”Master, you just said we could learn magic too…” Takamine Ayame¹ looking radiant, her eyes wide with a mix of excitement and anticipation. “Is it really true?”
She had actually wanted to ask him the night before, but she’d been too swept up in the waves of pleasure at the time. Since Aki hadn’t brought it up again, she’d kept the question tucked away until now.
”Yeah,” Aki replied, turning back toward the bathroom. “Ask the others about the specifics once they wake up. I’ll leave the living room to you guys; I need to rinse off before heading to school.” He paused at the door, adding almost as an afterthought, “By the way, if your aptitude is high enough, you might even be able to transfer into Kuoh Academy.”
The Takamine sisters had spent a long time pestering their mother about not being able to attend the same school as Aki. Hearing this, their enthusiasm for studying magic surged instantly.

Walking toward the academy while munching on bread and milk from a convenience store, Aki suddenly realized he’d forgotten to ask if the Takamine sisters felt that “bound” sensation—the feeling of becoming his exclusive property.

In truth, he didn’t really need to ask. He was already fairly certain that Kurumizaka Ruri had been telling the truth. The way he had broken in the Takamine sisters had been far too smooth, the pace far too fast. It felt as though he’d barely put in any effort before they were completely conquered. He had initially chalked it up to their natural “talent,” but now it seemed that the “NTR protagonist” side effects were playing a major role.
Looking at it from another perspective, what would Ruri gain by making up a lie like that? No matter how he looked at it, there was no benefit for her. While the “Bitter Parent”² template was a magnet for every yellow-haired punk³ in the city, it also provided him with an incredible shortcut. He didn’t have to worry about the girls in his “inner palace” deciding to hop over the fence; that realization alone cut Aki’s stress in half.

Aki ignored the various stares following him as he walked toward the Student Council room, mumbling to himself. The initial storm of rumors had died down, but he was still a person of interest—especially to the students of Hidden Academy. The girls were eager to verify if the rumors about Aki being able to increase their strength were true, while the boys watched him with a volatile mix of envy and trepidation.
The disappearance of the third-year, Oida Taisei, had started to leak out through the grapevine. Aki wasn’t sure if Rias or Shitori Sona had allowed the news to spread on purpose, but things had certainly been a lot quieter around him lately.
Upon arriving at the Student Council, he found that neither Shitori Sona nor Shinra Tsubaki was there. After fishing for information from the other council members and coming up empty, he made his way toward the Occult Research Club (ORC).
Pushing open the heavy doors of the ORC, Aki walked over to the white-haired loli curled up on the sofa and gave her a gentle shake. “Koneko, wake up. Wake up.”
”Mmm… is it breakfast?” Koneko grumbled, sitting up and rubbing her bleary eyes. “I want fried eggs and miso soup…”
”You’re out of luck,” Aki said flatly. Did this lazy little kitten really expect a hot breakfast at this hour? He’d cleaned out every ingredient in the house the night before, which was why he’d been forced to settle for convenience store food.
”Uuu…” Realizing there was no food, the little Nekomata looked ready to collapse back into sleep. Aki gave her soft head a firm, playful rub before asking, “Where are the Buchou and Akeno-senpai?”
”Buchou… I think she went back to the Underworld last night. Akeno-senpai… I don’t know.”
”Back to the Underworld, huh?” Aki let go of her head, feeling a wave of relief. It looked like his “deception” wouldn’t be exposed just yet. He hadn’t technically told a single lie, but he’d omitted a massive chunk of the truth. More importantly, he’d already eaten Shinra Tsubaki clean…
He needed to power up, and fast. Otherwise, Aki feared he wouldn’t die at the hands of a yellow-haired punk, but would instead be accidentally beaten to death by a woman. Well, maybe not death—Shinra Tsubaki wouldn’t have the heart for it. But being locked in a basement and kept as a cultivation tool and breeding stud? That was a very real possibility.
After draping a blanket over the white-haired girl, Aki headed toward the Kendo Club. With his current strength, the most efficient move was to pursue the targets he’d already selected. If he unlocked a new Talent, the gains would be massive; if not, the risks were still manageable. Aki estimated his current strength to be around B-rank, considering a lower-class Devil usually sat at that level. Since he hadn’t sparred with anyone truly powerful yet, he’d just consider himself a fresh B-rank for now.

