Volume 2 Chapter 10 Dungeon Sightseeing & The Black Goat’s Secret

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”Nn… where is…?”

Takanashi Hirose slowly peeled his eyelids open. A vast, azure sky stretched out above him. But this wasn’t the artificial sky of the strange dimension he had seen just moments ago. No, this was the sky of Japan. The real world.

 ”Hirose! Hirose!!”

 ”Wah…”

Still reeling from confusion, he was suddenly jolted back to reality by a soft, heavy impact. Someone had thrown their arms around him, squeezing tight. It was Rindou Hibiki.

”Thank goodness… oh, thank goodness…” she sobbed into his chest.

 ”Hibiki… Good morning.”

Hibiki wept with sheer relief. Hirose, wanting to confirm she was real and safe, wrapped his arms around her and returned the embrace gently.

As he looked around, he saw Kushima Koharu and Kirino nearby. Other adventurers and participants were there too, scattered across the grass.

Shinjuku Gyoen.

This was where the Dungeon Gate had been. But now, the Gate was gone. Vanished without a trace.

Memories began to trickle back. The dungeon sightseeing tour. The snow world. The photo session in front of that mystical tree. The descent from the hill. Then the avalanche blocking their path, the failure of the escape scrolls, and finally, that sudden gust of wind—

 ”That’s right…”

”Hirose, it’s okay. I don’t remember much after a certain point either, but everyone is safe,” Hibiki reassured him, wiping her eyes.

”Is that so? That’s… that’s great.”

Listening to Hibiki’s explanation, he grasped the situation. But something felt off. Beside the adventurers and participants, a crowd of strangers was swarming the area.

”…When we woke up, we were outside. And three men were lying there, tied up and unconscious,” a voice explained.

”Is that so? I never imagined something like this would happen… We must interrogate these men thoroughly.”

The blonde beauty, Housaka Mizuki, was speaking with three men in suits. Behind them stood a group in uniforms—Guild staff and police officers.

 ”Guild staff and police?”

”Those three tied up over there are the culprits,” Kirino said, stepping closer.

”It seems Housaka-san is speaking on everyone’s behalf regarding the incident,” Koharu added.

Hirose looked at them. Neither Koharu nor Kirino appeared injured.

”I’m just glad you two are safe…”

”It is very like you, Hirose-kun, to worry about us first,” Koharu teased gently.

”Thank you. We are unharmed,” Kirino replied with a polite bow.

Koharu and Kirino did not say more. They knew some things were better left unsaid. Waking up before Hirose and Hibiki, they had agreed to keep the truth of the battle hidden.

 But Hirose sensed it anyway.

”You two probably saved us, didn’t you? …Thank you.”

 ”Hirose-kun…”

 ”…Yes.”

They didn’t know how to answer. Without Kirino, they couldn’t have handled the Minotaur Lord. Without Koharu’s barrier, everyone would have perished. But Hirose didn’t need to know the terror of that near-death experience. They would simply accept his gratitude.

Once Mizuki finished talking, the Guild staff and police began checking the roll call.

 ”—Hi-Hidou Kirino-san?!”

 ”Yes, that is me.”

The staff members, men in their twenties and thirties, reacted with shock, much like Fuyutsuki had once done. Kirino’s name was famous, largely because her grandfather, Hidou Genroku, constantly chanted about how cute she was to anyone who would listen.

”I thought my heart would stop! If something happened to Kirino-san here…”

”B-But, with this, the Chairman himself might move to capture the criminal group—”

”—No. Please do not tell my grandfather,” Kirino interrupted firmly.

”Why not?! This isn’t just your problem, Kirino-san. It’s a problem for all adventurers!”

”I am aware. However, if he finds out, he will focus only on that. The Guild has other work to do. I do not want him to neglect his duties for my sake.”

 ”That is… well…”

Her argument was sound, but the situation was grave. They hesitated.

”Besides, the criminal group might be dealt with regardless.”

 ”Eh?”

”Please wait just one week. If it is not resolved by then, you may use my name.”

 ”…Understood.”

