Chapter 65 To the Royal Capital of Karl

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

We finally reached our destination: the Royal Capital of the Kingdom of Karl.

Since I’d never set foot in this city before, I let Meena take the lead.

She brought us to a sprawling, impressive mansion.

”I was told we could use this as our temporary base,” she explained.

As we stepped out of the car, a group of young servants greeted us with deep bows.

Meena didn’t hesitate, strolling right into the estate with a practiced air.

Apparently, the place came fully staffed.

 Talk about VIP treatment.

We followed her inside and were immediately greeted by my wives, all lined up in a perfect row to welcome us.

”Ibuki-sama, thank you for making the journey,” they said in unison, dropping to their knees and bowing their heads.

The young servants’ eyes nearly popped out of their heads at the sight.

Ah, I see what’s going on.

This was a calculated move—a little bit of theater to make sure the household staff knew exactly who was in charge and didn’t try to get cheeky with me.

”Good to see you all. You’ve worked hard,” Ibuki said.

”It looks like you’ve been doing a great job.”

”Everything we do is by your grace, Ibuki-sama~desuwa,” Erina replied.

I took Erina’s hand as she looked up with a smile, helped her to her feet, and led the group further into the house.

I picked the drawing room for our meeting, but we had so many people that we were absolutely packed.

Even with Lotte and Amelia sitting on my lap, we were bursting at the seams on the sofas.

Yamada, sitting in a single armchair off to the side, looked completely overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the situation.

”I mean, I knew the deal, but… this is pretty insane, right?” said Yamada.

 ”Yeah,” Ibuki grinned.

”My girls are pretty cute, aren’t they?”

”Well, yeah, they’re gorgeous, but that’s not really what I—”

”Haha, coming from the guy who went and pulled a ‘Sister Bowl’ move, that’s rich, Yamada-kun,” Yui cut in.

I ignored the senior as he slumped in his seat from the verbal hit and turned to Erina to get a situation report.

 ”So, what’s the itinerary?”

 ”Yes,” Erina began.

”Normally, this would require a formal audience in the throne room.

However, since we are not subjects of this kingdom, we’ve arranged for the words of gratitude and the rewards to be delivered here in the drawing room.

After that, we’ll attend the formal party.

Now that the three of you are here, the King will naturally have questions, so simply showing up should be enough to move things forward.”

”Right. So we just go with the flow.”

”Who’s on the guest list for the meeting?” Ibuki asked.

”For the drawing room, it will be the three of you, myself, and Rosanna—five in total. For the party, however, everyone will be attending.”

 Hmm.

In that case, those dresses I’d been working on were going to get some use.

I’d made them during the same creative burst when I’d crafted Yui’s.

I pulled them out, each one already displayed on its own mannequin.

”Wait, I-Ibuki-sama… are these for us!?” Erina gasped.

”A gift from me to all of you. You’ll need something special if you’re heading to a royal ball, right?”

Lotte looked up at me timidly.

”Do… do I have one too?”

”Of course. There’s one for everyone. This one is yours, Lotte.”

I went through the line, pointing out which dress belonged to whom, accounting for their specific sizes and styles.

Everyone looked like they were on the verge of tears.

”I’m just glad you like them,” Ibuki said.

”You’re all going to look incredible. I’m expecting big things at the party.”

”Oh… what a breathtaking gown,” Olivia whispered.

 ”Heh, I’m not done yet.”

I used my skill to produce the jewelry I’d crafted and handed them out one by one.

The design was uniform: a delicate mithril chain featuring a cat-shaped pendant carved from a brilliant diamond.

It was the motif for the Sha-sha brand.

”I… I get one too!?” Maria asked.

”Everyone in the Knight Order worked hard. You earned it.”

”But this… this is too much, isn’t it? This has to be worth a fortune!”

”Shuri, if you’re going to worry about that, the dress alone is worth enough to buy a house,” one of the girls chimed in.

”Actually,” Erina corrected, “if either of these were properly appraised, you could probably buy an entire mansion.”

The girls started fussing and flailing, clearly caught between being overjoyed and being terrified of the price tag.

”Don’t worry about the money. Just be happy and wear them,” Ibuki told them.

That finally seemed to settle them, and they showered me with a chorus of thanks.

Yamada leaned over and whispered to me with a look of pure desperation.

