Volume 11 Chapter 6 All Talk, No Action

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”I’ll hold them off! Hah!”

 ”Spirit-san, please!”

 ”These guys are really annoying…”

Today, I am in the Dungeon with Ines and the others, the former Gale Party.

We are currently fighting a mixed army of Orcs and Rock Lizards.

They are fighting without any danger, and it is peaceful to watch.

Since our weekly dates have stopped, I am actively trying to have opportunities like this.

They spent the morning earning experience points with the First Blood party, but they said they wanted to explore on their own in the afternoon.

Since the number of people has increased, and their personalities seem compatible, they seem to be doing well.

Ines and the others usually dive into the Twelfth Floor as the “hotwind” party with Meta and Vanessa added, but today, Meta and Vanessa are absent due to other business.

Therefore, I tagged along when they were originally going to explore as a trio.

I am here for guidance, or backup, or rather, a monitor in case of emergency.

Honestly, I have nothing to do and am bored.

 ”Good work.”

 ”Ah, thank you.”

I call out to everyone as they finish the battle.

Ines has a sharp atmosphere today.

She does not neglect to watch the surroundings, and her work—both in attack and defense—is worthy of being called a mid-tier Adventurer.

When she is at home, she often acts spoiled and her clumsiness stands out, but she is originally an excellent Adventurer.

”Good work to you too, Sylvie.”

 ”Yes♪”

Sylvie is the same as always.

She is smiling both at home and outside, and she is very pleasant.

I think it is amazing, but I cannot imitate it.

She gets a sharp look on her face during battle, but is it because she is an Elf or because she is small that even that looks cute?

She has such a youthful appearance, after all.

”Juliet, aren’t you tired from running around?”

”Something like this is no problem. …Thank you.”

Juliet is red and embarrassed, which is cute.

Perhaps due to the influence of having many types of lovers, she has started to say thank you honestly.

She is still not used to it and is ashamed, so I must overlook the fact that a snide remark is about to slip out.

”Shall we take a break soon?”

”That’s right, there don’t seem to be any monsters nearby, and the Safe Zone is close anyway.”

 ”I’ve gotten a little hungry too♪”

Monsters are replenished from out of nowhere, but they can be reduced to a certain extent.

If we do that, efficiency drops, so it is normal to take breaks moderately.

We move to the Safe Zone for snack time.

”The sweets Daisuke-san made are delicious~♪”

”Indeed. It feels like a luxury to be able to eat this inside the Dungeon.”

”That’s true. I envy those who have an Item Box.”

We sit on a spread-out sheet and enjoy the special sweets together.

I can only bring out things that can be eaten with one hand, but they look satisfied, which is all that matters.

”Daisuke, you look bored, don’t you?”

”Eh? Because if I lend a hand, I get scolded for being overprotective…”

”You are doing too much. Can’t you hold back a little?”

”I can, but… I don’t want my lovers to get hurt.”

 ”Haa…”

Juliet was exasperated, but I cannot help it because I cannot endure it.

If I scout, I perceive the placement of surrounding monsters thoroughly and constantly launch preemptive attacks.

If I tank, I gather all the hate alone and the three are free to attack.

When I acted as a healer and buffer, I was scolded for buffing too much.

I also understand that being overprotective is not for their sake.

Therefore, I have decided not to lend a hand from the beginning and only to intervene when it is truly dangerous.

”Well, isn’t it fine? The scenery is a little different, but it’s like that picnic from before, right?♪”

 ”Ah, yeah, that’s right.”

”…Well, I suppose. Though the tension seems like it might disappear.”

About half a year ago, around spring, I went on a date with the three outside the Royal Capital.

Back then, they weren’t my lovers yet, and it was a date as a reward for saving them, so I was reserved.

 Now, it feels nostalgic.

The laws inside the Dungeon are completely different from the outside, so even if it is raining outside, it is sunny inside.

Although, since there is little rain in this area, it is not a change that concerns me much.

It seems there are Dungeons somewhere in the world that are always raining or have lightning, and furthermore, there are even fields that are always poisonous swamps.

It feels like they don’t want people to clear them.

”Daisuke-san, is it okay if I go over there?”

 ”Hm? Sure.”

 ”Excuse me then♪”

Sylvie, who is quite proactive, sat on my lap.

Sylvie, who is a Sorceress-type, wears a robe and carries a staff, so her equipment doesn’t get in the way and she can sit on my lap just like that.

I stroke her silky hair to initiate physical contact.

”Hey, Sylvie, we are still inside the Dungeon.”

”It’s fine, we are in a Safe Zone, and Daisuke-san is here, after all♪”

”My lap is difficult, but I will also have you do something ‘in order’.”

Ines is heavily equipped with metal armor and a two-handed sword, so it is a bit difficult for her to sit on my lap.

She can do it, but because it is rugged, we cannot enjoy physical contact with each other.

 ”Juliet, what will you do?”

”…I’m fine. If someone doesn’t keep a serious watch, we won’t be safe.”

While saying that, she is glancing at Sylvie, so she probably actually wants to do it too.

