Volume 6 Chapter 17 Apology

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Yellow Day-it feels like a Sunday.

I spent the morning cleaning the new house. For lunch, I’m on a date with the three girls from Gale.

”Sorry to keep you waiting,” Juliet said.

”Sorry for the wait, Daisuke,” Ines added.

”Hello, Daisuke-san! ♪” Sylvie greeted me.

”Hey everyone. You all look beautiful today,” I replied.

Juliet, who had her first time with me the other day, seems like her usual self. Since we’re eating at a normal restaurant today, she’s in her typical active wear. The sight of her bare legs stretching out from those hot pants is dazzling. Ines and Sylvie are also in their usual casual outfits.

Until recently, Ines was my only lover, so she always had the “reserved seat” next to me. Today, Sylvie and Juliet have claimed my arms from both sides.

”Juliet-san and I are first today! ♪” Sylvie said.

”Ines, it’s a rotation, remember?” Juliet asked.

 ”I suppose so.”

”If only Daisuke had a third arm…” Ines mused.

”That’s a tall order for a human like me,” I replied.

 ”Hehe, I’m just kidding.”

Ines isn’t really the type to joke around, so for a second, I thought she was serious. Even with my Transformation Skill, I can’t exactly sprout a new limb. Growing bone is impossible.

By the way, since there are races with three or more arms, saying something like “having more than two arms isn’t human” qualifies as a racial slur¹. I have to watch my mouth.

After enjoying a quick shopping trip, we head to a chic cafe-restaurant for lunch. Before I forget, I need to make my “Vow.”

I don’t want anyone else overhearing, so I use Wind Magic to create a soundproof barrier.

”This is important, so I’m doing it now,” I said. “I ‘Vow’ to the Gods that I will never betray Ines or Sylvie. I will never run away from them, and I will protect them both until the day our hearts truly part.”

”Whoa… you’re really making a ‘Vow’ for us,” Ines said.

”I didn’t think you were lying, but this is still a shock,” Sylvie added.

”And I told him not to do it so lightly,” Juliet said, looking exasperated.

It was the same Vow I’d made to Juliet. They were both surprised, but since they’d heard about it from Juliet beforehand, it wasn’t a total shock. Juliet, having already received hers, just looked at me with a sigh.

”Daisuke, I’m happy you Vowed… but are you sure?” Ines asked.

 ”About what?”

”You’re going to get even stronger from here on out. You might even become a noble. If you have a half-rate partner like me by your side then, I’ll just be a nuisance.”

Ines looked lonely even while she was worrying about my future.

”I figured my time with you was… if not a fling, then at least just something temporary. That it couldn’t be helped.”

Sylvie and Juliet nodded. Apparently, they felt the same way.

 ”Ines… come here a second.”

”I don’t mind, but… what is it?” Ines asked.

I pulled her close and gave her cheek a playful squish.

squish

 ”Daif-kay…?”

”I told Juliet this too, but I know how heavy a ‘Vow’ is,” I said. “I’m seriously in love with you, Ines. I’m not going to throw you away just because my social standing changes.”

I looked her in the eye. “No matter what happens, I’ll protect you to the end. Do you… not want to be with someone like me?”

”…No, of course not. I love you. I’m sorry I doubted you.”

I let go of her cheek and pulled her into a proper hug. She squeezed back hard. The pressure of her breasts against me is truly magnificent.

”Sylvie and Juliet, I feel the same way about you. How about you two?”

”I’m so happy! ♪” Sylvie said.

 ”…I’m happy too,” Juliet added.

Sylvie threw herself at me first, followed by Juliet. I was officially surrounded by three beauties. Sylvie was beaming as usual, her Elf ears twitching-a sign she was in an exceptionally good mood. Juliet’s cat ears and tail were also swaying happily.

She’s finally starting to be honest with her words. We’ve only just started dating, but I can really feel us making progress.

* * *

I decided to invite them to live in the house I bought yesterday.

”I finally saved up enough, so I bought a house yesterday,” I said.

 ”Oh! Congratulations!” Ines said.

 ”That’s wonderful! ♪” Sylvie added.

”Owning a house in the Royal Capital… that’s impressive,” Juliet said.

”Thanks. So, you three are still living out of an inn, right?”

”We are,” Sylvie replied. “I’m an adventurer, and since I just left my village, I hadn’t really thought about settling down.”

”Juliet and I have lived here for about four years, but we can’t seem to save up much,” Ines added. “Maultasche is a nice city, though. I wouldn’t mind settling here eventually.”

”We’d still need to save a ton of money first,” Juliet said.

”Right. So, if you three are okay with it… do you want to move in with me?”

”Wait, what?! Into your house?” Ines asked. “I mean, I don’t mind… actually, I’d love to be with you, but what about the other two?”

”I’m fine with it! ♪” Sylvie said. “Based on when we spoke the other day, I think I’ll get along great with Liese, Camilla, and Ilse.”

