 We, BERYL, had arrived at a certain abandoned school on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, which marks the final leg of our tour’s first half.

 ”Wait, are we really allowed to use this place freely?”

 ”Yes. We’ve had experts inspect it, and we’ve obtained permission from the local residents, so it’s all good to go. We even bought it through Beryl.”

 Behind me, wearing jerseys, a large number of staff members followed.

 I pointed to the camera shooting our program and signaled for them to capture the scenery.

 ”Look, everyone! You can see the sea from here, and it’s amazing!”

 The school is located on a slight hill. As a location, it’s perfect.

 ”It’s great, isn’t it? The rice fields and gardens between the sea and the school are awesome.”

 ”And these rice fields and gardens were actually abandoned land that we acquired and purchased through Beryl.”

 This is amazing!

 I want to plant and harvest my own rice, and feed my future kids the vegetables I grew myself.

 ”At first, we were going to make this place Beryl’s training camp, but why not make it a resort that our group members can use, and a community center for the locals too?”

 ”Yes. It’s up to you all. The 4 of us can discuss it and do as we like.”

 Shintaro, Toa, Tenga-senpai, and I exchanged glances.

 ”Why don’t we start by greeting the neighbors?”

 ”I think that’s a good idea.”

 ”I agree!”

 ”I’m with you guys too.”

 Greeting the neighbors is unexpectedly important.

 Even if we have permission, it’s a different story whether they’ll accept us or not.

 Just like Beryl’s concept of getting close to our fans, we need to gain understanding from the neighbors first and be accepted as part of the community.

 ”Whoa!”

 I spotted an old lady on the road.

 ”Good morning!”

 Shintaro and I quickly rushed to support her body, which was about to fall backwards.

 Grandma slowly reaches out her hand and gently touches my cheek.

 ”And, by the way, Grandma, there’s an elementary school over there, right?”

 ”Yes, I went to school there when I was a kid. Now, it’s been merged with the school in the neighboring town and closed down, though…”

 ”That’s the one Beryl bought.”

 Grandma almost fell over again, so Shintaro and I had to support her once more.

 It’s getting hotter lately, so I hope she doesn’t get heatstroke.

 ”So, from now on, let’s get along as neighbors.”

 ”Y-yes! We’re looking forward to it!!”

 We waved goodbye to Grandma and split into 4 groups to greet the other neighbors.

 Alright, let’s greet our neighbors one by one!

 ”Good morning!”

 ”Ah, good morning… Who’s it–A-Aqua-sama?”

 I supported the big sister who was about to fall over.

 Including the grandma from before, everyone should watch out for heatstroke.

 ”Whoa… Are you okay?”

 The big sister tightly grasped my hand.

 ”Well, I play the piano, so I take care of my nails every day.”

 ”I see… So, Aqua-sama, what are you doing in a place like this?”

 I told the big sister that Beryl had bought the local elementary school.

 Then, the big sister was surprised and almost collapsed, so I supported her again. It would be troublesome if she fainted, so should we continue talking while staying close like this…

 ”That’s why, from now on, we’ll be neighbors. Nice to meet you.”

 ”Yes, nice to meet you too!”

 I parted ways with the big sister and continued to visit the neighbors’ homes to greet them.

 Alright, I’ve made it to the beach, and now I’m heading back to school to meet up with everyone.

 When I arrived at school, I found that Toa and the others had already returned.

 ”So, what’s the plan?”

 ”For now, let’s start by cleaning up the weeds and making the whole place look nice. We can start with that, right?”

 ”That makes sense, I suppose.”

 So, Toa took care of the school building, Tenga-senpai handled the gym, Shintaro was in charge of the pool, and I was responsible for the outdoor areas, including the grounds.

 ”So, I called in some backup. It’s our kids from the audition team.”

 For this live tour, we brought the entire audition team, all dressed in jerseys with different colors but the same design as ours.

 They looked a bit sleepy, having gotten up early today.

 ”Hey, why is Maruo’s jersey the only one with ‘Yamada’ on it?”

 ”Ah, that’s true!”

 Everyone else had their first names on their jerseys — mine was Aqua, Shintaro’s was Shintaro, Tenga-senpai’s was AKIRA, Subaru-tan’s was Subaru-tan, and Kukuri-chan’s was Kukuri-sama. But for some reason, Yamada’s jersey had his last name on it.

 ”Ah, this must be a mistake with the order…”

 The staff said they’d fix it later, but I thought it was kind of funny that only his jersey was different, so I told them to leave it as is.

 ”Alright, everyone split up. Toa and Shintaro, go support Tenga-senpai’s team.”

 ”””””Yeeeessss!!”””””

 The 6 of us remaining — me, Maruo, Kujaku, Hisui-chan, Subaru-tan, and Fi-chan — quietly pulled out the weeds.

 Hisui-chan and Fi-chan, who are used to this kind of thing, were energetic. Kujaku, on the other hand, looked like he was about to die. Was he okay? I told Kujaku to go pull weeds in the shade with Maruo.

 ”So, it’s never going to end! We won’t make it in time for the night’s live show!”

 With the increased number of people, it was getting tough with just a few of us.

 Just when everyone was about to give up, a neighbor who had received a commemorative jersey from the TV show we did earlier came wearing it and formed a line to help us.

 ”Aqua-sama, we’ll help too!”

 ”I heard that our old elementary school was being revived, and I just couldn’t stay still!”

 ”Please let us cooperate!”

 ”Everyone… Thank you so much! We’re saved!”

 I thought it was great that we were able to get along with the neighbors.

 Not only the neighbors, but also the town officials and people with heavy machinery came to help, and together we cleaned up the abandoned school.

