Chapter 256 Chashu
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Day 118, Morning
14th Stratum – Inner Perimeter Deep Zone – Sanada Yakumo
”That building over there looks accessible. Let’s head inside,” I said.
We had slipped from the main thoroughfare into a back alley, where we successfully wiped out a pursuing mob of about eighteen Orcs. Advancing a bit further, Saizou inspected the entrance of a building up ahead and nodded back at us, so I called out to the group that we could take shelter inside.
”I really hope there’s a silver chest in this one,” Leticia murmured.
”Right now, the spawn rate for silver chests is around thirty percent, so our odds should be going up,” Sanae added.
”The outer perimeter was ten percent, and it bumped to thirty just before the Inner Perimeter,” I noted. “Now that Orc Wizards are mixed into the spawns, I’m hoping the probability has climbed to around fifty percent.”
”True,” Sheena agreed with Leticia and Sanae’s speculation. “Given how things have scaled, it’s highly possible the odds have reached that level.”
Everyone was eager to spin the Silver Gacha1, hoping to land a gold capsule and cross the finish line. While the Silver Gacha was undoubtedly lucrative, I personally wanted to get my hands on an Entry Permit as soon as possible just to give myself some peace of mind.
Chatting about our prospects, we reached the front of the building. Saizou and Lucy stepped up to open the door and scout ahead, just as they always did—but right at that moment, the atmosphere shifted. Four distinct mana signatures abruptly materialized inside the structure.
”Wait—! Saizou! Lucy! Fall back!” I roared.
Yip! Whine! My warning left my throat a second too late as a fist-sized stone tore through the gap in the opening wooden door and slammed into Saizou and Lucy hard enough to hurl them backward.
”Lucy!” Karen cried out.
Saizou luckily caught the blow at a good angle, so he only staggered and was already pushing himself back to his feet. Lucy, however, took the impact straight on. She lay on the ground, whimpering and clutching her chest. Karen immediately blinked forward to rush to her side, but I grabbed Karen by the arm and stopped her momentum. Through the crack in the door, I spotted an Orc Wizard looking down at the fallen Lucy with an ugly, mocking sneer. I aimed my fingers and unleashed a spell.
”Fire Bullet!” I shouted.
The blazing projectile shot from my fingertips, striking the Orc Wizard directly in the forehead. It pierced straight through the skull and incinerated its brain instantly. The creature collapsed forward like a puppet with its strings severed.
”Leticia!” I called out.
”On it!” Leticia responded.
I released my grip on Karen and sent Leticia rushing over to tend to Lucy’s injuries.
”Hanako, charge in! Karen! There are still three more inside. You know what to do! Leave Lucy to Leticia and wipe them out!” I commanded.
”Oinkkk!” Hanako squealed.
”Understood! How dare they hurt Lucy! I won’t forgive them!” Karen yelled.
At my command, Hanako raised her greatshields and spearheaded the assault into the building. An enraged Karen followed closely behind with her magic gun raised and ready. Saizou, now fully back on his feet, charged in right after them. Moments later, the sharp cracks of the magic gun and the guttural shrieks of dying Orcs echoed from within.
I waited until the mana signatures of the monsters completely vanished from my perception before leading the rest of the group inside. Leticia and a freshly healed Lucy followed close behind, along with Sayaka and the others.
”Short spears, huh…” I muttered.
Looking down at the dead Orcs littering the floor, I noticed they carried short spears instead of the usual falchions. Two of them had clean holes burnt through their foreheads, while the third bore a deep slash across its throat with the surrounding skin already turning a bruised purple. Saizou had clearly claimed that last one.
”So, these variants are specifically equipped for close-quarters indoor combat,” Sheena murmured, analyzing the corpses.
”Looks like it. Sending Karen in first was definitely the right call,” I replied.
