Chapter 506 The Type to Finish Piled-Up Homework Early ②

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Among the homework that piled up during my seclusion, the remaining tasks are the matter of Wielope’s Ancient Elf¹, also known as “Haha-sama,” or Carley, extending her stay, and the fact that the merchant guilds of the southwestern maritime nation, Sylvaol, seem to be locked in a battle for the right to trade with my shop.

There also seems to have been some development regarding the resurrection technology of “D**do-Buddy,” but that can wait. I am the type of person who saves the marinated egg in my ramen for the very end.

That said, asking Her Majesty is the quickest way to handle the Carley situation, and she likely knows something about Sylvaol as well, so these annoying chores should be wrapped up soon.

”So, is the matter with Carley all right?” Kento asked.

”Ah… that. Well, you needn’t worry too much about it. At least, not regarding the woman herself,” replied Her Majesty.

We were still in Her Majesty’s office. When I ignored “Holy Figure” Loire-Rose, who seemed to be trying to look good in front of me, and asked my question, Her Majesty gave another hesitant reply. In contrast, Rose, whose cheeks were still slightly flushed, jumped on the change of subject to add her own words.

”Rayla-chi was saying, ‘I’m not going home until I’m pregnant,’ after all ne-!” Rose said.

”Umu… That head of the Wielope underworld… Gustav, was it? It seems she also instructed him to delay the withdrawal of troops as much as possible,” Her Majesty added.

 ”Well, that’s certainly…” Kento said.

Involuntarily, I imagined the pathetic expression on Gustav’s face after being given such an order by Carley. Since he was sent back to his country once trade resumed, he must be being worked to the bone as a messenger this time. I feel somewhat sorry for him in various ways, but it is not my fault… probably. Likely. Maybe.

”By the way, is that actually bad?” Kento asked.

”Who can say… If the withdrawal proceeds as soon as spring arrives, there should be no issue. If it gets too late, our country’s face will be lost,” Her Majesty replied.

”The Church’s face too ne-. So, Kento-chi, do your best and keep those hips swinging cho-. Rayla-chi was moping around just because Kento-chi didn’t come by for a few days ne-!” Rose said.

 ”…Understood,” Kento replied.

(For some reason, the honor of our country and the Church has been entrusted to my “D**do-Buddy,” but if I can actually get her pregnant, there shouldn’t be a problem. I feel a strange weight in my balls that is different from pure lust, but since stress isn’t good for the body, I will pretend I didn’t notice.)

”…One last thing. The Sylvaol merchants seem to be making quite a fuss; does Your Majesty know anything about that?” Kento asked.

”Ah, that… they should have come here to pay their respects. However, they only came to seek permission for trade, so I did not meet them personally,” Her Majesty said.

”I see… Then, I will hear the detailed situation from them directly. Also, while I have the chance, may I ask Your Majesty’s opinion on southern trade?” Kento asked.

”Hmm, I suppose…” Her Majesty said.

As the conversation shifted to the next topic, Her Majesty stroked her mouth with an air of indifference. In truth, she likely has no interest in anything south of Sylvaol. That might be because her hands are full with neighboring countries, or because expanding the nation’s reach would cause financial strain.

”To be honest, my view is that it is not something to be actively pursued. Traditionally, our country has a sense of aversion toward southern trade,” Her Majesty explained.

”An aversion, you say…?” Kento asked.

”Umu. As a nation, that is. I will not stop you from involving yourself, however,” Her Majesty said.

I flinched slightly at words that were stronger than I expected. (It is not just that she isn’t active about it; she wants to keep it at a distance? The reason seems to lie in her phrase ‘as a nation’…)

”You are aware, of course, that there are some territories in the south of our country that face the sea?” Her Majesty asked.

”Yes, of course. I have heard there are a few small fishing villages scattered about,” Kento replied.

”Umu. At the time of our founding, there was a movement to build a large port in that area, but…” Her Majesty said.

 ”Did it fail?” Kento asked.

”No, it collapsed before we even began. It was partly due to deep-rooted opposition, and partly because Sylvaol rose to power while we were hesitating,” Her Majesty explained.

(I see, no wonder I have never heard of it. If they had built a port town and then abandoned it for some reason, I should have come across that info while studying this country. But if they never started, I wouldn’t find out just by skimming history.)

(Well, for someone like me who knows the previous world, it felt a bit unnatural not to utilize the sea despite being adjacent to it. But in this world infested with monsters, building a single town is quite a chore. I simply thought they couldn’t build it because it was too far from other towns.)

”What was this ‘deep-rooted opposition’?” Kento asked.

”Simply put, it was because no profit was foreseen. For details… Rose can probably tell you more?” Her Majesty said.

”Hmm, yeah ne-. I’ve only skimmed the surface of that, but I can talk about the Church’s view ne-,” Rose said.

”Is the Church involved?” Kento asked.

Rose nodded. Come to think of it, the “Holy City” is also a capital located in the south, and there should have been several port towns south of that.

(Above all, according to Carley, the humans of this Northern Continent are descendants of those who crossed the sea from the Southern Continent, and they should have originally possessed seafaring technology. If so, southern trade should have been happening since long before Sylvaol’s rise.)

”Yeah, to put it simply, the Church doesn’t recommend southern trade ne-,” Rose explained.

”That is surprising… May I ask why?” Kento asked.

”Well, like, an ancient historical reason? Considering what Rayla-chi said, it seems our ancestors fled from the Southern Continent ne-,” Rose said.

 ”Fled…?” Kento asked.

