The tremors of breaching A-rank¹ were still rippling through his system. A growth of two centimeters was just the opening act, not the finale. As for how high A-rank could actually push his ceiling, it remained a tantalizing unknown.
In the four months since his ability awakened, Aki had successfully stripped away the “Cuckold Template” that had once defined his existence. His Insight Eye² had allowed him to ditch the black-rimmed glasses, and now that he’d hit A-rank, his height and build were finally shedding that submissive, “bottom” aesthetic.
Even “Little Aki”-his namesake below-had undergone its own evolution through session after session of Dual Cultivation³. Alongside his surging power, it had become a massive instrument: five centimeters in diameter and eighteen centimeters in length. With his height still climbing, he suspected the growth wasn’t done yet.

His power continued to skyrocket as his innate Talent and Stray Devil⁴ lineage synchronized post-A-rank. Following his victory over the Mountain Demon, he spent every night on subjugation missions.
He’d much rather spend his days in the heat of battle than fulfilling nonsensical contracts. It felt like finally pulling his weight as a member of the Occult Research Club (ORC⁵); he’d been a member for a while, but he hadn’t exactly been the heavy lifter until now.
Beyond the duty, Aki was using these fights to break in his newly surged strength. Daytimes were for school, after-school was for Dual Cultivation with beautiful girls, and nights were for hunting. This grueling, satisfying routine lasted for over two weeks.
September 23rd, Sunday.
In the pitch-black silence of a back alley, a ball of pale blue fire ignited in Aki’s hand, reducing a mangled corpse to ash.

He checked his data. Of the few targets left, this was supposed to be a “strong” one. But against his current self, it didn’t even move the needle on his experience bar. “Forget it. I’ll leave the rest to Koneko and Kiba,” Aki muttered, rubbing his chin. (If my math is right, Yuuma-chan should be coming for me any time now.)
Two weeks was plenty of time for the Fallen Angel to dig up the dirt on him. Once she realized Dual Cultivation was a shortcut to power, someone as power-hungry as Amano Yuuma would never pass up a chance to Breach A-rank herself.
September 25th, 10:00 AM.
Aki looked at the unknown caller ID on his phone and smirked. “Moshi moshi~ Is that you, Yuuma-chan?”
Silence hung on the line for a heartbeat before the Fallen Angel’s crisp, clear voice came through. “Uesugi-kun, do you have time to meet?”
”For you, Yuuma-chan? I’ll make time.” As he spoke, Aki fired off a quick LINE message to Rias. He was ditching class. Since Stray Devils and Fallen Angels were technically enemies, he needed to give his boss a heads-up before making contact. “Time and place,” he said, cutting to the chase. “You coming to me, or am I coming to you?”
”You come to me,” Amano Yuuma replied, glancing at her two subordinates. “The church. It’s my current base of operations.”
”Got it. See you in ten.” Aki hung up and found a secluded spot to unfurl his wings. He streaked across the sky like a black scar, heading toward the suburban church.
He’d been craving that Fallen Angel lineage for a while. Honestly, he preferred feathers to bat wings. Pitch-black feathers looked badass-and if they multiplied as he leveled up like a high-tier Angel, that would be even better.

Inside the church, Amano Yuuma let a smug smile play on her lips. She clearly still had the touch; even a Stray Devil who had tasted as many women as Aki was chomping at the bit to see her.
”Mittelt, Kalawarner,” she said, turning to her subordinates. “Stick to the plan. If the results match what we scouted, we’re not letting him leave.”
”Yes, Lady Raynare!” they chirped.
Mittelt, the blonde in the maid outfit, fidgeted nervously. “Lady Raynare… can Kalawarner go first? It’s my first time… I’m kind of shaking over here.”
Kalawarner, the blue-haired beauty in the skin-tight suit, stiffened. “Hey! I don’t have experience either!”
”No way! Absolutely no way!” Mittelt flashed her fangs. “Kalawarner, look at you! You’re a Fallen Angel with a body like that and you’re telling me you’ve never had a body count?!”
Kalawarner went beet-red, her hair shielding half her face. “Is that a crime? Since when did being hot become a requirement for having been around the block?”
While they bickered, Aki arrived. Yuuma, currently disguised as the innocent schoolgirl, felt his presence. “Enough. He’s here. Get ready.”
”Right.”
Aki pushed open the heavy church doors and was surprised to see two extra faces. He’d expected to get straight to the “merging” part. “Yuuma-chan, who are your friends?”
”Mittelt, Kalawarner,” Yuuma introduced them. “They’re my subordinates. You’re going to use your ability on them first. I want to see the proof with my own eyes.”
Aki looked them over. They were cute enough. Deep in his memories, he recalled Raynare having some lackeys, but they’d been killed off so fast in the original story he’d barely remembered them. He wasn’t particularly hungry for them, but if Yuuma wanted a demonstration, he was happy to use them as a warm-up.
”Fine by me,” Aki said, glancing around the empty pews. “We doing this right here?”
”Hardly,” Yuuma replied, rolling her eyes. “Follow me.”
He followed them into the basement. Yuuma shed her disguise, her dark wings unfurling with a soft fwoosh. Aki watched with envy-that instant outfit change was a skill he definitely wanted to learn, and maybe teach to his other girls. (It would make roleplay way easier and save on the laundry…)
”Before we start, I need to know exactly how strong you are,” Yuuma said, materializing a red spear of light. Mittelt and Kalawarner followed suit, their own wings spreading as they gripped shimmering spears of different hues.
”Oh? A group attack?” Aki grinned. “You really think the three of you can take me?”
”Let’s just call it a spar,” Yuuma said. In her mind, she was already imagining him in a cage as a permanent “cultivation battery” to be drained at her leisure. And if they lost? Well, they were getting what they wanted either way.
Aki didn’t care about her schemes. His combat prowess was now second only to Rias in the ORC. His Martial Way⁶ gave him a massive edge; even with their Evil Pieces⁷ buffs, Akeno and Koneko couldn’t touch him one-on-one anymore. Kiba was a wild card, but judging by Rias’s reaction, Aki was likely the top dog there too.
”Bring it.”
Aki snapped his bat wings open. A black tail whipped out from his spine, the jagged tip gleaming with a lethal edge. The three Fallen Angels lunged simultaneously. One-on-one, he’d crush them, but three at once forced him to focus.
Three spears of light whistled toward him from different angles. Aki pirouetted past the red one, parried the second with a Thunder Spear⁸ of his own, and slapped the third aside with his steel-hard tail.
The girls were fast, but they were brawlers-relying on raw Mana and physical stats. Aki, however, was a technician. He dodged and countered, weaving through the six delicate hands trying to pin him down.
As the rhythm of the fight settled, Aki realized they were just like Rias and the others: “Power players.” They threw weight around but lacked finesse. In the world of S-ranks and Demon Kings, power could level mountains, but right here, in this basement, Aki’s refined technique was making them look like amateurs.
