*Karin’s Perspective
A message came that the caravan carrying Sir Aaron and my mother entered Ilman about half a month later.
It will take about 2 more weeks to reach the Royal Capital, but I insisted on using long-distance communication with Queen through Ms. Ellulu.
’What’s this, Karin? I thought you wouldn’t show up at the ceremony. Go ahead.’
Really, Sir Aaron always speaks as if he looks down on people a little.
”Sir Aaron, I must say I won’t be attending the ceremony, and I won’t be calling you father-in-law! However… I have a request… please.”
’What is it? You’re unusually serious today. Go ahead and say it.’
”I want to know about the spirit clan. Please teach me! Go ahead!”
’!? ……’ I heard a choked groan on the other end of the transmission, and since Sir Aaron didn’t respond immediately, I continued speaking.
”Uh? Sir Aaron, is something wrong? Go ahead.”
’…Karin. Why would you want to know about that… well, go ahead.’
”I heard that the spirit clan might be able to fix this right arm of mine.”
Then I conveyed all the details I had learned since coming to the Royal Capital to Sir Aaron.
’I see… so that’s it… in that case, Karin, until we reach the Royal Capital, let me organize what I can teach you.’
’Hey! Karin, you mustn’t trouble Sir Aaron!!’
”Huh? Mom, you can’t interrupt the communication. We must follow proper etiquette… please.”
The communication ended, but… it seems that the spirit clan is something even Sir Aaron finds difficult to discuss.
However, he had gone that far for me.
I felt a bit hopeful that I might receive some kind of explanation at least, at that moment.

Two weeks later.
Sir Aaron and mother arrived at the Royal Capital and immediately entered the royal castle’s detached palace.
That night, I visited them with Ms. Ellulu.
Ignoring any congratulations on the wedding, I asked about the spirit clan… Sir Aaron’s response was completely cold.
”Karin. I can’t teach you about the spirit clan. You must not get involved with them.”
”Um… I understand it’s a national prohibition. But why is it even forbidden to meet them? Is this country that hated by the spirit clan?”
”That’s true, but more importantly, we don’t even know if meaningful conversation is possible with those people. The neighboring country, Apocalypse, has been in conflict for hundreds of years, and there has hardly been any dialogue. And in the unfortunate event that the neighboring country were to lose and our country ended up in conflict with them, just think of the casualties before any discussions could even happen… So Karin. I’m telling you it’s for the best. Just give up on the spirit clan.”
”But Sir Aaron…”
”I’m sorry, Karin. I can’t send troops across the neighboring country just to introduce you to the spirit clan!”
It’s true, I couldn’t ask for something that unreasonable.
Just as tears started to well up, my mother spoke to me.
”Karin. About that connection… it might be possible in the original world where Yuuta and I were. Over there, medicine has developed without using mana or healing…”
”Is that so?”
”Yes. So once Yuuta returns, let’s definitely consult him.”
”…That’s right. If my father comes back, I might also be able to go there. Is that right, Sir Aaron!?”
”Yes. I think that’s many times better than relying on the spirit clan.”
As I was proudly discussing visiting Tokura Village, the generator at Sir Yōmo’s place, and Big Sister Melon’s laboratory with Sir Aaron and my mother, a messenger suddenly burst into the room.
”Your Majesty the Emperor is coming!”
I gasped in surprise.
Before I could process it, Queen Asuka rushed into the room where we were.
I thought she didn’t need to be so flustered… Did she really want to see the two of them that badly?
”Elder Brother Aaron. Ms. Akari. I’m so relieved to see you both safe… but that’s not the point! Ms. Melon has just been reported missing!!”
”What!?” Everyone present shouted, not just me.
”What does this mean? Wasn’t she supposed to be researching with bodyguards at Elder Brother Yōmo’s place?” In response to Sir Aaron’s question, the Queen admitted that the details were still unclear.
”Ah, I was supposed to come and celebrate you two tonight, but now this has happened… What am I to do…” As she said this, the Queen nearly stumbled, and my mother quickly stepped in to support her.
”Aaa-aaa, Your Majesty. It’s been a while. But… you mustn’t be so flustered. It could affect the child you’re carrying!”
”Ah, Ms. Akari. But… I have caused you so much trouble…”
”It’s no trouble at all! Yuuta always gets to enjoy himself… Sir Aaron is so kind, so I want to have some good experiences too.”
”Thank you, Ms. Akari. I’ll take your words to heart and let it be so…”
”By the way, Your Majesty. I have a gift for you,” my mother said as she instructed a servant to bring over a box of clothes.
”This is a belly band. I sewed it myself. Given your condition, it seems like the perfect time to wrap it,” she said, beginning to teach the Queen how to wear it.
”Ah. This feels quite comfortable. It feels very reassuring to be protected by Ms. Akari,” the Queen seemed to be quite pleased, but Sir Aaron murmured as he watched.
