While sharing information with Takaizumi and the others, we got a new eyewitness account.
”Before meeting Hyakudou, I saw the president and the others from a distance.”
The student president, Furumatsuri Kamine.
She was a perfect superhuman, well-liked, and very disciplined, so the teachers trusted her. She was more rational than anyone else, even Kashiro respected her. Being half-foreign with long blonde hair, she looked stunning. It’s no wonder Kadora wanted to get close to her.
”Did you not contact her?”
”Well… strangely, she disappeared quickly. She must have used some kind of magic to move, but I don’t know the details.”
Movement magic… no, it’s too early to jump to conclusions. It’s better to check the area and look for clues.
”Do you remember where you saw her?”
”Yeah. It’s not far, I can show you.”
Since Takaizumi kindly offered to guide us, I decided to have Mayuki and Kashiro join me, and the 4 of us went to investigate.
As we walked around the area where the sighting happened, looking for clues, Mayuki suddenly called out.
”Look! There’s a wiggly mushroom!”
”Don’t touch that with your bare hands!”
”Ah… It’s a poison mushroom, so I think I should go back to base and get healing magic.”
No good. Mayuki isn’t cut out for searching. I should give her simpler tasks. Just as I was about to tell Mayuki to throw away the mushroom, I heard──
”Help me!”
A bright, somewhat carefree voice called out. Grabbing the handle of the Battle Axe I carried, I checked to see in which direction the voice came from.
A small female student was flying in the sky while causing a violent storm to arise. She seemed to be asking for help, but the strong wind made her a danger herself.
”President is attacking us! Kokona is in big trouble and I’m in big trouble too!”
While supporting the unsteady Kashiro because of the strong wind, I shouted back.
”First, do something about this wind!”
Takaizumi stabbed the Holy Sword into the ground, and Mayuki used ice magic to freeze her feet to the ground to hold on, but both of them couldn’t even open their eyes. I could somehow check the situation around me, but because the wind was blowing up Kashiro and Mayuki’s skirts, that was all I could see… or rather, that was the only place my eyes were drawn to.
”I’m sorry! But if I hold back the wind, the shadow magic will──!”
Before I could finish, a new intruder appeared. It came out from Takaizumi’s shadow, targeting the small girl student who causeing a violent storm──Touka Kaede.
I quickly threw my Battle Axe to block the path of the girl who appeared from the shadow. The Battle Axe cut through the wind and passed right in front of her…and she turned her gaze towards me. After silently staring at me as if analyzing the situation, the girl slowly slipped into my shadow. What a creepy ability.
”Hyakudou! Thanks, but Kokona is! Kokona is in danger!”
”I get it, so calm down for a moment. If you guide me, I’ll help, so stop shaking me.”
Touka landed next to me, her long hair flying around as she desperately tried to pull me along.
”I’m going to fly, so follow me! …Wait, why isn’t my wind magic working on Hyakudou?!”
I put away my Battle Axe and took out my Halberd.
”Kashiro, call the Class Rep. And after that, please collect the Battle Axe.”
After confirming that Kashiro nodded, I moved with Touka using wind magic. It seemed like she could freely control the wind and fly through the sky. It looked like we could move as a group too, as Takaizumi and Mayuki were following behind us.
”Over there! Kokona is over there!”
Just as she said, Kinusawa Kokona was fighting in an open area on the ground. Without thinking, Touka made everyone dive down── we all crashed to the ground together with a thud.
”Hey…”
I managed to get up while holding back the pain. It suddenly got quiet, and I noticed Touka next to me seemed to have passed out. I really thought… what an idiot.
”The Hero is dead.”
Mayuki, looking calm, got up and stared at the unconscious Takaizumi. I didn’t feel like blaming the Hero right now. It was clearly Touka’s fault, so just sleep peacefully. And why does Mayuki look so relaxed? I was in a lot of pain.
”Hyakudou Koushi…”
The girl who disappeared into my shadows just now whispered my name. It seemed she could move freely from shadow to shadow, and now she was attacking Kinusawa.
”What’s the student council president’s shadow doing here?”
Amaarai Sayo. She was a friend of the student council president, a quiet girl with a cold vibe. She had her hair tied back in a single ponytail and was tall for a girl. She looked like a slender beauty. I remembered she was in the basketball club. She was good at sports and even attracted attention from other girls.
”…”
Amaarai didn’t seem interested in talking to me and slipped back into the shadows again. I stayed alert for a while, but there was no sign of her coming back.
”Kinusawa, what happened?”
I called out to Kinusawa, who had a bow on her back. Kinusawa Kokona. She was a beautiful girl with a gentle vibe, and her half-up braided hairstyle suited her well. Even in this situation, she didn’t seem flustered and kept her cool. Being the captain of the archery club, she probably had a strong sense of calm.
”Well… I’m not sure. When I first met on this island, there was already something intense about it.”
Is she being controlled by some mental magic again?
The princess has joined us, and we defeated the Succubus. If she was controlled by the Succubus, she should be back to normal like Takaizumi and the others.
”Well, whatever. Right now, I have 2 bags, so let’s change places quickly.”
Looking at the unconscious Takaizumi and Touka, I felt like sighing. Carrying both of them around is such a hassle. I should just go back to the Base and ask Hiiragi for help.

After getting the two healed with healing magic, I teleported Takaizumi to his Base. Tadahara and Tsurué should be able to handle things from there. It seems Tsurué is worried about Takaizumi and decided to keep an eye on him.
As for Touka, I left her care to the Class Rep who joined us. The Class Rep looked relieved that her 2 best friends were okay and kept thanking me over and over. I didn’t really do anything special, so I didn’t feel like I deserved the thanks.
”…What’s up?”
After inviting the two girls to the Base and taking a breather in the Living Room, Kinusawa was smiling at me. I felt a bit uncomfortable not knowing what she was thinking.
”Harin really trusts you a lot.”
”Really? I thought the Class Rep didn’t like me.”
”She’s not very straightforward.”
Kinusawa had a somewhat mature smile. It felt like a beautiful smile that didn’t match her age.
”By the way, Kinusawa, is your magic related to archery?”
”I did inherit a bow and arrow, but it’s not related to my magic. The magic I received from the gods is crushing magic.”
Just hearing the name sounds powerful. It doesn’t seem to fit her gentle personality.
”Thanks to this magic, if I hit, it ends in one shot. It’s quite interesting…”
Kinusawa was happily talking about her Magic. Surprisingly, she seems to be fitting in well on this Island. She hasn’t really gotten hurt and seem to be doing fine, maybe she has got a strong ally now?
I was feeling a bit uneasy because Takaizumi and the others seemed kind of unreliable, so having a powerful teammate would be a big help. Touka’s Magic will probably be useful in the fight against Dragons too, so I definitely can’t let these two get away.
