold back!”

Hagimoto-kun said as he delivered a flash of his Great Scythe. Since she’s naked and has zero defense, Carmilla-san is sliced clean in two from her left shoulder down to her right flank without any resistance. Her upper half slides off with a wet sound.

”…Ah. I ended up killing her. She was a beauty, too. Since she’s an exhibitionist, I should’ve pinned her down and r*ped her instead of killing her. What a waste…”

”Man… I wonder how long it’s been since I died three times in a single day.”

 ”…Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!?”

Hagimoto-kun screamed. Well, of course he’s shocked. She sustained a wound that should be an instant kill, yet she’s acting nonchalant-she’s even holding her severed upper torso with her right hand. It’s straight out of a horror movie.

”So, who should I be fighting?”

”…Ah, um. Yamihama-san. She’s using sorcery to suck up the arrows Mei-san fires…” Mihiro replied.

”Got it. And are you okay with this boy?”

”Ah, yes. I’ll handle him. I can manage.”

”Alright. Then I’ll leave this one to you.”

With that, Carmilla-san pressed her severed halves back together (she was supporting them with both hands because they looked like they might slide off) and walked away from me.

(The only reason I stayed calm was because I’d already witnessed Carmilla-san’s immortality. If this were my first time seeing it, I definitely would’ve had the same reaction as Hagimoto-kun. Anyway, moving on.)

Since I said I’d handle him, it’s only right that I do it alone. However, this ability debuff-while not as bad as the ‘Oblivion’ effect-is still a massive pain.

”Hey, I heard you’re actually Chihiro? And that this form is your ‘true’ self?”

”I don’t know who told you that, but yes. What about it?” Mihiro said.

”Nah, I just thought, ‘Damn, she’s a fine woman.’ By the way, you know those ‘Warriors’ style action games?”

(I wondered where he was going with this, and it’s games?)

”I know them, what of it?”

”See, I love those games. The kind where you just stomp all over mobs and bosses with overwhelming power. Doesn’t this situation feel exactly like that?”

 ”…So what?”

”Just surrender. If you do, I’ll make you feel real good.”

His face is hidden by the helmet, but I bet he’s wearing a pathetic, sleazy expression.

”You realize I was originally a guy, right?”

 ”You’re a girl now, though.”

”…I still have ‘it,’ you know?”

 ”For real?”

 ”For real.”

 ”…”

(Oh, he went quiet. I guess so. Most people would be grossed out by a futanari². Natsumi doesn’t mind, though. I don’t go as far as taking it in my mouth, but he strokes it while we’re in the middle of things.)

 ”Both?”

 ”…Both.”

 (Wait, what?)

”Then it’s not a problem! Surrender!”

 (Wait, what? Well, either way.)

 ”I refuse. I belong to Natsumi. Besides… Hagimoto-kun, we just don’t click.”

 ”What was that?”

”I don’t hate games either. But I’m the type who enjoys a challenge. Like playing ‘Resident Evil’ with just a knife and no guns-I love that kind of thing.”

(Natsumi was exasperated by that too, if I recall. Incidentally, in games with difficulty settings, I did nothing but high-difficulty runs. I was honestly sick of that “Gaki-Pato” thing… and “Elda-Souls” was a bit traumatic.)

”A challenge run? Well, I won’t knock it.”

”I don’t intend to knock ‘Warriors’ games either.”

(Everyone has their own way of enjoying games. Besides.)

 ”‘Single-minded devotion can pierce even a stone.’ It’s a phrase I like.”

I thrust at his heart again. And again. I keep thrusting.

”I told you, it’s useless! No matter how many times you do that, it’s pointless!”

Hagimoto-kun said as he swung the Great Scythe. I dodge. I close the distance and thrust. Over and over. To an observer, it might look like a futile effort. But you see-just as water droplets carve through rock over many years-what happens if you keep hitting the exact same spot?

 ”What? Eh, kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!?”

A sudden feminine scream rang out. I look over to see Yamihama-san being sucked into Carmilla-san’s hand.

”Boy, your control is sloppy. If you’re going to use that sorcery, you should be able to do at least this much,” Carmilla-san said.

It seems Carmilla-san used the same sorcery as Yamihama-san. She likely created a microscopic black hole-and one with actual directionality. The target was Yamihama-san. No matter how sturdy her armor was, it couldn’t resist the laws of physics. By now, Yamihama-san must be getting flattened by the super-gravity inside that micro-black hole.

 Next is my turn.

 ”Here I go… Secret Technique: ‘Mil Espada’³!”

Literally translated, ‘A Thousand Swords.’ True to its name, it’s a thousand slashes-or in this case, a thousand thrusts. Every single one of those strikes hits the exact same point: his heart. Without a hair’s breadth of deviation, I thrust and thrust and keep thrusting at the same spot.

”Nu, oh, ooooh! What the hell is this attack!? But it’s useless, it won’t work! You can’t pierce this armor!”

With a normal weapon, he’d be right. But this rapier is a custom piece by Tatei-kun-a crystal rapier augmented with ‘Unbreakable.’ And when you strike the exact same spot perfectly…

I hear the faint sound of something small cracking, and then-

 ”Ga… ha!?”

