”Just my eldest brother? Where is mother?” Ravel asked.
”The Lady is in her private quarters. You may request an audience with her yourself, following the conclusion of your formal visit,” the butler replied.
Ravel waved a hand dismissively. “Understood. You may go. I am taking Lord Aki—Aki, to meet with my brother.”
”As you wish, My Lady,” the butler stated.
Aki looked around with genuine curiosity as they walked. It was, quite simply, exactly what one would expect from one of the most successful Pure-blooded Devil clans of the current era.
On the surface, it appeared little different from the Gremory household, but a sharp eye revealed the slight smell of immense wealth in every detail. Whether it was the sheer number of servants, the plush carpets underfoot, or the manicured expanse of the outer courtyards, everything was of the highest quality.
Ravel thoughtfully slowed her pace, allowing Aki the time to admire the surroundings. Whenever she caught a glimpse of wonder or amazement on his face, the blonde young lady subconsciously puffed out her chest with a touch of pride.
Ten minutes later, Aki and Ravel were introduced to the current head of the Phoenix clan, the eldest of the four siblings: Lerval Phoenix.
The meeting was far more pleasant than he had expected; it showed the skill of a young genius leading such a vast, powerful house. Lerval made no mention of Riser Phoenix, choosing instead to focus their conversation on the possibilities of the future—so much so that Ravel grew increasingly flustered. Had it not been for the difference in hairstyle and attire, Aki would have had trouble believing Riser Phoenix wasn’t a clone of the man.
Once the formal meeting concluded, Ravel was officially recognized as Aki’s Empress—or rather, his consort-to-be—with the full blessing of the family head.
After taking leave of Lerval, Aki asked out of curiosity: “Ravel, why does your eldest brother look so much like Riser?”
”Did you not know, Aki? My three older brothers are triplets,” Ravel replied.
Ravel’s cheeks still held a faint, rosy warmth; the semi-serious, suggestive remarks Lerval had made during the meeting continued to echo in her mind.
”Triplets? I see. That explains it,” Aki said.
Aki nodded, thinking that the heavens truly seemed to favor the Phoenix clan. Not only were they reaping the benefits of the Rating Games, but they had also produced a set of pure-blooded triplets.
”And your second brother?” Aki asked.
”He’s working as a journalist in the Human World. He hasn’t been back in quite some time. I will introduce you when the chance arises,” Ravel answered.
As they chatted, they arrived before a door of polished red cedar. Ravel stopped, taking a moment to steady her breathing. “This is my mother’s room.”
Aki nodded. While this was technically a meeting with a future mother-in-law, he found he couldn’t summon even a hint of nervousness. It was, in fact, even less stressful than meeting Lerval.
Perhaps that was simply because he had already shared his ‘love’ with so many other future mothers-in-law, having had them in bed alongside their own daughters…
Ravel, blissfully unaware of the thoughts crossing Aki’s mind, was absolutely terrified at the prospect of presenting him to her mother.
Knock. Knock.
”Mother, I’m coming in…” Ravel said.
Half an hour later, Aki returned to Ravel’s bedroom with a look of calm indifference.
”Whew, that’s over with!” Ravel exclaimed.
The blonde Devil closed the door behind them and collapsed face-first onto her pink princess-style bed, letting out a long, relieved sigh.
”Aki, when mother asked you about my third brother just now, you didn’t seem nervous at all?” Ravel asked, rolling over on the bed and looking up at Aki as he scanned the room.
Aki opened the closet, peering at the array of ornate dresses inside, and replied nonchalantly: “Why would I be nervous? If you don’t hold a grudge against me, do you really think your mother would be genuinely angry?”
It had been a fair duel; if one lacked the skill, they had no one to blame but themselves. Moreover, Riser Phoenix’s antics prior to the duel had already squandered any lingering sympathy. Yubelluna and the others were still under Ravel’s name, still residing within the Phoenix estate; the details of the Secret Arts ceremony were no longer a secret to anyone.
Besides, Riser wasn’t dead, nor was he crippled. He had simply chosen to rot, preferring to be a ‘stud’ for the family rather than face the hardships of ambition. Truth be told, a life like that was something over ninety percent of all Devils could only dream of.
”Mmm…” Ravel mused on this for a moment before deciding to cast the thought aside. After witnessing the fate of Yubelluna and the others, she had lost all remaining expectations for her third brother.
”Oh, that’s right. Yubelluna and the others are staying at the villa on the west side. Would you like to go see them?” Ravel asked.
Aki set down the pair of white thigh-high stockings he had been examining. “Sure. I should check on the progress of their treatment.”
”Come to think of it, there are still a few who haven’t received treatment. I might as well get it over with over these two days,” Aki added.
At the mention of ‘treatment,’ Ravel’s fair, delicate cheeks flushed a deep crimson.
”Yubelluna and the others are quite strong; there is no danger to their lives,” Ravel huffed. “You promised to spend these two days with me! You aren’t allowed to back out!”
”Of course not. How could I ever abandon my Empress?” Aki chuckled. “But, my dear Empress, I’ll be with you during the day, but what about the night? Do you want me to keep you company then, too?”
Ravel’s body stiffened, and she quickly shifted from a prone position to a proper, ladylike sit. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be close to Aki, but everything had happened so fast; she had only just become his Empress.
”At night… well, at night we are, of course, supposed to sleep,” Ravel murmured.
Aki stared at Ravel and said, intentionally: “So, does that mean we won’t be sleeping together?”
Ravel: “…”
”If that’s the case, I’ll head over to the west villa to sleep tonight,” Aki decided.
Aki reached out and ruffled Ravel’s smooth, blonde hair. “Don’t worry, I’ll be here to keep you company tomorrow, right on time.”
Though she felt a little dejected, Ravel eventually agreed. After all, the treatment could technically be considered work, and since she wasn’t sharing her bed with him, it would be a waste of time to let the night pass in isolation. As for the relationship between a man and a woman…
The moment she chose Aki, she had already prepared herself mentally. Sharing Aki with other girls—if Rias could accept it, why couldn’t she?

Ravel had brought him there during the day, and they had already decided who would receive treatment this evening. Because Aki was planning to go on an excursion with Ravel early tomorrow morning, he decided to focus on two individuals tonight.
The first was the Japanese-style schoolgirl of the Bishop class, Minami. And the second was the only mature beauty among them, the bombshell Queen, Yubelluna.
Yubelluna could have once been called a ‘wife,’ but now she was little more than a ‘divorced’ young woman.
