As I sneaked into the entrance of the boys’ dormitory, I saw a man sitting at the reception window that led to the dormitory office.
He was wearing a military uniform and a black cloak, so he must be someone from the school management committee.
He appeared to be around 50 years old with gray hair mixed with white. He had a sharp gaze, and a large old scar that ran from his forehead to his cheek, crossing his left eye, but his eye was open. He had a sophisticated and mature charm that made me think he must have been quite popular when he was young.
The moment I saw him, a shiver ran down my spine.
This person was unbelievably strong. It felt like our very existence levels were completely different. I have never felt such pressure before.
He must have noticed me, but he kept his gaze down while radiating an intimidating aura around him.
It was really difficult to approach him, but there was no one else around.
Nervously, I approached the reception.
”Excuse me, I’m here to check in. Is it okay?”
When I spoke, the man slowly raised his gaze.
”What? You’re a new resident? You’re pretty bold for someone who just started diving, huh?”
When I was glared at with a menacing look and an unhappy voice, I froze and couldn’t move. It felt like I could be erased with just a flick of a finger, just because of a whim.
”Youngster, if you get too ahead of yourself, it won’t end well. Make sure you don’t end up dancing with bad luck and hardship.”
At that moment, I saw an old Yankee manga opened in the man’s hands.
It was a scene where the protagonist, a former honor student, fights against the leader of a biker gang.
He must have been heavily influenced by it!
”Oh, yes, I’ll be careful. Here are my dormitory identification and player card.”
I don’t know what to do or how to respond. If I laugh or anything, I might get killed.
”Huh? You’re only level 1? How did you… well, I see now.”
I see now? What does that even mean!?
He looked at me as if he could see everything, and smirked.
”Hey, what’s your ‘reason?’”

With that, he threw the card over to me.

”Alright, Room B-203 it is. It was the room I originally used. I’m Tsuchimiya Takeru from Class 2-D, nice to meet you.”
”Oh, I’m the dorm head, Gilford. Call me dorm manager or president, whatever you like.”
No, not the president. Is he planning to turn the boys’ dorm into a delinquent hangout? This guy.
”Okay, Gil-san.”
Gil-san chuckled and placed the room key on the counter before returning to reading his manga. I quietly took the key and changed into slippers before heading to my room.
I climbed the stairs and stood in front of my usual room, opening the door.
Inside the room, everything was gone except for a bunk bed and a desk. I opened the desk drawer, but it was empty.
I wondered if I had left something important behind, but there was nothing of great significance. There was some cash, but it probably wouldn’t be useful. The only thing left was a picture frame of Nyaruko-san. The actual picture is stored on my phone.
I leaned Kondou Spear against the bed and opened the window. In front of me, I could see a forest and an empty tennis court, and beyond that was the reddish-brown wall of the girls’ dormitory. In the background, a majestic mountain range covered in snow towered over the familiar girls’ dormitory, creating a stark contrast that made me laugh. On the inside wall of the boys’ dormitory, there was a large pile of garbage, seemingly discarded items thrown out of the room. It would be impossible to find just one picture frame from there.
Within my visible range, there is no sign of anyone around. I closed the screen door and put away my Kondou Spear in the storage room before leaving the room and locking the door.
I should check the facilities after going to the bathroom. The water is working. Oh, I just realized that the lights are on, so the electricity is working too. The cafeteria doesn’t seem to be popular, and there are no signs of the kitchen being used. Well, that’s to be expected.

I leave the dormitory and pass through the gate, entering a long and narrow park. When I go back home, I used to walk through this park heading north until I reached the main street. Now it’s surrounded by a forest, and the area around the north exit seems to be behind the teleportation facility.
I suddenly became curious and looked to the south. The path twisted and divided into two forks, and the rest of the space was filled with bushes and trees, making it difficult to see through.

Somehow, my feet were pointing towards the south.

Through the trees and bushes, I could see an empty schoolyard behind a chain-link fence. I remember there was an issue with someone taking pictures of girls in their gym uniforms around here.
There are benches placed in the shade of the trees, which seem to be used as a meeting spot for dormitory students, but it’s nothing to do with me.
I wonder if I’ll see the exit soon. As I thought that, I went around the bushes and saw a girl standing in the shade, unexpectedly making eye contact with her from a close distance.
I held my breath and stopped.
The girl wore big round glasses and had long hair divided into two braided pigtails, giving off a serious vibe. Her ribbon and skirt were green, so she must be a third-year student.
She was quite tall, and it was hard not to notice her large chest pushing up against the uniform.
But what surprised me was not that.
The glasses-senpai had a knife in her right hand, soaked in blood, and her pure white left arm was covered in blood.
I stared at the dazzling contrast of white and bright red, frozen and not fully understanding the situation.
The glasses-senpai had a blissful expression, gazing at me with unfocused eyes.
”Hello.”
After a few seconds, The glasses-senpai greeted me. It was an oddly calm, lovely voice.
”Hello.”
I replied expressionlessly as I watched blood drip from senpai’s fingertips. Finally, I realized that this was self-harm.
”You’re bleeding. Are you okay?”
”It’s fine.”
”Are you sure?”
”Yes.”
”…”
It didn’t seem like she particularly wanted help, so I decided to pretend I hadn’t seen anything.
Just as I was about to continue my walk, the glasses-senpai called out to me again.
”Well, you seem pretty calm.”
”Oh, no, I was surprised, you know?”
”Hehe, that’s funny. So, what’s your name?”
”…My name is Tsuchimiya.”
”Tsuchimiya? Oh…”
The glasses-senpai peered into my face and slowly approached. It seemed like she were interested. I hope she doesn’t suddenly attack me or something.
”Hey, you look different from what I heard. I thought you would be more gloomy. “
Seems like my weird rumors have spread quite a bit. Higurashi told me that I look gloomy and that it’s dangerous if I don’t have good visibility, so I had my hair cut off. I haven’t checked it myself yet, but according to Higurashi, my impression has changed quite a bit.

With that smile, she turned her back and walked away.