”Yep. Half of it is my imagination, but the fact is that after they settled in this land, they never tried to go back to the Southern Continent. Even when the Church was first formed, they were like, ‘Don’t do it ne-.’”

(I see. Whether they actually fled or not, it seems certain that they didn’t desire trade in the old days. Perhaps as a result, some of the seafaring technology was lost.)

”But, you know, humans always want to do what is forbidden ne-,” Rose said.

”…Was there a crackdown?” Kento asked.

”Nah, there was no need for that. After all, almost no ships that went out to the open sea ever returned. It is still a bit like that today, but southern trade was a gamble. A massive gamble where you gain great wealth if you hit it big, but lose everything if you fail,” Rose explained.

”Ah… then it certainly cannot be recommended…” Kento said.

”Exactly ne-. So, there were probably a lot of opposing opinions even in the early Kingdom of Canaria, right? That was back when the Church’s teachings were still deeply rooted,” Rose said.

”That is generally correct. Our Royal Family chose to live with their feet on the ground rather than floating their desires upon the sea,” Her Majesty concluded.

(Her Majesty finished with a poetic turn of phrase. Well, it was likely a wise decision at the time. Since the Kingdom of Canaria has survived to this day, there is no reason to poke holes in it. But it seems the Sylvaol Kingdom challenged that difficulty. I don’t know how they achieved it, though…)

”Well, I hear that massive gamble isn’t such a gamble these days. It is not our side sending the ships, and as I said before, I have no problem with you selling your goods. Though, if you start talking about buying a ship, I might step in to stop you,” Her Majesty said.

”Yes, I understand. I will keep that in mind,” Kento replied.

I accepted the warning for now and nodded. (I have no such plans at the moment anyway. Now then, since there is no point in asking them anything more, it is about time I took my leave.) I thought as I started to stand up…

”Thank you for the talk. Well then, I will be going—” Kento said.

”Wait a sec ne-! That is not gonna fly, Kento-chi,” Rose interrupted.

 ”Eh?” Kento asked.

”Umu. It wasn’t only Carley who was being neglected, you know?” Her Majesty said.

 ”Ah…” Kento muttered.

In the end, I was not able to do any more work that day, and I ended up having to keep company with a “Holy Figure,” a Queen, and an Ancient Elf—a lineup that was as gorgeous as it was confusing…

 Summary:

Kento attempts to clear his diplomatic backlog by consulting Her Majesty about Carley’s extended stay and the aggressive trade demands from Sylvaol. He learns that the Kingdom of Canaria and the Church have historical aversions to southern trade due to the high risks and a history of ancestors fleeing the Southern Continent. The chapter ends with Kento being forced to spend time with the powerful women he has been ‘neglecting’ during his seclusion.

 —

 Trivia:

 - The mention of humans fleeing the Southern Continent hints at a major catastrophe or conflict in the world’s history that shaped current cultural taboos.

 - Sylvaol’s rise to power through maritime trade suggests they have found a way to bypass the ‘gamble’ that defeated the Canaria Kingdom’s ancestors.

 - Gustav being used as a messenger indicates the shifting power dynamics between Wielope’s dark side and Carley’s whims

 —

 Character Insight:

The dynamic between Kento and the female leaders is becoming more informal and demanding; Rose and the Queen explicitly call him out for ‘neglecting’ them, showing they value his presence beyond mere business or politics.

 —

 Lore And Worldbuilding Context:

The Southern Continent is established as a place of origin but also a source of fear. The lack of a major port in Canaria is a deliberate historical choice based on survival rather than lack of resources.

 —

 TL Notes:

Loire-Rose’s ‘chi’ suffix is kept to maintain her gyaru-esque speech pattern, which establishes her as a distinctively informal character compared to the Queen.

 Glossary:

1 A long-lived race often holding significant magical and political power in this world.

Notes:

• Carley – Ancient elf Captain of the Wielope Empire, known as Haha‑sama, sports youthful elven beauty with long autumn‑leaf green hair and a flat‑chested soft form. She’s a blunt, pragmatic matriarch to assassins and royalty (e.g., Emperor Dee‑bou, Gustav), grants Forest Blessings, influences church‑state talks, and remains chill even under magic or tentacle restraints.

• Kento – Lord Harvest, a dark‑haired Japanese salaryman resembling Kazuma Satō, runs a magic‑tool shop with a hidden adult‑circuit line. He wears a left‑ring finger band, boasts a 7‑for‑7 impregnation record, and lives in the Dildo‑Buddy Mansion. Confined in a basement with Amelia, he balances a harem, ties to the Queen, and a recent Great Dragon victory.

• Loire-Rose – Current Saintess and top of the Great Cathedral food chain. White hair, pale skin, blue eyes—the full divine aesthetic. Can literally manifest light and blessings, but don’t let the holy glow fool you. She’s pragmatic, money‑minded, and way too playful for church politics. Runs a workshop (yeah, even sells adult goods on the side) and keeps her “holy” mask on… most of the time. Originally born to a Salvation Faction family, later adopted by the previous Holy Figure. Total mix of divinity and chaos, and somehow it works.

• Ray – A Viscount with flaxen-gold hair in a men’s wolf cut. Possesses a sweet mask and a prince-like aura. It is revealed at the end that Ray is actually a woman. She has started manufacturing and selling adult goods similar to Kento’s products in the Royal Capital’s pleasure district.

• Gustav – Leader of the Wielope Empire’s elite ‘Shadow’ assassin crew—captured in royal dungeon & victory parade hit, now snagged by shop defenses. Die-hard Emperor loyalist, shakes at the thought of Carley getting hurt from political fallout.