”I told you, didn’t I? My favorite phrase is ‘Single-minded devotion can pierce even a stone’.”

I pierce through the impenetrable armor and straight into his heart. It didn’t come out the other side, but this is enough. As long as it gets through.

”No matter how tough the armor is, I wonder about the person inside. ‘Heat’!”

 ”Gu, ga, gagagagagaga!?”

The white-hot blade sears the heart it has skewered. From the sheer agony, Hagimoto-kun thrashes his limbs… and then he stops moving.

(I had just killed a person-a former classmate-but I didn’t feel any strange sentimentality about it.)

Then, I look toward another point. Mei-san fires an arrow-not a normal one like before, but one made entirely of metal, likely a tungsten and Mithril alloy. She fires it from a bow also made entirely of metal, even the string, which a normal person wouldn’t even be able to draw. That arrow didn’t just pierce Kodama-san’s head; it blew her entire head off, neck and all. Simultaneously, Rei-san spun her spear in a high-speed spiral, piercing through Mayuzumi-san’s torso like a corkscrew.

 Summary:

A chaotic battlefield scene where Natsumi’s group faces off against their former classmates. Mihiro struggles against Hagimoto’s debuffs and impenetrable armor until Carmilla arrives to provide a grotesque distraction. Through persistent, high-precision attacks, Mihiro eventually breaches Hagimoto’s defenses, leading to a brutal series of fatalities for the opposing classmates.

 —

 Trivia:

 - Mihiro’s preference for ‘challenge runs’ in games reflects their tactical patience in actual combat.

 - Carmilla’s ability to copy and improve upon Yamihama’s sorcery suggests her power level is far beyond the students.

 - The mention of ‘Elda-Souls’ and ‘Gaki-Pato’ are meta-references to Elden Ring and Gaki no Tsukai/Patrol-type games, grounding the character’s past in real-world Japanese culture.

 - Mihiro’s lack of sentimentality after killing a classmate signals a permanent psychological shift

 —

 Character Insight:

Mihiro and Hagimoto’s dynamic highlights a clash of gaming philosophies (overpowering vs. skill/persistence). Hagimoto’s sleazy attempt to negotiate upon learning of Mihiro’s anatomy shows his moral bankruptcy, which ultimately justifies Mihiro’s cold execution of him.

 —

 Lore And Worldbuilding Context:

The battle introduces ‘Sariel’s Protection,’ a powerful passive debuff that can tilt the scales against superior fighters. We also see ‘unbreakable’ item augmentations and the existence of highly advanced magical materials like tungsten-mithril alloys used in specialized weaponry.

 —

 TL Notes:

The author notes a ‘difficulty in birth’ for this chapter, deciding to include multiple character fatalities simultaneously. The deaths are explicitly described as ‘Fatalities’ in the meta-text, referencing Mortal Kombat style finishing moves.

 TL Notes:

1 Unique Skills: Rare, powerful abilities inherent to individuals in this world, often reflecting their personality or desires.

2 Futanari: A Japanese term for hermaphroditism/androgyny, often used in ACG (Anime, Comic, Games) contexts to describe characters with both male and female primary characteristics.

3 Mil Espada: Spanish for ‘A Thousand Swords’, a high-tier thrusting technique utilized by Mihiro.

Notes:

• Hagimoto – Ex‑classmate and Sugita gang member who bullied Natsumi. He appears cool and smart in glasses, but is vulgar and foul‑mouthed. Dressed in impenetrable white plate armor, he wields a great scythe called Grimm Reaper and uses the Unique Skill ‘Sariel’s Protection’ that debuffs foes. Mihiro eventually slays him.

• Yamihama – A former classmate working for the opposing side. Uses darkness-based sorcery to neutralize projectiles. Slain by Carmilla’s gravity magic.

• Mei – The Apostle of Sloth, elder Kijima twin, resists her family’s inheritance and moves in eerie tandem with her sister Rei—pale, silent, and corpse-like in appearance, yet terrifyingly precise in combat, firing arrows of light through the Envyos Labyrinth as part of Chihiro’s party. Cold, robotic, and utterly loyal, she addresses Chihiro as “Goshujin-sama,” her unwavering devotion masking a haunting stillness that makes her both tragic and fearsome.

• Rei – Eldest Kijima twin, an undead girl with corpse‑like visage, fights as a frontline tank wielding a cross‑shaped spear, calm in death yet razor‑sharp in combat, perfectly synced with her sister Mei. Younger sister, the Apostle of Envy, envies Mei but shares tight battle coordination with her.

• Sugita – Sugita Kazuo, heir of police elite, leads the Sugita gang and bullies Natsumi Sasaki. Cold, lean, sharp‑featured with an arrogant stare. Uses Steal to manipulate women, impersonated hero Sieben, was stripped to Level 7, cursed as a Hero, became a Lesser Vampire, executed and erased. He assaulted Reese and Yukiko, mocked for a small member, embodying irredeemable evil.