”…I’m worried because Daisuke is such a pervert,” Juliet cut in. “You did it to Sylvie, and you even made me do those pervy games²…”

”Oh? I thought it was great,” Sylvie said. “And weren’t you looking pretty happy yourself, Juliet-san? ♪”

”Hey! You don’t have to say that!”

”She’s right, Daisuke,” Ines said. “Juliet’s just embarrassed.”

 ”Ines, you too?!”

Teased from both sides, Juliet’s tail fluffed up in mock anger. Ines and Sylvie were clearly on board, but Juliet was being her usual contrarian self.

”Juliet, do you hate the idea of living with me?” I asked.

”…It’s not that I hate it. If you’re going to insist on it, I guess I’ll consider it.”

”I really want to live with you, Juliet. Please?”

”…Fine. I guess I have no choice,” she replied.

”Hehe. Now the three of us can stay together,” Ines said.

”Yes! Life is going to be so much fun! ♪” Sylvie added.

Classic Juliet dere. The other two stopped teasing her and shared in the joy. With their approval, our life together is about to begin. I can’t wait.

Still, with the headcount increasing so suddenly, it might be hectic at first. I have no intention of changing how I treat my slave girls, so I’ll have to ask the girls to let things continue as they have been. Most of all, I’m curious about our “night life.” Ever since I took Camilla in, I’ve slept with her every night. From now on, I’ll likely be spending the night with one of these three. I don’t plan on doing anything right in front of Camilla, so I’ll have to talk her into sleeping with someone else.

* * *

The Gale party decided to move in this evening, so they went back to pack. I offered to use my Item Box, but apparently, they’re embarrassed to let me see all their stuff. I don’t think it’s a big deal, but I’m not going to force them. I’ll go pick them up later. Until then, I’m heading to the library.

Since the house cleaning isn’t finished, I’m alone today without Camilla. The interior is done, but the garden is so huge that I just can’t seem to finish it. Before leaving, I told the slave girls about the three of Gale moving in. They seemed to have hit it off during their last visit, so no one seemed to mind.

I arrived at the library and greeted Clarissa-san.

 ”Hello, Clarissa-san.”

 ”Ah-Daisuke-san!”

Usually, Clarissa-san is calm and soft-spoken, but she let out a rare, panicked exclamation. Does she need a favor? I’ll give her a discount! She jogged over from the counter and immediately bowed her head deep.

 ”Whoa! What’s wrong, Clarissa-san?” I asked.

”I was so incredibly rude the other day…”

I immediately used Dark and Wind Magic to wall us off. I didn’t know why she was doing this, but I knew I shouldn’t let people see her like this.

She kept her face down so I couldn’t see her expression. It seemed she was apologizing for our date last week. She’d been a little drunk, but I didn’t remember her doing anything unpleasant. If anything, she’d clung to me and kissed my neck, which just made me a little horny.

”I showed you such a shameful, drunken side of myself… acting so familiar, grabbing your arm, even kissing you…” she said. “I am so sorry for making you feel uncomfortable.”

”Really? I wasn’t uncomfortable at all,” I replied. “I thought you were cute when you were drunk, Clarissa-san.”

”…I appreciate your kindness, Daisuke-san, but a drunken display from an older woman³ like me is nothing but unsightly. Especially a kiss… you must have been disgusted. I am truly, truly sorry.”

Clarissa-san looked up for a moment, then bowed again. Her face was pale. She looked more pained than embarrassed. She has a real complex about her age, so the fact that she got drunk and made a move on someone younger clearly feels like a source of deep shame.

For comparison, Gerta is older than Clarissa, and she’s a total disaster when she drinks. When we meet at the guild and go for drinks, she always s*xually harasses me. Simple touching is fine, but she’ll start fiddling with my d**k or n**ipss through my clothes. Usually, the drinking session ends early so we can head straight to a motel. I guess that’s just how “rough adventurer” types are.

Regardless, I couldn’t stand seeing Clarissa-san look so miserable. Especially since it was all based on a misunderstanding. I had to clear it up fast.

”Clarissa-san, look at me,” I said.

 ”…Yes.”

”I don’t mind-honestly, it actually made me happy. You don’t need to apologize.”

 ”But… it’s a fact that I kissed you,” she replied. “I can’t just let it go…”

”It was just a kiss on the neck. Don’t let it eat at you, okay?”

 ”…Okay.”

Man, her complex is deep. This isn’t working. She looked up, but her expression was still dark. Even through her makeup, I could see the dark circles under her eyes. Words weren’t enough. If I gave her a “reconciliatory hug,” maybe she’d realize I wasn’t angry.

”Alright. I accept your apology,” I said. “But I want something in return as a peace offering. Come here.”

”Thank you… Is this alright?” Clarissa asked.

”Yeah. Excuse me for a moment.”

I pulled her into a hug. She was stiff-likely from the self-loathing. I don’t think it was just because it was a surprise attack hug.

”Is this… just your usual hug?” she asked.

”Yeah. Though it’s the first time I’ve been the one to start it.”

”I suppose so. But this doesn’t feel like enough of an apology…”

Still not convinced. Alright, this is a gamble, but it should clear up the misunderstanding once and for all. If it fails, I’m doing a full dogeza.

