Chapter 143 Investigation
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
In broad daylight, under the watching eyes of the world, the sheer audacity of his opponent took Himejima Aki somewhat by surprise.
It seemed that after being suppressed for so long, the “Yellow-haired Punk” had actually managed to level up.
His personal strength was still an afterthought, but his Household¹ background had clearly seen a significant upgrade.
Still, whether it was raw power or political influence, Aki’s growth was on a level that utterly crushed any Bitter Parent Template.
The boy’s grand designs never stood a chance of becoming reality.
The men in black suits were formidable compared to the average person, but against a Transcendent², they were nothing more than cannon fodder.
Takamine mother didn’t even need to lift a finger.
The Takamine Sisters, who had already decided the group was an eyesore, flared with a faint, crimson light as a few simple Reinforcement Magic³ spells took hold.
Their tall, voluptuous figures blurred into mere afterimages.
A series of muffled groans followed, and before the thugs could even process what was happening, they were doubled over on the pavement, clutching their stomachs and howling in agony.
A few of the less fortunate ones had simply blacked out.
The supernatural display sent a jolt of terror through the blond youth and the two provocatively dressed girls at his side.
The Takamine Sisters stood over the fallen guards, fists clenched, staring at the punk for a long moment before clicking their tongues in disappointment and retreating to Aki’s side.
He was too pathetic; they were genuinely afraid that a single punch would end his life right then and there.
Though they were now Transcendents with several missions under their belts, taking a life was still a hurdle for teenage girls.
They hadn’t been victimized by the punk yet, and unlike Aki—who had lived two lives and been hardened by the relentless beatings of society—they still held onto a shred of hesitation.
Aki ignored the groaning heaps of muscle on the ground.
Instead, he chuckled, pulling a Takamine sister into each arm and letting his hands wander shamelessly over their curves.
He was mirroring the punk’s earlier entrance, but the Takamine Sisters were infinitely more beautiful than the other girls, and their bodies were far more provocative.
”Ming-kun, don’t think I’m trying to steal your women,” Aki said with a grin.
”As you can see, I’m just a victim of circumstance. I can’t exactly resist them, can I?”
The punk’s face went through a spectrum of frustrated colors at Aki’s blatant mockery.
He stared intensely at the three women of the Takamine family, his gaze lingering on the sisters who had just showcased such terrifying power.
”You’ve only mastered–“
He bit back the rest of his sentence, his expression darkening as he spun around and climbed back into his car.
He didn’t just leave his guards behind; he abandoned the two trembling, flushed girls without a second thought.
The luxury car tore away, leaving a cloud of exhaust and a complete mess in its wake.
Aki sighed as he looked at the abandoned girls.
”You two have a way to contact your group, right? Call someone to come haul these idiots away.”
”W-we do… but we don’t have our phones…” they stammered, flinching as they glanced at the sisters.
Aki looked at their outfits—or lack thereof.
There wasn’t enough fabric on them to hide a postage stamp, let alone a smartphone.
As for tucking a phone between their breasts… well, they weren’t quite well-endowed enough to make that work.
He clicked his tongue and reluctantly handed them his own phone.
He had no love for these SP bodyguards, but he wasn’t interested in making them suffer further.
He knew how the world worked: every debt has an owner.
Judging by the punk’s behavior, he was probably hoping Aki would do something extreme just so he could use it as a pretext for a larger conflict.
As for the girls, whether they were there by force or bought by greed, Aki didn’t care.
A dark, twisted thought flickered through his mind—how would the punk react if Aki claimed them right here, in front of everyone?
The thought vanished as quickly as it came.
They were just the punk’s discarded toys, and Aki had zero interest in second-hand goods.
Now, if the punk actually valued them… that would be a different story.
Then, he might have actually planned something—fucking them into submission until they belonged solely to him, just to see the look on the boy’s face.
* * *
Half an hour later, a fresh team of identical SPs arrived.
The leader gave Aki a curt nod before his men loaded the unconscious thugs into the cars and drove off.
They didn’t even look at the two girls.
Seeing the pair standing there, heads bowed in tearful shame, Aki felt a slight headache coming on.
