”Ah, Sir Aaron. You shouldn’t say that!! Um… Your Majesty. I never intended it that way…”
The Queen smiled gently at the flustered mother.
”Well, it’s not unusual for a mother to give something to her daughter. Right, Mama Akari?”
”This is indeed a scenario where a mother and daughter are vying for one man’s affection,” Sir Aaron chuckled.

And the next day.
Master Sharlin came to the royal castle on Duke Yōmo’s orders.
She was there to report details about Big Sister Melon.
In the Queen’s office were Sir Aaron, my mother-in-law, Ms. Ellulu, and me.
Lady Beyond also gathered to listen.
”I am truly ashamed. To think that I, Sharlin, would have to endure such humiliation twice… Lady Melon was taken away by a bear-like Beastfolk and vanished right before my eyes.”
Damn it!
That bear guy again!!
I felt the blood in my whole body surge in anger.
According to my master, one night, thieves broke into the warehouse where they were storing the batteries they crafted at Big Sister Melon’s research facility.
The plan was originally to steal the batteries, but due to their weight, they switched to arson to render them unusable.
When Ms. Sharlin and Big Sister Melon rushed to the scene, my sister commanded the firefighting efforts while Ms. Sharlin pursued the thieves.
After a while, she returned to Big Sister Melon’s side, but right before my master’s eyes, a large bear man appeared and vanished with my sister in his arms before my master could reach her.
”It was that simple gate again! But what were the other guards doing?!”
Sir Aaron was furious.
”The flames were fierce, and many were occupied with firefighting. There were also many people around Ms. Melon, so… we were caught off guard,” my master said, barely able to contain her frustration. I tried to speak up too.
”The fire was strong, and many people were being taken to firefighting. There were many people around Ms. Melon, so I was letting my guard down.”
If I leave it alone, I’m so nervous that I might even cut my stomach. So I’ll call out too.
”Master! But doesn’t that mean the enemy was targeting my sister from the start? That battery, if not handled properly, can explode, and my sister said they intended to start a fire and create chaos from the beginning. It’s not your fault, Master!!”

Everyone present agreed with Sir Aaron’s statement.

”Yes! Whatever you command!”
”Sharlin. I command you to secure Melon’s safety. Of course, you will have to infiltrate the neighboring country secretly. The danger to your life will be significant.”
”You need not worry about my life. But do you have any leads on Ms. Melon?”
”Hmm. There are still uncertain aspects, but it seems they are in pursuit. Besides, you have some demon blood in you, right? You shouldn’t be too suspicious in that country. Well, to make it a bit easier for you, I will command the army at the border in place of our pregnant queen to keep the neighboring country in check.”
”That would be helpful. Then I will carry out your orders. I swear to the divine!!”

Mom is angry.
”Akari is right, Karin. If you go, you’ll just become a burden to Sharlin.” Sir Aaron is somewhat exasperated.
”But I’ve trained a lot under my master. I’ve even taken a bear’s hit once. Right, Master?”
”No… if Sir Tethyrkan hadn’t been there at that time, you… that’s just reckless. You might not come back alive. Having you along would just be a nuisance!”
I was deeply discouraged after my master said that.

Early the next morning.
Sharlin prepared for infiltration and set off, starting her entry into the neighboring country directly via Duke Yōmo’s territory a few days later.
Of course, she couldn’t pass through the town streets or checkpoints, so she entered via a deserted mountain path.
As night approached, she planned to spend the night in the mountains… but noticed a suspicious presence, closing the distance in an instant and thrusting her sword into the bush.

”What? Karin… why are you here… no. I won’t say anything bad; when dawn breaks, go back the way you came!”
”No way. Even if I’m driven away, I’ll secretly follow again.”
”How audacious. To think you could follow me on this mountain path… but still, how did you manage to get this close without being detected?”
”Hehe. I guessed you would probably take this route, so I spent my pocket money renting a carriage and set up at the mountain entrance ahead of time. I see right through your plans, Master! Please, I promise I won’t be a hindrance, and if it gets dangerous, I’ll escape properly. So please take me along. I can’t just sit still and wait anymore! Besides… I’m better at handling things than you.”
As I said this, I pointed to the magic wireless device strapped to my master’s waist.
