No matter how powerful she’d become, she was still just a sixteen-year-old high school girl. She couldn’t help feeling a little nervous.
”Thank you for your hard work,” Lucia murmured, then led Naruse Mio—who looked conflicted—through the gates.
Given the shifts in the world line, Aki couldn’t be sure Ramsus wouldn’t try something against Naruse Mio.
Still, after their relationship grew, he’d signed Soul Contracts with both Naruse Mio and Lucia. Even if they walked into a trap, they’d be fine—think of it as a test.
Shela, on the other hand, hadn’t signed a Soul Contract.

The conflict between the Curia and Demon King Sirzechs had hit a boiling point. Other than a full split and open war, every issue was on the table.
Devil families without enough strength or backing could no longer stay neutral.
Ramsus was secretly on Sirzechs’s side—but not foolish enough to paint a target on his back.
The Curia couldn’t take down Sirzechs, but dealing with Ramsus? That would be easy.
”Uncle, don’t blame yourself. We had our suspicions before we even arrived,” Naruse Mio replied gently.

Even if the Curia had someone watching Shela, they’d never suspect the biggest threat was that lazy kitty, half-buried in Shela’s chest.
Ramsus found Naruse Mio’s confidence puzzling, but wisely didn’t press.

Their role was just to play along, keep the Curia distracted, lure out the Old Devils, and wait until Aki found them first.
As for what Aki was after, or what he’d gain from it—they didn’t know, and didn’t care.
Other than that goal, Naruse Mio had come for two simple reasons: to see her uncle and to visit where her parents once lived.
Yes—Ramsus’s mansion was actually inherited from Sirzechs.
Before becoming Demon King, Sirzechs had lived here in this grand villa.
Seeing this, Ramsus managed a wry smile. Some of the weight on his shoulders lifted.
”Alright. Get some rest tonight—tomorrow, we’re going to pay our respects to the Demon King.”
”That soon?” Naruse Mio asked, surprised.
Ramsus chuckled. “What, did you think this was really just a family visit?”
Naruse Mio and Lucia exchanged another glance before nodding in agreement.
No problem. Aki had told them he’d come back tonight and put together intel from both sides.
As long as Aki was with them, they’d fear nothing—not even the Abyss itself.
The night in the Underworld wasn’t that different from the Human World—the moon just seemed a little bigger.
In this flat, endless expanse of the Three Realms, all of Aki’s old astronomy knowledge was useless.
”Hey Shela—why is the Underworld’s moon sometimes red?” Aki asked, rolling over in the soft warmth of Shela’s chest—making the faux-loli tremble—his cat mouth opening to voice his curiosity.
Dressed in an elegant gown like a proper Peerage lady, the Succubus Queen shot a glare at the black cat resting on her chest. “Even in the Underworld, a red moon doesn’t happen every time. It’s mostly during the full moon—and when it does appear, it usually means something big is about to go down.”
Aki thought about his duel with that useless phoenix turkey. Now that he remembered, the moon had been red that night too.
The first appearance of the strongest Red Dragon Emperor, along with the fall of the Phoenix clan’s third son—that certainly counted as “something big.”