If I point it out, she will get sulky, so I will pet her plenty later when we go home.

Though, petting doesn’t necessarily mean just the head!

”You seem to be thinking of something strange.”

 (That is not true.)

 ”Suspicious…”

Since I was stared at by Juliet with passionate (cold) eyes, I brush it off with a refreshing smile.

Sylvie is in a good mood being petted on my lap, and Ines is also in a good mood sitting next to me.

By the way, Juliet wears light armor that is leather-based and reinforced with metal at vital points.

Her thighs are completely exposed, so I can enjoy that as is.

* * *

While we were exploring while taking moderate breaks like that, on the way to our next break, other Adventurers were arguing.

”We were the ones who defeated it, so this belongs to us.”

”We were the ones doing it first, and you took it from the side, so it belongs to us, right?”

”We didn’t do such a thing. This Orc just came here on its own.”

”That’s what you call a ‘snatch.’ Everyone knows that if an Orc sees a woman, it goes toward them, so you did it on purpose.”

”That’s wrong. We just happened to pass by.”

”Can you prove that it was a coincidence?”

”That’s impossible. In the first place, it’s the fault of you guys who couldn’t finish off a slow Orc.”

 ”We were fighting other monsters.”

”You just let it escape, didn’t you? At that point, it wasn’t your prey.”

One party consisted of men around their thirties, and the other consisted of women in their early twenties.

They seem to be fighting over the ownership of the Orc they defeated.

Certainly, stealing kills is a violation of etiquette, but if it is a monster that escaped (or was let go), it is not something to be blamed for.

If you know the nature of an Orc, it is possible to snatch it disguised as an accident, but proving whether it was intentional is difficult.

As it stands, there is insufficient evidence.

(If it becomes a serious dispute, it is a matter for an Inquisitor to judge, but usually, people do not make such a big deal out of this level of occurrence. Of course, I know the female Adventurers are lying, but even if I said so, they wouldn’t believe me. The female Adventurers are definitely trash, but this is a level I see from time to time. The sharp corner of their eyes reminds me of someone, but who was it?)

”You guys… getting cocky just because I was acting modest…”

”Aniki, we can’t end this just by being looked down on by these flashy people!”

”Ah… I know. I have to teach these juniors the severity of the Dungeon. I am undefeated in my hometown, you will regret this.”

”Violence when things don’t go your way? You country bumpkins.”

”Fine by me, old man. I’ll beat you back.”

Neither can back down, and an atmosphere of impending combat floats in the air.

As usual, there are quite a few bloodthirsty people among Adventurers.

Compared to them, my lovers are quite tame.

”Daisuke, wouldn’t it be better to mediate?”

 ”Is that so?”

”Aside from the rights and wrongs of each other’s claims, I think it is a problem that can be solved by discussion.”

”I wonder… at that rate, won’t it turn into a duel?”

”If it’s a duel, it’s fine, but I think it will be a private fight without an Oath. If it’s like that, it will probably be until the other party is dead.”

If it is a duel, of course, even in a private fight, if both are in a battle stance, even if they kill the other party, they will not be given “evil-type” Titles.

If you kill someone who is not a criminal in a private fight, you will be charged with a crime.

”There is no need to let them commit a crime right in front of us.”

 ”Daisuke-san, is it not okay?”

 ”I don’t really care either way, but…”

”Umm, fine, I can’t help it, I’ll do something. It seems it is better for the three of you not to say anything.”

Juliet doesn’t have much interest, but Ines and Sylvie have a stance that we should mediate.

I am not really in the mood for it, but if it is a request from my cute lovers, I will do my best.

I don’t want the hate directed at me, so I will have the three of them remain silent.

”Can I have a moment? Shall we both calm down?”

”Huh? Who the hell are you?”

”Are you looking to join in, too?”

”I thought I would mediate since it looks like you are arguing.”

 ”Unsolicited kindness.”

 ”We didn’t call for you.”

”The argument is about the ownership of the Orc, right? Can’t the two parties hunt one together and each take one?”

 ”Hm…”

 ”Well, if it’s that…”

They know that they are not one hundred percent correct, so the effect of the persuasion Skills is not bad.

However, it is not that the other party is convinced because they are right; I don’t like it very much because they are persuaded by the effect of the Skills.

”Tch… well fine, we can settle for that this time.”

”There is no mistake that it is our prey, but fighting to the death becomes troublesome, so we will do that.”

”Then I will go pull one over, so prepare and wait.”

* * *

Of course, the carry went off without a problem, and the Orc was beaten to a pulp by the two parties and quickly defeated.

As expected, it might be unnatural if I were alone, so I acted with Juliet.

Ines and Sylvie were monitoring the two parties.

 ”Sorry about that, Daisuke.”

 ”It wasn’t bad.”

 ”Thank you very much, Daisuke-san♪”

”Whoops, we aren’t in a Safe Zone here, are we?”

 ”It’s okay with Daisuke-san, isn’t it?”

 ”Well, I guess.”

”I am next in line too.”

 ”……”

While I was playing with the three of them like that, the man who looked like the party leader of the all-male party came over.

