Dungeon-Succubus-Tester 255

Chapter 255 Envy and the Orc Wizard

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

… Tester Life, Day 117, Night. 1st Stratum, Teleportation Room. Sanada Yakumo …

”Ugh! This is seriously driving me crazy!”

”Hitting a 200-pull dry spell? That’s gotta be a bug. Surely the devs are trolling us.”

”Fair point. You’d think the pity system would’ve kicked in by now.”

After clearing the final sector before the Inner Perimeter, we trudged back to the 1st Stratum teleportation room. I was busy venting about my abysmal luck with the thirty Bronze Gacha pulls I’d just burned through.

I had not touched the Silver Gacha. I was still short on currency.

As for the Bronze Gacha, I had not seen a single gold capsule in two hundred pulls since the last one. Honestly, I did not even know it was possible to be this unlucky.

”That is precisely why you should have allowed me to handle the pulls.”

”Easy for you to say. You looked pretty relieved when you were the one pulling last time.”

”I was not. I was merely disappointed that I was not the one to secure the win, as I would have certainly succeeded.”

 ”Total lie!”

”Sheena… her ears were standing straight up. She was tense.”

”See? Even Lunaria says so! Admit it, you were nervous because you weren’t sure you could land it.”

”The Princess may possess a keen nose, but her eyes and intellect are severely lacking.”

 ”… You insolent wench.”

”Alright, alright. If you two keep loitering on the teleportation pad, you’re going to be a nuisance to the parties arriving behind us.”

Sayaka stepped in with a wry smile just as Lunaria reached for her blade.

Lunaria huffed, radiating pure annoyance, but dutifully withdrew her hand.

”Hey, Sheena, quit grinning at Lunaria like that. Don’t goad her.”

”Fufu, my apologies, Master. It’s simply that Her Highness’s reactions are so entertaining.”

”Well, I suppose it’s a good sign that she’s reacting at all.”

Arguing back, getting angry, reaching for her sword…

Come to think of it, it had already been two weeks since I manifested Lunaria.

With Sheena, it took about twenty days for her ego to return. Silver Wolf-kin were not nearly as prolific as Rabbit-kin, so maybe it would take another ten days or so.

Either way, it looked like her personality was just about ready to snap back into place.

Though, once that happens… it’s going to be Sanada vs. Sheena vs. Lunaria, isn’t it? Talk about a recipe for a headache.

We stepped off the teleportation pad, drawing the gazes of the other guilds in the room.

 ”Yo, Karen.”

A group of handsome guys in the corner waved at Karen. Those were the bastards from the Voice Acting Department. I’d heard they formed a guild called ‘Voice Actors Hunter Guild’ (VAHG), consisting of the guys from the voice acting track and the self-proclaimed ‘top-tier’ students from every other class.

It’s just as literal as it sounds. There were a few average-looking guys in the mix, but I assumed they were just hangers-on.

 ”In your dreams!”

Karen stuck her tongue out at them in response. She used to wave back with a bright smile, but ever since she saw them gang-raping a Soul-less Doll in the plaza, she’d treated every encounter with that kind of cold defiance. Maybe it was because they were guys she used to be on decent terms with; seeing them violate an unresisting Soul-less Doll clearly hit her harder than anything else.

Leticia was right beside her, sticking her tongue out, too. Since she was from the Animation Department, she likely had some history with them as well.

The handsome group just gave a wry smile at the cold shoulder. They’re pretty resilient for pretty boys, I’ll give them that. A few of them had their eyes locked on Lunaria, though. Well, I suppose if you’re a voice actor, you’re bound to have an interest in Beastmen.

”Leave it at that. They were probably feeling pretty desperate back then, too.”

They didn’t have access to the Wall-Butt service, after all. As a guy who also deals with amped-up sexual urges, I couldn’t bring myself to condemn them as harshly as Karen and the others. Besides, they have access to the Wall-Butt service now, and they’ve managed to pick up a few slaves—they seem way more composed than they did back then.

”That doesn’t change the fact that they’re the kind of people who would do something like that.”

”They treated a woman like an object. Unforgivable.”

 ”Alright, alright.”

I pulled Karen and Leticia close by the waist, steering them forward. Right on cue, the teleportation pad behind us flared with light, and when we turned around, Yuki’s party appeared, looking absolutely wiped.

”Yo, Yuki. You guys look like hell.”

It’d been a while. Yuki’s group had been camping out in the 11th Stratum, so we hadn’t crossed paths in ages. I’d been getting my reports from Coach Sayama, who hadn’t cleared the 10th Floor yet.

”Ah, Guild Master. We just barely managed to clear the 11th Stratum.”

”Good work, GM-ssu. That was seriously brutal-ssu.”

Looks like they finally cracked the 11th. It had been a little over ten days since they started after Hina’s power-leveling run. Took me about a week, but maybe they took more breaks?

