The old devil—the so-called Archduke—bellowed with a vitality that belied his withered, fraying lifespan. “I didn’t expect the Gremory household to stand in my way. It seems I’ll have to dispose of you first, then hunt down that little brat.”
Zolgear looked formidable, but his life force was a guttering candle. Without a breakthrough to God-tier, he’d be nothing but dust in a decade. For a devil, ten years was a heartbeat, and with Wilbert’s power as his only salvation, he had neither the time nor the patience to wait. When the Khaos Brigade had reached out, he hadn’t hesitated.
A cunning, ruthless operator, Zolgear wouldn’t have moved unless the odds were stacked heavily in his favor—at least seventy percent success. That was why he’d held back, only revealing himself to ambush Rias and the others. If killing Rias or Sona Sitri could shatter the Demon King’s composure, all the better; if not, he lost nothing.
While the higher-ups postured, Aki was working. His Boosted Gear pulsed with relentless, doubling strength, while Grayfia raced to dismantle the containment barrier1. If only the villains would monologue until the end of time, perhaps the barrier would finally crumble. Sadly, despite the ink spilled on their conversation, only seconds had passed.

The raven-haired schoolgirl held the power of a Super-Devil, but facing two descendants of the old Demon Kings was a bridge too far. As the white armor closed in, Serafall had surged backward, but she was too slow—half her power was sucked away in an instant.
The crushing, hollow weight of that forced weakness struck her like a physical blow. Katerea seized the opening. A bolt of black, ominous lightning tore through the air, slamming into Serafall and driving her from the sky, deep into the earth.

Before she was fully exposed, she instinctively manifested a magical-girl costume. It was her preferred “work” attire, and in her panic, her subconscious had defaulted to it.
Aki found it objectively cute—especially those thigh-highs—but the dark-skinned woman was far from amused. The mere sight of the woman who had “stolen” the Leviathan title prancing around in such a frivolous state sent Katerea into a fury. She ignored Serafall’s previous restraint, unleashing a barrage of manic, coordinated attacks with Vali.
Serafall was powerful—in a straight fight, Katerea couldn’t have scratched her—but with the White Dragon Emperor added to the mix, she was drowning. Worse, his ability was broken, a disgusting bug in the system: contact didn’t just drain half her power; he simply took it. While a Boosted Gear only amplified the user, the White Dragon’s wings could absorb, negate, or simply vent the excess power if it was too much to hold.
As Serafall’s aura flickered and dimmed under the relentless assault, Sona Sitri reached her limit. She knew she was helpless, but she couldn’t stand by.
”Sona, wait!” Rias blocked her path. “The shockwaves alone would kill you.” Rias was SS-rank and dared not approach; Sona was only S-rank. It was a death sentence.
”Rias… but my sister…”
Cold and reserved to the world, Sona was a different person when it came to her sister. The softness in her eyes was heartbreaking.
Aki sighed, checking Grayfia’s progress before casting a dark look at the sky, where Serafall was being driven into the dirt yet again. She wouldn’t last.
”President, stay put,” Aki said, his tone flat and professional as he shifted his Boosted Gear into its second form. “If you run out there, you’ll just be a target the Demon King has to protect.”
Sona froze, her eyes rimmed with red.
Aki reached out, giving her hair a firm, grounding pat. “Don’t worry. I’ll look after her. Besides, I have a bone to pick with these two anyway.”
Wide, leathery wings unfurled from his back. A dark, barbed tail curled low near his calves, and three distinct markings etched themselves across his left cheek. In his full-blown Devil form, he channeled every ounce of stored power into a single, devastating blast aimed directly at Vali.
”Hm?”
The White Dragon Emperor twisted in mid-air, dodging the deep-blue torrent of mana by a hair’s breadth. Vali halted his assault on Serafall, turning toward Aki with a feral, excited grin.
”Red Dragon Emperor. You want a piece of me?”
”What do you think? I’m just here for the scenery?”
Aki glared at the white armor. It was strong, sleek, and terrifying—a masterclass in power. But a Balance Breaker was a fickle beast, tied entirely to the host’s emotional resonance. Vali was driven by the obsession of combat; Issei was driven by… other, breast-related obsessions. But for Aki, the Boosted Gear was a tool. His core was his Dual Cultivation ability. He couldn’t find that one, singular, all-consuming obsession to force the armor to manifest.
He could force the output, but he couldn’t reach that final, armored threshold.
Vali didn’t care about his inner turmoil. That blast had proven one thing: Aki was worth the effort.
”Hahahaha!”
Vali carved a V-shaped trail through the sky, his voice manic and exhilarated. “Red Dragon Emperor! Let’s settle our fate right here!”

• Katerea – A Demon King-class powerhouse who is currently restrained by the Magic-Sealing Body Lock. She has long hair and is characterized by a conflict between her pride as a Leviathan and her forced state of subjection to Aki. Leviathan Demon King-class powerhouse with dark skin and a tall, slender build. She is currently stripped of her abilities and held captive by Aki.
• Y – The first initial/part of the name Y Ddraig Goch.
• Issei – Issei Hyoudou is an average-built Kuoh Academy student with brown hair, a mischievous face, and lecherous tendencies as one of the “Three Perverts.” As the successor of the Red Dragon Emperor, he hosts its consciousness via the Longinus-class Boosted Gear. He is currently held captive by enemies for an extraction ritual, targeting him for a deprivation rite.