”Fighting with them wasn’t a loss, but there might have been some damage to my equipment, so it wasn’t bad. I’ll give you a piece of advice as a Senpai.”

 ”Hm? Well, let’s hear it.”

”You, despite being a young person, are bringing women to the Dungeon—you’re underestimating it. You’ll die if you get flirtatious in places where monsters appear.”

 ”……”

”We are aiming for B-Rank, so then we will find a Rejuvenation Potion and make a fortune. Well, if you stop hiding behind the women there and do it on your own, you might become big like me someday, right? Well, do your best.”

 ”……Ah, yeah, sure.”

The nameless man in his thirties, an Adventurer, said what he wanted to say and left.

 I am truly not interested.

Besides, I am already B-Rank, so his advice is off-target.

”He was a strange person, wasn’t he?”

”That’s right. Giving advice from a position of superiority without knowing anything about the other party—wouldn’t he fail the B-Rank promotion interview?”

”I don’t care, there’s no need to deal with someone like that.”

 ===

Meta Tsedes: “You rummaged through your luggage, what happened?”

Narrator: “I am preparing to punish the rude person. Even if the opponent is a vanguard, there are plenty of ways to do it. Hehehe…”

Meta Tsedes: “As expected of a zealot, how scary… But honestly speaking, this male Adventurer is just an average level, right?”

Narrator: “…Unfortunately, that is true. Because you don’t need connections or money to become an Adventurer, it is unavoidable that there is a certain number of such fools.”

Meta Tsedes: “Daisuke-san doesn’t care either, does he.”

Narrator: “However, the misguided advice toward Daisuke-sama is laughable. They must not know what ‘preaching to the choir’ means.”

Meta Tsedes: “There is no Buddhism in this world, you know?”

 Narrator: “Of course I know.”

Meta Tsedes: “Yeah… why did you bring up that proverb…”

Narrator: “It’s reader-friendly. A work exists because of its readers.”

Meta Tsedes: “Such a sudden sound argument!”

Notes:

• Ines – Ines is an 18-year-old, 170cm human D-Rank Magic Swordsman, the dignified, motherly leader of the Gale party. She has long emerald hair, blue eyes, a sturdy build, and a highly voluptuous frame with very large breasts. Clad in college-style metal armor, this capable Wind Magic specialist wields a two-handed sword. Daisuke’s first lover, she acts spoiled at home to hide her loneliness.

• Vanessa – A 21-year-old human Magic Bludgeoneer and member of the Hotwind party, this confident 170cm veteran has a massive, muscular build, large breasts, thick thighs, and a red ponytail. Wielding a fire mace in revealing gear, she serves as the party’s vanguard and sixth Lover. Saved by Daisuke, they share a playful bond. She mentors Nicola, aligns with Sylvie, handles domestic disputes groundedly, and slays Twelfth Floor Wyverns. Currently absent due to other business.

• Meta – A 160cm, plump, 25-year-old blonde priestess, former duchess, and divorced knight, she is Daisuke’s fourth lover, party mediator, and an absent member of the Hotwind party. Wearing high-waisted robes and a pink aura, she is devoted to him but cold to other men. Socially isolated by her “Apostasy” titles, she serves an orphanage and joins the Narrator in meta-commentary on the narrative.

• Sylvie – A 140cm elven spirit mage with long, wavy blonde hair and blue eyes, she pairs a tiny, loli-like appearance with an adult build, robes, and a staff. This always-smiling Heatwind adventurer wields Water/Wind. Bright, curious, and insightful, she is Camilla’s older sister and Daisuke’s magic teacher, confidante, and forward, pampering lover who masks loneliness with affectionate, playful charm.

• Juliet – Juliet is an 18-year-old, 150cm cat-beastwoman with blue bobbed hair, a sharp-eyed, grumpy look, and a large-breasted build with faint abs. Wearing thigh-exposing light leather and metal armor, this Gale Party instructor wields a greatsword and the Idaten skill. A tsundere who uses spiteful language to mask embarrassment, she is privately a spoiled, cuddle-loving third Lover to Daisuke.

• Daisuke – Daisuke, a lean, 170cm Japanese reincarnate with tousled dark hair and amber eyes, is a cynical, analytical B-Rank solo adventurer exploring a dungeon. Relying on modern knowledge, wind/healing magic, a spear, a hidden 3,500 base score, scouting/tanking skills, and an Item Box, he hunts monsters. Rejecting subservience for equal partnerships, he chaperones, monitors, and protects his multi-member harem of lovers.

• Meta Tsedes – A statuesque knight with raven hair, amber eyes, and polished armor, she serves as a dramatic commentator who analyzes and reacts to events involving Daisuke-sama. Her voice is honeyed yet venomous. Driven by an unshakable, highly flexible loyalty to the Order’s code, she frequently prompts conversations and questions the actions of others, filtering narrative events through her sharp perspective.

• Tsedes – The second half of the meta-commentary name structure tied with Meta, interacting directly with the Narrator regarding the dark tone of the chapter.
