Chapter 309 The Blonde, Busty Older Sister
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Kokabiel steadied himself in the ruins, finally realizing how far apart their strength was.
But he couldn’t accept what was happening. Aki hadn’t even used his Sacred Gear yet.
A guy who had only been training for a year, someone who had just reached Demon King-class a few days ago, actually had combat power at the Super-Devil level. If he used the Boosted Gear, he could even hold his own in a fight against two at once.
”I don’t believe it!” Kokabiel shouted, his voice thick with disbelief.1
Kokabiel stood up from the ruins in a miserable state. His face, already ugly and terrifying, looked even worse with blood covering his skin.
He raised both hands upward, refusing to accept defeat, and tried to gather all his Mana (magical energy) once more.
Huge magic circles appeared behind him. Elemental light-attribute energy, like tiny suns, kept coming together — it was still that Light Spear, the attack most deadly to Devils.
Close combat was not an option. This Light Spear technique was a kind of attack that could kill Devils in one hit.
Kokabiel’s battle judgment kept failing, but Aki had finished testing his current strength and had no intention of playing along.
If he let off another wide-range attack like that, Aki might be fine, but the three people below — Yuuto and the others — might not be.
Besides, the destruction was already too great. Fixing it later would be a hassle.
”About the level of a Super-Devil? With the Sacred Gear, I can probably fight two at once,” Aki muttered to himself, his tone measured and analytical.
”If my Mana pool grows enough and my power fully joins together, I could likely become even stronger. Fighting three at once shouldn’t be a problem.”
”As I thought, the higher you climb, the harder it becomes to be unbeatable at your own level…”
Aki felt a slight sense of professional disappointment. “It’s a shame I can’t handle six at once like I used to. Without the Boosted Gear, I’m probably stuck at fighting one against two.”
But he also knew this was normal. The further you go, the harder it is to pull ahead of the group.
Everyone who could reach this level of strength was a genius. Pulling ahead naturally became extremely difficult.
On the other hand, every big jump in rank was huge. It was almost impossible to fight above your own level anymore.
”In the end, it really comes down to your basic level,” Aki said, his voice steady.
As Aki said this, he brought out his bright red, dragon-shaped armor.
[Boost!]
A low, mechanical male voice echoed from the green jewel. After his power doubled, Aki threw a punch at a speed Kokabiel couldn’t possibly react to, slamming it straight into his chest.
The tall body of the twelve-winged Fallen Angel bent at an unnatural angle. Blood sprayed from his mouth like it was nothing, making a red fountain in the air.
The super-large magic that had been charging for several seconds exploded. The surging, scattered Mana became a violent wind.
Yuuto and the others, who were fighting hard below, had to stop and focus on resisting the strong wind pressure.
”Tsk, truly worthy of being a Demon King-class,” Aki noted, his tone showing no surprise. “Even if he is a bit of a fake, his life force is still pretty tough.”
The wounds that looked deadly from any angle only made the Demon King-class figure stagger for a moment.
But this strike broke Kokabiel’s unwillingness and confidence. All that was left was terror and the basic need to survive.
The smooth, handsome red dragon armor, shining in the sunlight, had now become a deadly red reaper in the eyes of this former Fallen Angel leader and war-lover.
His survival instinct from the battlefield told Kokabiel: Run! Run now!
If he didn’t run, he would surely die!
He didn’t even look at his Familiar (a magical beast partner) or his followers. He flapped his wings in terror and fled the battlefield like a black streak.
As he flew, he made a Transport magic circle.
As long as he reached Fallen Angel Headquarters, he would be safe.
Since he had already decided to kill, Aki naturally wouldn’t stop halfway. Want to run? He didn’t think so.
Compared to the White Dragon Emperor, the Red Dragon Emperor was not as good at speed. But that didn’t mean his speed would be slower than Kokabiel’s.
He glanced at the clearly exhausted Yuuto and the others, and after making sure they could hold out until Rias and the girls arrived, six pairs of strange wings came out from behind the red dragon armor. He chased after Kokabiel like a bolt of red lightning.
The moment Kokabiel appeared, Aki had told Rias and the others through the Soul Network (a magical mental link).
It just took some time to gather the team, confirm the location, and report to the higher-ups in the Underworld.
Mainly because with Aki there, they weren’t worried at all. That was why they took the time to make all the necessary preparations before arriving.
Kokabiel’s fall hurt the morale of Valper’s side, but it didn’t change the result of the battle.
