”Oh? Really now? My, my, that sounds just awful, doesn’t it?” I asked, pouring on the false sympathy. “But I’m super sorry, Karentisia-chan. The only spare outfit I had? I already gave it to Alexia as a gift. So, you’ll just have to hang out completely butt-naked for a while, okay?”
”Huh? W-what on earth are you saying? You mean to tell me to run around this huge grassland starkers?” she scoffed, horrified.
”Oh! That’s actually a great idea! You should get right on that, Karentisia-chan!” I urged her.
”I will not! Just give me the clothes, you idiot. My body is all hot and sweaty from fighting Churidince. You can see the sweat dripping off me, can’t you?” she questioned, her voice tight with suppressed rage.

Is it also imbued with barriers and defensive magic, my lapdog (Shin)? This is a major invention. If the magic academy students or the nation’s soldiers wore this, the risk of injury would be drastically reduced.”
As expected of a former Elven Royal, she instantly analyzed the stolen clothes and was already trying to figure out how to exploit them.
”Whaaa! Alexia! I’ve been stripped completely naked! I’m starkers!” I whined, feeling utterly humiliated.”I’ve just job-changed into the same embarrassing state you and Karentisia-chan were in moments ago—it’s not fair!”

It was such a cute, little ‘naughty-naughty’ gesture. My heart was practically doing flips! Alexia! You’re the best! Keep that energy up and get my clothes back for me, Alexia!
”…Ah, I haven’t told Alexia the full details about that day yet,” Karentisia mused, rubbing her chin.
”That day, you say? What story is that, you know?” Alexia inquired, innocently.
…That day? Wait a minute, no way! Karentisia-chan isn’t seriously going to spill the whole story to Alexia, is she? I have to stop her! Fast! If I don’t stop her, Alexia will totally decapitate me while I’m butt-naked! I have to stop her right now!
”When I was little, I was bathing in the forest spring when this lapdog (Shin) suddenly appeared and attacked me,” Karentisia revealed, talking at ultra-high speed. “He stole the Sacred Artifact I treasured. Oh, and that’s not all, is it? He also took my travel gear, my clothes, and my entire virtue. Then, to top it all off, he licked my back, forced me to drink a memory-wiping drug, and then tampered with and erased my memory of that whole incident! This dog! After that, he spat some last words and just vanished.”

”…Shin-kun?” Alexia’s voice was dangerously quiet.
”I-it’s not like that, Alexia! After I altered Karentisia-chan’s memory, I totally put my own clothes on her! And I left her a huge pile of money before I ran off, too… Ah.”
Shoot. I didn’t mean to give that much detail. That’s really bad.
”…Shin is trash, ya know,” Elmia declared flatly.
”He’s a demon, nyaa, Shin-danna,” Silvia added, horrified.
My two comedic sidekicks were now giving me the most awful looks.
”Shin-kun…” Alexia’s voice was just a terrifying whisper.
”A-Alexia! Karentisia-chan’s story has discrepancies! Please, can you pause hugging me so I can protest?” I pleaded.
”Infidelity means… HEAD CHOPPING, YOU HEAR!” Alexia shrieked.
”Heeeek! I’m sorry!! My Alexia!” I squealed.