Three Orcs waiting in ambush inside a relatively cramped first-floor layout with short spears… Let’s just dub them Orc Lancers for now. If I had been the one to blindly charge through that door, things might have gotten genuinely dicey. More importantly, there hadn’t been a single trace of a mana signature until the door was actually opened. Did that mean opening the door triggered a summoning trap?
(Tch. If that was the case, we wouldn’t be able to blindly duck into unexplored buildings to escape danger during active combat anymore.)
”Saizou, just to be safe, go have Leticia cast a heal on you,” I instructed.
”At once, master. Your command shall be executed,” Saizou answered formally.
”Don’t look so down. Nobody could have predicted a monster trap would trigger that instantly the moment the door cracked open. Fortunately, both you and Lucy only sustained minor injuries. You took the brunt of the trap and exposed its existence to us, and I’m grateful for that. I’m counting on you for the next one, too,” I said to encourage him.
”Most assuredly, sir. I shall not fail your expectations again,” Saizou replied respectfully.
Encouraged, Saizou seemed to shake off his guilt over Lucy getting hurt. He nodded firmly with his focus restored and walked over to Leticia. Leticia, having finished treating Lucy, immediately cast a Heal spell on Saizou.
Bark! Bark!
Rejuvenated by the magic, Lucy bounced over and began repeatedly patting Saizou on the head with her paws. Despite taking the brunt of the attack herself, she seemed to be telling Saizou not to beat himself up over it. She truly was Karen’s familiar; her outlook on life was absurdly positive.
Saizou seemed to share my exact sentiment. He stared blankly at Lucy with half-lidded eyes as she kept batting at his head. Eventually, he let out a soft sigh of resignation and led her toward the stairs leading to the second floor.
”Hehe, Saizou-san really does take after his master, doesn’t he?” Sayaka giggled.
”If you mean in terms of constantly dealing with headaches, then yeah, absolutely,” I answered.
”Lucy clearly isn’t reflecting on her lack of caution enough,” Sheena remarked, crossing her arms. “I suppose I will have to make her training regimen a bit more rigorous.”
”…Yeah, go for it,” I agreed.
While Lucy’s rapid mental recovery was definitely a trait inherited from Karen, her complete inability to reflect on her own blunders felt like something she’d picked up from Sheena.
Woof!
Feli trotted over, holding the magic stones she had gathered. I took them from her and gave her head a gentle pat. Feeling comforted by Feli, who wagged her tail furiously with delight, I led the rest of the party up to the second floor.
Saizou and Lucy were waiting for us right outside the upstairs room. I signaled Hanako to position herself in front of the door and open it.
”No traps this time, it seems,” I noted.
”So it appears, master,” Saizou reported.
After verifying the room was safe, Saizou and Lucy slipped inside to scout the perimeter. They returned almost immediately, shaking their heads. It looked like there were no chests hidden in this particular room.
We continued our search through two more rooms. Finally, by the window at the back of the third room, we spotted a silver chest resting quietly.
”It’s silver!” Leticia cheered.
”Do you think it spawned because of the trap downstairs?” Sanae wondered.
”Hard to say,” I replied with a shrug.
This was only the first building we’d explored in the deeper section of the Inner Perimeter, so it was too early to draw conclusions. Following our standard protocol, the rest of us evacuated the room, leaving only Hanako, Lucy, and Saizou inside.
Copper chests usually contained physical hazards like poison darts, but silver chests carried a notoriously high probability of being rigged with scroll-based magic traps. On rare occasions, they might trigger a toxic mist, but the vast majority were magical explosions. The reason I made everyone evacuate was a lesson learned from a previous encounter involving a Fireball scroll trap. Even though Hanako had blocked it with her shield back then, the sheer backdraft had nearly burned the rest of us standing behind her badly.
(I distinctly remembered muttering about how whoever decided to rig an indoor chest with explosive magic was an absolute psychopath.)
As these thoughts crossed my mind, Lucy finished her appraisal of the chest, turned toward the doorway, and shook her head.
