Hinoki rustled dryly after watching the town for a while.

Yuu was calling out. Yui and Yuu, who had been waiting in line at the photo spot, were calling everyone for a group shot.

Hinoki faded back into me.
We gathered for a group photo in front of the view. We took a few in different poses with the pocket camera Anri-san had brought. I’ll get copies for everyone later.
After that, we toured the mountain hut, then headed down. We worked through the Intermediate and Beginner courses and finally made it back to the management building.
The sun was setting. Time to pack up.
When I went to call Sawa, I only found a snow mound where the Kamakura (a small snow hut) had been. I thought I had the wrong spot, but the five snowman-like markers in a row confirmed it — the entrance was completely sealed.
”Sawa? Where’d he go…?”
I looked around but saw no one. Then the snow mound in front of me rumbled. A tree branch poked out, followed by a hand.
”Time to head back already?”
Sawa’s face appeared through the gap.
”Almost… why were you hiding?”
”The kids swarmed me, so I hid my presence.”
”…How’d you breathe in there?”
”My sorcery controls plants. Making oxygen is easy.”
Sawa crawled out holding small fruits.
”What are those?”
”Nourishing nuts. Want one?”
I took a red one and bit into it. It was like a seedless little plum. A bit bitter, but I felt energy surge through me. Like eating raw garlic. A special nut made by Sawa’s sorcery. It worked instantly.
”One bite and you’re supercharged. Perfect for nighttime activities.”
”I’ll take it.”
”That’s a hundred million yen for three.”
”Sure, here’s a hundred million.”
I pulled a hundred-yen coin from my wallet and handed it over. Three nuts secured. My stamina was so restored I probably wouldn’t need Mitsuki’s Recovery sorcery.
”Wait, if you can do that, why didn’t you make nuts for airsickness?”
”Airplanes hit the core of my mind. No anti-motion sickness nut would help.”
Sawa muttered, looking annoyed. I didn’t fully get it, but I gathered that airplanes were Sawa’s worst enemy.
When I got back to the group, Chifumi and the others had just arrived. Everyone had come down the slope pretty well.
”We’re here～” Chifumi called.
”Yahoo! We made it down!” Mitsuki cheered.
Chifumi and Mitsuki looked proud. They’d learned to ski in one day. Manaka and Asari were also sliding down easily.
”Minoru～, where’d you go～? Didn’t see you this afternoon～?”
”I took the Beginner course with Yui, then met up with Anri-san. Saw the scenic spot too.”
”Eh～? So we just missed each other? What a shame～”
”Sometimes that’s how it goes.”
Once Chifumi and the others joined, we packed up. We returned the rentals and boarded the hotel bus.
At the entrance, we said goodbye to Anri-san’s group. Everyone had different plans from tomorrow, so this was it. Thanks for the lessons.
We watched them board a bus for the town, making sure they left before the crowds came, then walked back to the cottage. On the way, we stopped for dinner ingredients. The Naruse Merchant Guild, Tsuki-se Resort branch. Prices were a bit high, probably because of the resort. Risa’s member card gave us 20% off — that helped a lot. The store was new, big, and spotless. Perfect.
Back at the cottage, we split into cooking and cleanup teams. With Manaka, Chifumi, and Risa showing off their skills, I decided to take an early bath.
As I washed and soaked in the outdoor tub, my muscles ached. I could feel the strain from using parts of my body I didn’t normally use. I’d need ointment later to keep the soreness from seeping in.
Just as I thought about calling Hinoki to keep me company, someone entered the dressing area. I’d put up the “occupied” sign. Someone was coming in, knowing I was here.
A silhouette appeared behind the frosted glass. There was only one person with that body type. As I thought, Mitsuki walked in. But I didn’t expect her state of undress. She wasn’t wearing a towel over her chest or front — just around her waist, like an old man.
”Hey, either cover both or go full open… you never dress like that at home.”
”Well, I just remembered us taking baths together like this when we were kids. Doesn’t it feel nostalgic?”
”I get it. But that’s not what I was looking for right now.”