• Reese – Jessica’s sister, a striking blonde, serves as the Apostle of Wrath—short‑tempered, impulsive, and armed with the gear she first received. Once under Sugita’s control, she fell into despair and exposure when the effect ended, and now, as a former friend of Natsu, she places loyalty to the Goddess above their past bond.

• Natsumi – 168‑171 cm, 57‑59 kg; baby‑faced, bangs, dark hair. Resurrected “God” of Greedia (Sieben), silent white‑winged Commander‑in‑Chief leading ant‑soldiers and priestesses, wields a veiny holy sword, builds a harem via biological/magical dominance, best friend to the duo as a Materialization Alchemist who gave the ‘If Seeds’. Master/partner of Reese, who taught him powerful ‘Partial Mimicry’.

• Jinno – Jinno Yuto, a former classmate of Yamato Hina and Sugita, now an Apostle of Aurelia. He dons heavy white‑and‑gold armor, bears a holy sword, and wields the Unique Skill ‘Protection of Uriel’. Once a self‑righteous hero, he leads campaigns against Sasaki while protecting allies like Nagase.

• Kakei – Kakei Seijuro, also known simply as Kakei, is a 173 cm tall, 59 kg slender male with seaweed‑colored hair. He wields modern firearms via his Unique Skill, has Infinite Ammunition and Aurelia’s Curse, and feels guilt over harming children. He is selfish, elusive, indifferent to class drama, and well‑versed in guns.

• Natsu – The protagonist and ‘Avenger’. Formerly considered a plain, powerless loner before being summoned. Currently possesses Sin Magic and a connection to his true comrades.

• Orcus – Standing over 190 cm tall, this muscular High Orc Brave—once the son of Yuko Oshiro and an orc—now bears bronze skin, messy long red hair and wild, masculine features. After defeat he became a ‘Rakshasa’ and Natsuki’s subordinate. As a warrior and associate of the protagonist, he maintains a familiar, slightly antagonistic bond with Bolgano.

• Hina – Yamato Hina, a serious, beautiful student‑council vice‑president with long straight hair and sharp eyes, is the Apostle of Pride. She wields fire magic and a sword, trained by Sieben and reborn as her Master’s servant; she sometimes calls him ‘Onii‑chan’ and her mind regresses to childlike. As a Japanese associate of the protagonist, she despises nuclear‑scale destruction, her mind infantilized and corrected to serve the Goddess, viewing conflict as a battle against a rebel.

• Mercedes – A girl with rare black hair in a sea of blondes and browns, small‑chested, precise enough to trim her pubic hair into an inverted triangle, with large, upturned eyes that used to sparkle but went flat after trauma. Member of the Renegade clan, she wields fire magic with tight control and is weirdly picky about cleanliness, especially when it comes to Sugita, who she treats with a mix of cold fastidiousness and deep disgust.

• Kodama – Kodama Satomi—a tanned, bleached‑haired “gal” and self‑proclaimed fan of Chihiro. Skilled in Lightning Bolt sorcery with stats surpassing a Gargoyle’s despite low melee ability. Once an escapee with Yuki and Kijima’s sister, she suffered under Sasaki —whose female form later mimics her appearance, claiming to have “eaten” her.

• Satomi – A self-proclaimed fan of Chihiro. A bronzed girl with bleached hair.

• Sato – A man clad in white armor and partner to Suzuki. He possesses a power similar to Yukiko’s Aegis.

• Mihiro – Yuki Mihiro (also called Mihiro), a 160 cm tall futanari with short black hair, B‑W‑H 82‑55‑80, originally male (Chihiro) now living in a female body with a unique gender identity. She wields a crystal rapier, performs high‑precision, high‑speed thrusts, masters swift water‑based sorcery, and is loyal to Natsumi. Associate of the protagonist, she leads a devoted circle of disciples and is haunted by the salvation void left by forbidden art.

• Carmilla – Carmilla Viede (aka Oribe Mira), a 500‑year‑old witch and former Queen of Envyos, chairs Envyos Magic Academy. Once a Japanese high‑school student and famed voice actress, she sports silver hair, green eyes, and a black robe with gold trim; her true form is black‑haired and black‑eyed. An immortal ally of Mihiro’s group, she appears nearly naked in a robe, can regenerate from bisection and wield high‑level gravity/void sorcery.

• Chihiro – 178 cm, 70 kg male; handsome, athletic top student in the soccer club and Natsumi’s childhood friend. Formerly Mihiro, he identifies as a man and denies any past or desire to be a woman, despite Natsu’s claims of a shared history.

• Tatei – Tatei Kozoo, 186 cm tall, once gaunt at 52 kg and an otaku friend of Natsumi, now a muscle‑bound powerhouse with a sharp, intrepid face. He forges class gear via Materialization Alchemy—most famously the X‑shaped restraint used in Sugita’s execution. Former best friend of Natsu, he now speaks in a stilted samurai style, no longer sees her as a brother‑in‑arms, and serves Sasaki as a loyal retainer. Best friend of Yokoo, battling severe anorexia and weakness while protecting Alice.

• Tate – Male Otaku friend of Reese. Gaunt and thin, wears glasses. Possesses Materialization Alchemy skill.