 ”We did it! It’s become so clean!!”

 We were overjoyed to see the cleaned-up school building.

 However, there were still many things that needed to be fixed.

 We had removed the broken window glass, but we still needed to install new glass, and the rotten floorboards needed to be replaced.

 However, the gym and pool were still usable, and the inside of the school was cleaner than we had imagined.

 ”Will you come again tomorrow?”

 ”””””Yeah.”””””

 We discussed what to do with this abandoned school.

 ”For now, let’s make it a lodge or a retreat, and make it a place where people can stay. And, if we make it a community center for the neighbors, it’ll be convenient for them to use during disasters too, right?”

 ”There are many classrooms, so why don’t we leave a few as they are and renovate the rest?”

 ”That’s a great idea!”

 We decided to follow Shintaro’s plan, which was to leave the classrooms on the first floor, including the home economics room, the art room, and the music room, and renovate the classrooms on the second and third floors into dormitories.

 ”I think it would be better to have at least one classroom that can be used for art and crafts or as a studio. And when we use it as a dormitory, it would be nice to have a home economics room and a music room.”

 ”What about the staff room and the principal’s office?”

 ”The principal’s office would be a good place for the people who will be managing this facility to stay. We’ll need to have staff members stationed here to handle security, and the staff room can be used as a lodge for them. We should prepare computers and desks, and make sure there’s a good internet connection.”

 ”That’s true, it’s a good idea.”

 I nodded in agreement with Toa’s proposal.

 We definitely needed to consider the people who would be managing the facility and the staff members.

 ”What about the office next to the lobby?”

 ”Wouldn’t it be great to use the office room as a relaxation space for the local residents? We could just prepare some desks and chairs, and make it a free space that can be used for anything.”

 ”That’s a great idea!”

 I nodded in agreement with Tenga-senpai’s proposal.

 It feels like having the office room next to the shoebox as a relaxation space is a good idea in terms of location too.

 ”Assuming that the gymnasium, swimming pool, and grounds are used normally, what are the areas that need to be fixed at school?”

 ”Yeah.”

 ”Isn’t it okay to leave it like that for now?”

 ”Uh-huh!”

 It would be great to create a bathhouse that everyone can use too.

 When I was weeding earlier, the big sisters from the neighborhood were saying they wanted to take a bath, and it seems like there’s a hot spring around here. If we build a small hut and an outdoor bath, it would be awesome.

 ”Then I’ll get a heavy machinery license!!”

 When I told everyone about it, Tenga-senpai suddenly said that.

 It seems like he was impressed by the heavy machinery the neighbor was using earlier.

 ”Then, I’ll leave that to you, Tenga-senpai.”

 ”Uh-huh!”

 ”Good luck, Tenga-senpai!”

 ”We’re rooting for you, Tenga-senpai!”

 There are also rice fields and gardens, and there are many things we need to do, so just thinking about it is already overwhelming.

 However, no matter what we do, we need to eat first.

 ”Everyone, it’s already past lunchtime, so let’s eat lunch first.”

 ”Ah.”

 ”Yeah!”

 ”Uh-huh!”

 So, I decided to invite the neighbors to have a barbecue on the park. After all, what better way to enjoy summer and sweat than with a barbecue!

 ”I’ll leave the barbecue to you, Tenga-senpai.”

 ”OK, I’ll take care of it!”

 Shintaro, the other 3, and I decided to make sashimi and tempura with the fish and cooking stove the neighbors brought.

 Of course, Shintaro and I would be the ones to gut the fish, and the others would fry the gutted fish.

 ”Tempura with flatfish and kiss fish is the best!”

 ”Yeah.”

 I handed the gutted fish to Toa.

 When the big sisters saw it, they started to get a little wobbly.

 Is everyone okay? You guys were just working, so be careful not to get heatstroke!

 ”This mackerel, if we grill it, it’ll be super delicious, right?”

 ”That’s right. For now, let’s eat it as sashimi. We’ll do it like we always do.”

 Munch munch.

 Wow, it’s so fresh! We got it from the local fishing port this morning, so it’s incredibly delicious!

 ”Hey, will you eat some too, big sister?”

 ”Y-yeah…”

 I handed the freshly sliced sashimi to the sister.

 Although it’s not very polite, this is the best way to eat it.

 ”Hey, Maruo! Come over here! Since we’re here, I’ll teach you how to fillet a fish!”

 ”Yes! Aqua-san!”

 ”If you come over, we can all go fishing together next time. It’s better to learn how to fillet a fish, so come on Let’s start with scaling first.”

 ”Got it!”

 October is the season for Bigfin Reef Squid, so it’ll be fun to go squid fishing with everyone too.

 Just thinking about it is making me excited.

 ”Hey, I’ve got the grilled eggplant and white negi ready!”

 ”Yes!”

 I chomped down on the grilled eggplant and white negi that Tenga-senpai had prepared.

 The barbecue after our exercise is always amazing!

 After finishing our meal with the neighbors, we cleaned up and bowed our heads in gratitude.

 It’s all thanks to everyone that we were able to make it such a beautiful day!!

 ”Thanks to you guys too!”

 I thanked each of the juniors who had come to help, one by one.

 Thanks to you guys, we were able to get a lot of help.

 ”That’s why, from now on, we’ll make this place even more beautiful, and eventually, we’ll have fun together, and even have a sleepover, so look forward to the next report!”

 Finally, we took a commemorative photo to wrap things up.

 I thanked the staff members who had been working hard in the heat.

 ”Everyone, let’s hurry up and get on the bus to head to the live venue!”

 ”Yes!”

 We got on the bus that the staff had prepared, and since we were tired, we just fell asleep right away.