The result of the three’s hard work. It looked perfect, appealing to my sight and smell. They hadn’t served it into bowls yet. They’d been waiting for me to get out. I felt guilty.
But no one said anything when Mitsuki and I returned at nearly the same time… which meant they all realized she’d gone into the bath with me, right? Chifumi and the others were one thing, but Manaka and Sawa’s understanding felt strangely out of place.

”I’m starving.”
I heard Sawa’s stomach growling from across the table. The unease vanished, lost to my hunger.
Mitsuki and I took our seats, and the second night’s dinner began.

• Yui – Yuu’s sister and one of the Futami twins, this student has short hair with a white lock and pink/black attire. A blunt, low-tension Shisei group member, she acts as a sharp, mocking monitor who questions the protagonist. Minoru’s objective childhood friend uses knives and curse arts to manifest Clams and diffuse tension in Manaka’s circle, but was ultimately eaten by the Phantom.
• Yuu – Energetic and bubbly, this Futami twin is Mai’s older sister, Yui’s younger sister, a Mid-guard, and member of Manaka’s group. Marked by her expressive gestures, striped high-leg swimsuit, and striking a pose upon landing, she diffuses resort tension with a card game. She loves meat, playfully pushes a mic to Minoru, and follows her sister in combat before being eaten by the Phantom.
• Anri – The fourth Naruse sister and a Strong-Female living in the annex with her biological mother. As the older sister of resort guide Risa, this mentor-like figure and future dungeon administrator acts as an experienced guide for Minoru’s group. She manages logistics, leads training sessions, and provides vital advice on course navigation and safety.
• B – A student originally from North Middle School who was added to S’s group.
• Sawa – Voluptuous, bespectacled, and part of the Nieda family, this relaxed, IT-savvy student gamer is an original Shisei member and Onibara disciple. A pragmatic childhood friend who bluntly reads Minoru, she belongs to Manaka’s and Mitsuki’s circles. She wields plant-manipulating Inherent sorcery—creatively making a snow shelter—loves dry-land fishing, but needs recovery magic for severe motion sickness.
• K – A student from East Middle who followed N to National High School out of care, successfully remaining pure through N’s protection until a misunderstanding involving Anonymous Student 0008 led to her capitulation.
• Mitsuki – This tall, dark-skinned Oni girl has a muscular, athletic build. A haughty, high-tension transfer student, wealthy Sumo club member, Witch, and top assassin candidate, she loves snacks and chanting about money. Using a Kanabo and recovery magic, she is Minoru’s clingy childhood friend and training rival, leaving Manaka’s group to join his winter trip and help refine his Mana.
• R – A first-year student at District 13 High School who has successfully built a squad and added multiple girls, including M and A, into his group.
• Chifumi – Minoru’s long-haired, scrawny childhood friend and romantic partner is an articulate first-year honor student, squad leader, and Lead Majo wielding water/ice magic and a spear. Masking her sharp intellect and logical side with a playful, submissive Idol/Moe persona, she coordinates travel, schedules training, and assists with new recruits while hiding their intense mana bond from her mother.
• Manaka – An elegant, aristocratic Shisei High beauty and Kuga family sorcerer, this composed, authoritative leader of the Manaka group wields spatial and sound magic. Formerly with Mitsuki, she now advises childhood friend Minoru, managing recruits, dynamics, and protective oaths. Broad-minded and strategic, she facilitates intermediate training, orchestrates instruction, and authorizes Break-Lock.
• Asari – A serious, tall, long-haired, curvy (E-cup) Kasakura honor student and Crystal Wall vanguard explorer. Vetted by Chifumi as a polite, “Free” girl, she is restrained compared to Mitsuki but fidgets around new peers. Close to Mari and Nagase, she is Minoru’s devoted partner, thoughtfully offering lap pillows, being pampered, and joining the group’s intermediate ski training and rituals.
• Naruse – The Naruse family, an old-money sorcerer lineage and wealthy merchant guild, maintains a prestigious yet understated presence. They reside in a modest private estate featuring an integrated family dungeon and a dojo smaller than the Onigahara family’s.

Aikawa’s sister and Anri’s protective elder sister, she is a disciplined Onibara practitioner wielding a grenade rifle. She is Minoru and Yurina’s authoritative guide, teasing him about his secrets, cooking with Chifumi and Manaka, and remaining warily distrustful of Komoda and newcomers.
