Chapter 102 Taking it Easy Once in a While…

I’ve become a second-year university student. My grades for the second semester were all As, with a few A+s mixed in. I’m enrolled in the law course and am aiming for early graduation if possible, so I’m satisfied with these results. The reason things have gone so smoothly so far is thanks to Mr. Ishii from the Watanabe Law Office¹ and Katayama-san, a research student from the Matsunaga Seminar².
For the first semester of my second year, I selected my courses based on advice from those two seniors. The female group at the university, excluding Miura-san, decided to take the same subjects as me. Apparently, Miura-san matched her schedule to her boyfriend, Masashi-san. By the way, Shota followed my lead, but Iwase matched with Masashi-san.
In public, Mayu continues to treat me with the same attitude as before. However, we did go on dates on our way home from university, and I would sometimes ask her how Yuina-chan—the daughter of her mother’s cousin—was doing.
It seems she and Yuina-chan visit each other’s rooms frequently. When Takahashi-san comes over, they apparently all eat together. Yuina-chan has made friends at school, and it seems she, Mayu, and Takahashi-san hold ‘girls’ nights’ with them. Since this is Yuina-chan’s first time living alone and the distance isn’t short enough for her to just pop back home, I was worried she might get homesick, but for now, there don’t seem to be any problems.
”So, since I couldn’t give Hirokazu-san my first time like Manami-san and the others, would it be okay if I gave you my first time… back there? ” Mayu asked.
”What are you talking about?” Hirokazu replied.
”Because, the other day, you tried to put it in, didn’t you?”
”That was just a prank. Besides, that kind of thing seems really difficult, and I don’t want to put Mayu through any pain. I already received your first time inside, so that’s more than enough for me.”
”Even though I researched so much…” she muttered.
”Just the feeling is enough.”
Mayu was worrying about things she didn’t need to concern herself with.
The issue was Kotoha-chan, whom I consulted Manami about.
”I heard there are countries where people kiss as a greeting, so why not just think of it as a greeting?” Manami suggested.
”I’m pretty sure that’s just touching cheeks and making a ‘mwah’ sound.”
”But when you watch movies, aren’t there a lot of scenes where they’re kissing? I wouldn’t worry about that much. If she’ll study for you because of it, then isn’t it fine?”
She said it quite nonchalantly.
”But she says she wants to have sex with me, and she tries to show me her panties just to provoke me.”
I couldn’t bring myself to say that I had promised to have sex with her if she ranked in the top ten of her grade on the tests.
”You’re always looking at my panties, so isn’t it fine if you look at hers? She’s at that age where she’s interested in naughty things. Why not just dodge the subject appropriately? Well, if it’s Kotoha-chan, I don’t really mind if you do it.”
I wasn’t sure how serious Manami was being.
”She’s Watanabe-sensei’s daughter. That’s obviously a no-go.”
”I feel like a kiss will manage things somehow,” Manami said.
I don’t understand the feelings of girls, but if Manami says so, I suppose it’ll be alright.
Despite my lingering unease, the day for my home tutoring session arrived. After finishing dinner at Watanabe-sensei’s house, Kotoha-chan went to her room before the study session as usual, and once the time came, I went to her room.
”Hirokazu.”
Kotoha-chan, who had changed into her school uniform, called my name and then closed her eyes with a face waiting for a kiss, so I kissed her.
”Eh!”
Kotoha-chan placed her hand on her lips, looking stunned.
”Alright, let’s start studying,” I said, sitting down in front of the center table.
Kotoha-chan sat down busily next to me with a beaming smile and opened her math workbook.
Since then, every time I went over and gave her a kiss, she started studying in a good mood. She stopped trying to flip up her skirt to show me her panties like she used to. She also stopped saying anything about sex.
”How did things turn out with Kotoha-chan?” Manami asked later.
”Once I started kissing her, she began studying in a good mood.”
”Just as I thought. I think she just wanted Hiroshi-san to pay attention to her,” Manami replied.
If the problem was solved with just a kiss, that’s good. She might be satisfied for now, but the thought that she might bring up sex again at any time makes my heart feel heavy.
About a month after Yuina-chan moved in, she contacted me saying, ‘Things have settled down, so I’d like you to come visit.’ Since I couldn’t exactly go alone to the apartment of a girl living by herself, I took Manami with me.
The room was neatly organized, and more than anything, I was relieved to see Yuina-chan looking so lively.
”Yuina-chan, is there anything you’re having trouble with?” Mayu asked her.
”Cooking, laundry… housework is tough, but I haven’t had any real problems so far. I’m really starting to appreciate my mom right now. Plus, Mayu-san has been treating me so well, so it’s a big help.”
”If you run into any trouble, contact me immediately. I’ll send Hirokazu-san over right away,” Mayu said.
I think of Yuina-chan like a younger sister, so that wouldn’t be a problem. I’m just concerned about whether it’s okay for me to go alone.
”I’m counting on you,” Yuina replied.
”Are you okay at night? Don’t you feel lonely by yourself?”
”Papa and Mama were always at the inn, so I’m used to it. Besides, Mayu-san comes over sometimes, so it might even be more fun than being back there. Come to think of it, I saw Yuri-san the other day too.”
It seems both Mayu and Takahashi-san struggled when they first started living alone, so with those two around, they should be able to give her plenty of advice.
”Are you free during Golden Week³? We’re having a birthday party for Hirokazu-san at our place, so why don’t you come? Emilia will be back, and Mayu is coming too,” Manami invited.
”I want to go!”
”I’ll contact you with the details later.”
Is there something she can’t say here? I’m curious. Kotoha-chan said she was coming too… so it’ll be me alone with six girls? The number of girls around me just keeps increasing.
