I’m not sure if Risa-san was pretending not to know or if she’s just naturally clueless, but because of a creative gift she sent, I found out that Arshi-san shares the same hobby.
I couldn’t join in on their exciting hobby talk, so I just stared at the bright lights of the skyscrapers. Taking pictures from such a high place was pretty cool.
Elishira-san, who was listening to Risa-san and Arshi-san, noticed me and said, “Shuu, you really like taking photos, huh?” I didn’t think I liked photos that much, but I guess that’s how it looks to others. Since it was getting late, we took a taxi back to the hotel.
The next day──
Risa-san started a short study abroad program that lasts until March. Even though her interview is over, she only had yesterday off, and now she’ll be visiting different departments at the hospital for a few weeks.
It’s not as tough as when she was in Japan, but she still seems really busy.
As for me, I have nothing to do. I don’t know anyone here, and I don’t have any hobbies like Risa-san. At that moment, I got an email from the owner of my part-time job and my guardian.
The email from the owner said, “Quitting suddenly is too abrupt,” and suggested, “Since you’re in New York, you should check out the store list I wrote below. Look at the interior, the store’s appearance, and the type of customers.”
He also asked me to send back photos of the store interiors and my thoughts, plus reminded me to bring back some alcohol as a souvenir when I return to Japan.
(There’s no way I can buy alcohol!)
He should remember that I submitted my resume when I applied for the part-time job and that I’m in high school, but it seems like he forgot my age.
I’ll only be able to see this view of Central Park from my window for 2 more days since my new life in a different room is starting soon.
Once I have kids, I probably won’t be able to enjoy this carefree hotel life anymore, so I should make the most of it. I decided to check out the store the owner recommended.