”Listen to this, GM. Sonoda over here just had to keep opening treasure chests, but his luck is so trash we had to run the circuit one extra time.”

 ”Ugh.”

I see. So it was Sonoda’s shitty luck that ate up all the time.

”Takeda-senpai had the best luck, for sure.”

”Hmph. If you’d let me open all the chests from the start—I’m the guy who pulled the top rarity in the Gal-game Gacha without spending a dime—we would have finished way faster.”

 ”He’s an enemy.”

 ”Definitely an enemy.”

 ”Yep, total enemy.”

”Wh-why are you guys saying that!?”

 ”Shut it.”

Bragging about Gacha luck in front of us… maybe I should just execute him.

”Ahaha, I won’t let you open any in the 12th Floor. Anyway, GM… is it true? That your body changed after you ranked up?”

”Hm? Hina and the others tell you? Yeah, it’s true.”

 ””””Ohhh!””””

Yuki leaned in, dropping his voice as his gaze flicked toward my crotch. When I nodded, Sonoda and the others let out a collective shout of surprise.

”No way, it was actually true…”

 ”I heard it from Nanami-ssu, but… I didn’t think it was real.”

”I heard from Masako, too, but I didn’t believe it. I mean, actually having your d**k change…”

”It’s just like how your physical stats get boosted; it seems to be an effect of the dungeon. Once you guys hit C-rank, you’ll feel the difference. Though the… change down there seems to start at C+ rank.”

I didn’t mention the possibility that my body might have been tampered with when I was kidnapped, or that I could be turning into a demon. At this stage, it’s all just speculation based on dreams Freya whispered to me and conversations with Remia. If I told them and got them scared, causing them to hesitate on ranking up, they’d be useless as my shields. Better to let them think that ranking up just makes you a legend.

”It is a Succubus Dungeon, after all. It’s not that strange, considering how much our libidos have spiked. I see… so at C+ rank, I could…”

 ”I—I’ll do my best-ssu!”

”Hmph, it’s essential for a harem of beautiful girls! I’ll show you, I’ll make it to that summit!”

”I’ll do my best so I can keep Melissa satisfied.”

”I want to make Mazetta-san scream, too.”

Looks like Yuki and the rest of them are fully motivated. In Yuki’s case, I’m sure Hina gave him a little nudge behind the scenes. Damn sis-con.

Sonoda recently got a Soul-less Doll, right? Kate, was it? A petite, freckled redhead in her mid-teens who just naturally made you want to protect her. Apparently, Nanami was doting on her like a little sister. I’d made sure to spread the word through the ‘Girls’ Association’ that helping others was the key, using Takeda’s previous misfortune as a cautionary tale. Seems like he’s doing well with his Soul-less Doll.

”Heh, keep at it. All my women are fully satisfied. And the Wall-Butt girl, too.”

”Even the Wall-Butt girl!? That’s incredible.”

”Oooooh! I’ll do it! I’ll make it happen-ssu!”

”Hmph, I’ll be sure to add a Succubus Management into my harem, too.”

Sonoda had a premature e**culation issue and used to get those judgmental stares from the Wall-Butt girl all the time. After I gave him the lowdown on using toys and focusing on proper foreplay, he finally managed to secure a Soul-less Doll. Nanami even thanked me through the Girls’ Association for that one. They’re probably all just looking to pull a comeback with their upgraded equipment.

Takeda’s overconfidence is just par for the course. He’s probably never been tempted by a Succubus Management guide before. I really want him to experience that aphrodisiac effect at least once.

”Well, you heard the man. Good luck.”

 ”””””Yes, sir!”””””

I left them to it, rejoined Sayaka and the others, and bid Yuki farewell. As we walked away, the exhausted look on their faces had vanished, replaced by pure, fire-lit determination as they watched us go.

* * *

… Tester Life, Day 118, Morning. 14th Stratum, Inner Perimeter (Depths). Sanada Yakumo …

”Orc Wizards should start popping up around here. Everyone, keep your guard up.”

We had been fighting our way about a kilometer from the town entrance along the main road leading to the castle. Now, we were finally entering the depths of the Inner Perimeter.

”Hanako will defend us from anything coming from the front, so there’s nothing to worry about.”

”I’ll just hide behind Hanako and shoot, so I’m totally fine!”

”I’m sure Hanako would happily jump in front of anything, too.”

”Fufufu, true enough. Hanako is reliable like that.”

It seemed Hanako had earned absolute trust as our meat wall. Sanae was definitely getting the wrong idea, though.

”Right. Rock, I’m counting on you too.”

I made sure to call out to Rock, whose presence was starting to fade into the background compared to the Light Shields wielded by Hanako and Leticia.

 ”Woof!”

