Chapter 79 The Demon Princess and the Mark of Dominion

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

I was advancing slowly toward the demon princess, Lucifiel, who stood there stunned—when it happened.

A chill of killing intent ran up my spine.

Myuril, the demon girl in maid’s attire who had been silently watching from the corner, once again filled with murderous intent and lunged at me without a sound. In both hands, she held assassin’s blades that hadn’t been visible moments before—slender kunai that seemed to melt into the darkness, held in a razor-sharp stance.

 Her target was my throat.

 A fatal blow.

But I deflected it with the protective gauntlets I always kept concealed beneath my clothes.

 CLANG—

The high-pitched ring of metal split the silence.

 CLANK. CLANG. CLANK-CLANK-CLANK—

A series of metallic collisions echoed around me, one after another.

From the moment she landed, her onslaught never stopped.

Twin short kunai, held in a reverse grip in both hands, came at me like a storm of slashes. I blocked every single one with the protective gauntlets built into my forearms.

—Just as I’d expect from the princess’s trusted blade.

Her skill was undeniably the real deal. She was strong.

Between her relentless physical attacks, she wove in small but exceptionally powerful magic strikes. Lightning-like mana flashed through the gaps in her slashes.

 But no matter how powerful—

If it was magic, I could leave it to my [Magic Seal].

So I focused solely on the countless kunai slashes before me.

 And then—

Just as she was about to unleash a major technique…

Her balance wavered, ever so slightly.

I didn’t miss that split-second opening. I grabbed her right wrist, the one gripping the kunai, in a firm grip. Her cool skin met my palm.

I channeled my vast mana directly into her slender body. A paralysis spell—a status-effect magic that robs the target of their freedom. Myuril was a demon with powerful mana reserves. But my mana surpassed hers.

I completely immobilized her, stripping her combat ability—

I succeeded in rendering her helpless.

Gently, I lifted her limp body into my arms.

And this time, I slowly advanced toward the demon princess—Lucifiel.

”…What are you going to do with that girl?” Lucifiel asked, her expression tense. A faint tremor colored her voice.

”I don’t intend to harm her,” I replied, keeping my tone even. “As I said from the start, I came here to greet you. And to have a thorough exchange of opinions—with you.”

I gently laid Myuril onto the bed where her mistress slept. A faint smell lingered from her body—the scent of having lost control.

(The paralysis magic must have made her lose bodily control.)

Feeling a pang of guilt, I turned to face the princess.

I took Lucifiel’s slender arm and pulled her toward me, giving her no chance to refuse.

—From here on, I would be a little forceful.

”Kyah! How rude!” she cried, her voice a faint, fragile protest.

But I ignored it, gently stroking her trembling body as if to soothe it.

Then I reached out toward the two pairs of wings spreading from her back.

One pair, pure white like an angel’s. The other, jet-black like a demon’s. Both were covered in soft feathers.

 ”An angel’s wings, and a demon’s wings… Truly beautiful,” I murmured.

”…These are the only keepsakes my father, the Demon King, and my mother, an angel, left me,” she said softly.

 I see.

So she was a forbidden child—born between the former Demon King and a pitiful angel he had captured somewhere.

Her body was so beautiful, and so fragile, that I found myself growing fond of her. I began to lose myself in adoring her.

”…And you—who exactly are you?” she pressed, her voice gaining a hint of sharpness. “You’re human, aren’t you? How did you get into this demon realm? To sneak into this bedroom all the way here, without anyone noticing—mmph, ah!”

”I came because I wanted to see you,” I said, keeping my answer deliberately vague. “I just lost myself, and somehow ended up here.”

I still wasn’t sure how much to tell her. Since I couldn’t foresee our future relationship, I chose to keep my answer vague.

”…That’s not an answer,” she said, her tone carrying the full weight of her royal displeasure.

 Naturally, she was angry.

But I ignored her protest and gently embraced her trembling body, wings and all. The white and black wings quivered slightly in my arms. Though she resisted, I tried to silently say things that words couldn’t express.

 It was a wordless understanding—

A quiet exchange, feeling each other’s presence.

Eventually, Myuril, who had been paralyzed and unable to move, regained consciousness and joined the conversation while keeping her distance. Slowly, a quiet bond began to form among the three of us.

I was a suspicious man of unknown origins who had appeared without warning.

There was no way they’d trust me easily.

Still, I had no choice but to build trust, little by little, through words and actions.

 And then—

Perhaps my polite treatment of women had paid off. Their hearts slowly began to warm to me.

Three hours passed in shared company.

Though we were different races, through shared words and emotions, they had lowered their guard around me.

And—on the smooth white bellies of both women, my mark of the “Dedicated Slave” now glowed faintly, clearly etched into their skin.

That mark was no mere contract seal.

It was proof that their mana and mine had mingled, creating a new bond that tied their hearts and bodies to me.

”Xenos-sama… You are on my side, aren’t you?” Lucifiel asked, her voice no longer carrying the tremor of anxiety. The eyes looking up at me like a puppy’s held unshakable trust.

”Of course, Lucifiel,” I said firmly.

”…If you ever betray Her Highness, I will tear your body to pieces,” Myuril warned, her voice cold as steel.

”Don’t worry,” I replied, meeting her gaze. “I could never betray Lucifiel. From now on, we’ll protect her together—Myuril.”

I held the two women close in my arms, both nestled against me contentedly, and embraced them tightly—firmly, deeply.

It was a sweet, quiet vow.

(To investigate the movements of Orcus, who seeks the demon throne, a cooperative relationship with these women who know the demon realm’s politics is essential. I don’t know how this world will turn from here, but—)

 I murmured softly to myself.

 (…Well, it’ll work out somehow.)

 —