”A magic trap… Lucy, Saizou, get over here. Hanako, it’s all you,” I ordered.
”Oink…” Hanako groaned.
Since it was a magical hazard, there was nothing Saizou or Lucy could do to disarm it safely. I gave Hanako the signal to open the chest. The profoundly miserable look on her face was undoubtedly because this wasn’t an attack coming from an attractive male foe2.
”Will Hanako be alright…?” Sanae asked anxiously.
”She’ll be fine,” Leticia reassured her. “If anything happens, I’ll patch her right up with High Heal.”
”I’d really prefer it if she didn’t get horribly mangled in the first place, though?!” Sanae cried.
”Look, Hanako’s making her move,” I said.
Cutting off Sanae’s fretting, I kept my eyes locked on the chest as Hanako cautiously reached out to open it. The moment the lid cracked open, Hanako instantly raised her greatshields and braced herself. Sure enough, the scroll affixed to the inner underside of the lid flared to life. Hanako hunkered down, completely prepared to weather whatever projectile came flying her way.
Yet, as if mocking her defensive posture, a torrent of roaring flames erupted violently from beneath her feet instead.
”Squeeek!” Hanako screamed in agony.
”Hanako!” Sanae screamed in horror.
”A Fire Wall?! Seriously?!!” I yelled.
Deploying that specific spell inside an enclosed room was completely unhinged. I took a step forward to rush to Hanako’s aid, but Saizou was faster. He darted past my flank, flicking his wrist to cast out a length of piano wire. The wire looped perfectly around Hanako’s neck, and Saizou gave it a powerful yank.
”Gaggh!” Hanako choked.
Though she choked and clawed at the wire tightening around her throat, the forced momentum successfully dragged her out of the roaring wall of fire. From a quick glance, her Black Iron armor looked intact, but the inner cloth covering her chest and her loincloth had been reduced to smoldering ash.
”Water Ball!” Sayaka chanted.
Sayaka immediately unleashed her water magic to douse the remaining embers cooking Hanako. Three spheres of water slammed directly into Hanako’s torso and groin, bursting instantly and drenching her body to extinguish the fire. Hanako’s face contorted from the blunt impact of the spells, but a few bruises were infinitely better than suffering third-degree burns.
”Hanako!” Sanae cried, rushing forward.
”Oink…” Hanako wheezed.
Sanae rushed over to the side of the homunculus, who had been roasted by fire, choked and dragged by piano wire, and finally battered by pressurized water spheres until she was rolling on the floor in a pathetic state. Hanako offered a frail, exhausted squeak to her worried master. Her posture looked remarkably like a dying soldier attempting to mutter their final words.
(Objectively speaking, her injuries weren’t actually fatal, but I couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for the absolute gauntlet of misfortune she had just endured.)
”High Heal!” Leticia chanted.
Leticia cast her high-tier recovery magic, bathing Hanako in a soothing light.
”Oink.” Hanako grunted.
Fully restored in a matter of seconds, Hanako sat up. She pulled the charred, ruined remnants of her undergarments out from beneath her armor, letting out a heavy, thoroughly exhausted sigh that made it clear she felt she had been treated terribly.
”I’m so sorry, Hanako-chan. That must have hurt, right? Let’s go out to the hallway and get you changed into some fresh clothes,” Sayaka offered gently.
”Oink-oink.” Hanako nodded.
Sayaka apologized for the rough handling, explaining that she had only used the water spheres to put out the fire. Hanako shook her head gently as if telling her not to worry about it. Gently supported by Sayaka and Sanae, Hanako stood up and let them lead her out of the room.
”Yikes~ That was one nasty trap~” Leticia sighed.
”Evading an attack like that might be entirely impossible,” Sanae noted.
”Yeah. The only countermeasure I can think of would be having Sayaka constantly prime a Water Wall of her own, ready to intercept the moment the lid lifts,” I suggested.
