Volume 11 Chapter 28 Lumine’s Thousand-Year Promise

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

If you had to sum up Lumine-chan in one line, you’d say: sun-kissed skin, golden hair, and the kind of gal who lights up a room. She and Kahoru-chan made a famous troublemaker duo back in the day. People assumed Haruka-chan babysat them. They didn’t know she caused her own kind of trouble—just in quieter ways.

”Nasu-kun,” Lumine-chan said, eyes bright. “Can I call you Takumi-kun like the others?”

 ”Of course,” I said.

She tried the name again, almost tasting it. “Takumi-kun.”

Her smile made it sound new.

”For the person I love,” she said softly, “sharing my first time feels…happy. Don’t just watch. Stay with me.”

”Then I’ll be with you,” I said. “All the way.”

We kissed. I held her close until our breathing found the same rhythm. She clung to me, arms looped around my neck like she never wanted to let go. When she winced, I stopped.

 ”It hurts, right?”

”A little,” she said. “But I want to know what this feels like. No shortcuts.”

She had taken Shiori-chan’s contraception, but turned down the pain meds. So I moved slowly, letting time do the work that medicine would have done. We kissed again, and she nodded for me to continue.

”I think… we made it,” she whispered after a while, blinking away the sting. “Takumi-kun, thank you.”

 ”I love you, Lumine-chan.”

”I love you too,” she said. “I don’t care what number I am. As long as you keep loving me, that’s enough.”

A small needle pricked my chest. I’ve been with many girls. Aside from rare cases like Natalie-san, the courtesan, or Rusty, most had chosen me with a kind of single-minded devotion I didn’t always deserve.

”Takumi-kun, don’t overthink it,” someone murmured behind me.

 ”Rira-chan,” I said, startled.

Rira-chan’s playful voice drifted over my shoulder. She hugged me from behind for half a second, all warmth and mischief, then let go before it turned into a scolding. Lumine-chan tensed, then laughed through her nerves.

”We’re rivals, sure,” Rira-chan said, “but we’re friends too. Hikari and Aria made sure of that. Even though Aria should have the clear lead, she insists on keeping things fair. So MDGC runs clean.”

”I’m glad you’re all on good terms,” I said. “It helps.”

”Me too,” Lumine-chan said. “I’m happy I’m not the ‘loser heroine.’”

I brushed Lumine-chan’s straight blond hair with my fingers and tucked it behind her ear. She blushed and shifted closer, trying to match my pace.

”Do you like this?” she asked.

 ”I do,” I said. “I like you.”

She grinned, the old troublemaker glint back in her eyes. “Then hold me like you always do.”

”Let him,” Rira-chan said with a teasing lilt. “Takumi-kun’s serious side is something else.”

I tightened my arms around Lumine-chan. She caught her breath, then relaxed. The room grew quiet—only our breathing, steady and warm.

 ”I’m ready,” she whispered.

 ”Okay,” I said.

I didn’t need to say more. We stayed close and let the moment carry us, no rush, no noise, nothing performative. When I finally told her I was there with her—fully—she clung to me, eyes shining, and nodded.

”Thank you,” she said again, voice trembling with relief and joy. “I’m… happy.”

I kissed her forehead. “Me too.”

Outside, the night kept its own promise and did not intrude.

”Lumine,” Rira-chan said gently. “Don’t be stubborn. Take this too.”

She leaned over and kissed her. Lumine-chan accepted the small tablet with a nod and swallowed.

”Shiori-chan made it,” Rira-chan added. “It helps you relax and feel good. Only if you want it.”

”More… kiss me more,” Lumine-chan whispered.

A sun-bright gal and a refined, black-haired beauty—kissing right in front of me. They held each other, shy at first, then warmer, until the tension in Lumine-chan’s shoulders eased. I couldn’t pretend it didn’t affect me.

”You two are beautiful,” I said.

I lifted Lumine-chan’s leg to help her settle in more comfortably. We moved together again—slow, careful, and close. She squeezed my hand when she needed a pause, and I waited. When she was ready, she tugged me back with a smile.

Rira-chan, seated beside us, laced her fingers with Lumine-chan’s and laughed softly. “Consider this a mark,” she teased, tapping their joined hands. “We belong to the same team.”

 ”Are we… getting kept?” Lumine-chan asked, half-joking.

”If we choose it,” Rira-chan said. “Together.”

Calling me a god still feels strange, I thought. And if anyone “keeps” anyone, it has to be by choice. Rusty used to say the same thing.

Rira-chan leaned in, brushed Lumine-chan’s hair off her cheek, and met my eyes. “Takumi-kun,” she said with a frank smile, “I love you. Save my first time for when it’s right.”

Heat raced through me at the directness of it. Rira-chan mattered to me too. The idea of being her first—of answering that trust—hit deep.

”I want to,” I said. “But only when you’re ready, and clear-headed. No pressure. Say the word, and I’ll be there.”

”Good.” She beamed. “Then this is my reservation.”

Lumine-chan laughed, the sound light now, not tight with nerves. Rira-chan lay down at her side and took her hand again like a promise passed palm to palm.

”Thank you,” Lumine-chan said to both of us. “This is… the first time anything like this felt this warm.”

We stayed like that, sharing quiet kisses and easy breaths. No rush. No proving anything. Just the steady truth of being together.

After a while, Lumine-chan exhaled and traced a circle on my chest. “I’m happy,” she murmured. “I’m okay.”

I kissed her hair. “Rest,” I said.

Rira-chan squeezed my shoulder in a you-did-good way and then stroked Lumine-chan’s cheek with the back of her fingers. “My turn can wait,” she said. “I’m not going anywhere.”

The night outside kept its silence. Inside, we chose patience over urgency, and let the warmth linger.

Notes:

• Haruka – Witch of Destruction — Silver-haired, F-cup. Former class vice-president, now a powerful witch. Wields the Agilaus Staff, capable of devastating ritual magic. Became the world’s strongest after acquiring the ‘Dark Emperor of the Abyss’ as a familiar. Exhibits exhibitionist tendencies, often seeking public intimacy with Takumi. Deeply devoted to him, balancing her role as a leader with her desires. First appears in v1c1 Prologue.

• Kaho – 3rd Army leader. Worried, ceremonial magic.

• Lumine – A human student and Sakasaki Livia’s sister, first seen at McGaref’s gate after a reset to the past, returning from a barren labyrinth run with Nagai Kahoru after their party called them “dead weight.” Takumi meets her there; because she committed suicide in the prior timeline, he and friends watch her; she’s best friends with Kahoru and Date Haruka, and she speaks in hollow aphorisms.

• Natalie – A famous courtesan and former noblewoman; platinum blonde, busty, and elegant; known as Natalie Barklem, daughter of the Duke of Lesta Kingdom.

• Rusty – Golden-haired elf courtesan of McGaref’s Night Butterfly, famed for beauty and skill-reading. Becomes Takumi’s lover, quits brothel, joins harem under slave bond. First appears v1c36. Reminder: Sultry elf who chose devotion over luxury.

• Rira – A classmate and one of Takumi-kun’s harem members. She has J-cup breasts and short black hair, which she plans to dye blue. Rira enjoys playful and creative expressions of intimacy, including cosplay and affectionate physical affection. Rira is also known for her ‘Intuition’ skill, which has been evolving into something more advanced. She is a key figure in Takumi-kun’s life, offering both emotional and physical support. First appearance in v1c15.

• Hikari – 4th Division leader. Stressed, relies on Takumi.