”Fufu, Rock-chan is doing a great job protecting us. Such a good boy~”

 ”Wuff♪”

He did not seem to mind at all. As usual, he was completely helpless against praise from women.

Since Lunaria had joined the party, our formation was Hanako, Lucy, and me in the vanguard; Karen, Sheena, and Lunaria in the mid-line; and Rock, Sayaka, Sanae, and Leticia in the rear.

Sheena observed the flow of battle from the mid-line and deployed Lunaria at exactly the right moments. The downside was that I could not cast magic whenever Lunaria remained in Berserker Mode, but her raw combat power was simply too valuable to ignore.

 ”Incoming!”

A little farther ahead, I detected six Orc mana signatures in an alley and warned the group. Sanae, whose detection range exceeded mine, already had her bow drawn and aimed toward the rooftops farther ahead.

As the Orcs burst out of the alley, I unleashed my spell.

 ”Fire Shell.”

A compressed cannonball of flame roared forward. It slammed into the chest of the Orc in the center of the pack and exploded. Flaming fragments blasted into the Orcs on either side, showering them with sparks.

Because they had been packed so tightly together, my standard mana output was enough to drop three of them immediately.

That left two Orcs wielding scimitars and one in robes—the Orc Wizard.

 ”Fire Lance.”

A moment later, Sayaka’s three flaming spears streaked toward the survivors.

Before they could connect, the Orc Wizard raised a hand and cast Stone Ball.

Three rocks materialized above its head as it swung its arm downward.

At the same instant, Sayaka’s spears pierced its chest.

”Casting time is quick. Flight speed’s decent too. Still, something like this is easy enough to dodge.”

I analyzed the three fist-sized rocks as they hurtled toward us.

 CLANG! CLANG!

Just before they reached the vanguard, Hanako stepped forward.

Using the massive greatshields strapped to both arms, she blocked two of the incoming stones.

 ”Oof♡”

She appeared to intentionally take the final one to the stomach, but that still fell well within my projections.

The impact made her hunch forward slightly, yet as a D-Rank Orc Woman General clad in full Black Iron plate armor, Hanako was completely unharmed.

While Lucy and Hanako finish off the two Orcs1 wounded by the aftereffects of the ‘Fire Shell,’ a swarm of Orcs headed our way appears at the end of the main thoroughfare.

”Yakumo! Two more groups are coming, one from the back alley and one from the main road!” Sheena shouted, her voice sharp and alert.

 ”Heading for the alley.”

They must have heard the sound of combat. To avoid the Orcs converging on us one after another, I lead everyone into the alley.

Once inside the alley, I spot another group of Orcs ahead, and my Mana Capacity sense detects yet another group at the next corner beyond them.

 ”Block off the rear.”

 ’Earth Wall.’

Following my command, Karen and Sanae cast ‘Earth Wall’ to seal the alley behind us. I’m sure they poured double the usual Mana Capacity into it; it should hold for at least ten minutes. Now we can fight without worrying about our six.

We turn to face the swarm of Orcs ahead, who have spotted us and are charging with their curved blades raised.

 ’Fireball.’

I wait for them to close the distance before launching a fireball at the lead Orc. Since ‘Fire Shell’ would be less effective against enemies spread across the width of the path, I’ll start by stopping their momentum.

 ’Ice Arrow.’

At the same time, Sayaka’s two ice arrows pierce the chest of an Orc Wizard at the very back of the group, who had stopped to cast magic. Looks like we took it out before it could launch its spell this time.

 Thwip-thwip.

Then, Karen’s Magic Gun fires off a barrage of Magic Bullets, hitting the five Orcs that Sayaka had stalled. Lucy lunges forward as well, finishing them off in quick succession.

 ’Fire Shell.’

Next, I fire a projectile of compressed flame—infused with double the Mana Capacity—at the new group appearing from the alley behind the main enemy pack. Just like before, it pierces the chest of the central Orc, drills through, and detonates upon impacting the Orc Wizard behind it. There weren’t any other Orcs near the Wizard, so we only got two, but taking out the caster is a job well done.

The remaining four charge us in a blind rage.

”O circle of purifying light, rend the enemy… ‘Light Ring’!” Leticia chanted, her voice resonant and poised.

Leticia, having chanted an unnecessary incantation, unleashes two rings of light that tear through the Orcs’ legs one after another.

As they tumble to the ground, Feli rushes in at full speed, biting through their throats. Lucy joins in, and the forward Orcs are wiped out in no time.

”Master, it seems it’s nearing its limit,” Sheena reported, her tone professional and clipped.

Looking back, I see large cracks spreading across the earthen wall that Karen and Sanae had erected. Beyond it, I can feel the Mana Capacity signatures of about 18 Orcs. It’s the group that spotted us on the main road and gave chase. Saizou must have handled the archers who tried to follow us over the rooftops, but there are still so many of them.