”I believe that would be best,” Sheena chimed in. “After all, I would prefer not to see Hanako turned into chashu. If that happened, I wouldn’t be able to look at pork for quite some time.”
”…Yeah, fair point,” I muttered.
(Personally, I felt like it would have ruined pork fried rice for me, too.)
”Whoa! Look, there are three silver coins in here!” Leticia cheered.
”Does this mean three or more coins is the baseline standard for chests deep within the Inner Perimeter?” Sanae asked, her eyes sparkling.
”I certainly hope so,” I said.
Finding Silver G-Coins in batches of three had been an incredibly rare luxury back in the shallow parts of the Inner Perimeter, so it was only natural for the girls to get their hopes up. Once Hanako finished changing and returned to the group, we took a brief recess to regroup.
With our short break concluded, we stepped back out into the streets to plunge right back into the grueling cycle of combat against the Orc hordes.
The encounter rate deep within the Inner Perimeter was punishingly high. It wasn’t uncommon for two separate groups of six Orcs to ambush us simultaneously, only for an additional two groups to join the fray mid-battle. Whenever we needed to recuperate, we would actively hunt for an accessible building. The moment we found one, I’d have Hanako and Rock breach the perimeter while Karen cleaned out the interior with her magic gun. Once the threshold was cleared, we would duck inside like refugees fleeing a storm.
Approximately half of these buildings contained silver chests. Thanks to that high spawn rate, we managed to accumulate six silver coins over the course of the morning alone. The trade-off, however, was that copper chests had stopped appearing entirely, and buildings we could actually enter were becoming increasingly scarce.
True to form, every single silver chest we encountered was rigged with a magic trap. In addition to another Fire Wall, we also fell victim to a Water Wall trap. The moment that one triggered, the sheer force of the pressurized geyser slammed Hanako straight into the ceiling before dropping her heavily onto the floor. It looked incredibly painful. Because she wore exceptionally heavy armor, the impact damage alone was severe. It was a stark lesson for me: inside a building, Water Wall functioned as an absolute tank-killer spell.
When the clock struck noon, we decided to take our midday break. I deployed the Magic Tent inside a relatively spacious room on the second floor of our current building, and we all sat down to enjoy a meal. After eating, I led Lunaria out of the tent. I pressed her against the room’s window so she leaned forward, then took her roughly from behind. From this vantage point, we were entirely visible to the female students currently staying back at the Training Facility. Naturally, I made sure to give them a perfectly clear view of my Drill-Dick as it worked its way inside her. I could only imagine how intensely Hoshino and the rest of my future s*x slaves would focus on their training after witnessing this.
After pumping a heavy load of s**men deep inside her from behind, I pulled out and shifted her into an ekiben carry, delivering a second round right into her womb. Having filled her with two full loads of c*m, I ordered Lunaria to perform a cleanup b**job. As she sucked me clean, she frequently leaned down to sniff the musk of my crotch, all while reaching a hand down between her own legs to m**urbate frantically. Watching her totally debased state filled me with a deep sense of satisfaction. Her training was progressing flawlessly.
With our lunch break officially over, we packed up our gear and ventured back out into the city streets.

Summary:
Moving past an ambush by an orc group, Yakumo guides his party into a freshly discovered building inside the deep zone. Confronting sudden proximity-based summoning circles and magical chest counters, the group struggles to absorb structural traps securely. The exploration shifts into an unmitigated mechanical trap marathon, leaving the permanent acquisition of high-value exit currency still highly contested.
—
Trivia:
Silver Gacha mechanisms require key vouchers tied directly to specific high-difficulty stratum zones.
Homunculus units like Hanako register distinct biological responses and preferences based on opposing genders.
Water Wall indoor trajectories transform basic defensive terrain elements into active kinetic damage weapons.
Training facility structural views enable real-time tactical observation for non-deployed auxiliary personnel.
