Chapter 234 New Masako
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
From the living room, I could see Yuki, Sonoda, and Takeda’s group emerging one after another from the My Room doors of the guild members appearing on the beach, bringing their lovers and Soul-less Dolls with them.
”Ah! There’s Hina-chan and Nanami… Huh? A new girl? Was there a girl like that?” Karen asked.
”I don’t think she was at the facility,” Leticia added, as they both tilted their heads in confusion.
When I looked toward Sayaka and Sanae, both of them shook their heads. Following Karen’s gaze, I saw a girl about 160 centimeters tall with long black hair. She had sharp, almond-shaped eyes, well-defined features, and a large chest.
(Hoh, she’s quite a beautiful girl. But was there someone like her in the catalog?)
The unfamiliar girl walked behind Takeda, smiling as she talked with the Soul-less Doll, Irina.
(Wait? Takeda? Looking closely, that guy has an incredibly bright expression. His complexion, which used to be earthy, is now glowing with health. Hey, hey, don’t tell me that beautiful girl is…)
”That might actually be Masako. My guess is he used the Cosmetic Surgery Medicine¹,” I said.
”Eeeh?! No way!?” Karen shouted.
”If you look closely… maybe there’s a glimpse of her old self?” Leticia wondered.
”Oh, now that you mention it, Takeda did say he was going to buy Cosmetic Surgery Medicine,” Sayaka recalled.
”To think she could change that much…” Sanae muttered.
”My, she was plenty cute before… but seeing that smile, Sugita-san must be happier now,” Arisawa Coach remarked.
”Hoh, she’s become quite beautiful. And what a great smile,” I noted.
Everyone was surprised by my words. The adults in the group seemed happy to see Masako’s smile. Apparently, she used to cry to Moe and Kyoko every day, saying a ‘homely’ person like her would never be bought and would just be killed.
Leading the group, I stepped out from the living room onto the isolated island² to welcome Yuki and the others.
”Good morning, Guild Master, and everyone,” Yuki said.
”Morning-ssu, Guild Master, Tsukigase, and Karen-chan’s group,” Sonoda greeted.
”Hmph, good morning, Guild Master,” Takeda added.
”Yeah, morning,” I replied.
Following my lead, Sayaka and Karen’s group returned the greetings. However, everyone’s eyes were glued to the girl who appeared to be Masako.
”Heh, let me introduce her to everyone again. This is Sugita Masako. Under my care, she has been reborn,” Takeda said, wrapping his arm around Masako’s waist boastfully.
(I felt a flicker of irritation at his smug face, but well… in that cramped room, amidst a stiff atmosphere, he had desperately saved up DP—even while bordering on impotence—to buy that medicine. I’ll endure it for now.)
It really was Masako. She had truly changed. In my mind, I compared the old Masako to the current one.
(Hmm, if I look for it, is there a trace of her old self? If she reunited with her family, she might be able to play it off by saying she worked hard on her makeup. Though, it’s definitely in the realm of the special effects makeup I used to see in short clips.)
As I was thinking that, the ‘New Masako,’ pushed forward by Takeda, took a step out and greeted everyone.
”This is embarrassing… Um… Sayaka-senpai and Sanae-senpai. And Karen-senpai and Leticia-chan. Also, Wakui-sensei and Arisawa Coach. Thank you for all the advice you’ve given me. I was able to resolve my complexes with the Cosmetic Surgery Medicine. If it’s alright, I’d like to continue being friends,” she said.
”Wow! It really was Masako! I didn’t recognize you at all!” Karen exclaimed.
”Ooh, a completely different person,” Sayaka noted.
”No, that is a stunning transformation,” Arisawa Coach added.
”Yeah, you seem much brighter somehow,” Leticia said.
”If Sugita-san can smile now, that is enough for me as a teacher. I’m glad for you,” Wakui-sensei said.
”It’s great if it helps you be more positive. Nothing to be ashamed of,” I told her.
”Thank you, everyone,” Masako replied, bowing deeply with tears in her eyes.
(Well, I’m pro-surgery myself. If becoming beautiful gives someone confidence and lets them be positive, then it’s a good thing. Your face will collapse when you get old? That’s the same for any beauty. Besides, I heard the Cosmetic Surgery Medicine has no side effects. It’s much better than getting surgery on the surface world.)
Moe and the others gathered around Masako, starting a lively conversation along with Hina and Nanami. Leaving the women aside, I invited Yuki and Sonoda to the terrace. Takeda was busy bragging about Masako, so I left him be.
”So, you managed to conquer the 10th Floor, right?” I asked after sitting down.
”Yes, we managed it somehow,” Yuki answered.
”We even got our own small island-ssu!” Sonoda added.
”Oh, I see, I see. So how was it? He was strong, wasn’t he?” I asked.
”Yeah, incredibly so. We were fighting for nearly two hours. That roar was truly troublesome,” Yuki explained.