”Hey, I’ll help you out with whatever you need, so… could you maybe make something for Ria and the others? I can’t exactly craft a dress myself…”

”Ho? Having the Hero-sama owe me a favor? That’s a good deal. I can manage one outfit for each of them.”

 It made sense.

They’d probably be appearing with Yamada at the party we’d eventually throw at our own castle.

As the companions of the Hero, they needed to look the part.

Plus, having the Hero in my debt was a nice bonus.

”Thank you! Seriously, name your price, I’ll do anything!”

”I’ll hold you to that. Nothing comes to mind right now, though.”

As we were talking, a voice came from the wall where the servants were standing.

 ”Excuse me… I couldn’t help but overhear. Did you just say… ‘Hero-sama’?”

”Ah, yeah. I’m Yamada. I’m technically that guy,” Yamada answered.

 The maid looked floored.

”But… isn’t the Hero-sama supposed to be in the Duchy of Dole?”

I saw Erina’s eyes shift slightly to the side.

 I see what happened.

She wanted to keep his identity a secret until the very last second to avoid a diplomatic headache.

That’s why she’d been using vague terms like “the three of you.”

If she’d just told me, I would’ve kept my mouth shut.

 Oh well.

The cat was out of the bag now.

”Yui and I are also summoned people, so we’re all traveling together,” Ibuki told the maid.

”If it’s a problem, we can step out?”

”N-No! Not at all! My apologies!” the maid stammered.

”However, I must report this to the higher-ups immediately. Is that… acceptable?”

”Yeah, of course. Go ahead. We’re here because these girls are my Knight Order, but I suppose it’s good that the trip won’t be a waste of time for the King, either.”

”Your… Knight Order?” the maid asked.

”Indeed,” Erina said. “Ibuki-sama is our true Lord and Sovereign.”

”I… I see! I shall report this at once!”

The maid bowed so low her head nearly hit the floor before scurrying out of the room.

 ”Was that bad?” Ibuki whispered.

”Not at all,” Erina replied. “Now that we’re actually here, it doesn’t change much. They can’t exactly afford to mistreat the Hero and his companions now, can they?”

”Whoa, look at that wicked face,” Meena muttered.

 ”How rude!” Erina huffed.

That night, even though the number of servants in the mansion suddenly doubled, no one questioned us.

I ended up being squeezed completely dry by my wives, who were all very enthusiastic thanks to the gifts.

Two days later, it was finally the day of the party.

I suited up in my own formal wear and we boarded the carriage provided by the castle.

Inside, Lotte was in a state of pure bliss, giggling and clinging to my arm in her new dress.

The shy, insecure girl I’d first met was gone.

Even though we were heading into the heart of the royal court, she was all smiles.

Amelia, on the other hand, looked like she’d seen a ghost.

 ”You okay?” Ibuki asked.

 ”Yeah, I’m fine…”

 She clearly wasn’t.

 Her face was ashen.

 Olivia spoke up for her.

”Amelia has some history with this castle.

 She used to work here.”

”I see. Well, listen to me: no matter what happens, I protect my wives. You have nothing to worry about.”

I reached out and patted her head.

Amelia stood up, climbed onto my lap, and slumped against me, burying her face in my chest.

I wrapped my arms around her.

”I was falsely accused of a crime here. I fought back… and that’s why I was turned into a slave.”

”I’m scared to go back,” she whispered.

She told me the whole story.

She’d been a village girl scouted for the royal service because of her high-tier job class.

A nobleman had tried to sink his claws into her, and when she refused, he framed her for a crime to force her into being his private slave.

She’d retaliated and exposed his lies, but the court ruled that her vigilante justice within the castle was a crime in itself.

She was sold into slavery, and because the nobility feared her temper, she ended up being sold on the open market.

”It was so unfair. The trial was a sham. They’d already decided I was guilty before I even spoke.”

”I bet. Well, let’s make sure we’re prepared this time, yeah?”

 ”Prepared…?” Amelia asked.

”Yeah. I ran away because I knew I was being set up, too. But look at us now. I’ve been getting ready for this. Do you think we look like we’re in any danger of losing?”

I gave her a sharp, confident smirk.

Amelia’s eyes began to glow with a new light.

 ”Ah… you’re right. Master, you’re amazing!”

”Damn right. So keep your head up.”

Amelia narrowed her eyes and suddenly leaned in, stealing my lips.

After a long, deep kiss, we just stared at each other from inches away.

”Master, I love you so much…” she whispered.

