Chapter 51 Elves, So Weak…

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Having successfully rescued the prisoners, we returned to the mansion for the time being. Since we had made it this far, I decided it was safe to deactivate the Enslavement¹. I drained their mana and handed over the neutralizing liquid. The women scrambled to wipe themselves clean, finally letting out a collective sigh of relief.

That was all well and good, but I didn’t have enough space to house several hundred people. On the fly, I used my skills to construct a residential block, something like a modern apartment complex. While the buildings were going up, I expanded the existing massive wooden tables-the kind you’d see at a campground. I whipped up a massive spread using my cooking skills and had the servants dish everything out. As everyone ate, I kept my skill page open, multi-tasking while stealing glances at the women to observe them.

The majority were Elves, though there were a fair number of Dog-kin and Fox-kin as well. I spotted two Wing-kin and a few others whose races I couldn’t identify. They were war prisoners, and their scars were horrific. Some had lost ears or had their noses carved away; it was clear they’d been through brutal torture. It was gut-wrenching.

Most were still wary. Their expressions weren’t full of loathing, but rather utter disbelief. After having their Enslavement dissolved and being brought past the Rock Valley Mountains, they had little reason to doubt me. They just looked baffled, wondering why a human was on this side of the border.

Once the meal was finished, an Elven girl stood before me. Her scars were particularly bad, with a large, jagged gouge across her cheek.

”I apologize for the late introduction,” she said, kneeling. “I am Mari, Vice-commander of the Third Division. I wish to offer my deepest thanks for your assistance.”

”Don’t worry about it,” I replied. “I’m just glad I could get you out safely. Meer and Isaac asked me to look out for you, too.”

 ”Isaac…?” Mari asked. “You mean… the Wing-kin?”

She didn’t seem to know Meer, but she definitely recognized the leader of the Wing-kin. “Yeah. He’s a friend of mine,” I said. At that, the two Wing-kin girls stood up. “He’s a friend of our Chief?” one asked. I took the opportunity to explain our situation to the group.

”It’s an unbelievable story… but there really are fields here,” Mari said, looking a bit lightheaded. “I don’t even know what’s what anymore.”

”You’re exhausted,” I said. “I’ve finished the housing out back. Go get some rest.”

I had summoned a large apartment complex fully equipped with communal baths and fresh clothes. Between the food and a place to sleep, they should be able to find some peace.

”Senpai, you know the layout,” I said to the head maid. “Could you guide them in?”

No one moved. They were all frozen, eyes glued to the massive building that had just materialized.

”Senpai?” I prompted. Kuria gave her a nudge, and the other servants started guiding the former prisoners toward their new home. Finally, it was just me and my wives. I let out a long breath. “I want to head to Isaac’s place tomorrow, so I really wanted to get this settled quickly.”

”They looked like they’ve been through so much,” Fran said, looking downcast.

”You’ve done more than enough by saving them,” Amelia added, squeezing my hand. “They’re adults. You don’t have to do everything for them.”

Maria spoke up with strange confidence. “Don’t worry! I’m sure they’ll be back on their feet in no time. Has there ever been a woman who stayed with Master and didn’t end up smiling?”

 ”Point taken,” Olivia admitted.

I headed down to the basement, telling them I needed time alone. I wanted to finish the magic I’d been developing. In the soundproofed room, I poured mana into the project. Finally, I felt that ‘slipping through’ sensation-the sign of a completed Cheat Skill. I summoned a small orb of light that melted into my chest. I took a small blade, nicked my finger, and focused my mana. The wound closed instantly.

”It’s here!” I shouted to the empty, soundproofed room. I wanted to test it on a real subject, so I headed for the residential block.

In the lobby, four Elven girls were sitting in their provided yukatas. I called out to them. “Hey, I have a favor to ask. You got a minute?”

Mari stood up briskly. “I see… so that’s why you saved us. I’ll do it. Just leave the others out of this.”

”Uh, I’d appreciate the help, but…?”

”Hmph. To say that even after seeing these scars… you certainly have unusual tastes,” Mari replied.

She thought ‘favor’ meant something else entirely. “Alright, sit down here,” I said.

”Wha-?! I told you, just me!”

”Look, is there a problem with just sitting together?” I asked.

”So we’re really just… sitting?” Mari asked, her eyes searching mine.

”Seriously, Commander, you’re being rude,” one of the other Elven girls teased. “He saved us and provided all this.”

”Yeah, exactly! You should be saying ‘look only at me’ instead!”

”Ngh…” Mari muttered, her face turning crimson. “L-look… only at me…”

I reached out, putting my hand around her waist and brushing my fingers against her scarred cheek. “Mari… you ready?”

”You idiot! Doing it in a place like this… how could that be okay?!” she hissed.

I chuckled and focused my mana. As I poured it into her, the jagged scar on her cheek slowly began to fade until the skin was perfectly smooth. “Awesome. It works,” I muttered. Suddenly, a wave of dizziness hit me. I slumped against the table, my head thumping against the wood. The mana depletion left me with zero strength.

”Ah, my bad. I’m out of gas… mind carrying me back to the mansion?”

”What are you talking about all of a sudden?” Mari asked, but the other Elves started shouting. “Commander! Your scar! It’s gone!”

Mari checked her face in the mirror. Seeing her skin restored, she immediately scooped me up in a princess carry. “You’re just out of mana? I just have to get you to your room?”

”Sorry. Used a bit much for a first try,” I nodded.

Instead of the mansion, I was carried into one of the apartment rooms.

”I know what you want,” Mari said, her eyes darting away. “I realize now you weren’t trying to be cruel. So… if you want it, I’ll give it to you.”

”I don’t mind either,” the other Elves announced, crowding into the room.

”Why did you follow us?!” Mari snapped. “I was trying to protect you!”

”Was that really it? Or did you just want him all to yourself?” one asked.

”I’ll leave it up to you,” I said, lying on the bed. “If you really hate the idea, you can leave. But if you’re going to make me feel good, I won’t complain.”

”So… you really did just come here to heal us?” Mari finally realized.

”Yeah. I wasn’t sure if I could erase the scars, so I didn’t want to get your hopes up.”

”I… I see. Thank you,” Mari whispered. As she fidgeted, the other girls, Ries, Asuka, and Ere, crowded onto the bed. “Look, I was going to heal you guys anyway!” I tossed out a clumsy excuse as they began to undress. None of them were wearing anything under their yukatas. I spent the next while being pampered by four slender Elven beauties.

Eventually, my self-control snapped. I launched my counter-offensive.

 ”Magical Thrust²!”

I funneled mana into the skill and went to work. They all hit their limit instantly. They didn’t even last five minutes.

…Wow. They’re such lightweights. I really shouldn’t have used Magical Thrust. Yui was right-it’s not something you should use just because you can.

I sat there dejectedly, looking at the girls twitching and spent on the bed while I was still ready for more. Well, I’ve recovered enough to move. I guess I’ll head back to my wives.

The protagonist returns home with hundreds of rescued prisoners and uses his skills to build a massive apartment complex for them. He successfully develops a new healing magic and tests it on Vice-commander Mari, completely removing her facial scars.  Behind the Scenes:

The author uses the phrase ‘yowa…’ (weak/lightweight) to subvert the usual high-stakes tension of fantasy battles by applying it to the bedroom prowess of a Cheat-enabled protagonist.

 TL Notes:

1 Enslavement: A magical status or contract in this world used to bind prisoners; requires mana drainage and a specific neutralizing liquid to remove.

2 Magical Thrust: A pun-based skill name (Magical Thrust / Majikaru Surasuto) that functions both as a combat technique and, as implied here, an intimate enhancer.