”The All-Star Guardians had also grown stronger, so it was quite a struggle-ssu. It was a fierce battle that forced us to use up all the Grade 3 and Grade 4 Potions we brought,” Sonoda said.
”I heard the King’s special ability makes them about 20% stronger. If you used Grade 3 Potions, does that mean someone was seriously injured?” I inquired.
”Yes, the tanks, Togashi and Shimada, took quite a beating. Also, Sasuke traded blows with a Goblin Assassin and was forcibly sent back to the Magic Sealing Crystal. Togashi and Shimada’s wounds healed with the potions, but they lost so much blood they’ve been resting in their rooms since yesterday,” Yuki reported.
”They kept protecting our comrades who couldn’t move from the frequent roars. I was so panicked, thinking we had to kill him fast-ssu,” Sonoda added.
”I see. Well, I’m glad no one died,” I said.
(Sasuke is the name of Yuki’s new familiar, a Goblin Assassin. These guys definitely noticed Saizou’s existence. The naming is too pinpointed. Well, it might be fine to reveal his existence to Yuki’s and Kurokawa’s groups. I want to use Saizou as a messenger for Kurokawa anyway.)
As I was thinking that, Sheena and Lunaria brought out iced tea. Yuki and Sonoda’s eyes were glued to Lunaria, who appeared in a maid outfit carrying a tray.
”My Lord, here is the cold iced tea,” Sheena said with a smile.
Lunaria placed glasses in front of Yuki and Sonoda.
Thud! Thud!
However, because she set them down with such force, the liquid splashed out, soaking the table.
”…Drink,” Lunaria commanded.
”A-Ah, yes,” Yuki stammered.
”T-Thank you-ssu,” Sonoda added.
(She has an atrocious attitude.)
”My apologies… Princess, come here for a moment,” Sheena said.
”Igih…!” Lunaria grunted as Sheena grabbed her wolf ears and dragged her toward the living room.
(Not a pinch—she grabbed them firmly. That looked painful.)
”Sorry about that. Apparently, she’s a former princess and is currently practicing her maid duties,” I explained.
”T-That’s fine, but those ears… Did you get another Soul-less Doll?” Yuki asked.
”She was a crazy beauty-ssu… Following Sheena-san, that’s two Beastmen. I’m seriously jealous-ssu,” Sonoda said.
”Well, yeah. Apparently, she was the Owner of the blonde Doll when Sheena was alive. I asked Succubus Management to look for her,” I answered.
”You asked that Succubus Management!?” Yuki shouted.
”That’s insane-ssu, Guild Master! How did you get along with that blunt Succubus Management?” Sonoda asked.
”If you buy 1st Rank dolls multiple times, you do. Apparently, selling expensive slaves leads to better evaluations for the assigned Succubus Management,” I explained.
”Is that so? In my case, it was a Succubus Management who talked like a Gyaru, and I was overwhelmed the whole time,” Yuki recalled.
”Ah, so that’s why her attitude was so bad when I bought Nanami. Because a 4th Rank didn’t raise her evaluation, huh?” Sonoda realized.
(They both seemed to recall the Succubus Management who appeared when they bought their slaves. Both wore bitter expressions. I smirked inwardly at them, took a sip of iced tea, and asked about the battle on the 10th Floor.)
According to them, the number of subordinates had increased by eight, but the Goblin King apparently joined the battle midway through. Yuki mentioned it might have been because the battle took too long, or because there were too many testers remaining.
(That’s certainly possible. Next, the Karate Club or the Baseball Club members will probably challenge it, so I can pinpoint the cause of the King’s mid-battle entry by asking them too.)
Even with ten people, they struggled.
(If the number increases by eight, it’s certainly troublesome. And even in that state, the King joined in—I’m impressed no one died. Normally, only the five D-Rankers should have been able to move after the King’s roar. Two of those were tanks who would have had their hands full protecting their stiffened comrades. That means only three people had to deal with the remaining buffed Guardians, Goblins, and the King. No wonder it was a struggle.)
I analyzed the situation and instructed them on information gathering and sharing.
”Yes, I think Hida or Wakamiya’s group will be next, so I’ll let them know,” Yuki promised.
”Do that. So, what were the rewards?” I asked.
”From the pearl chest, we got a Grade 3 Magic Tent and two 2nd Class Slave Exchange Tickets. From the silver chest, we got a Magic Gun, the same as Karen-san’s,” Yuki reported.
”Two 2nd Class tickets, huh…” I mused.
(In my case, it was two 1st Rank tickets, but for the second party to conquer it, it’s two 2nd Class tickets. Well, the sale price for 1st Rank is 2,000,000 DP, so two are 4,000,000 DP. 2nd Class is 1,500,000 DP, so two are 3,000,000 DP—it’s not that strange. Does that mean tickets alone won’t get you all fifteen 1st Rank girls? You have to buy them with DP.)
”Yes, so I sold them at a slight discount to Wakamiya and Akatsu, whose lovers are in 2nd Class,” Yuki said.
”What, you didn’t exchange them for 2nd Class slaves yourself?” I asked.