After Kirino’s questioning, everyone was allowed to go home. As they left, Mizuki and the officials kept muttering the phrase “Black Goat,” though neither Hirose nor Hibiki had a clue what it meant. 1

Hibiki clung to Hirose the entire way home. She apologized repeatedly, but Hirose just comforted her, telling her the dungeon tour had been fun.

”—Excuse me. Is there someone named Yaginuma Asami here?”

A few days after the dungeon incident, Hidou Kirino visited a first-year classroom alone after school.

 ”Be-Beautiful…”

 ”That’s the rumored Hidou-senpai…”

 ”H-Hey, wait a minute! A-Asami-chan! You’re being called!”

The appearance of the school’s top beauty stunned the first years. But the shock doubled when they realized her business was with Asami.

 ”Ah, abah…”

Asami shuffled in front of Kirino, fidgeting, her face bright red. The class held its breath at the meeting of two beautiful girls.

 ”So beautiful…”

 ”How divine.”

 ”A collaboration of goddesses…”

 Whispers flew around the room.

”I apologize for calling you out so suddenly. We cannot talk here, so let us move.”

 ”Un-Understood…!”

The two moved to the rooftop. It was deserted.

 ”Ah, aba… w-what business do you have…”

Asami was nervous enough with Hirose, but being alone with Kirino was overwhelming. She was too dazzling; Asami’s eyes darted around, unsure where to look.

”Asami-chan. I will ask you directly—you are the ‘Black Goat’ who saved us the other day, aren’t you?”

 ”Abah?!”

Asami’s jaw dropped in genuine shock. She clearly hadn’t expected to be caught. That reaction alone was a confession.

”It goes without saying… doesn’t it?”

 ”N-N-No, it’s wrong. I don’t know any Black Goat.”

”It is fine. I do not intend to tell anyone. I simply want you to cooperate with me a little.”

Asami’s flustered movements stopped dead at Kirino’s words.

 ”Co… operate?”

”I am talking about the man named Hosoya. You were the one who tied him up, correct?”

 ”…”

”Unless we crush the entire organization, they will likely affect us again somewhere down the line.”

”B-But… they weren’t specifically targeting Senpai and the others…” Asami mumbled, inadvertently revealing she knew the details.

”Even so. …Please, Asami-chan. For the sake of our peaceful future—yours included—please.”

Kirino bowed her head deeply. Asami panicked again, looking around wildly, worried someone might think she was bullying the upperclassman.

 ”I won’t… kill anyone.”

”We will simply restrain them and hand them over to the police and the Guild.”

 ”…”

 ”Asami-chan…”

 ”Abah… O-Okay, I understand.”

 ”Th-Thank you very much!”

Kirino’s desperate plea had won. A cooperative relationship was born.

 ”Th-Then—please wear this.”

 ”Eh? Th-This is…”

From her ‘Storage’ space, Kirino pulled out a deer mask. It looked like something a comedian would use for a skit. It had no magical effects; it was just a mask.

Confused, Kirino pulled it over her head. Visibility was surprisingly good.

Asami then pulled on her own Black Goat mask. In an instant, her atmosphere shifted completely.

 ”—We’re going.”

Asami extended her hand to Kirino, signaling she was ready.

 ”N-Now?! —Kyaa?!”

The moment Kirino took her hand, ‘Teleportation’ activated, and the two vanished from the roof.

 ”—Hosoya’s report is late.”

Inside a dim, inorganic building, a man slammed his fist on a desk. THUD.

He had a two-block haircut with shaved designs. He sat in the only chair, exuding the aura of a boss, while several men stood around him.

”How many days has it been?”

 ”It’s been three days, Boss.”

”It’s a complete failure, ain’t it? We prepared all that, so how the hell did they mess up?”

The Boss couldn’t hide his irritation, his leg shaking nervously. A snake tattoo was visible on his left arm.

The Snake Sky Guild. 2

That was the name of their criminal enterprise. On the surface, they were a Guild with many B-Rank adventurers, led by an A-Rank Boss. But in the shadows, they took dirty jobs—even murder. They used dungeons to hide their crimes.

