Dad freezes in shock when he sees me and Kazumi.
He probably didn’t catch that it’s about ‘Ms. Hanna’…
”Mr. Shinji! Did you even listen to what Hiroya said? Ms. Hanna, who helps these kids, is pregnant!”
Mom shakes Dad’s shoulder to snap him out of it.
”R-Right… I was just thinking about what to say to Lord Müller… I got a bit flustered… sorry.”

Kazumi, don’t say things that make it awkward. Mom lets go of Dad and turns to me with a big smile.
”So, did Hiroya get involved with a widow?”
”How did you come to that conclusion?!”
”Huh? Well, because…”
”She’s 8 weeks along! It’s the child of her late husband! We only rescued Ms. Hanna 2 weeks ago!”
I can’t deal with this clueless couple anymore.
”Oh, I see…”
”Besides, I’m still just about to turn 9, okay? What do you think your son is?”

”Kazumi… can you please say something to this clueless mom?”
I put my head in my hands and left it to Kazumi.
”That’s right, Mom! I mean, Mother-in-law! Rena and Martina are just…”
”Don’t say it!”
I quickly cover Kazumi’s mouth. Right, Kazumi can be a bit forgetful too.
”Anyway, since it’s a child of her late husband, and also a brother or sister to the late Kai-chan, we really want her to have this baby. So…”
”You want us to take care of Lady Hanna while you’re off exploring the dungeon, right?”
Dad finally comes back to reality and regains his serious tone.

Kazumi called out to Mr. Rudolf through the door of the examination room, and he replied from inside.
”Sure. Can everyone come in?”

”Everything looks good for the early stage of the pregnancy. You need to be careful until the stable period, but light housework is totally fine.”
Mr. Rudolf explained to all of us. He probably already told Ms. Hanna this.
”…But are you still worried about giving birth? Ms. Hanna, I understand your situation. …But even with that, it doesn’t give you a reason to treat the life that’s already growing inside you poorly, okay?”

Mr. Rudolf’s words are probably something Ms. Hanna knows well in her head. But her heart is still struggling to accept it.
”Ms. Hanna. We all want you to have the baby. We know your situation.”
I looked straight at Ms. Hanna as I said this. Everyone else nodded too.

Kazumi spoke to Ms. Hanna quietly and slowly.

Ms. Hanna looked at Dorothy with tears in her eyes.
”I’m not good with words, but I think having and raising that child is a duty to the two who are gone and to the child itself. I believe it’s a responsibility you should take on, Ms. Hanna. …We’ll help you as much as we can.”
Ms. Hanna shook her head slightly.
”No, I can’t trouble everyone with my issues…”
”We want you to lean on us. We’re already like ‘family’ living together.”
Kazumi said with tears in her eyes.
”I’m… when the baby is born, I want to do so many things for them. Since I don’t know what it’s like to have a mom, I want to be like a mom to them and love the baby.”
Martina, who was an orphan, smiled brightly.
”Rena doesn’t have any siblings, so when the baby is born, I want to play with them.”
Rena took Ms. Hanna’s hand and held it gently.
”I don’t know anything about raising kids, but I’ll protect you and the baby, Ms. Hanna.”
Guys can feel so helpless.
”That’s right, Ms. Hanna. You don’t have to worry about where to live or anything. Just having you and the baby together is enough for us to keep going. Just welcoming us back from our adventures with a ‘welcome home’ is enough to keep us going.”
Kazumi continued.
”So… we want you to have the baby. Our baby.”
After hearing everyone’s feelings, Ms. Hanna lowered her face and started to cry. Her shoulders shook as she let out small sobs. Eventually, she looked up and nodded several times.
”I will… I want to have the baby. But… is it okay? Even if I cause trouble for everyone…?”
”Of course. Rena and the others are all like ‘papa’!”

Kazumi, Martina, and Dorothy took Ms. Hanna back to the inn, while Rena, Liz, and I headed to the guild.
”The entrance route is the same as last time. We’ll go into the dungeon through the entrance Hiroya found.”
Liz informed Miyori.
”Got it. I’ll give you the map of the old dungeon. It’s probably changed a lot, though. And here’s something I got from ‘Sage’ Ms. Milia.”
Miyori put a map, a scroll, and a stone that looked like a lump of mist on the counter.
”This is the scroll for the ‘teleportation circle.’ This stone is called a ‘magic stone.’ You need to bury this near the entrance of the dungeon. When you want to stop exploring the dungeon, you can use this scroll to cast ‘teleportation’ magic, and it will safely teleport you back to where you buried the magic stone.”
This is a magic tool made by Principal Milia for the ‘teleportation circle.’ It makes exploring the dungeon a lot easier. ‘Teleportation’ magic is supposed to be really hard, even for advanced users. It’s amazing that we can use it so easily like this.
”And when you want to start exploring again, just say ‘teleportation’ at the spot where you buried the magic stone, and you’ll be teleported back to where you set up the teleportation circle.”
”…This is going to be so helpful… Before we start exploring again, we can just come back here to get the scroll, right?”
Liz asked Miyori while looking at the scroll and the magic stone.
”Yes. Just keep repeating that… and aim for the deepest part. It should make things a lot easier.”
Miyori smiled brightly.
”Not just easier… We won’t have to keep going down from the first floor over and over again, right? We can reach the deepest part way faster than I thought.”
Liz grinned back.
”Also, the danger level in the forest has gone down compared to before. I think it should be fine to go there on horseback.”
”That’s a relief. I left a pregnant wife at home while I go exploring. I’m happy to be able to get back quickly.”
”Pregnant wife…?”
Miyori tilted her head at Liz’s words.
”Oh, don’t worry about it. It’s just something from my side.”
I jumped in to explain.
”Ah, using the scroll requires a lot of magical power, so… I think it would be best to leave it to Ms. Rena, Ms. Kazumi, or Ms. Dorothy.”
”Yeah. I got the hang of how to use it from Miyori’s explanation.”
Rena took the scroll and the magic stone and put them in her pouch.
”Well then, be careful on your exploration starting tomorrow.”
Miyori bowed her head.
”Yeah. Thanks a lot. We’ll do our best.”
Waving goodbye to Miyori, we left the guild and headed to the inn.