Aki refined his plan as he walked. Before long, he reached the rear of the Kendo training hall. Just as he was about to round the corner toward the entrance, he heard a suspicious rustling coming from the bushes.
”Whoa, is this heaven?!”
”Move over, move over! It’s my turn!”
”Don’t push! I haven’t seen enough yet!”
”Hey, you two! I haven’t even had one look!”
Aki’s ears twitched. One of those voices sounded incredibly familiar. He slowed his pace and crept over the greenery, coming up behind the three figures engaged in their hushed argument.

Aki rubbed his chin, watching with interest as they huddled around a finger-sized hole in the wall. The pervert trio were currently shoving each other for the best view of the girls changing inside, completely oblivious to the person standing directly behind them. As the view inside clearly got more exciting, their voices and movements grew louder. Hyoudou Issei, who still hadn’t managed to get a turn at the peephole, was getting so frantic he looked ready to throw hands.
Thud!
In the middle of the scramble, someone slammed against the wall, alerting the Kendo Club members inside. The girls looked toward the sound, immediately spotting the light shining through the hole—and the perverts behind it.
”Ah! Perverts!”
Chaos erupted. The sword-girls scrambled to throw their clothes on, grabbing their bamboo swords and charging for the exit.
”Crap! We’re busted! Run for it!”
Matsuda and Motohama, who had been hogging the hole, realized the danger and shoved Hyoudou Issei aside as they bolted. Issei went sprawling, and by the time he scrambled back to his feet, he was already being swarmed by the furious girls.
Aki had ducked into the shadows the moment the trio shouted. Seeing the two friends trying to make a clean break, his eyes narrowed. He flicked two small bolts of lightning directly at their knees.
Compared to the simple-minded Hyoudou Issei, Aki had zero respect for these two. They always took the lion’s share of the benefits and left Hyoudou Issei to take the blame for their messes.
In the bushes, Matsuda and Motohama felt their knees go numb. Their bodies failed them instantly, and they face-planted into the dirt.
Thump! Thump!
The Kendo girls, who were currently raining blows on Hyoudou Issei, turned their heads.
”There are more of them!”
”I knew it! It’s these three again!”
”Hmph! Sisters, let them have it! Don’t hold back!”
As soon as the other two appeared, they drew the majority of the fire. The Kendo girls hated the two who had almost escaped even more than the dazed boy who had just sat there.
While no one was looking, Aki moved to Hyoudou Issei’s side and dragged the confused boy out of the kill-zone. The girls only saw a dark blur and felt a gust of wind; suddenly, Hyoudou Issei was gone. With one less body to absorb the hits, Matsuda and Motohama’s beating became twice as intense.
Aki didn’t care what happened to them—they were tough, they’d survive, and maybe they’d learn a lesson. He looked at the bruised and battered Hyoudou Issei and smiled, his eyes drifting instinctively toward the boy’s arm.
”Hyoudou-kun, long time no see.”
Hyoudou Issei hadn’t even processed what happened before the scenery shifted. Hearing Aki’s voice, his confusion turned into a flash of panic.
”Ue… Uesugi-kun… L-long time no see.” Hyoudou Issei instinctively shuffled backward, trying to put distance between them.
Aki’s gaze sharpened. This wouldn’t do. He had been so obsessed with his Dual Cultivation talent that he had almost forgotten there was a massive cheat code standing right in front of him.
If possible, Aki wanted the Boosted Gear for himself. But if that proved impossible, then building a solid relationship with Hyoudou Issei was the next best thing. Hyoudou Issei was a loyal friend to a fault—Matsuda and Motohama screwed him over constantly, yet he never held a grudge.
Adjusting his expression to one that looked completely harmless, Aki asked with faux curiosity, “Hyoudou-kun, why on earth were you being mobbed by the Kendo Club?”
