Volume 1 Chapter 3 The Class I Was Given

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

When the light faded, I was standing on a stone floor. I was honestly just grateful I didn't faceplant this time. I couldn't see my face without a mirror, but I felt rejuvenated. Looking around, I found myself surrounded by people in robes-sorcerer types. Some kind of summoning ritual?

It slipped my mind until now, but being summoned to a crappy parallel world usually means being treated like a slave. I hope I'm okay… That AI support-san¹ didn't mention anything, so it should be fine. Seriously, I'm counting on you.

"Oh! The Heroes of this era! (Though there are a few extra this time…)"

A man in his fifties, standing a bit further back, called out. He was dressed in expensive-looking clothes-the guy in charge, probably. If he said "of this era," they must have done this "Hero Summoning" plenty of times before.

"Now, Heroes, please come this way. I shall explain everything," the man said.

The circle of mages parted, revealing a door. He led the way. Since nobody was trying to put us in chains, I decided to just follow along quietly. After walking through the stone building for a bit, we reached a large room that looked like a conference hall and took our seats.

"Now then, I am Fritz Gilman, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Maaultasche² and the person responsible for this summoning. This is my daughter, Martina."

"…I am Martina. A pleasure to meet you," she said.

Martina-san looked incredibly displeased for some reason. Maybe she was against the summoning?

She had sharp, sanpaku³ eyes that were a bit intimidating, but she was a total beauty. Slender, but with curves in all the right places-a fantastic body. I'd love to get close to her for some "socializing"-and by socializing, I mean "thrusting"-

Glare!! Scary! She totally just burned a hole through me! Wait, can she read my mind? This is bad. I was hoping I could finally lose my "amateur virgin" status in a world where the roles are reversed, but my plan is already looking shaky.

"My apologies, but I must step out. Martina will handle the rest of the explanation. I'll leave it to you," Fritz said.

 "Understood, Father," Martina replied.

The conversation moved on while I was busy thinking about stupid things. I guess Fritz-san is a busy man. Figures, being the Prime Minister and all. With him gone, it looked like Martina-san was taking over.

"…Once again, I am Martina. I'm only saying this once, so listen up."

Wow. The second Fritz-san left, her mask completely fell off. She's definitely the scary type. I'd better watch my step.

"It seems that among you, there are Heroes and other excellent classes meant to support them. To help us form the Hero's party, I need everyone to step up to the Appraisal Stone for a reading."

Martina-san pointed toward a stone slab on a pedestal engraved with strange patterns. I didn't think I'd be the Hero, so I tried to blend into the back of the line.

The first person to be appraised was a guy who looked like a high schooler. Rejuvenation or not, you could tell he was a student because he was still wearing his uniform. Personally, I was still in my business suit, which felt completely out of place.

 "It's a Hero!" someone shouted.

The first guy actually was a Hero. The Appraisal Stone visualized his status like a game UI.

I didn't know if those stats were good, but his skills sounded busted. "Divine Slash" is obviously an attack, but "Beacon of Hope"? I mean, he is the hope of the people, but what does it actually do?

The appraisals continued. Classic power-classes like "Sword Saint" and "Sage" kept popping up. Even worse, that piece of work Osamu was the Sage.

Are you kidding me? That jerk is a Sage? I heard he graduated from some top-tier university back home, but still… I can't wrap my head around it. Also, his old "barcode" combover was now a full, thick head of hair. Good for him, I guess. It looked like Sages were specialized for pure magic damage.

Ina-shi turned out to be a "Heavy Warrior," and Saeki was a "Civil Servant."

Given his build, Ina-shi made sense. I wasn't sure why his name changed from Otofumi to "Otto," though. Maybe it was a "soul name" or something? Back in our world, he was a self-proclaimed intellectual who bragged about his PhD, but his INT was basically rock bottom. He was a total meathead (omitted). Honestly, considering the quality of his thesis, I'm surprised they even gave him a degree…

Her INT was the only thing high. I guess being a bureaucrat is considered an elite job in this world, too. Since Saeki wasn't much of a fighter, this was probably better for her than a combat class. Not that I'd know.

However, looking at it like this, the power of the Hero and the Sage stands out. As expected, the greatest cheat is the Hero. The Ability values are way too high.

"It's not displayed on this Appraisal Board, but some of these skills have levels," Martina said.

She just casually dropped a pretty important detail. If they have levels, it probably means some skills are useless until you grind them up.

So far, nobody had made a scene at the summoning or the appraisal. Maybe they were just going with the flow like typical Japanese people, or maybe they were as excited as I was. As long as things kept moving, it didn't matter to me.

Finally, it was my turn. Come on… give me a little cheat skill!

 …Huh?

 —

 Summary:

Daisuke and a group of others are summoned to the Kingdom of Maaultasche. They meet the Prime Minister and his daughter, Martina, before undergoing an appraisal ceremony. While others receive high-tier classes like Hero and Sage, Daisuke is shocked to receive the absurd class of 'Onanist.'

 —

 Trivia:

 - The term 'Maultasche' is actually a German meat-filled dumpling, hinting at the author's naming convention for the kingdom.

 - Martina's sharp glare suggests she might have a skill related to mind-reading or intuition.

 - Osamu's physical appearance improved significantly upon rejuvenation, fixing his 'barcode' hair.

 - Ina-shi's name changed to 'Otto' during summoning, which is referred to as a 'soul name.'

 - Daisuke has average stats (10s) across the board compared to the Hero's 17-20 range

 —

 Character Insight:

Daisuke initially maintains a shallow, hopeful outlook focused on potential s*xual encounters in this new world, but his ego is immediately crushed by his class assignment. Martina transitions from a polite facade to a cold, efficient instructor.

 —

 Behind the Scenes:

The author uses standard isekai tropes (appraisal, high school heroes) only to subvert them with the protagonist's crude and useless-sounding class.

 —

Notes:

• Fritz Gilman – Fritz Gilman, also known as ‘The Candy of Maultasche,’ is the 51‑year‑old Marquis and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Maaultasche. Plump, he wears expensive, refined attire. He has three wives and seven children, presenting a doting, sweet façade while secretly a cold, fierce strategist formerly called the ‘Ogre Prime Minister.’ He summoned the Hero.

• Martina – Martina Gilman, seventh and youngest child of the Gilman family and daughter of Fritz Gilman, is known as “The Lash of Maultasche.” A prodigy and designated successor to the Marquisate and Prime Minister, she presents a quiet public persona but possesses a fierce temperament. She instructs summoned beings, wears high‑slit cheongsams, and rivals the Home Secretary who secured Yuko’s apprenticeship.

• Gilman – Legitimate heir of the Gilman Marquisate and the next Prime Minister. Level 27. Possesses a hidden sadistic streak and high combat ability. Uses a whip for discipline. Daughter of Fritz Gilman. A beauty with sharp sanpaku eyes and a slender but curvaceous build. Acts as the instructor for the summoned individuals.

Analytical yet prone to spoiling companions, he resides in a Beunemünde rental house, currently focused on crafting gear and leveling his party in the Royal Capital.