 ”Dammit…”

The Boss spat as he looked at a photo of a target with light green hair. Just then—

CLACK. The entrance door swung open, letting light spill into the room.

 ”Did Hosoya finally come ba—”

A subordinate turned toward the door. But—

 ”Hah…?”

There stood two figures of different heights, their faces hidden behind the masks of a Black Goat and a Deer. And for some reason, from the neck down, they were wearing school uniforms.

”Is that the boss of the Snake Sky Guild?”

”Yes. Hidou-senpai, you don’t need to do anything. Just watch.”

 ”…Understood.”

The girl in the Black Goat mask stepped forward.

”Oi, oi. Who the hell are you kids? Who said you could come in here?”

 ”…Target designation ‘Detection’… ‘Appraisal’.”

A subordinate stepped forward to block her path. It was meaningless.

BOOM!! A sickening impact echoed.

 ”—Ha?”

The subordinate was suddenly embedded in the wall.

The other men, realizing this wasn’t a joke, drew their weapons. There were about ten of them. They slowly closed in on the Black Goat.

 ”Boss! What do we do!”

 ”Kill ’em! Get ’em all!!”

The battle began—and five seconds later, it ended.

The Black Goat held no weapons. She fought with her bare hands.

”You… do you have a body enhancement Gift? You’re skilled, but… you’re a bad match for me.”

The Boss vanished into thin air.

 ”—This will do.”

The Black Goat didn’t seem to care. She calmly picked up a dagger dropped by one of the unconscious men.

 ”Idiot—”

The invisible Boss had already circled behind her, ready to shred her back with a claw-like weapon.

 ”——”

 The Black Goat vanished.

 ”—Ah?”

Blood trickled down the Boss’s back. The Black Goat was there.

 ”Y-You ba—”

His words were cut short. A bare fist slammed into his head, and he collapsed to the floor with a heavy THUD.

 ”…It’s over.”

Less than a minute had passed since the fight started. Kirino stood there, dumbfounded.

”Th-Thank you. Now, let’s search for the documents, find Kirihara-san… and hand the rest over to the Guild.”

 ”A-Abah…”

* * *

The next day, the news broke.

The famous Snake Sky Guild in Tokyo had been dissolved, and all involved were arrested. Their crimes in the underworld had been exposed.

Kirihara Shinji, a support mage from the Black Wolf Guild who had been held captive in their warehouse, was found in a weakened state but alive. Maki and Hirakawa wept with joy at his return.

It would be a lie to say adventurers never committed crimes. But this arrest sent shockwaves through the industry. Everyone assumed it was the work of the police and the Guild. Only a very select few knew of the two students behind it.

The duo came to be known as the “Black Goat and Blue Deer.” A mysterious adventurer party that appeared like a comet and would soon rocket up to S-Rank.

 ”—Kirino-chan.”

 ”…”

One lunch break, Koharu looked up from a news site on her phone, intending to ask Kirino something. But Kirino pressed a finger to her lips, signaling silence so Hirose and Hibiki wouldn’t notice.

Koharu had vaguely realized it too. That Black Goat girl had a very distinctive verbal tic.

That girl—Yaginuma Asami—was currently sleeping soundly on Hirose’s lap in a blind spot behind the roof entrance.

After finishing her bento, she had asked for a head pat, and when Hirose obliged gently, she had drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

 ”Abah…”

”She’s talking in her sleep… haha.”

 ”It’s true. So cute.”

Hirose and Hibiki adored Asami like a married couple fawning over a child. Seeing this, Koharu decided not to ask Kirino anything more.

 But then, it happened.

Hirose suddenly gasped, mumbling a single phrase.

 ”—I remembered.”

 ”—?!”

At those words, Hibiki, Koharu, and Kirino all stared at him intensely. They understood what the keyword “remembered” meant.

 ”H-Hirose, what did you remember?!”

 ”Hirose-kun!!”

 ”I want to know immediately!!”

The three of them shouted in unison.

 ”Abah?!”

Startled awake by the noise, Asami tumbled off Hirose’s knees and bonked her head on the concrete. She rolled around in agony, teary-eyed.

But it was an emergency. No one was looking at Asami.