”I wanted to help the guild members’ lovers first. Besides, it seemed like it would cause an argument, so I thought DP would be better,” Yuki explained.
”We decided to split that DP and let everyone buy the girl they like. Even at 4th Rank, there are pretty cute girls if you don’t obsess over them being virgins,” Sonoda added.
”I see. Well, there were ten of you and only two tickets. That might be better,” I agreed.
”Yes, but this time, we gave a larger share to Takeda as a loan from the party. It seems he used that to buy the Cosmetic Surgery Medicine,” Yuki noted.
”I was shocked that Sugita-san changed that much-ssu. I might buy and drink it too,” Sonoda said.
”Hahaha, Sonoda, you don’t need to drink it. You have a girlfriend,” Yuki laughed.
”That’s right. For a man, it’s not about looks,” I said.
”Haa, this is why handsome guys are so…” Sonoda sighed.
(Yuki really thinks about the guild members. Selling the tickets at a discount and even giving Takeda a loan. He’s much more suited to be a Guild Master than I am.)
”So, you got the special reward, the small island. What’s it like?” I asked.
”It’s much smaller than here-ssu,” Sonoda replied.
”That’s right. As soon as you leave My Room, you’re at the sea. The island is maybe about 50 meters in a straight line,” Yuki added.
”That small?” I asked.
”It is small, but there’s a beach, and just like here, the water is shallow for quite a distance, so Hina and the others were overjoyed,” Yuki said.
”Nanami was really happy too, so I’m totally satisfied-ssu,” Sonoda added.
”Next is the Re-run. Make sure you have your camping gear ready. Don’t skimp on the Magic Tent,” I advised.
”Yeah, I’m planning to buy another Grade 3 Magic Tent with the party funds and the ticket sales profit. I also intend to get Bells of Vigilance and barriers,” Yuki said.
”That’s good. You can earn from Orcs, so you’ll make it back soon,” I told them.
”One was 600 DP, right? If it’s triple that now, we’ll have quite a lot of leeway. I want to renovate my My Room,” Yuki planned.
”I want to renovate too-ssu. I want to say goodbye to that room that looks like a jail cell-ssu,” Sonoda added.
(While Yuki and the others are Re-running, I’m doing a Gacha Re-run. This really is a trashy Dungeon.)
I finished hearing about the guild members’ progress and handed them some ingredients for a barbecue. They spent the day at the sea and went home in the evening.
(I also had a fulfilling holiday: leading Sanae to the rocky area during the day and taking her from behind while whispering that everyone might come by, pinning Moe down in the changing room while she was doing laundry, and making Karen urinate in front of me when she came back to the toilet, then taking her right there in the bathroom.)
Night fell, and we all played a kart game. Sheena chose a rabbit character, and Lunaria chose a wolf character. Of course, Lunaria, who was playing for the first time, came in last.
(She was expressionless, but it looked like she was about to crush the controller, so I hurriedly took it away. She was clearly very frustrated. She’ll probably practice while we’re out exploring.)
Lunaria was also bad at hide-and-seek games; the only ones she was decent at were fighting games. After enjoying ourselves, we split into two groups to take a bath. I took a bath separately from Lunaria and Sheena for the sake of the night’s entertainment, and afterward, I had a beer with Sheena before inviting the two of them to the bedroom.
(Now then, tonight is master and servant play. I shall thoroughly enjoy Lunaria’s body. I’m looking forward to seeing exactly how a Silver Wolf-kin is built down there.)

Summary:
Takeda unveils a dramatically transformed Masako after using expensive Cosmetic Surgery Medicine, sparking discussion on beauty and confidence. Yuki’s party successfully conquers the 10th Floor, though they faced a grueling battle against the Goblin King and his buffed subordinates. The chapter concludes with a casual holiday at the beach followed by the protagonist focusing on his newest acquisition, Lunaria.
—
Trivia:
- The mention of ‘special effects makeup’ suggests Masako might eventually encounter her family, creating potential conflict regarding her identity.
- The Goblin King’s mid-battle entry suggests the dungeon mechanics adapt to the time taken or number of surviving challengers, a critical detail for future boss fights.
- The protagonist’s internal admission that Yuki is a better leader hints at a potential shift in guild administration or a future reliance on Yuki’s moral compass
—
Character Insight:
Yuki demonstrates selfless leadership by prioritizing his guild members’ happiness over personal DP gain, contrasting with Takeda’s more superficial pride in Masako’s new looks. Lunaria’s clumsy and defiant ‘maid training’ shows her lingering royal pride being slowly eroded through domestic discipline.
—
Lore And Worldbuilding Context:
The introduction of the ‘special island’ reward for top-tier boss clears introduces a new tier of housing/territory rewards. Cosmetic Surgery Medicine is confirmed to be highly effective with zero side effects, a major world-building element regarding DP utility.
—
TL Notes:
The term ‘New Masako’ is a play on ‘New Model’ or ‘New Version’ often seen in Japanese pop culture regarding transformations.