”Is it because the Orc Wizard is pelting it with Stone Balls? It’s crumbling faster than I expected.”

Even with double the Mana Capacity, it usually holds longer than this. Maybe I should have them use ‘Stone Wall’ next time? But that would mean only Sanae could use it, and we wouldn’t be able to seal off the alley completely.

”Oh, well. Sayaka, once it breaks, I want a ‘Tornado’ right after me. Sheena, follow that up with ‘Lunaria’.”

I issue instructions quickly as the sounds of curved blades and stone balls hammering against the wall echo around us.

”Understood,” Sayaka replied, her voice steady.

”Acknowledged. The Princess, it’s your turn,” Sheena added, turning toward our companion.

”…Very well,” Lunaria replied, her tone cool and collected.

The earth wall collapses, and a massive group of Orcs surges into the alley amidst a cloud of dust.

 ”It’s a target-rich environment. ‘Fire Shell’.”

I relax my lips at the sight of the densely packed Orcs and launch a double-strength fire shell at an angle.

 ””’Gwaah!”’”

The fire shell punches through the belly of an Orc in the center, gouges out the arm and flank of the one behind it to the right, and finally pierces the chest of an Orc in the very back before exploding. Bone and sparks scatter everywhere, and two more are incapacitated.

Heh, six down with one shot. Not bad.

 ’Tornado.’

As Sayaka casts her magic, a small tornado forms in the heart of the Orc swarm. It scoops up one, two Orcs, and heads straight for the Orc Wizard in the back. The surrounding Orcs panic and scramble toward the walls, desperate to escape the vortex. But the Orc Wizard, mid-cast, cannot move and fires its stone ball into the incoming tornado. It’s batted away, and the two clumped-up Orc Wizards are sucked into the whirlwind and tossed into the air.

When the spell’s effect wanes, four Orcs fall from the sky and slam into the alley floor with dull thuds. That makes ten.

”The Princess, let’s go,” Sheena commanded.

Sheena and Lunaria charge the confused Orcs with rapiers and longswords in hand. The Orcs that had fled toward the wall frantically raise their blades, but they can’t react to the blinding speed of Sheena, who has bolstered herself with Beast Ki and is equipped with the Anklet of Swiftness. One by one, their throats are slit. Lunaria, too, closes the distance in a blur, parrying blades with her longsword before thrusting into necks or cleaving them down.

The eight remaining Orcs are dispatched in the blink of an eye by the two of them.

”Good work,” I said, greeting them as they returned.

I leave the final clean-up to Feli and Hanako and call out to Sheena and Lunaria as they return. Lunaria steps forward, so I pat her head; she wags her tail vigorously in delight. Her face remains expressionless, but she’s been nudging me to praise her like this lately.

”My, my, begging for affection again, The Princess? To think The Princess who told me to seduce men and give away my virginity would now be fawning over a man like this… it’s deplorable,” Sheena teased, her voice dripping with mock-seriousness.

Irritated, Lunaria freezes her tail mid-wag.

 ”Alright, let’s move on.”

To prevent another fight from breaking out, I put an arm around Lunaria’s waist and lead them forward.

 Summary:

Sanada and his harem navigate the teleportation room after a frustrating gacha session, encountering the rival Voice Actors Hunter Guild and an exhausted Yuki’s party. After discussing the benefits of ranking up in the Succubus Dungeon, Sanada pushes deeper into the 14th Stratum’s Inner Perimeter. The party engages a group of Orcs, with Sanada and Sayaka coordinating magic attacks to neutralize the threat as the Orc Wizard prepares a counter-maneuver.

Yakumo and his team navigate an urban combat scenario against multiple waves of Orcs. After tactical repositioning into an alleyway and successfully using barrier magic to funnel enemies, the party executes a coordinated defense. The sequence concludes with the successful dispatching of the final pursuit group, punctuated by a tense personal moment between Sheena and Lunaria.

 —

 Trivia:

The manifestation of Lunaria’s ego is estimated to take around twenty days, similar to Sheena’s recovery.

Silver Wolf-kin are noted as having lower reproductive rates than Rabbit-kin.

The Voice Actors Hunter Guild consists of male voice acting students and high-caste students from other departments.

The physical changes associated with ranking up are explicitly linked to C-rank and C+ rank progression in the dungeon’s system.

Hanako’s role as a meat wall is perceived differently by the party members, showcasing a lack of tactical consensus.

Hanako is explicitly identified as a D-Rank Orc Woman General wearing Black Iron armor.

The Earth Wall spell requires double Mana Capacity to last approximately ten minutes under normal combat conditions.

Lunaria and Sheena share a complex history involving workplace-style harassment that fuels their current interpersonal dynamics.

The party’s tactical formation relies on Yakumo’s Mana Capacity sensing to predict enemy movements.