They were waiting for Hirose’s words. And the words he unleashed were—

 ”—’Breast Growth’.” 3

 Summary:

In the calm after the dungeon storm, reality bites back! Hirose wakes up to a tearful reunion, but the shadows of the Shinjuku Gyoen incident linger. While the boys recover, the girls take charge in the most unexpected way—Kirino, the elegant ojou-sama, teams up with the shy-but-deadly Asami (a.k.a. the Black Goat) for a secret vigilante raid! Donning animal masks, this unlikely duo crushes the criminal Snake Sky Guild in a dazzling display of overpowered combat. The chapter wraps up with a slice-of-life lunch break that takes a chaotic turn when Hirose unlocks a… rather specific new skill.

 —

 Character Insight:

Yaginuma Asami is a study in extreme contrasts. In the classroom, she is the “Abah…” murmuring, anxiety-ridden kouhai who panics at eye contact. But put a mask on her, and she channels a cold, efficient warrior persona that can dismantle A-Rank criminals in seconds. This Gap Moe (the charm of contradictions) is her core appeal. She doesn’t just fight; she dominates, yet she still needs a lap pillow to recharge. Her dynamic with Kirino suggests a blossoming mentorship—or perhaps just a shared secret that will bind them closer to the main harem.

 —

 Behind the Scene:

This chapter balances the dark undertones of criminal guilds with the lighthearted absurdity of school life. The choice to have Kirino and Asami handle the raid ‘off-screen’ relative to the protagonist allows the girls to shine independently, proving they aren’t just damsels. The masks serve as a literal narrative device to separate their civilian personas from their violence, preserving the ‘wholesome’ school vibe while advancing the plot. The final gag with the ‘Breast Growth’ skill is a classic tonal reset, ensuring the reader leaves with a smile.

 —

 T/L:

1 [Black Goat] A reference to the Lovecraftian entity Shub-Niggurath (The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young) or simply a satanic archetype, contrasting sharply with Asami’s timid nature.

2 [Snake Sky Guild] ‘Hebizora’ or ‘Jakuu’ in Japanese. Snakes often symbolize deceit in Japanese folklore, fitting for a guild that fronts as legitimate but operates in the shadows.

3 [Breast Growth] Original term: Ikunyuu (育乳). A compound of ‘raise/grow’ and ‘milk/breasts’. In the context of gaming skills, it implies a buff or alteration, playing into the series’ ecchi-comedy elements.

Notes:

• Rindou Hibiki – Hirose’s cheerful, bold classmate who is the first to request his Beauty skill. Hibiki (F, pink bob hair, 158cm, F-cup) is outgoing, expressive about her interests, and quickly becomes Hirose’s girlfriend after an explicitly intimate scene. Her reactions help set the adult tone of the story.

• Kirino – Strikingly beautiful with blue long hair (F, 168cm), Kirino is gifted with ice magic and feels isolated because of her appearance. Hirose’s Beauty skill helps her improve her self-image and social comfort, directly affecting Kirino’s relationship with her family and classmates.

• Kushima Koharu – A reserved, literature-loving girl (F, 156cm, G-cup, black braid) who struggles with family problems, including bruises and emotional stress. She experiences dramatic physical and emotional improvements after Hirose’s skill use, revealing a hidden wild side during explicit nighttime encounters.

• Housaka Mizuki – A famous, admired model and A-rank adventurer (F, 18yo, 162cm, long blonde hair, E-cup). With intimidating skills and high appeal, Mizuki complicates Hirose’s situation, representing the broader implications of beauty and strength in-universe.

• Genroku – Kirino’s grandfather (M, 74yo, short white hair, 182cm), president of the Adventurer Guild. Though intimidating, he is deeply caring for Kirino, protecting her throughout the narrative. His character signals the balance of authority and affection.

• Yaginuma Asami – 16-year-old 1st-year, many inherited/stacking gifts, stores items, reflects attacks, teleports, resists conditions, mixed Japanese-English.

• Kirihara Shinji – 24-year-old A-rank adventurer, ‘Barrier’ gift, defense role in Black Wolf Guild, kidnapped by another guild.