They really were just disposable toys; they didn’t have a shred of status or dignity.
He sighed and had the Takamine Sisters give them some spare clothes and ten thousand yen for the trip home.
He couldn’t let them wander off looking like that.
If they walked out onto the street, they wouldn’t make it past the next block before someone dragged them into an alley for something far worse.
”Thank you… thank you so much,” they sobbed, bowing a full ninety degrees.
”Your help is something we sisters will keep in our hearts.”
Aki waved them off, signaling for them to leave quickly.
When it came to girls, his heart was always a bit soft.
Unless they were confirmed enemies, he would help if it wasn’t a hassle.
Aki wasn’t sure if that was a weakness or a strength, but he did what he felt like doing.
With the distractions gone, Aki moved to the next phase of his plan.
The punk’s parting words had bothered him.
Even though the boy had cut himself off, Aki could guess what he’d meant.
Combined with the girls’ lack of surprise at the Reinforcement Magic, it was almost certain the punk’s backing included Transcendents.
To be safe, Aki left the three women of the Takamine family at home while he went alone to investigate the forces behind the opponent.
The sooner it was resolved, the sooner he could be at ease.
Without knowing the opponent’s strength, staying at home was the safest choice.
If anything happened, Aki could return at any time through a transportation Magic Circle⁴.
His investigation consisted of a visit to Himejima Akeno.
If there were Transcendents involved, Rias Gremory would have a file on them.
If not, they were just Stray Devil⁵s hiding in the city.
In that case, things would be even simpler.
Harboring a Stray Devil meant collective responsibility; when Aki moved his hands, he wouldn’t even need to find a reason.
Unfortunately, the opponent actually had a record.
Once Aki showed her the emblem and mentioned the father’s company, the relevant files appeared quickly.
”Miura Corporation. Company President Miura Kazuya…”
”Akeno-senpai, cut to the chase. What kind of muscle are we talking about? Any A-rank⁶s?”
Himejima Akeno gently flipped through the documents in her hand, the exaggerated waves of her bust swaying with the movement.
”Yes. He employs five Transcendents. One A-rank, four B-ranks.”
Aki rubbed his chin.
He didn’t expect there to actually be an A-rank.
It was a good thing he’d played it safe.
The girls could handle B-rank enemies through teamwork or attrition.
But if an A-rank powerhouse made a move and Aki couldn’t provide support, the result would be catastrophic.
For now, the enemy only seemed interested in the Takamine family; they didn’t know about his other girls yet.
”Also, the Mitakai Yakuza syndicate has a partnership with them.”
Before closing the file, Himejima Akeno added one more thing.
”Aki-chan, did you pick a fight with Miura Kazuya?”
Aki shrugged.
”Not the old man. His son. Since the guy came to my door, I have to give him some.”
”Just try to keep the commotion under control so those people don’t come around complaining again.”
After saying that, Himejima Akeno stopped paying attention to the matter.
With Aki’s S-rank⁷ strength, the opponent didn’t even count as a threat.
As for the Mitakai, in the eyes of the Gremory family, a mere Yakuza group wasn’t even worth considering, even if they had supernatural backing.
They wouldn’t have anything higher than an A-rank, or they wouldn’t be working with a human corporation as equals.
”Akeno-senpai… if they move first, it’s fine if I just kill them all, right?”
A surge of lethal intent rose in Aki.
The Yellow-haired Punk wasn’t just a fallen protagonist; looking at his performance, there was definitely someone supporting him from the shadows.
Whether it was his father or his supernatural hirelings, the simplest solution was to erase them all.
”If that’s what you want… it’ll be a bit of a pain, but Buchou and I can still handle it for you.”
Himejima Akeno spread her hands.
This junior was usually so mild-mannered, despite being a Combat-Oriented Type.
He didn’t seem like a battle maniac at all.
However, regarding certain matters, he was extremely stubborn, and his style would become exceptionally decisive and ruthless.
And that… she liked very much.
The Queen who lived to mistreat and train her enemies felt a flush rise to her face, and she instinctively licked her sexy red lips.