”If you’re going to insist, can I ask for one more thing?” I asked.

 ”Yes, anything.”

 ”Can I kiss you?”

”Eh? A kiss? Why?” she asked.

”Because I like you, Clarissa-san, and I want to kiss you,” I replied. “Of course, if you hate the idea, you can turn me down.”

Using a kiss to apologize for a kiss is weird logic, but that’s exactly why it proves I didn’t hate it. In my previous life, this would just be s*xual harassment, but here? Hugs and kisses are common enough in the streets. It all depends on her affection level.

”I don’t… hate it,” Clarissa said. “But is that really enough?”

”Yeah. Like I always say, you’re a wonderful woman, Clarissa-san. You’re my ‘ideal older sister.’ Is that a no?”

”…A mere librarian like me is no match for a B-Rank adventurer like you, but… I think you’re a wonderful person, Daisuke-san. If you’re really okay with it, I have no reason to say no.”

”Thank you. Then, don’t mind if I do,” I said.

I pulled her close again and kissed her. Her lips were soft and plump, and her body felt light and fluffy in my arms. She closed her eyes and accepted the kiss, hugging me back a little tighter than usual. Kissing in the silence of a library felt a bit sinful. She looked exhausted, so I quietly cast my “Fatigue Recovery Set (Provisional)” on her.

 ”Nn…”

 ”…How was that?” I asked.

”…My heart is pounding. I feel… very warm now.”

 ”I’m glad.”

She didn’t look like she hated it at all. The gloom in her face had lifted. I gave her one last squeeze and stepped back.

”Alright, that’s the end of the ‘apology,’ then,” I said.

”Daisuke-san, thank you so much,” Clarissa replied.

”Don’t mention it. I wanted to do it. Let’s keep being close, okay?”

 ”Yes.”

”Oh, I forgot one thing,” I said.

 ”What is it?”

”I’ll always welcome a kiss from you, Clarissa-san.”

”Oh, honestly, Daisuke-san… but thank you.”

She finally gave me her usual smile. That’s the look that suits her best. I’m glad the gamble paid off.

I spent the rest of the day researching until closing time. Clarissa-san walked with me toward the exit.

”Alright, time for the usual,” I said.

 ”Yes.”

Our goodbye ritual: a hug from Clarissa-san. She held me softly, though she still felt a little stiff. She must still be thinking about it.

”Clarissa-san, remember what I said earlier?” I asked.

 ”About… always welcoming a kiss?”

”Exactly. I still mean it. Can I?”

She looked surprised for a second, but when she realized I was serious, she smiled and kissed me. She looked genuinely happy-I’m sure of it.

”Thank you,” I said. “Let’s make the kiss part of the ritual from now on.”

 ”Yes! ♡”

With a beaming Clarissa-san seeing me off, I headed home. I think we got even closer today than we did on our actual date last week. Well, I guess that’s just how it goes sometimes.

 —

 Summary:

Daisuke goes on a date with the Gale party and solidifies his commitment to Ines and Sylvie through a formal ‘Vow’. He invites the three girls to move into his newly purchased house, which they eventually accept despite Juliet’s initial hesitation. Later, he visits the library and reconciles with Clarissa, who was plagued by guilt over her drunken behavior. The two share an intimate moment and a kiss, strengthening their bond beyond a simple librarian-patron relationship.

 —

 Trivia:

 - The protagonist’s mention of ‘racial discrimination’ regarding extra limbs suggests a modern moral framework being applied to fantasy race dynamics.

 - The ‘Vow’ being a magically or divinely significant event hints that breaking it would have severe plot consequences.

 - Clarissa’s dark circles under her eyes suggest her emotional distress was severe enough to affect her health.

 - The mention of Gerta’s drinking habits contrasts with Clarissa’s, highlighting that Clarissa’s ‘shame’ is purely internal and based on high personal standards

 —

 Character Insight:

Ines moves from a state of insecurity to one of belonging after Daisuke’s ‘Vow’. Juliet begins to drop her tsundere facade, admitting she wants to live with him. Clarissa’s relationship shifts from professional/patron to a burgeoning romantic interest as she accepts Daisuke’s advances.

 —

 Lore And Worldbuilding Context:

Introduction of the ‘Vow’ as a formal pledge to the gods. Established that even with Transformation skills, growing new bones/limbs is impossible. Revealed cultural attitudes toward non-humanoid limb counts.

 —

 TL Notes:

The term ‘Toshima’ was localized as ‘older woman’ to reflect her self-perceived age-gap shame. ‘Amanojaku’ was implied through Juliet’s contrarian behavior. ‘Desu/masu’ shifts in Daisuke’s inner thoughts were treated as narrative asides.

 —

 Glossary:

¹ In-world cultural etiquette regarding poly-limbed races.

² A reference to previous s*xual interactions; ‘play’ is written as ‘Rei’ in a pun-like fashion.

³ The original text uses ‘Toshima’, a term for a woman past her ‘prime’, reflecting Clarissa’s age complex.

A formal kowtow or prostration to show deep apology or request.