Valper and the crazy priest didn’t believe Kokabiel would die. They figured once they dealt with the people in front of them, they could just go on with the plan or run away.
Ten minutes later.
Aki caught up to Kokabiel, used his Sacred Gear to double his power five times, and let out a punch with the force of a laser cannon.
Kokabiel had no ability to block at all. His Demon King-class body became a punching bag, carving long gashes into the wide mountain range and forest.
Aki didn’t have a hobby of torturing his enemies, but he was also worried the Fallen Angels might send help.
Kokabiel was indeed a scumbag, but his strength was real. The Fallen Angels wouldn’t just sit by and watch him get killed.
You could see this from the fact that Shemhaza had given him almost no punishment after the Three Factions Talk.
Aki’s guess was right. Seeing no chance to teleport, Kokabiel had used easier communication magic. The Fallen Angels were already on their way.
Once they locked onto Kokabiel’s location, the Fallen Angels, led by Shemhaza, would come to save him.
But even if they saved him, Aki wasn’t scared. There was plenty of proof for this incident. When the time came, the Fallen Angel side wouldn’t just be too afraid to push the matter — they would have to pay compensation to the Devils.
Aki understood these things clearly. To be honest, a living Kokabiel brought more benefits than a dead one.
But compared to benefits, he preferred his peace of mind.
So, Kokabiel died anyway — dying one minute before the Fallen Angel help arrived.
The Fallen Angel leaders, led by Shemhaza, looked silently at the bloody, broken body stuck in the cracked ground.
From the body parts that could still be recognized and the twelve torn black wings on his back, they could tell that the person who died was indeed Kokabiel.
The Mana waves in the air hadn’t even faded yet. Shemhaza didn’t need to investigate to know who had killed Kokabiel.
Shemhaza pushed up the glasses on his nose and said calmly, “Let’s go. Take Kokabiel’s body.”
”Governor General…” a Fallen Angel asked, his voice shaking with anger, “Are we just going to leave it at that?”
”Otherwise?” Shemhaza replied coldly. “Do you want to start another war?”
”I…” The Fallen Angel leader clenched his fists, but in the end, he lowered his head.
Those who were brought along by Shemhaza were all part of the peace-seeking group. When it came down to it, Azazel had much more respect and status than Kokabiel.
If the Fallen Angels could silently accept the death of Azazel, they could certainly accept the death of Kokabiel too.
It was just that seeing the body made it hard to control their feelings.
”Alright, Kokabiel brought this on himself. I warned him last time. Not only did he refuse to listen, he even came to the Human World on his own,” Shemhaza said, his voice final.
Shemhaza thought of his Devil wife at home and his two mixed-blood children, and brought the matter to an unquestionable close.
”Since he’s dead, let him do one last service for the tribe. Take the body back to headquarters and give it to the research lab.”
”Understood,” the follower replied.
…
When Aki got back to the abandoned factory, the battle there was already over.
Rias and the girls were standing around a tall, impressive older woman with platinum-blonde hair and a large chest.
The two Holy Sword-wielding schoolgirls looked a bit down, standing quietly outside the group, wondering what they were thinking.
”Koaki, look,” Rias said, pushing the sexy, long-legged older woman toward Aki with a proud smile. “I told you Yuto… ahem, Yuhime, was a great beauty, didn’t I?”
”Mm, Yuhime is very beautiful,” Aki praised her honestly.
Now that he was facing the restored female form of Kiba Yu… hime, he finally felt less awkward.
He was curious about what had happened after he left, but the girls seemed to have more questions for him.
For instance: How was Kokabiel? What was going on with his current look?
On the way back, Aki had already turned off his Balance Breaker but was still keeping his battle form.
The image — which couldn’t be called completely different from before, but was definitely not the same — clearly sparked the girls’ curiosity.
There were many questions. After a short talk, they decided to save the discussion for later.
This matter also involved Sona Sitri. Although Aki had stopped the trouble as soon as it appeared, Sona Sitri and the Student Council Devils had also rushed over.
Since they were already here and hadn’t helped in the fight, they decided to handle the cleanup.
So, the cleanup of the destruction caused by the battle was taken over by the girls from the Student Council.
At this moment, Xenovia spoke up: “The matter of the Holy Swords is settled, so we will be heading back now.”
After the fierce battle, the black tight-fitting combat suits of the two Holy Sword-wielding schoolgirls were torn in many places, with patches of snow-white skin showing.
Aki looked closely and saw that the Holy Swords they carried were both gone.
