Chapter 102-3 Tsuchimiya vs Asagiri 2nd

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Together with the girl who said she was a messenger of Higurashi, I began a long journey to meet Higurashi.

Despite being attacked multiple times by Himeno’s assassins, we finally reached a small cabin at the foot of Greyvalor Mountain.

There lay Higurashi, bedridden, with Kanon caring for her, and there we witnessed Higurashi’s final moments.

And so, to fulfill Higurashi’s last wishes, the 3 of us──Kanon, the girl, and I──set out once more to meet Himeno.

As the information spread, the images of me and Himeno became clearer.

It was the moment when the fierce battle we were fighting reached its conclusion.

Her Izayoi pierced my shoulder, and the Kondou Spear stabbed into Himeno’s chest.

In that instant, both of our movements froze.

When the Kondou Spear was pulled out, a card that had been pierced by its tip was dragged out with a slurp.

The card, adorned with an old-fashioned illustration of a crowned demon, bore the inscription ‘Demon King.’

The card was connected to Himeno by a white discharge of light, but when forcibly torn away, it burst apart and scattered.

At the same time, Himeno lost her strength and collapsed.

 ”Himeno!”

I threw down the Kondou Spear and lifted the fallen Himeno.

Her wound was deep; without Evold, it would have been fatal.

 ”Tsuchimiya-senpai… I’m sorry… I… didn’t mean for this to happen… I didn’t want this…”

”Don’t talk, Himeno! Damn it! Why! The bleeding won’t stop!”

I poured what seemed to be a potion from ‘Storage’ onto Himeno, but the wound wouldn’t close.

 ”I believed… that Tsuchimiya-senpai would stop me… Thank you… so much…”

Himeno’s face softened as if a burden had been lifted, and she smiled weakly.

But her vitality was rapidly fading from that face.

”Kanon, come here! We need healing magic for Himeno…!”

”It’s fine… it’s too late now… I have no face to show… Just forget about me, Tsuchimiya-senpai, and be happy with everyone else… smile… ah… I’m sorry… I lied after all… Just think of me sometimes, okay, even if it’s just a little…”

Himeno crumpled up, tears on her face… she was exhausted.

 ”Himenooo!!!”

I hugged Himeno, sobbing, and suddenly raised my face to glare at the sky.

At that moment, my eyes met those of my future self, looking down at the scene for sure.

”Hey! Don’t give up! You filthy bastard!!”

 !!

That voice was undeniably a cry of the soul directed at me.

As if propelled by that voice, I abruptly snapped back to reality.

* * *

In front of me stood Himeno, grinning madly, certain of her victory.

The ringing in my ears faded, and slowly time began to move again.

I reassessed the situation, but it was hopeless.

The tip of Himeno’s stick was pointed at my chest, leaving no way to avoid it now.

Before my stick struck Himeno’s left arm, my body would be sent flying.

 Damn it!

Is there anything I can do!

If this continues, I can’t avoid that outcome.

 Don’t give up!

 Think!!

But mercilessly, the ringing in my ears faded, and the speed of the approaching stick increased.

 Not possible!

 Can’t I change this fate!

 Someone, help me!

 Higurashi!!

 ──Double Axel!

 !!!

The moment that voice echoed in my head, I unwittingly activated the blast I had been chanting.

One was behind my right shoulder.

The other was in front of my left shoulder.

 ”Aaaaaaah!!!”

Time resumed all at once, and I shouted as I knocked Himeno down.

The thick stick in my right hand snapped, splinters driving into my palm.

Himeno’s stick, which was supposed to pierce my chest, suddenly cut through the skin of my left breast due to my body spinning.

I could see Himeno’s body bounce on the concrete floor, rolling like a doll.

Upon landing on the ground, I tossed aside the broken stick and rushed to Himeno.

 ”Himeno!”

Something was rising from Himeno’s body, which lay still with its back turned to me.

It looked like a translucent shadow, as if it were made of finely shredded paper.

It swayed gently like a heat haze, floating up and vanishing, reminiscent of a contract burned in a bonfire.

I immediately recognized that it was that card.

I wondered if the reason I couldn’t save Himeno back then was because I had pulled that card away.

 ”Are you okay, Himeno!”

My spine felt cold, and I knelt down to reach out to Himeno.

A dull pain shot through my shoulders, but I didn’t care.

At that moment, Himeno’s shoulders started to tremble slightly.

 ”Ahaha! Ahahaha!”

Suddenly, Himeno burst out laughing, causing me to freeze my hands in shock.

I thought she had gone crazy because of that card, but maybe it wasn’t the case!?

Himeno rolled toward me, then sprang up and lunged at me.

 ”Tsuchimiya-senpai!”

Himeno wrapped her arms around my neck, clinging to me.

”I knew it, Tsuchimiya-senpai is amazing! I misunderstood and got all worked up again!”

Ah… she had said something like that before.

With her strength, it wasn’t entirely a misunderstanding.

Wasn’t it something like, ‘Next time, I’ll be even stronger!’?

Even so, there’s gotta be limits.

”I was being foolish! I thought I could protect Tsuchimiya-senpai… or something? How, haughty of me…”

Himeno’s energy began to wane, and her grip loosened.

”Uh, umm… without thinking too much, it’s not really a joke… right?”

When Himeno looked down and fell silent, she suddenly dove, pressing her head against the concrete ground.

 A dogeza.

”I’m sorry! Th-this time, I truly have no excuse, uh, what should I say…”

It seemed she had returned to her usual self.

As I placed my hand on Himeno’s head, she shivered slightly.

 ”Himeno, lift your face.”

 ”Y-yes…”

Hesitantly, Himeno raised her pale face.

 ”Show me your face properly.”

 ”Yes…”

While it was gradually fading, a little of my future self’s memories still remained within me.

I wonder if this means I was able to save Himeno.

Most likely, that was something that actually happened.

In that world, I couldn’t save Himeno.

 ”Ah… Tsuchimiya-senpai……”

Before I knew it, a single tear spilled from my eyes.

 ”I love you, Himeno.”

As I hugged her tightly, Himeno hugged me back just as strongly.

”I love you too, Tsuchimiya-senpai. I’m really sorry. I won’t hesitate anymore. Asagiri Himeno will follow Tsuchimiya-senpai for life.”

And then, just like that, I was pushed down.

Himeno sat on top of me, took out a recovery spring’s water from her Storage Bag, and skillfully fed it to me mouth-to-mouth while unbuttoning my shirt.

 ”Huh? What are you doing?”

 ”I’m sorry! I can’t hold it anymore!”

”Wait a second!? It’s on the roof!

”No! It’s impossible! Tsuchimiya-senpai is in the wrong!”

Himeno’s lips suck on my nipples.

”Ahhh!? Oh, you! Seriously, wedon’t have the urgency to do it──”

 ”Ah, that’s really annoying.”

 ”What?!”

Himeno looks up and says with a straight face.

The next moment, Himeno’s lips overlapped with my lips, and her long tongue greeted my insides.

 Huh?!

Will the fact that I win or lose will remain the same?

Under the chilly starry sky, I was ravaged by Himeno.
