The start of the battle was a quiet affair.
As we stepped onto the Boss Floor, the humanoid robot-like Monster that had been enshrined in the center of the room slowly rose to its feet.
We stopped in our tracks before the mechanical monster, but Sakurako-san continued forward, walking alone.
The moment she closed within ten meters of the machine—
”They both vanished!? No, wait…”
I could only see it because my Perception Enhancement¹ (Pressure Point²) was currently running at double strength.
In the center of the floor, Sakurako-san and the Robot Boss were weaving around each other at speeds that defied the naked eye.
The robot seemed to possess martial arts programming, unleashing a barrage of sharp kicks and thrusts at Sakurako-san.
Sakurako-san appeared to see right through those invisible strikes, parrying them with her katana so fluidly that the attacks simply slid off her blade.
”Amazing… I can’t believe they can fight at that speed,” I said.
”Yes,” Mana replied. “Even we could likely endure for a time, but maintaining the focus to parry attacks of that velocity indefinitely would be nearly impossible.”
”No kidding,” Minami added. “I think I could keep up with the speed, but the sheer power behind those hits would probably crush me.”
”I might be able to tank the hits with my defense, but landing a counterattack? Not a chance,” Maria sighed.
”I’m probably somewhere between Minami and Maria,” another of the girls chimed in. “Regardless, trying to solo that thing is pure recklessness.”
”If that’s how you all feel individually… does that mean we’d have a shot if we fought as a team?” I asked.
”Most likely,” Mana mused. “However, Boss Monsters usually have a phase change where they get stronger. Everything depends on what happens then.”
From my perspective, it felt like an opponent I could never hope to match, yet my companions spoke as if victory was well within their reach.
Once again, I realized my party members were just too reliable.
”Ah, Sakurako-san is making her move!” Mana called out.
As if on cue, Sakurako-san began her counteroffensive.
SHING… SHING…
The sharp ring of metal on metal echoed through the Boss Floor, and with every strike, fresh gouges appeared on the frame of the robot.
Sakurako-san’s attacks were definitely hitting home.
After the exchange continued for some time, the robot backed away from Sakurako-san and grew still.
Sakurako-san also stopped, her figure coming back into focus, showing no signs of fatigue.
”Oh, here comes the transformation,” Maria said.
The robot began to expand.
(Usually, in these kinds of stories, a boss getting bigger just makes them a slower, easier target, but…)
”It’s only gotten larger; its speed hasn’t dropped at all,” Mana observed. “Increased size with the same speed just means its reach is longer. This is going to be a pain.”
”Yeah… but Sakurako-san still looks like she’s got plenty of breathing room, right?” I asked.
”Yes, she’s parrying with total composure,” Mana replied. “In fact, the previous Sakurako-san was likely able to overwhelm this version without much trouble as well.”
”This version? You mean there’s more?”
”Most likely, yes,” Mana said.
Mana’s intuition was dead on. After Sakurako-san dominated the fight for a while longer, the robot entered another transformation.
It was enveloped in a searing, brilliant light, and when the glow faded, the robot stood there, now slightly smaller than its original size.
”In manga, these are always the strongest types,” Minami muttered.
”They are,” the girls agreed. “I hope Sakurako-san is okay.”
Before our eyes, the robot’s silhouette flickered and vanished completely.
This time, its movements were in a different league entirely.
Even with my Perception Enhancement doubled, I couldn’t track its trajectory.
”I can’t see them at all… Is Sakurako-san still winning?” I asked.
I only knew the answer because, occasionally, the robot would be sent flying across the floor, crashing into the ground, while Sakurako-san never broke her rhythm.
In a high-speed struggle invisible to the human eye, Sakurako-san was clearly dominating.
Eventually, the robot, having been pummeled relentlessly, began to slow down.
”It looks like this is it. Sakurako-san has the win,” Mana stated.
”Is it possible it has one more transformation left?” I asked.
”No, if it did, it would have shifted by now,” Mana said. “The damage it’s taking is on a different order of magnitude compared to before. Oh, look—Sakurako-san is using a skill. This is the finisher.”
Just as Mana said, Sakurako-san activated an ability.
Over a hundred clones of Sakurako-san appeared simultaneously, swarming the robot from every conceivable angle.
”Incredible… there are Sakurako-sans everywhere,” I said.
”Yes, truly,” Mana replied.
When the images merged back into a single woman, all that remained was the battered, broken wreckage of the robot.
”So, we won… right?” I asked.
”Yeah… wait, hang on! Why isn’t the wreckage turning into smoke?” Minami shouted.
”Now that you mention it… Ah!” Mana gasped.
The shattered fragments of the robot began to emit a terrifying radiance.
”No way…”
”A final self-destruct?” Maria asked.
Sakurako-san rushed toward the machine in a panic, but looking at the intensity of that light, there was no way she would make it in time.
(Normally, a blast of that scale would have dealt massive damage to the entire party, but…)
”Dungeon Energy Mastery³⁴!!” Mana yelled.
We had Mana and her Cheat Job on our side.
Explosions, magic, or any other phenomenon triggered by a monster is fueled by Dungeon Energy.
Mana reached out and interfered with that energy directly, causing the searing light to bleed away until the robot’s core flickered out.
Once the light had completely died, the body of the robot finally dissolved into mist and vanished.

She administers a hyper‑advanced dungeon, leading and guiding its members, and is known as the Dungeon Master, wielding authority that shifts with each dungeon phase, her beaming smile a constant hallmark.
• Master – An artificially‑created, androgynous‑beautied woman, once an S‑Class Dungeon Explorer, now serves as the Master of the hyper‑advanced dungeon, guiding and administering it for locals; her origins lie in a world destroyed by a deity.
