She didn’t understand his reasoning, but she nodded obediently. She’d do whatever he said.
”Mom, I’m home.”
”And your friend? Male or female?”
A lifetime of authority and being in charge made Reika’s tone instinctively sharp.

Kurashiki Reika had always prioritized her career, and she’d neglected Reina’s emotional needs as a result. The girl had grown into something… unmanageable. But Reika did care about her only daughter.