I held her close as the carriage came to a stop.

We were greeted by a woman in exquisite finery, flanked by a long line of waiting servants.

Notes:

• Meena – An 18‑year‑old thief with a youthful, 140 cm frame, she acts as the group’s cheerful messenger and guide in the Royal Capital, familiar with its temporary lodgings. Blunt and observant, she stays upbeat and helpful, though easily overwhelmed by Ibuki’s crafting and dejected when her workload drops, yet remains a resilient, supportive presence.

• Ibuki – Kisaragi, a black-haired, germ-phobic former high-schooler summoned from Earth, is a Level 10 otherworlder and leader of a Demi-human nation. After surviving betrayal by the Duchy of Dole, he now commands his own Knight Order. A master crafter, he uses Synthesis and Inventory to create high-value gear for his companions. He travels the frontier with Charlotte, balancing ruthless combat with a quest for peace.

• Erina – A 17-year-old swordswoman and slave under Ibuki’s contract, this refined former noble retains a drill-haired, elegant appearance. As a composed, slightly mischievous member of the hero’s entourage, she manages the group’s logistics and social standing. Protective of Ibuki’s status, she uses her diplomatic acumen to navigate nobility, even suggesting political marriages to resolve international tensions.

• Amelia – A quiet, white-haired girl with red eyes, she is the smallest yet strongest member of the crew. Formerly a castle servant falsely accused and enslaved, she was reclaimed by Ibuki. Now his loyal CQC bodyguard, she struggles with past trauma but finds happiness in his care. Once robotic, she has become deeply devoted, turning affectionate post-intimacy and striving to repay his kindness above all else.

• Lotte – 12‑year‑old former slave, 130 cm tall, fluffy light‑brown hair, big watery eyes, blue‑clad water/ice mage who’s shy, insecure yet now confident under Ibuki’s care. She’s one of his wives, deeply grateful, and the group’s sensitive little sister who dreams of mastering spells.

• Yamada – A Japanese‑summoned hero bound as a magically enslaved servant in the Kingdom of Dole, he wears armor and wields a sword, his combat skill matches a Knight Commander after intense training. Currently traveling with Ibuki and Yui, he’s the subject of banter about his past and depends on Ibuki for top‑tier gear for his companions.

• Yui – An Earth-born Sage and core member of Ibuki’s party, she balances a gentle, level-headed demeanor with a sharp wit, often teasing Yamada about his past failures. Though she recoils from violence, she is fiercely protective of Ibuki, whom she loves deeply. Her outward composure masks a burning resentment toward human nations and Dole for her past trauma of attempted assassination and enslavement.

• Rosanna – An older ex-slave turned noblewoman, she carries herself with solemn grace and quiet authority, volunteering for intel on dark organizations and keenly spotting the crew’s weakened power levels. Loyal beyond measure, she scouts underground with bowed reverence before missions, exuding confidence in her party’s strength—smiling knowingly during the royal audience, designated to accompany Ibuki to the drawing room, her presence a blend of hardened wisdom and refined poise.

• Olivia – A 160 cm (5’3) archer, eldest of the new recruits, with deep blue‑black hair and a calm demeanor. She asks about “weird” monster types, showing technical/magic‑tech insight, and is awed by Ibuki’s efficiency. Part of Ibuki’s inner circle, she observes her companions’ emotions and knows their pasts.

• Maria – She is a 16‑year‑old swordswoman with long, lustrous red hair and a sharp, dignified face. A new recruit, she serves in the Knight Order under Ibuki’s command and is surprised to be counted among his rewards.

A young girl who accompanies the group, acting as an escort for the Princess. Vice-commander of the Third Division. An Elven woman with blonde hair. Previously had a large jagged scar on her cheek before being healed. Disciplined but shows a flustered, tsundere-like personality when her authority is undermined.

• Shuri – 15‑year‑old tomboy lancer, 170 cm tall with messy blonde hair and a lean, athletic build, worries about the Dole Kingdom’s beef heating up. A blacksmith‑savvy member of the Knight Order, she’s pragmatic, values the high price of Ibuki’s crafted items, and wields a spear with a hands‑on, tough‑chick grind.

• Hero – Ibuki’s upperclassman from Earth—summoned as the naive Hero with emotional, mentally fragile personality. Empathetic yet reluctant and inadequate-feeling, lacking survival instincts and political skills. Currently in despair and terrified by his situation.
